I brought my switch to work once to play during lunch break and this one middle aged guy(I'm 22) who is usually friendly to me decided to talk to a guy next to me about all the "gamer nerds" bringing their Switches out in public. (Another guy brought his some and gave me the idea) Dude couldn't even say shit to me, just talked with another guy like I wasn't there

Well, if it affects other stuff negatively you would do best limiting the time to something that works.
If it doesn't really hurt anything or make a difference I really do think that it makes you a bad parent to question their way of having fun for no good reason.
Removing it completely in any case is just straight up mean and I feel bad for kids that have to deal with parents that can't be bothered to figure out a compromise and instead just see things in black and white.
Like imagine someone taking away TV completely from you as an adult or something else that you wouldn't want to live without, or limiting it even if you get most of what you need to do done.
It would be quite horrible living like that.
I'm saying this as a 27 year old man btw, not as a kid that just wants to play more out of self interest.

Japan’s highest selling book in 1985 was the guidebook to super Mario bros and people were pissed then too. Older people hated comics, magazines, and at one point people complained about younger generations looking at news papers too much. Generations just want to feel like they’re the best. It’s ego on a huge scale.
It has nothing to do with generations. Fortnite is not a kids game by default, it's a game made for anyone who wants to play it. The generation to criticize Fortnite is the generation that Fortnite is created for. The ones who were pissed at Mario's popularity didn't have anything to compare it to because it was brand new.
It goes way back, one generation mentioned about how reading was ruining the youth. Its ingrained in our society.

ProjectDayZ something new no matter if it has anything to compare to it will always be embraced by the younger generation because they’re looking for something for themselves. It’s definitely a generation thing and the older a generation gets the less likely they latch on to something different and more likely to reject that difference.

I love how literally every generation has had something like this, yet people like to act like it only affects the current youth. Also, what happened to actually parenting? I'm betting these parents let the iPad "babysit" when the kid was young and now are all offended that the kid is attached.
There’s nothing wrong with letting your kid use technology, cause they love that shit. It just comes with the responsibility of actually talking to them for once and teaching them essential social skills, like Respect, Politeness, and in general being a human being. I would know because that’s how I was raised, and I learned, through bullying and the internet, these lessons. It managed to be better parenting than what my parents did.
