I got the Standard~~😊 Standard have not heavy weight and slim size wheel, so it got a sufficient torque, nimble handling. (Very fun bike in Harley) Of course, it's good for beginners I think, it suits skilled riders who want a classic style and fun ride rather than a bike for beginners~~`!!
I have a 2020 Standard and I love it. I put a good amount of coin into and blacked it all out. I just think a bike should be bare bones like the bikes in the past. I mean its a motorcycle...not a Caddy. Just my opinion...I just love the old school vibe.
3.5 gallon tank isn't as bad as most people think...my 1998 Fatboy only came with a 4.2 gallon as well as the Heritage Softail...they didn't go to a 5 gallon until 2000 model year. With the better fuel metering of the new fuel injection as compared to the older carb models that I mentioned...it will go about as far as the older model year bikes that I mentioned.
I absolutely love the traditional Harley look, customization potential and sound of the bike. For a couple of thousand less a person could choose the arguably more powerful, more feature equipped, and smoother riding Nightster Special. For a person who plans to do a lot of mods, and insists on an air cooled machine, this could be an excellent choice for them.
DOes Harley ever stop at finding ways to jack up the price. Painting it gray when they know most will want black but you have to pay extra. I have a harley and other bikes but losing faith in their marketing.
It sounds OK to me but I am a first time HD owner. I baffles me why people spend so much money to make noise and after riding my Softail Standard, I am keep the stock exhaust.
Still annoyed with Harley switching the base color but at the same time from a business perspective i get it. Easy way to make a couple bucks off someone wanting black
Honestly any of the top brands would be good. I'd do a full exhaust not just a slip on. You will probably need to do a tune in it after that but it's worth it.
Low rider S is pretty basic. I wanted the twin brakes, bigger motor, bigger tank (for the looks), and upside down forks. Is it worth the extra money over the standard. Hard to say.
22 Lowrider s owner myself & I think the fxlrs is worth the extra money , way better looking bike & better handling , only extras I added so far is a 2 into 1 cobra el Diablo exhaust with a Don performance tune
Why has it got alloy wheels, the real FXST and FXSTC never had a alloy rim on the front, they also had a 21in front wheel, the new FXST is the same as the Street Bob missus wheels, instead of a real FXST 34 degree rake the new one is only 30 degrees.
I thought that they discontinued the standard.... Fair warning if you can't afford a harley outright then find a private lender because HD loans are incredibly predatory.
I like the seat on your bike. It looks better butted up to the tank. I don't like the look of that space between the seat and tank on the 2024. Great review.
Please refrain from calling the primer gray "Billiard". I DOG DARE you to find ANY Billiard place or set that has any gray color included. It's PRIMER AND CLEAR COAT. Once again the moco is screwing the customer.
So. The Softail Standard is the Real Inheritor of the XL Mantle. The Sportster S is what the Street should have been Sans the price tag. So up'ing the Engine size gave your bike a drinking problem? Do the Street Bob tanks fit? Looks like a very nice bike to Mod to perfection.
I don’t know if anybody noticed they made the tank smaller. Not sure if that’s because of the reduction in fossil fuel usage for the future or because millennials like it that way, small? I’m old-school I like them fat.
For a standard 107cc @ $14,000 Harley has finally lost there mind. You can get 114CC FOR 17,OOO if you have a bit of patience and some barganing skills. For the love of your wallet Dont do it.
Wait a minute. $15K for a bike with optional abs, ugly gray color, pay extra for black, tiny LCD display, no Cruise Control, it’s a cruiser bike without cruise control go figure, an engine that only produces 85HP, and honestly ugly as Fock with all the shinny chrome, not air cooled so you can toast your nuts when riding in a hot day? Seriously this is why HD is in trouble and sales are going down. Who in 2024 is buying these bikes brand new? Seriously who and why? Please I am interested to know if the regular HD buyer in 2024 from the age of 20 to 45 is actually paying that much money just for the name.
Harley can keep that shit. I'm not going to pay the kind of money that they are charging for these bikes. I'll stick with triumph and get a more reliable bike and a more comfortable bike to ride. Good video and appreciate you. Thanks

This is a solid option for people looking to add their own style to a Softail frame.
For $15K?
@@Slopes27used you can get for 10k with less than 1k miles if you shop around…
@ been looking for it and nothing. Still have time before the riding season starts again. Thanks.
Feels like this is one of the few Harleys that still looks like a Harley.
They grey with those wheels actually looks good on that bike!
I thought I was the only one who liked this color lol
So, this is NOT a review. This is an "overview".
Throttle Drip
I agree
I took my 23 FXST from Las Vegas to Phoenix (and back) last week. Straight highway driving, I averaged 58 mpg.
I have a 2020 Standard and I love it. I put a good amount of coin into and blacked it all out. I just think a bike should be bare bones like the bikes in the past. I mean its a motorcycle...not a Caddy. Just my opinion...I just love the old school vibe.
