Great tutorial. I adore the MM. Adansonii. Really good to know about the Uppotting every year. Maybe a little bit scary after several years. LOL Might end up growing in a large garbage can. Well lets hope. I had a narrow leaf cutting I babied along and managed to get a few small rooted cuttings to make the plant larger. Then lucked into two clearance pots at my not so local grocery sale on half price. I put them all together but maybe thinking now I should have used a larger pot. I was combining three 4 inch planted pots into a 6 by 9 pot which is actually an oval dollar store small trash can. Lots of new leaves and just a few yellow bottom leaves I believe from the transplanting. Saving your video to refer back to for care tips.

I got my first Monstera Adonsonii today. Had an awful experience, the plant that got delivered is a fragile looking single stem one, with just 3 leaves . I’m just praying it survives. Your adansoni plants are so healthy and beautiful, touchwood.
Hello Ruchika, Oh I am very sorry to hear about your experience! I hope you have luck getting your plant acclimated into its new environment. I would get a few more rooted cuttings and a larger pot and fill it in, make it what you dream of! You’ve got this! I will have adansonii on my website when it launches. Is yours wide form or narrow?
@@plantluxxe thanx for replying! Keeping my fingers crossed 🤞🏼. Although it’s difficult to make out from the puny 3 leaves , looks like it’s the broad leaves version. Will definitely take up your advice on filling out the pot with more cuttings. Thank you
best monstera adansonii video! thank you!!!! Can you show us how to put the pole the first time? what kinf of pole and how do you cange it when it becomes bigger than the pole. thank you very much! greetings from Italy
Very helpful! I got a couple cuttings last year from the tips of one growing in a clothing store. The leaves were tiny, tiny and I was sure it would die but after about 9 months now, I’ve taken a second round of cuttings, water propagated them and have a nice 5” pot full of rooted vines that are growing at an alarming rate (a new leaf a day). Mine is still immature and the fenestrations are nonexistent for many leaves but I now believe I have a miniature version of narrow form. The largest leaf on the mother plant is 1/4 size of an average narrow form leaf. Compared to yours, my leaves are 10% the size. Lol! I’m creating miniature moss poles this week. I wish I could explain how magical the leaves look... like someone imbedded them with glitter and velvet. They reflect light in the most beautiful way. Watching the fenestrations come as they mature is fascinating as well... SUCH a rewarding plant.

Thanks for the in-depth review and care advice! I have a question, I noticed you said you use miracle grow for soil, what is your reasoning for using the Jacks? Is it cost effective in your area or a different reason maybe?? Thank you! New sub!
Hello! Thank you for commenting and watching🌿💚 I use Jack’s because my local nursery uses it to fertilize their plants. Every year I went there I noticed how gigantic the flowers and leaves were, so I asked them what they used. 💚🌿 I use a few other things besides Jack’s that I think help too. Hope this helps. Also, I used miracle grow in the beginning of my plant journey because it is an even mix and retains water very well for most specialties of plants. 🪴 I’d you over water though, have poor/unfavorable lighting, etc it’s not a great choice.😂 it’ll attract those pesty gnats with over watering😂

OEMGEE! I've been looking for a detailed step by step video of adansonii since the day I was born. I'm so glad I found you! So informative, thank you soooo much. I have questions 1) I have few adansoniis, the new leaves are way smaller and paler, 2) my two totems are very temperamental, when I water them the lower leaves turn yellow, if I wait till the first few inches of the soil to dry out, some of the leaves will have crispy edges!! What am I doing wrong?! I placed them as follows: in front of east facing window, 8 feet away from east facing window, 10 feet away from west facing window. Please help. Thanks heaps.

