Wow. The amount of time you spent on certain pictures, but the result is amazing. The most I have spent is 6 hours. Nowhere near your portraits. Love it!
This man me cry man. Here i am feeling down cause I've been trying to draw USAIN BOLT and failing. No matter how much I shade I just can't crack getting the details like u and all the great artist I see, this has motivated me to keep trying. I hate drawing realistically cause it is so hard but just cause I hate it doesn't mean I should avoid it as I won't get better. U thought me this quote and it is very powerful. Congratulations your art now is truly legendary.
Hey Leo, I understand how you are feeling, I remember crying myself to sleep because I practiced drawing hairs for hours but it still looked like garbage. It never gets worse, it only gets better. As long as you keep going you'll improve, even if it's at least 1% every single day, small yes, but in one year that's 365%. 💪💪💪💪💪💪
This is so inspiring!! I used to draw when I was a kid, and I was really good, but then I stopped....and I am so sad about that. I am getting back into it....40 years later thanks to you!!
We are in the same shoes bro but I'm glad I've resumed again I want to improve n add it as a side job .... I want to improve on pencil realistic art n I don't sleep anymore...I'm a photographer n cinematographer I've been improving all through my photography career just like him in spec of 3 to 4 years it a long way but I swear ill never give up on art from pencil to vfx n broadcasting.... I don't need school to be the best I just need motivation
Same thing with me, I could never draw from my mind though, all of my childhood drawings are replications of cartoon characters, but I am getting back into it and starting from the absolute basics, I think I will make a yt channel to keep me motivated.
I believe you're ready for world portrait contests. I'd love to see you win a few of those prestigious events. You deserve to, for sure and for certain!
What I learn is the more time you spend and the more details you put the more realistic the art becomes,I’ve been drawing for 2 months and I’ve reach the point of hyper realistic.
When I was nine, I used to draw really well for my age. But I had been distracted for about like 5 years and it really effected my drawing skills, couldn't draw (shade) Like I used to. I regret this and hope to improve in the future. I have started drawing again from 2022 even though I am not very active. Thank you for encouraging us fellow artist, man.
Imagine how good you’ll be in another 7 years 😃 If you’re looking for video ideas i think a tutorial on shading specifically from very dark to light in a small space would be really informative. I always have trouble getting over the hurdle in my mind of creating a harsh shadow line without unintentionally dragging the gradation from dark to light further and further until the difference in contrast isn’t as it should be. I hope that’s understandable.
I think I understand what you mean. So you are saying that you want to blend the shadows to the highlight but you don't want it to be sort of 'overblended' where the dark tones stretch further and further into the highlight. Is this right?
@@JasonLegendaryArt - exactly right. That “sharp” line between shadow and highlight can be daunting for less skilled people like me and it can end up as you said, overblended. It then takes away from the contrast and makes the drawing look 2d again but yeah you nailed it, i haven’t seen any other channel mention it ever and i assume it’s a fairly common issue so it would be a cool video to learn from :)
I started drawing 8 years ago and I am finally to the point where I can say I am pretty good now. It can be so defeating to work so hard for many years and see other people "get it" it within a year, 2 years, 5 years. But here I am still making the same mistakes. I am thankful for people like you that help me grow in my skills. I am going at my own pace but I will get there, even if it takes me another 8 years. Thanks for your tutorials and expertise. And thanks for sharing your progress - amazing work!
Brother, you have a taught me a lesson to follow. Constant practice creates a better version of oneself, I am willing to do that for 3 months in my own field. Thanks for the motivation
Thank you so much Jason for all of your tutorials. I aspire to be an amazing artist like you and I love your techniques. I look up to you like you looked up to Chris Samba. I’ve been over to see his techniques, but I enjoy yours much better. I would love if you had the time to make more detailed videos that were a little longer. I’m trying to draw your eye, but finding I need some more details on a few steps. Thank you for all that you do! Keep being awesome!
Hello J'Lah, I enjoyed reading your comment. You say the kindest things. And don't worry, I'm making arrangements to publish longer tutorials showing the complete processes
Thank you so much for this video. I have started drawing again after many years. And, seeing your progession has reminded me that it is a journey. Thank you so much
Am getting motivated Mr Jason, l started to be serious in 2022 and thus when l get motivated, when l started watching you tube videos including of yours, l used to take it for granted long back, but am getting motivated by those videos, right now have drawn my friend's pic, and people are admiring, also it's because of insufferable resources to speed up my art works. Heeey, Boy have I missed you, Sam. And yes, you're right, being consistency is the key. It sounds simple until the thought of giving up comes. One will have to fight it every time.

Yeah, it's never too late. It doesn't matter when you start, as long as it's something that you love doing, you'll see results when you put in enough practice.
Wow... Amazing..Jason is really a legend✌️ Your art journey is heart melting and encouraging...I'd say a big well done for being consistent and diligent..This is a challenge for upcoming artists like me not to give up.. Thank you
Hey Toria, you say the kindest things. I'm happy you were inspired by my art journey. And, yeah anyone can become better by being consistent; showing up every day for art. it's easier than it sounds but it's fact.
This is so inspiring! I myself drew all my life, but started seriously last Christmas. Last spring I started drawing every day (obviously getting breaks too once or twice a week) and it helped so much!!! I still have a loooong way to go!!! But I'm so happy I found your video. So inspiring
Great video, great suggestion to work on your craft daily to improve. The journey to art is a process, one can truly see your progression. The art you create is just astonishing….🤩 Thank you for sharing!!
@@JasonLegendaryArt Can you help me with portraits please? I don't know what I have there wrong and I would like to paint my mommy before she will be gone. Because my parents are elder.
