    We have loads of different workouts coming your way over the coming weeks, workouts you can do at home or at the gym. You can use equipment and weights or not if you don't have any or prefer not to.
    This 5 min warm up is for you to refer to & this will help raise your heart rate, your body temp, get fluid moving around your joints and thus make you ready for a better, safer workout.

      You are right! It is far too stressful to be a start up. And that is coming from a trainer. Start with a light jog before you do this!

      Yeah, ... sorry but if you let beginners start with this exercise as a warm up, they snap a muscle. You say 'we all have to start somewhere', but, preferably not with an injury.

    For the record, doing the leg swings, jumping jacks/star jumps BEFORE the other exercises might be better for some people. Leg swings and jumping jacks are warm up maneuvers but squats, press ups and lunges are actual exercises. Though I normally agree with "The Lean Machines" the order of these warm up techniques is something I would alter, especially for beginners. Do what feels right for you though.

    My dayly warm up routine, everyday I hear "wassup team and welcome to your pre workout warm up" sometimes I try to imitate the accent😅

    1:02 this warm up exercise will already tear a thigh muscle or injure the knee if you are a little overweight, and you did not do any stretching at the beginning

    For some strange reason, most gym instructors in India make you do cardio for warm ups. I personally hate the treadmill and the cycle and prefer to go for a swim in the morning to do my quota of cardio. I was just trying out your warm up moves at home and loved it. Thanks man.     perfect timing! I haven't been warming up properly or long enough and my muscles are tense after six days in a row . tomorrow will be rest day but I'll be adding in this warm up now ...

    Bro i was gonna start a workout after a week of no exercising but i feel like it my shock my body so i found this. At the middle of the vid my heart was pumping like crazy and im breathing so heavily too. Damn this warm up is so hard.

    Thanks this is exactly what I was looking for! It is like you read my mind and gave me just what I needed right when I needed it. About a week ago, I had decided to start working out using your "My First Home Workout" video from Feb. 22 this year. To avoid a setback, I knew that I needed to warm up so I didn't hurt myself right out of the gate-- but as you say it is a grey area. So along with showing me, thank you for speaking about it and explaining very plainly how it benefits all the different parts and systems of my body. You are the best. Cheers

    What about doing a slightly shorter pre-workout, just some stretching, and then hitting the elliptical for 10-15min ?

      You shouldn't really stretch before a workout (unless it's dance)

      Stretching is a good idea but only after you have warmed up your muscles so warm up first, then stretch and then workout. If possible, stretch again after the workout. This helps to reduce soreness and prevent injuries.

      +JOH You should stretch. You should just warm up first. Warming up first gets blood circulating into the muscles, joints and other tissues which primes your body for stretching. If you stretch the muscles "cold" you have a higher likely hood of provoking spasms and even injury. Keep in mind, this refers to morning workouts in which your body has not done much activity before exercising. If you work out towards the end of your day, your body SHOULD be warm enough to stretch.

      JOH like Jocey R said, doing "cold stretches" can actually do more harm than good, and can cause injuries more easily. I wouldn't recommend doing static stretches at all, unless to improve flexibility at the END OF A WORKOUT. If you do choose to stretch, make sure they are dynamic stretches.

    This shocked my legs so hard.
    The pain is still there after 2 days
    The reason of a warmup is so that youre body wont be shocked from the workout and this warmup is hard asf.

    Hello there, been doing this warm-up for over 3 months now, very beneficial; the only question I have is, should the knees surpass the toes? I've heard some ppl say they shouldn't, that's it's too much stress on the ankles. Yet I could be wrong but in this video it seems like his knees are surpassing his ankle, what do you think?

      I'm skinny but I'm a runner, so you should warm up before go to run don't stretch your body because it will make you injury, you can start for stretching after you finish your run. Hope that helps you

    i play football and after playing i take 20 min rest and after that i go to gym do i have to do warm up before exercising?

      Yes, only 5 mins light cardio, and 5 mins stretching, because the 20 mins rest will cool your muscles back especially if you will play legs muscles in the gym

    If you have not done exercise for a long time or new to exercise you may want to try an easier warm up as I feel this could cause injury if you don't have core stability to perform single lunges. In the past I've come out the gate doing to much to soon and ended up with an injury. Listen to your bodies peps.

    im 180 cm
    and im btw 72-75 kg
    i have no muscle
    so i think this warm up could destroy me before the workout or no ?
    i havent started the workout yet tho
    i dont nd a big body but a healthy one with some muscle on it
    some advices ?

      It is not hard at all. Now i know that this question is not relevant at all now, but i still thought that I'm gonna leave this comment here saying that at the time of posting am 15 years old, weigh 51 kg and my height .... wait for it..... 181cm ! I have been working out for 3.5 months now after being in a hospital for quite some time am have gained 3.something kilos in muscle mass !
      I guess what I'm trying to say is - The only way to build muscle, no matter how gradually, is to stay up to your diet (specially crafted for you needs), workout consistently, passionately, and always pushing to your physical limits no matter how tired you may get.
      Given that this comment is in a beyond relevant section and I've written far more text that a usual human is willing to read, i just want somebody, anybody, who reads this text to reply in any way/shape/form so I can rest knowing that I haven't wasted 12 minutes writing this and that somebody has read this. And if you have i imagine you've wasted some time here with me but I sure hope you found it helpful. Because every person who writes comment wants to be acknowledged. And as always, keep up the work-out!

      I'm 185 and 60 Kg... And i know that my imc is very low, so i can tell that urs is fine. Do u have fat ? If u dont have fat with such an IMC (im not sure its called IMC in English) then what do u have ? U can only have meat, which means muscles ofc :3..

    Don't do stretching before workout do warm up its base on scone cause warm up increase your blood flow that's why body builders are more energetic and while the stretching increase the flexibility that's it