Excellent and informative video. Your Adansonii are so healthy and gorgeous. I'm propagating 4 cuttings I bought, they are tiny and a little sad looking- hopefully i can yield a healthy plant
Thank you for sharing your beautiful plants!☺ I can't wait to get my monstera adansonii today, I'm much more excited now that I saw this video, thanks!😁💕
Your plants are beautiful! How did you initially get it to grow up the pole? I have a gigantic plant that is a couple of years old and i want to get it to climb. Is it too late? Thanks for any advice to anyone that can comment back!
Hi! Thank you for watching! It’s never too late to stake up your 🪴 plant…. You should do it! I like using a moss pole or prestapled wooden pole. They are easy to make!
Hello! Only one of my plants is on a moss pole. The rest are wood. Ariel roots cling to wood easily, so that's my preferred method. Thanks for watching!
Her Monstera is so big! And bushy. I love it. I saw another woman and hers almost touched her ceiling. I bought my monstera Andsonii in August and it seems to be doing well. I accidentally moved it into the sun a bit and a leaf grew out deformed and burnt (half the leaf was crispy and black lol) It's slowed down now that it's Dec. Anyways it's lost 3 leafs but I heard it's normal for some plants to do that. I never knew they needed to be re-potted every year. Mine only has 6 leaves (but another is already coming out), so it's still immature....I'm dying to propagate it but I dont know, when I can do that. When is a good time to start cutting a Monstera adansonii to make it more bushy? Should I wait a year?
Hi Melissa! I cut mine several times a year… it started small but then over time grew so much. My very first one ever, I killed by overwatering it. I can create an updated video about this plant and post a updated video. I have grown so many big ones since this video was published and have a lot more advice that I have leaned over the years. Thank you so much for watching and commenting 🌿❤️ stay tuned for a need release soon!
That is true. That is the same reason for the fenestrations in a Monstera d. It also helps with water being able to come into contact with its roots. Since the plant is semi-epephytic the water is able to hit the roots that are attached to whatever it is climbing. These plants are also get root rot easily, so potting in a terra cotta pot is more commonly recommend. Also be careful with a peat based mix. With a large plant the peat will break down much faster needing to be repotted more. And it also does not have very good drainage so it can collect water in the soil causing root rot. This is just what I have learnt from school and experience so take it with a grain of salt. Loved the video
They are gorgeous. Ive just started growing plants and I bought one of these but it only has 4 cutting coming out of the pot. Its about 6 weeks old and has grown probably 2 feet! I made a round totem and im just wraping around it so the leaves are evenly full around the totem. Question, is it ok that im cossing over other stems/vines? Will it choke eachother out or is this ok? I now know that I need way more cutting in one pot to start out to get a FULL look. Also, can I add new cutting to a 5 week old plant? Thank you!
I just want to say that this program has helped me do ore than just care for my plants. It has helped me to understand them on a much more personal level. Plants are my medicine and watching her talk about them in detail has really taught me a lot even when I thought I knew it all lol. Thank you for always being so detailed!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I would love to see how you can take care of palms like the arcea though. Mine ALWAYS grows in with 'bleached' tips to its leaves and has always been happy and cared for but those darn yellow tips are haunting me!!! Everyone watch and learn from this women, she is very knowledgeable!!
I think the Swiss Cheese plant may be my favorite. I'm just starting and learning along the way. I saw someone was able to use 100% pumice for the Monstera. It was growing beautifully. Are you able to use the same technique (100% pumice) in a bigger planter such as yours?
Hello! I use a special aroid mixture that I love. No, I haven’t used only pumice, so I can’t speak to that. The mixture I use is included in my soil video. Thank you for watching and commenting! 🪴♥️
Mine got mould on it about a week after I bought it so I changed the soil about a week later (as soon as I could) when re potting I checked for root rot and pulled off any questionable roots but since then its steadily started drooping and some leaves are starting to yellow and even fall off completely. I have about 24 leaves on it and like 1/3rd of it is still fully green and not droopy but I'm so scared it dies
Wow love you plants I am a new subscriber can you tell me the plant you transplant, was that just one plant or more plants in one pot. Looks stunning! Love it! All the way from Perth Western Australia
Yes, Absolutely! GREAT question! When I propagate, I usually do 25 to 30 in for a large pot. Smaller pots, 15. Tiny pots, 8 to 10. My giant one has too many to count...the wide form has 15. I put propagations in the bottom to encourage them up the pole..... thanks for watching! Come see me soon!💚🌿🌱🌞
@@plantluxxe Thank yo so much for the reply . I don't know if my reply earlier was posted . Anyway I currently have 35 cuttings and thankfully all of them have rooted and will be ready to plant . I will post you with the progress . Thank you again for the helpful information and for the awesome tutorial video !
I had mine in my low light bathroom for six months and it was SUPER leggy, so I moved it to the sunroom, but you’re now saying that will be too bright?! I feel like I can’t get it right with this plant!
Thanks for watching my videos! Yes, you can put your adansonii in your sunroom as long as the light isn't sooo direct that it scorches the leaves... for example, I sometimes put mine in my south facing window but pulled back about 3 to 4 feet.
You might want to trim the leggy parts to encourage adventitious growth. Stick them in water and later add them to your pot for a larger/ more full plant, OR create a new plant altogether!💚🌱🌱🌿😊
How exactly do you stake yours? It looks like You’re not using a moss pole. I would love to not have to because I can never keep it wet enough anyway. Details please! I’d appreciate it so so much.
Hi Steph! I made my own pole...I will do a video on staking and demonstate exactly how I did it! Stay tuned! Thanks for watching, I really appreciate it!❤🌿💚💚

