I started on a '20 Iron 883, rode it for 10 months and put about 7200 miles on it. Traded it in for my current '21 Softail Standard that I've had for a little over a year and it's sitting at around 8400 miles on in right now. I changed out the stock pipes, seat, and added a Memphis Shades windshield. I haven't decided if I'm keeping it for years to come or not, if I do I will probably have it converted to a trike once I get to the point where I can't balance on two wheels as well anymore, we'll see lol. Safe riding!!

So I’ve owned “Peggy” my 2020 Softail Standard FXST bought new for $13k w/abs that now has 10,009 miles. Whew weeeee, it’s been a good ride. Could have got whatever I wanted but chose her on purpose, with purpose! I agree with most all your points. Stock sounded like crap, and she is the “smallest” engine. That being said, I smoke 114’s all day. 110 SE’s….bye 👋. The difference to me really shows after 60mph, and I’m always reminded, it’s the Rider not the bike💪🏽This little scant 107 is healthy and loves that throttle twisting…if you got a 110, 114 or 117 don’t get caught sleeping cause the 107 will take ya! 😆 My 107 pisses off all my riding buddies💩She is the baby, but has a great torque band and is really playful…easy to put the power to the pavement. I changed my bars, seat, grips, tank lift, saddle bags, led’s, exhaust and all the tuners (SE “approved” tuners). I have had zero issues, runs like a top. Wouldn’t want a Roadglide over this nimble, fun lady ever. To each their own and I found the one that speaks to my soul. Stage 3 coming for sure, new suspension front & rear, custom seat (queen high chair style), relocate turn signals to front off handle bars, relocate rear turn signals, add hard bags….BOOOM! For right now I couldn’t be more impressed with the engine characteristics, available power, sound, handling (very surprising!!) and fun-to-ride factor. Now I better get back to my list in the never ending money pit that this hobby is…. I just thought of something else to buy. Ha! Keep them video’s coming, always enjoy them🙌🏾💪🏽

Wow, Kinda sounds like a kid in candy store, when you are presented with so much choice, what do you do? So you've owned a FXST for 12 months and love your mates low ryder S and want a bit more power that the 117 will fly with. All the points you make are valid, just remember to take the time to smell the roses and enjoy the journey and the destination. Not wishing to generalize and pigeon hole people, but, the people with the biggest toys also carry the most debt (unless you are fortunate to have paid cash) just ask a person who has finished paying the last morgage payment how happy it makes them feel. Love my 2021 FXST, and Australia's all year riding weather in the Queensland tropics. Just my view.
Sometimes enjoying the journey is made all the sweeter by investing time, effort and money into things you are passionate about such as bikes Can’t guarantee we’ll be around to make that last mortgage payment and prefer to live life in the moment but respect your views all the same Wishing you many happy miles on your FXST and we’re slightly jealous of the weather, send some sun to Ireland please haha
