Galip! My goodness, there is a lock of my hair there from 1986, back when I was an exchange student in Turkey. I remember being told to jump on a clay pot to show its strength. It came home to Canada with me. Now, now to update my info, for that giveaway, lol!!!

So glad you and your friends are safe from the recent fires. It's so heartbreaking to see when people have lost their homes due to fires. Here in Southern California it's a constant Summer event to have a fire burning somewhere and through out the whole state. We've had to pack up some things once and be ready to evacuate, luckily it didn't come our way. Marianne, you definitely had the role down as Molly Jensen played by Demi Moore in Ghost. Nice job on the bowl! Happy to hear that Trudy can keep on truckin along and no major leaking. Take care you two.

It is so painful to see fires destroying everything really. You guys on the other hand made me fall in love with my birth country again with beautiful landmarks,places and most importantly very friendly and helpful people. You guys are also very likeable and good couple anyway. Hope all go wonderful for you.

Check if coolant is mixing with engine oil! You prevent major damage like this. Indication is not to see any leak at anywhere. Probably engine gasket replacement solves it.

there was one thing I did forget to say I was got another you are safe animal so sorry to hear about the bushfires and the devastation of a course is very heartbreaking to know that businesses get destroyed but also some people lose their lives and also a lot of Life stock and wild animals end up losing their lives in such things my heart goes out to those people that suffered sometimes people forget that turkey is very hot country prove remember the Phoenix was born and of the asses and was reborn again Turkey is a beautiful country and will pick itself up in the future the Earth is always very forgiving and has the ability to rebalance itself 6 months time it will probably all look green then ever and look like nothing ever happened it will become like the Garden of Eden and look like paradise xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Blast from the past! I think it was about 26 years ago that Galip cut a lock of my hair to hang on his wall. I had completely forgotten about it until I saw your video. If memory serves me he was a bit of a playboy. He gave a pottery demonstration to the tour group I was with. Any other Rick Steve’s Europe through the back door fans on here? I still have the little cup & saucer I bought from his shop.
How in the world are you getting any sleep without air conditioning? The winter months seem nice and cozy in a van. Summer seems to be a continuous challenge of how to keep cool.

Yes the fires have been terrible and they are still going on in other countries. That's why it's important to not make fires or through rubbish as the intense sun can start fires - We are pleased today to hear the manavgat fire is under control now

Great video folks. You should have asked a garage to pressure check your coolant system to find leak. I absolutely would not put any of that so called leak fixing fluid anywhere near my engine it can cause more damage than good. Blocking water jackets and thermostats for starters 😯

as you know I find everything you do interest in what the first thing that spring to mind when I saw you playing with the pottery wheels was a great film with Patrick Swayze the ghost I just one second I thought I was going to see the both of you having a go to like that slightly disappointed but understand I haven't had a go at pottery since I was at school and it was a messy going and also I do have a couple of cats that love following me everywhere and also sleep with me you may not know this but when they're happy they snore very heavily I don't always poop I'm also happy to know that you sort it out the overheating problem you don't want that to happen in the middle of nowhere and you also reminded me in Turkey everybody's got a good sense of humour I have experienced a cup of singalongs and also living the dream is nothing wrong with that never give up always remember those that talk about it but the real people actually do it and I have all the respect for you as you know I often wonder what sort of tyres you have got on your vehicle because they never seem to run out you seem to get good mileage out of them if you are good to the vehicle the vehicle is always good to you I said that every time I get on my mountain bike anyway all the best it's just me Ricky in the UK xxxxxxxxxxxx

Hey Chris, We have an Opel Vectra and we had the same issue with coolant leak. But in fact there was no leak at all. After long searches it turned out our water container cap was leaking when the water reaches high temp. and pressure. If the same problem continues try changing the cap itself or o-ring inside the cap. It is a cheap solution. Yolunuz açık olsun!

I feel sorry for the horses - they have no masks from the dust thrown up by all the ATVs passing them. I wonder does it affect all the animals and people there breathing in that thrown up dust every day.
Very probably - Murat at the camping area dampens the area in the evening just before the ATVs go past to stop as much dust as he can in his campsite 🙌

Hey guys. Re the fluid leak, I would check there is no water in the oil. Easy to see check the Oil dipstick is not showing over full. Kee up the good work, love your channel :-)

If there is no water leakage in the visual inspection, the cylinder head gasket may be burnt.

I think people who were devastated because of the wildfire should start to consider living in a van like you.
Hi Philip - we met a whole group of people living in Istanbul in Campers / Caravans due to losing their homes in earthquakes and not wanting to live in bricks and mortar. It might be a temporary solution for sure and know a friend in Manavgat that have given their caravan to a family until they can rebuild their home 💜🌺🙌
You said the stabilisation would not show bridge wobbling. Ibis and OIS only prevent background movement, if you are moving or a subject is moving it wont help
As it is a hand help gopro it really compensates for the movement as we walk / run etc ... but Chris managed to capture me wobbling LOL 😂👍
If the mechanic's have put a sealant in your coolant system I would be very cautious. Over time it might stop the leak but it can also block up the coolant system and cause you long term problems.

I’m concerned about your coolant issue. It looks like some Radweld or K-Seal or something was poured in at 15m27s on the video. That stuff tends to gum up your heater matrix and you’ll struggle to get any heat in the cabin when the weather gets cooler. If there was no leak, my suggestion is that you might want to have your cylinder head gasket looked at. As a first step, look under the oil cap to check whether there’s any gloopy substance there, which is an indication that water and oil are mixing. You don’t have to have the cylinder head removed to check - you can get a head testing kit and any decent garage will be able to do this test for you. In terms of cost, the price for the kit in the UK is generally around £20. My worry is that you’re storing up problems that will spring up in six months’ time when you’re somewhere less well served with garages than Turkey.

I love Turkey, I just retired and would love to do a similar trip across the country like your doing. However I’m from the US and a person of color. You may not have the answer, but do you think 2 women of color would be safe and get same wonderful hospitality that your getting, mainly in the small villages.

Hi - She is ok and working hard as it is hatching time on Manavgat beach - the fires appear to be under control in that area and she did not sustain any damage to her family home 🙏🌺

The fires in Turkey and globally are completely horrific and they are on every news channel and being shown worldwide - we know this from followers around the world. We are not in the affected areas, so what we know is what we have seen on the news. If we’re in an affected area of course we would include it in our videos. It is difficult as we are not journalists we travel bloggers and so its best to leave it to the professional reporters who have accurate information.