Hi,Plantlux my name is Dorothy and I love you plant and I want to no where you get your monttera Adansonii from because I live in Miss county and I been very look Thanks you. I love your plant show Have a bless day
Thank you for the informative video on growing Monstera Adansonii & how to pronounce it! I have a question. How do you water your house plants without getting those nasty fungus gnats that are all over my studio apartment? They are driving me crazy. I usually water from the base of the plant in the saucer, because I understand they hang out in the top 2 inches of the soil. It's helpful, but I'm not sure my plants are getting all they need. Christa, help please! Thank you
Hello! I must have missed this message somehow! Very sorry about that! Fungus gnats are the pits Try these ideas: diatomaceous earth I think I spelled that correctly 🤣😂 Mosquito bits Mosquito traps Bowls or cups of old wine or beer or fresh if you don’t have any old ones Don’t over water , they are really hard to get rid of ! I had a huge infestation in my dracaena one time and I just stopped watering it and I used a peroxide mix to kill them. They eventually died. Real cinnamon works too but it has to be real. Hope this helps!🪴🌿💕
Hi Ruth! I will do a video on that soon. I got the pole at lowes outdoors section and cut it in half... then I wrapped it in help rope. It really did the trick. My monstera adansonii loved it. It began at bottom and grew past the top! Thank you for watching! Come back soon and often😍🌿🌱💚🌿
What plant is that behind the one one the left looking at the video not your left in the video if that makes sense, the big leafed plant can you please tell me? I need one of those for my water dragon enclosure
One of your earlier videos you sid not to fertilize the wide leaf. So are you saying here it is good for the narrow form but not the wide form?? Thanks!!
I received one in the mail yesterday and sadly several of the leaves were crushed and torn. Should I cut the plant where those leaves are torn, or does the plant replace them? It appears to be pretty bushy and I’m afraid if I leave the damaged leaves there it will just grow out and look ugly or bare at the base of the vine. Any ideas or advice?
Oh my! I had this happen to me! Sadly, the damaged leaves died. But the rest of the plant actually did well and now is almost too big for my house! haha! You could propagate it? Or, buy another one and put two in a giant pot! :"-)
Hello, I keep mine between 60 and 80. . . I try to keep it high in my home. I also keep the temperature between 70- 75. If your plants look healthy and are responding well to 50, I say stick with it? Thank you for watching my videos.
@@plantluxxe thanks a lot for replying. I learned a lot from your videos. I am so jealous with your adansonii. I cannot make mine happy. should probably need to work on my humidity. Hope you can also visit me at Balby's home. I am just starting. Your comment to make me improve would be greatly appreciated.
Hi! Cut under the node…the mode is where all the roots will form. When in doubt, wrap moist Sphagnum around the aerial roots and put Saran Wrap around that. It’ll grow more roots…cut, stick in soil. You don’t need to do this though because the root is already there
@@plantluxxe so if I want to make more stems on the plant itself. Such as multiple nodes on delisiosa for the momma plant and not to propagate, how do I do this? I would lie to make my mother delisiosas fuller with multiple leaves coming from each stem. I have seen some with multiple nodes about an inch from each other on the stems. This is my goal but where do they grow from if I cut the leaves off above the nodes? Will this create multiple nodes or am I better off cutting below and propagating the cuts? I hope this wasn't confusing. I want to make each stem off of the main stem to have lots of leaves coming forth from them to create a full and bushy plant

I've just got my adansonii today! excited to see it's growth 🤩 Thank you the video!! Very informative indeed 🙌🏻
Thanks for the great tips you've shared in taking care of monstera adansonii😊
Hello! Thank you for your kind words and very much for commenting and watching my video! May I answer your questions in a video? I would love to create a video that answers these,as I think viewers would really find helpful! Thank you so much for asking these questions!🌿💕🪴
@@plantluxxe Thank you....looking forward to the video...
Humidity ?? I think must keep one of my round form adanasonii in my bathroom , with indirect natural light . I think it would do good there .
Thank you for watching and commenting🪴💕 I appreciate your support! I use Elechomes humidifiers…I have 4 around my home. Bathroom is great place for any tropical plant where there’s good lighting! Great info, thank you for sharing 💕🪴
@@plantluxxe Thank you for you Kind Response :)
hi thank you so much for sharing!! i was wondering what type of soil you used when repotting your monstera?
Hi! I use the same soil mixture as in this video:

Excellent and informative video. Your Adansonii are so healthy and gorgeous. I'm propagating 4 cuttings I bought, they are tiny and a little sad looking- hopefully i can yield a healthy plant

What fertilizer do you use and how often? Great video! Super informative!
I use Jacks 20/20/20 every time I water … I dilute it. Thank you for watching and commenting🌿💚
Thank you for such a lovely and well explained video. I killed my first Adansonii but now I think I can handle a second attempt.🪴❤️🌿❤️🌿❤️🌿❤️🪴
YAY! I hope you are loving y our new plant! I am addicted to propagating mine, that's for sure! thanks for watching my videos!
@@plantluxxe thank you so much!! I'm going to try it!
Great video. I was wondering whether you keep your moss poles moist to encourage aerial roots to cling to them.
I think the its was more of an adaption to windy conditions as the climb, without the holes the leaf would snap more.
That's an interesting point. Where do you get your research?
Thank you!
Hi Austin! 🪴💕🌿thank you for watching and commenting!
HI Megan! My heart feels so warm reading all of your sweet thoughtful comments. Thank you so much!

