I'm in South East Texas! Our monsteras love our weather. If you crack a window close to your monsteras I have noticed that it provides a good level of humidity. I love all monsteras. The adonsodia are one of my all time favorites.
Hi, I enjoyed your video, it was very helpful. I love monsters adensonii as well but I am not too familiar with their care. Thank you for the reassurance you gave me in caring for them!
This is SO helpful, a good watering schedule is my biggest issue but we will get on track and hopefully my monstera will thrive! 🤞also S/O to Houston from Austin TX!
Hey Jackie great video Monstera Adansonaii is my favorite plant to look at. Yours are very nice. I love them. Do you have a recommendation for grow light for winter? I want to keep them big and healthy throughout the year.
Yeah, I'm Australian and I used to think I was a total green thumb. Then I moved to London and the light quality is really bad even with big south facing bay windows and I have to run a humidifier 24/7 to hit 40%. All my houseplants suffer from some combination of brown tips, small leaves and being really leggy. My Adonsonii have been the most successful but have been getting the occassional yellow leaf lately. Hopefully being more careful about the watering will help. Thanks for the tip.
So Lovely, monstera is always in the list in the top 10 house plants in the world, because of its Jungle Beauty💚🌱,, and your so lovely too😊,, stay Safe!
Such an informative video, thank you 😊 I am having a terrible time with my adansonii! Its very young, currently only 6 leaves with a new one coming. However, I'm losing an old leaf about every 2 weeks! They gradually turn completely yellow then fall off. She's 6 feet back from an East facing window so getting plenty of light without scorching. The soil is a mixture of potting soil, orchid bark and perlite. The soil stays damp for a long time so I'm currently watering every 2 weeks but could I be under watering? I'm scared of over watering! Please help 😅
Really great guide! The only thing I would add is actually touching the soil to see if a watering is needed. I'm not strict about a schedule, but I am always touching soil to know when it's time to water
Help! I was given a clipping, and she's been doing well since I potted her. She gave me a few new little leaves. But now she has stopped giving me leaves, only a BARE 15" vine... No leaves. What could be causing this fast growth no leaves? (She sits in my kitchen near East Facing window, close to sink with lots of other plants to help with humidity).
Thank you for this! I knew I wasn't overwatering them. But I had it in a window and one leaf turned yellow so I repotted in a bigger pot with better drainage but notice another leaf a little yellow and scorched like yours. Do you recommend just removing it? I also put it away from the window.
Your water schedule is constant throughout the year or is it different for winter and summer. ? If so, can you please share for both seasons ? Similarly, fertilizer during both seasons - how frequent in summer and in winter ?
Do you use a moisture meter to check the soil before watering ? Both of my adansonii have crispy leaves and brown spots. The soil meter says that the moisture is high so the plants are not under watered. But I wonder if I should put both plants on a regular weekly watering schedule anyway.
Hi I have my monstera andasonii for like 3-4 wks. They just started tearing on a few and brown on one . I bought it from a nursery so it was small and Pretty ! Now it’s still pretty and growing new leaves but i notice tear . Would yu know why . I do keep a ceiling fan close by coils that be it ? Also I have a water meter , what is on number scale to water my plant ? To make sure I’m not over watering it
Hi I live in Toronto. So we are getting less light, and my apartment is a little colder. My monstera has been fine during winter months so far. I noticed that the lower leaves are starting to yellow. Its in a drainage pot and when I checked the bottom it was wet. I am not sure what to think. I water once a week. Do you think im over watering? Im so afraid of it dying on me. Plz help.
This might be a stupid question but I just got a monsterra adansonii in the mail and some of the leaves are ripped and some are crushed. Should I remove them or will the plant just replace them? The whole plant looks a little flattened but I’m hoping it will bounce back to shape now that It’s out of the box?
No question is a stupid question! Over time it should perk back up. The plant will grow new leaves but won't replace them! I would just let the plant recover from the stress of transit before you remove it. Hope that helps!
@@jackie9704 thank you for writing back. I was just worried because I didn’t know if it would look bad as it started to vine. Wasn’t sure if it would just be best to cut back and let it start over. Appreciate the help!
A while ago my monstera adansonii starting having yellow leaves. The soil looked very tight at the top, like it didn't have place to grow so I repotted it, but now it looks like it's doing worse.... Like 10 leaves of the 30 I have are turning yellow and it just makes me so sad, but I just don't know what's going on
Oh no, I'm so sorry to hear that! Maybe the repotting stressed the plant out? If the roots were healthy when you repotted, I think it will be able to bounce back!
How do you know how much water to give them? My monstera has leaves yellowing/browning and shrivelling up at the bottom for a few months now but it is still sending up new leaves. I water it quite regularly but maybe I'm not giving it enough? I also think I will move it because it is on a windowsill in a South facing direction, it was happy there in winter but now it is spring I think it is getting too hot.
Shriveled n brown leaves open up if u place a tiny water bucket next to the plant. It solved the issue with my monstera as well as syngonium. And yes, water less frequently.
Thank you for the information!!be careful about hurricane!!
I can't get over those LEAVES!!!
Your watering tip, YES!!! They need a strict watering schedule (I've learned...), but she's coming back and growing!!
Aah so glad your plant is coming back ✨ thank you for watching!

Gorgeous girl with the beautiful plants ❤️🌿🌿🌿

Yes I totally agree with you 💖 thank you for watching!
I mist my adansonii twice a day. I don’t have a humidifier so that trick works for me.

Where can I get a moss pole? How do I get it started,? This is my first
Could you show the stuff you use on your potting mix

Why would my plant be curling ? Inward?
My shredded cheese plant its leaves are going really well but it's very yellowed and I don't know why it's like that.
Maravilhosa planta💚
Muchas gracias ❤️
Love monstera but no matter wat I did still have letoolw leaves
What moss pole do you use? I got one and it was awful quality
Is there anything wrong with mine if the leaves are a little wavey?
Maybe that could be inconsistent watering or a leaf getting stuck as it unravels, that has happened to my plants before!
