I just bought a 2007 Acura MDX from a used dealer as-is with no returns. I learned the ignition was changed because there was only 1 key that has no Acura logo on it so it is generic and it works for turn-key but not on the driver-side door. That tells me the ignition key was replaced and the driver door was for the old key. If the vehicle's battery dies or the key fob dies, that means I am locked out. That is a huge problem. My question is...can a locksmith create a key without the original key? That way I can at least open the door.
