Kingsman: The Secret Service - Pub Fight 60fps FI experimental - sub ESP

  • My favorite scene from 'Kingsman: The Secret Service'. This is completely experimental: frame interpolation looks kind of funny, but I somewhat liked the results.
    Make sure to watch it at least on 720p quality as it is rendered with SVP frame interpolation to achieve 60fps. Due to this, there are some minor graphical glitches present.
    This is my educational attempt in order to make the format more popular, which in my opinion works great in a lot of media, being one of the main ones anime.
    I subtitled it in rioplatense Spanish, I hope you like it.

    Why I see the difference btw 30 fps to 60fps if human eyes see only 24fps. I mean is it the fps who was change or something in this video

    • @AnimiHFR
      @AnimiHFR  6 років тому +2466

      In between frames were added with an algorithm, so this is indeed 60fps (not as good as a native film on that way, obviously). That the human eyes can see a max of 30fps is a myth, as any PC gamer can attest. 24fps was chosen originally because it creates a fake real life like motion blur and also because technical limitations, as film reel was not cheap. Those things combined created what culturally is known as the "cinematic effect/feel" that you see being defended fanatically on the comments.

    • @crumpetboi
      @crumpetboi 6 років тому +125

      Vincent Maltais it speeds the video up so you can see the difference

    • @AnimiHFR
      @AnimiHFR  6 років тому +806

      Speed rate is exactly the same as in the original, in fact is a side by side match. HFR is simply messing with your head: the added frames make you feel the action faster.

    I appreciate that this 1 v group fight isn't just one guy attacking while everyone else stands around waiting their turn. If the others aren't charging in, it's generally because they just knocked silly and they're trying to stand back up or they're otherwise incapacitated while the rest are getting knocked around. Keeps the fight going in at a good flow without feeling cluttered or making you wonder why everyone is just standing there instead of helping.

      Sometimes the others won’t join in because the fight is too erratic or scrappy, other times it’s because they could hinder their side. But this scene knows how to do a group fight properly without running into the aforementioned problems.

      It's kinda hard to attack together unless you're really coordinated with your allies. And turn off that bloody Ramstein song. lol

  • @Minsang1st
    @Minsang1st 5 років тому +1256

    This is my favorite scene in the movie. I thought it was going to take the typical "don't blame others for your shortcomings, blame only yourself", but Harry actually takes Eggsy's argument that it's really not him not wanting, or not trying hard enough, and that he truly doesn't have enough resources and opportunities. He saw the potential in a person whom he also owed quite a bit of debt, and decided to provide him with the resources and the opportunities that Eggsy claims he needed and needs in order to achieve his dreams and meet his potential. And the movie beautifully played out.
    I really loved that. Harry wasn't one of those older guys who think the power of will can get you anything, or the myth of pulling yourself up by the bootstrap. He actually took his time and thought about Eggsy's claim, and followed through with it in order to address the problems that his potential mentee was claiming to face. That's what I think a proper mentoring should be. Actually listening to someone's problems, obstacles, and struggles, and thinking through them to actually address them. Not blatantly and blindingly pointing fingers and criticizing others for not working hard enough.

    When Harry pats Eggsy on the shoulder after he gets up to leave, Eggsy flinches, his bold “up yours” demeanour is completely lost after he sees Harry demolish a 1v6. I mean that obviously makes sense but it’s a damn tiny detail and one that shows how good an actor he is!
    The other thing is that Harry provokes the gang to attack him but before it starts, he invites them to make the first move, therefore making it self Defense instead of him just assaulting people.
    Fine details but it goes a LONG way to fleshing out a character in a story and I’m here for it!

    This movie just made me love Colin Firth even more, I loved him in bridget jones' diary, the king's speech, but him in an action film was just golden, a career coming full circle.

    Yeah well this didn't work for me,
    I got as far as "Manners, mak-" and then suddenly I was punched in the face, stabbed, glass shattered in my head, neck, back, head, and the back of my face, and then I received two gunshot wounds and now I have to get my grandpa a new pair of glasses and a new umbrella for my mom. I used a fake name at the tux rental place so at least I'm good on that part. But the most embarassing thing is that this all happened at the local nursing home... :(

    • @toddkes5890
      @toddkes5890 Рік тому +7

      Eggsy is also putting together the information:
      1) Harry was able to get him out of prison within a day
      2) Harry was very polite the entire time and had a lot of information about Eggsy
      3) Harry was absolutely dangerous in combat, had a variety of equipment that looked normal, and used it as an experienced veteran
      #1 and #2 merely mean a bureaucrat with plenty of access and a very good memory. Very dangerous on its own, but can still mouth off to them.
      #3 shows that Harry also had excellent training, excellent support, and had been doing this sort of stuff for years.
      Together they turned Harry from intelligent and dangerous bureaucrat into elite agent. Figure all of Harry's Marine training was popping back up in his brain telling him to be very polite to the senior officer, plus a lot of the reptile brain telling him 'THREAT/HIDE'.