Great, informative video!!! Thx!
Cut mine back to remove all the damaged leaves. It has grown back and look much better now. Looks like its ready to climb any moment now.
I love this plant!....thanks for the video.

How did it go? Did your plant die or is it still alive?
I just found one yesterday at a local shop. Yay!
YES! Awesome!! Thanks for watching!
Wow love you plants I am a new subscriber can you tell me the plant you transplant, was that just one plant or more plants in one pot. Looks stunning! Love it!
All the way from Perth Western Australia
Amazing video .Would you be able to tell us how many vines do you have in each of the big pots ?
@@plantluxxe Should I wait for warmer weather? It’s still brisk and chilly here in Wales in March...
Really help me a lot! THANK YOU
How exactly do you stake yours? It looks like
You’re not using a moss pole. I would love to not have to because I can never keep it wet enough anyway. Details please! I’d appreciate it so so much.
Hi Steph! I made my own pole...I will do a video on staking and demonstate exactly how I did it! Stay tuned! Thanks for watching, I really appreciate it!❤🌿💚💚
Your plants are healthy, and beautiful! Sorry to ask. Do you sale plants?
Selling plants is in the near future....When my plants are ready and I have my website up and running, I will announce the launch here. Thanks for watching my videos!
so how many plants are in the huge pots? I have 2 climbing up so high and wonder if i should put more in!
Put more in!!!!! Plants bring me positive and awesome energy …The more the better!
Hi, mine is doing very small leaves at the end of the plant... I love it suspended so I dont have a pole. Is it the reason why?
Hi Amelie! Yes. The leaves stay small unless they grow up a stake or a wall or a tree, e.t.c like they would in their natural habitat. Thank you for watching my videos!💚💚🌱😍❤🌿🌞🌞🌿🌱
Do you ever worry about spider mites or pests given how big your plants are? Do you do anything as a precaution to keep them away?
Hello! I use neem oil every month as a preventative. Thank you so much🙏♥️ and also thank you for watching and commenting 💕🪴
@@plantluxxe Thank you so much for getting back to me. Do you have a video on it? Do you just mix the solution and spray it on your plants?

Thank you so much🙏♥️ have a blessed day! 🪴🌿
Thanks for sharing your experience
Thank you for the informative video on growing Monstera Adansonii & how to pronounce it! I have a question. How do you water your house plants without getting those nasty fungus gnats that are all over my studio apartment? They are driving me crazy. I usually water from the base of the plant in the saucer, because I understand they hang out in the top 2 inches of the soil. It's helpful, but I'm not sure my plants are getting all they need. Christa, help please! Thank you
Hello! I must have missed this message somehow! Very sorry about that!
Fungus gnats are the pits
Try these ideas: diatomaceous earth I think I spelled that correctly 🤣😂
Mosquito bits
Mosquito traps
Bowls or cups of old wine or beer or fresh if you don’t have any old ones
Don’t over water , they are really hard to get rid of !
I had a huge infestation in my dracaena one time and I just stopped watering it and I used a peroxide mix to kill them. They eventually died.
Real cinnamon works too but it has to be real.
Hope this helps!🪴🌿💕
Wooow is awesone... cek for info of monstera adansonii
Thank you so much🙏♥️ and also thank you for watching and commenting 💕🪴
Where did you get the plant poles. I don't seem to be able to find any that large and tall
Can you DM me a picture of the plant in question? I’m not sure which one you’re referring to. Thanks! 🪴❤️
One of your earlier videos you sid not to fertilize the wide leaf. So are you saying here it is good for the narrow form but not the wide form?? Thanks!!
Diluted! Both forms! I am very cautious cuz they get stress marks when I fertilize them like I do my other plants. Half strength!
@@plantluxxe Thanks. I used the regular amount since I got it July 1 but will dilute it from now on So far all seems ok. She/he is growing well.
Great video. Can’t wait to repot mine ! It’s a single vine , so I need to make it more bushy .
That's awesome! Please let me know how it goes! Thank you so much for watching, Jasen! Come back soon and often!🌿🌱💚😍
When you say High humidity? how much is considered high ? is 50 good enough? Thank you
Hello, I keep mine between 60 and 80. .

Where exactly from the point of cut will these plants start to push out babies? From my cut or from the nearest node? Same with deliciosa?
