"Predator 2" (1990): Urban Jungle and a Deadlier Predator
Released in 1990, "Predator 2" is a science fiction action film directed by Stephen Hopkins. The movie is a sequel to the 1987 hit film "Predator" and takes the action from the jungle to the urban jungle of Los Angeles. The film features an even deadlier and more technologically advanced Predator hunting its prey in a gritty and crime-ridden city. Starring Danny Glover as Lieutenant Mike Harrigan, the film explores themes of urban violence, drug cartels, and police corruption, all while delivering intense action sequences and suspense.
Set in the near future of 1997, the movie showcases the Predator's adaptability as it uses the city's infrastructure to its advantage. The film also expands the lore of the Predator species, revealing more about their hunting practices and the existence of multiple Predators. While "Predator 2" didn't achieve the same iconic status as its predecessor, it remains a cult classic among fans of the franchise, known for its high-octane action and memorable scenes.
The film's blend of science fiction, horror, and action elements, along with its unique setting, adds a distinct flavor to the Predator series and demonstrates the franchise's ability to evolve and explore new environments. "Predator 2" is a noteworthy installment that has continued to capture the imagination of sci-fi and action enthusiasts over the years.

It would have been trippy to hear the predator recite "want some ganja mon?"
Fan edit?
I would've been laughing so hard.
xD Lol
Can we just appreciate Willie’s dialogue the delivery is incredible
I always thought after that car ride how high he would of been meeting King Willie 😂
King Willie was not wrong: the Predator was indeed from the other side… in space!
There was a brief moment in the late-80/early-90s where Jamaicans were the fashionable “scary” gangsters (see also “Marked for Death”).
Lot of actual Jamaican crime and violence in New York and other big cities. The directors and writers were just fantasizing what was current at the time. The bloods and crips, in pop culture popularity didn't really take off until 93 and 94 almost directly after the Jamaican fandom started to drop off. The Jamaican criminality moved to Europe. Lot of London Jamaican gangs and england Jamaican gangs.
@@larrygotter5609 You must be very young. The mainstream movie Colors (1988) proves that the Bloods & Crips were extremely well known years earlier. So that statement "the bloods and crips, in pop culture popularity didn't really take off until 93 and 94" is not even remotely correct. Plus, you know, I'm old enough to remember the 1980s and not make things up 😂
The reason for that was because at the time the infamous Jamaican Shower Posse gangs were mashing up their opposition in the streets of America.
Bill Paxton - such a legend! Only person to get fragged by both an Alien and a Predator
And the Terminator
And titanic and twister
I can't see the eyes of the demon until he comes callins, this is dread, man. Truly dread!
*till him come callin
“This *BE* dread, mon,” is how I’d remembered it for years.
"in the future all detectives will dress like their from the 1990s pretending its the 1950s" why didn't that come true?
LAs most vicious drug lord lives in an Alley that was genius
I think that was his meeting location 😆
"You know, you guys really oughta cut down" 😄
Hilarious!😂
Inter Galactic Style@@Balt9mm
Hot boxing a car in front of a police station love it ❤
0:21 Also those Oversized joints are ridiculously big 😂
Then you haven't seen real Jamaican smoke parties.❤😂😂
I've seen a page of newspaper rulled to a j and shared by only 2 guys whilst they were danci g to the reagge!!
At least Hudson survive the Marine ops in LV426
This Jamaicans have style.
an ting
Dang those are GIANT ASS spliffs, they really need to cut down ;)
0:38 that laugh gives me life
Interesting thing in this movie from the 90's. King Willie and the Scorpians and all other crime, criminality throughout the film is depicted in a sortof, "welp, it is what it is, nothing we can do about it" mentality, a very defeatist attitude. In California today, it's even worse.
KIng wilie will see you now !!!! How is this not a song !
“I don’t know who he is but I know where he is”
03:20 same alley as in Terminator I
"De uddah side"..
@ 0:40... This movie goes over the top in some instances and here's an example: everybody in the car is handling a splif, except for perhaps the driver
Fookin voodoo magic mon
so that guy was just waiting in that alley for who knows how long
Back in the day a man had a bone to wait all the time needed
One thing I always wondered. Did Willie’s gang just chill out while he got decapitated?
I thought about this as well... The gang might be also aware something eerie was around the city, there's nothing they could do or noone to blame.
Man he must have been high as fffffffffffffffffffffffff after that car ride.
2nd best in the predator series ❤.1987 is the best for ever 😊
Back when LA was a safe city!😱😱
The tag was California 183 UKT ✌
I want him
How did king willy No about the Predator? 😮
I forgot the name but he used a type of "old black magic". The bones he tossed. So in old times, people would see visions, and they would toss the bones and the bones would show them a future, eveytime they tossed it, a new future can be soon, or new outcome. But when King Willie tossed them, they were always in the same position, meaning the same future l. He didn't know about the predator being an alien, but saw it as a demon from the other side.
Chances are Willie knows the lore that was passed down to him from hunts in the past. Yautja like hot weather. The Caribbean is hot. Also there were lots of conflicts there from Colonial powers invading, fighting each other for control, the age of piracy, the Spanish American War, all sorts of revolutions to possibly stories of hunts in Africa passed down by his ancestors. Dark Horse comics even published a story of a hunter fighting pirates in the Caribbean as the origin of the flintlock pistol the boss Predator gives Harrigan at the end of the movie.
That makes sense.🤔@@Ideo7Z
" Uma mão lava a outra uma ova".
Ditemi una cosa io vivo on europa non so i fatti delle vostre citta oltro oeano ma i giamaicani veramente facevono paura a losangeles
marked for death movie

What song plays in the Cadillac?
Papa dee,,, fake and letting steam off
This director single handedly destroyed what could’ve been a promising franchise. After he was somehow allowed to make “Lost In Space” the studios officially had enough.
Theres some cool shots in this movie though, despite all of its shortcomings. The acting and the dialogue was pretty awful in this movie. The action scenes were ok.
I disagree, it's people's attitude about this movie that did that, not the movie itself. This movie could've been a hit if people weren't so hung up on Arnold not being in it back then.
@@ll1ll1ll1ll1llShane Black? Shane Black’s character, Hawkins, died in the first Predator.
@@ll1ll1ll1ll1ll Shane Black was director and co-writer for *The* Predator(2018) not Predator(1987).
@@ll1ll1ll1ll1ll Yep. You’re right. I was unaware of how much involvement he had in this movie. My apologies.
