OH! MY! GOODNESS! we were in 7th heaven watching the tour of the Carpet Shop. Absolutely LOVED that. I was in tears when he gave you the Kilim as a gift. How typically Turkish was that? You will treasure that and keep recalling the wonderful story. John’s eyes just about popped out of his head at the stock in the Treasure Room. Glad you enjoyed your Balloon Ride another one ticked of the "to do" list. God Bless you both you are "Treasures" Patricia 🏴🏴🏴XX
I totally agree, Göreme has a magical feel to it. Strangely, I've only been there in Winter. When me and my wife went there was snow everywhere but it made it look almost something out of a fairytale. Me and my wife appeared in a Turkish soap opera there as extras 😅. It was a great experience.
Can i suggest you to watch the Palme d'Or winner "Winter Sleep" by Nuri Bilge Ceylan? The story is set in Cappadocia in winter time and it has very local feel about it.
This made my day...THIS place was where my husband and I enjoyed 4 amazing, magical days of our honeymoon!! Our balloon ride was incredible and the place in its entirety is somewhere we will never ever forget...truly majestic!!! We went in the winter so you can imagine what it was like with inches of snow!! Felt like we were in Narnia!!! We stayed in the Museum Hotel..it was heaven on earth!!! Xx
That is the biggest compliment you can get even the carpet man knew about your channel and everything that you have done to promote Turkey’s economy in the last year!!!!!
From your first video to your last video, there is always the same respect and love for each other... remember, it's your sincerity, not my country, that makes your videos beautiful.
That beautiful rug will mean even more knowing that it was given as such a gracious gift!! And what a beautiful place, it made us both so happy seeing you able to fly those 3 days later! Sending you our love ❤️ xx!!
Thank you so much both - we are so grateful to meet such lovely people and we hope we can show you the rug in person one day xx and swap campfire stories xx love from us xx
@@TREADtheglobe People can be amazing! and know we have met our fair share of beautiful souls along the road ❤️Deal! We will show you are prized Moroccan rug that is in Spirit too xx
Balloon ride is brilliant- definitely a bucket list must. My claim to fame - I made a rug when I was a kid. It was when we had power cuts( miners strike in the early 70s) - so we were making rugs by candle light- kids today don’t know they are born! I think my sister has now nicked all the rugs we made.
@@tayfu most of the ride was not too high in the air. Then we went up to 500 meters. And then 800 meters. Those distances were a bit scary! But like Chris and Marianne's experience, you don't think you are going to go (wind and delays) and then when you can finally fly, you are just in awe the whole time!
Another wonderful treat. Your videos are such a house bound sightseer's enjoyment. From a balloon ride to finding the perfect carpet, I so loved watching this. And, you're still there.....take care you two.
Stunning, just stunning! The balloon ride seems so peaceful apart from the dragon breath of fire hehehe Love the carpet shop, seems like a great guy. Thanks guys!
I'd love to go to Cappadocia, and watch the balloons take off - as long as I didn't have to go up in one - they are an iconic sight all in the air together.
Marianne & Chris…just returned from a 1 month holiday to Turkey with the family. Did a road trip around Turkey…Went to Cappadocia as well. Balloon ride was WORTH every penny.
I'm glad you took my suggestion and got a Turkish rug for Trudy, Sometimes the carpet salesman give you a little glass of tea, but I think that's at the Grand Bazar in Istanbul. Glad you enjoyed the balloon ride. That never existed back during the 60s .

Yay you did it! 🎈 Braver than I that’s for sure 😁 That mat for Trudy is brill. You might need a non slip underlay for it. I don’t want you doing the splits on the way out 😆 Big hugs 🤗♥️🧡✨
The balloon ride was the best activity we had in our Travel life. I can’t express my feelings but it was the most unforgettable experience. There were like 80 balloons when we there and I had the most fascinating photos and I think I had more 100 videos/photos. And one of the best is watching the Balloon tray to actually being dropped in the back of the Ute perfectly. I am so homesick sick, missing Turkey so much. I can live and retire to Turkey probably in Fethiye
We first went to Cappadocia 11 years ago and returned for 5 days last autumn, to stay in Goreme (it's so much bigger!). We need to go back again there is still so much more to see, magical place.
(giggle) . . .I still love the "oh, you're still there!" bits. What an amazing video. Balloons and rugs, colors and sounds. Loved every minute. Thanks for taking us along for the ride. Safe travels!
Beautyful. They call this caves PERİ BACALARI -Fairy Chimneys Be careful with the carpet not to slip Maybe put something underneath that causes friction
I have to say I have been following you for a year your videos are all amazing but this tops it. And your last Capadoccia video but man…. When the balloons are up in the sky it’s magical and romantic. It is soooooo unfortunate that Turkey has a leader it has right now. The people deserve the best because they’re so so lovely and generous. Keep doing what you’re doing, telling people to take care of their land and maybe just maybe the leader will listen xxx sorry we all feel so sad about the fires
