They better make this. This should have been made before the Celestiq. Everything is so production ready. You already see so many elements on different vehicles that’s already in production. Those wood features are amazing.
It's basically a 2-door convertible Celestiq (what it should have been in the first place) with a MUCH better rear end. It's completely do-able. There is almost no reason not to make this. But you know... Cadillac is Cadillac. They have a history of making incredible concepts that don't reach production. Hope they prove me wrong this time.
@@stephencooper3583I want to like them so bad but their management keeps making stupid decisions over and over and over. Such as not making the cars they show in concept( Escala), cutting corners on stupid stuff. SMH
This feels so much more special than the celestiq. It looks more classy and bespoke than the celestiq and is clearly an homage to Cadillac's golden years in the 40s-60s. Imo, this is the perfect "modern day el dorado" and I hope this goes into production
Case in point. The Escala is stunning and came out as the CT5 NOT A BEAUTY OR A SALES LEADER. No coupes. No verts and no large sedan. I am so disappointed.
That interior wood isn't mid century modern. It's Art Deco. It looks almost like it belongs in the Chrysler Building. This is gorgeous. Considering that this seems to start with the Celestiq, it should be easy to put into production.
Enough already!!! I am tired of decades of Cadillac teasing us with beautiful cars and then delivering pigeon toed, bucktooth, underwhelming corporate underachievers. This is what should be built instead of the orange car behind it. BUILD IT!
Honestly this is what I kind of expected from Cadillac. Seems like they were going in the right path to start back making better luxury cars. This is something we should be seeing from Lincoln and Buick as well. I’m so proud of this and the Escalade. They both are better than their European and Asian rivals
Basically a 2-door, convertible Celestiq. Honestly, this works A LOT better. The Celestiq's hatchback-like rear looks weird and out of place and kind of ruins the whole flow. This version nails it. Since they are already making the Celestiq, they should DEFINITELY do this alongside. I bet this would outsell by at least 3 to 1. Cadillac... don't think... MAKE THIS HAPPEN. Don't let this be yet another awesome concept that never gets made. If you really want to compete with Rolls and Bentley, THIS is how you do it.
In no world would I chose a Rolls or Bentley over this magnificent piece of art. I never thought I'd see a modern car as beautiful as this. The only thing it needs is a V8 engine (probably easy to swap one in aftermarket) to really make it a true Cadillac.
@@ARKAEA33 Nahh that's a bit too much for a Cadillac. They should be V8s, V12s and up are more of an Euro thing in my opinion and I personally think such a big engine, especially W16 or V16, would not suit the car. Best keep it a V8. Granted, the car is so nice as it is now, even as a certified electric car hater I would be so tempted to buy one. I'm the type to easily pick Cadillac or Lincoln over Rolls Royce Merc or Lexus tbh
I honestly don’t know what looks better, the front, side profile, rear end or the interior. It’s ALL stunning. I think the rear and interior are my favorites! Just absolutely blew my mind.
Incredibly striking vehicle. I definitely prefer this over the Celestiq. I've never been a big fan of shooting brake rear proportions and the Sollei dispenses with that ungainly device. I'm willing to bet the convertible top cuts an impressive profile.
I have concept fatigue. All these doable, fabulous [concept] vehicles from Cadillac show that they and GM can make world class transportation, but simply will not produce them which would help Cadillac live up to its' heritage. Why? Why?
Because people who have a deep appreciation for the cadillac heritage will save their money and buy a classic. Cadillac direction right now is to compete with Germany now.
GM/cadillac will have to have a different sales and promotion plan in order to bring this in fruition. Example select certified dealerships that can deliver the over the top sales and service that this car deserves.
They threw down that wood trim... In the best way!! Shows a real freedom of creativity. Very Gastby-ish, and has a roaring’20’s, Art-Deco vibe. Beautiful!!
This concept LOOKS ready for the road. I LIKE the idea of pastel colors. I AM wary of too much windshield rake, possibly because I am a short fella and need to sit close to the controls.
I don't know if there's a market for it over Bentley/Rolls/Maybach, but I hope there is. The rear is so much better than the Lyric/Celestiq. But the doors are ludicrously impractical. I'd suggest a narrow rear suicide door like the i3.
Ok, so they brought out a revised Ciel. The rear profile now reminiscent of the 2021 R-R Boattail. I preferred the Ciel's more pontoon like style, echoing the 1967 Eldorado. I guess this one fits better into the new line up. Lovely Art Deco seat backs. Now that they've done the Ciel II, would be interesting to see the Elmiraj version.
THE COLOR RANGE IS THE END OF 50 YEARS IN CADILLAC, THE MODERN DESIGN IS JUST WOW!!! I WANT TO BUY! AND THE OPPORTUNITY TO BUY I STILL NEED TO WORK. THANKS TO THE CONCERN FOR SUCH A MIRACLE!!!
An unusual choice to put an incandescent lamp front side marker light set when the rest is OLED? I'll still buy it (and swap-out the bulb set immediately for $4). A little disappointed the fins weren't put up high like the ELR, but that would give a '50s vibe I suppose. Still, I'd want those rear vertical lamps as fins, you know?
Agree. The entire car has such a sense of occasion and with uniqueness, and then there's that plank of generic flat-screen like in every other vehicle. So much careful detail and American fanfare for the interior, so as you say, do the same with a real world gauge cluster.
Rolls Royce like. Needs 4 motors one on each wheel. The best ev configuration. The 2 large doors are Gemera like too. Both true 4 seaters. I would like some watch like dials instead of some of the screens. Jewelry fits the car
Bah that is overkill, this is not meant to be a performance car. Dual Motor is more than enough. But mainly needs 48v active suspension to be competent in the corners while gliding in comfort.
As a painter I totally "in synch" with the wood/canvas/leather shape and color design. This is in the art category. I hope they can figure out a way to produce it in some numbers because it looks extremely complicated. Still, the car design itself manages to retain a very classical yet modern look to it
The return of marquetry and parquetry: The buildings of our cities built in the early midcentury displayed a great deal of this type of wood working. I anticipated it would return do the benefits of laser cutting devices. However, I anticipated its return to architecture, not automotive design. Maybe architects will see it in this vehicle and adopt it to their building designs. (Unless fire restrictions limit its use).
It's amazing how this is basically the Celestiq, but looks SOOOO much better. They really dropped the ball with the ugly Celestiq rear end. The front is fine, but the hatchback just doesn't work. The Sollei looks amazing all around. I really hope they built it.

Great video, even better car! Wow. Definitely the most beautiful thing Cadillac has brought to life in a long time. That will go the way of the former Acura ZDX as no one's buying it. This, people will get on waiting lists for. The birding motif though is unfortunate, especially if they're trying to attract younger buyers. Since this is targeted at the Bentley driving set and it's a convertible, I'd suggest its own traffic and weather drone instead.
