Hypnosis is a real thing, but its nothing like these people portray. It's more like a very relaxed state where the person is somewhat suggestible. Essentially the the hypnotist can plant ideas in your head but they cant make you do anything really. The best example is television, you're in an alternate state of mind (essentially hypnosis), and an ad for McDonald's comes on an tells you about the big mac. All of a sudden 5 hours later you're craving a big mac. That right there is hypnosis

the way hypnosis works is that when someone tells you to believe something, its just a suggestion. so as your mind visualizes it, thats how it will happen. so when that guy said he will think his phone is his shoe, that guy visualized it in his mind as his shoe being his phone. if you were up there (you probably wouldnt have been able to be hypnotized, but if you were able to be hypnotized) you might have visualized it exactly how youre explaining it, and ended up trying to wear your phone as your shoe.

In terms of magic, two categories must be discerned: Firstly "real magic" like telekinesis, telepathy or shooting fireballs, to which we can agree that this isn't what this man did. But there is also illusionist magic where the magician creates the illusion of performing magic in the minds of people, and this is the category I would put hypnosis into. Now, if this is what the man on camera openly did - convincing people that they can be put asleep with the snap of fingers by someone else, even though it's their own mind that did that - and it works on them, is it still fake? I would say no. It's still an illusion, but nonetheless it's real.
I would only call it fake if the subjects actually consciously pretended to fall asleep and it wasn't the hypnotist's suggestion but the subject's agreement to participate in a farce. You gave us the example that you could actually hypnotize kids into falling down a cliff. But that means you have proven yourself that you successfully performed hypnosis on them. Why were you able to do that? Either you and your cousin had a lot of talent, or your subjects were very suggestible, or both. But the hypnosis was in any case a real success.
There is only one option that supports your claim that hypnosis is fake. That the two kids wanted to make fun of you and only pretended. Also possible, but it didn't seem from your explanation that they did. It is possible to act out a suggestion without one's conscious will, that's what a placebo is.
About James Randi, I agree that it defies logic if supernatural abilities existed that nobody who had them would grab themselves 100k bucks. So to clarify, I do not argue for hypnosis as a real telepathic ability, just as a credible technique of mentalism. Convincing someone you can manipulate their minds when you actually can't.

Trillyana I want to but I can't, I went to a hypnosis thing while I was at six flags ( it was free so why not?) and I tried doing the stuff to be hypnotized and I call bullshit for sure. She said you have to believe but I did at the time and now I know it's bs

+TotallyRound_TylerJames hypnosis only works when you let it work but it usually takes alot more steps than alot of people think. I remember a hypnosis channel but don't remember the name but basically it took like atleast 2-5 minutes to start