Why didn't you just buy a Street Bob?
@@fatrug33 I didnt like the logo on the tank. To flashy for me.
Billiard gray, the first reason for a repaint.
I love the gray, everyone gets black
Right on brother! The grey looks awesome! @@paulhundy2986
agreed. I don't know why those chose that shade of gray
Speaking of paint, what are those black parts of the engine made out of? Metal? If so, I'll paint them chrome.

I wouldn’t pay extra for ANY solid color.
Charging extra for Black WTF that's just plain greedy and ridiculous
I’d love the comparison to Nightster. I try to make the softtail argument for new riders over the Nightster
Whoa. I've been watching some of your videos and just realized that you're in Anderson. I live here! Lol
Cheers for the throwback on starting with the tank badge. Onwards and upwards to 50k subs
DOes Harley ever stop at finding ways to jack up the price. Painting it gray when they know most will want black but you have to pay extra. I have a harley and other bikes but losing faith in their marketing.
Agreed but I admit it's a great idea.
Could bit them on the ass when they need to discount to sell the grey stock nobody wants.
Softale is the ne Sportster in my opinion, blank canvas ✌️
You got a great ride 👌
What I like is the baja headlight. That should fit on a Street Bob.
Beautiful build man. Only thing I’d change is to 5 gallon fuel tank. And can you get the tune cleaned up for better mpg’s?
How do you stare at a bike for 20 minutes and not start it? Holy crap. That’s the only thing I wanted to hear in this video.
Yes please do a compare video those two are my narrowed down picks to purchase
Dude
You don’t have enough followers
Your videos are awesome
Spot on. His videos are AWESOME!
The nightster looks dumb with only a grey tank and black fenders. Why does HD do that.
It sounds OK to me but I am a first time HD owner. I baffles me why people spend so much money to make noise and after riding my Softail Standard, I am keep the stock exhaust.
Una vera Harley la più Harley Davidson!!
Still annoyed with Harley switching the base color but at the same time from a business perspective i get it. Easy way to make a couple bucks off someone wanting black
is this a good bike for a beginner?
If you could trade your softtail standard in, what would you get as a replacement? Low rider st?
Bro it’s stock exhaust sound is bad.so if i want typical harley sound, which exhaust should i put in softtail slim for perfect harley sound.pls reply🙏
Honestly any of the top brands would be good. I'd do a full exhaust not just a slip on. You will probably need to do a tune in it after that but it's worth it.
The major problem is that the digital speedometer is so small, 2 inch and no backlight even. You can't see display during day!
Is it possible to add electronic cruise control to the standard?
It is! I own a 2023 softail standard and added cruise control.
Have you thought about installing a factory side plate mount to yours?
I prefer the license plate mounted on the tail fender
Low rider S is pretty basic. I wanted the twin brakes, bigger motor, bigger tank (for the looks), and upside down forks. Is it worth the extra money over the standard. Hard to say.
22 Lowrider s owner myself & I think the fxlrs is worth the extra money , way better looking bike & better handling , only extras I added so far is a 2 into 1 cobra el Diablo exhaust with a Don performance tune
I would have to have spoked wheels on the Softtail Standard.
I went the performance route and that didn't fit the part looks or performance wise.
I don't like that grey at all.
Edit : It looks far better in person. Monitor colour doesn't do the grey it's justice.
Top rate review and your bike with the wheels, brake disc and other add-ones is the best looking Standard I’ve seen.
Nice bike for the money.
Why did they not put on the more traditional rear fender this looks more like a lowrider or superglide
I received the shirt. I love it. Thanks
Why didn't they hang the tag off the side like they did on the Street Bob?
What's your thoughts on the forks on the Standard not being covered like the Street Bob gators? Is the street bob's purely for looks?
I’d say it was put in for cosmetics but it would keep debris out. You can put them on a Standard. I’ve also cut them off the Street Bob! Haha
Why has it got alloy wheels, the real FXST and FXSTC never had a alloy rim on the front, they also had a 21in front wheel, the new FXST is the same as the Street Bob missus wheels, instead of a real FXST 34 degree rake the new one is only 30 degrees.
I got same bike stage 2 love it
Does inverted front end cost more?
how much was that total build on your softail
Not a big fan of the color. Drab........black should still be the base color.
swap out the tank for the 4.5 gallon from a HD 1200 custom....sportster
I thought that they discontinued the standard.... Fair warning if you can't afford a harley outright then find a private lender because HD loans are incredibly predatory.
Great video, your bike is awesome
Bot, not his bike.
@@davidbrown6353he said it was his, whose bike is it then
Why do HD not sell the Fat Bob in the USA?
Nice STS. I’m very impressed and jealous of the work you put into that ride.
What here we are in 2024 and they are still running a single disc on the front
For $15K. 😂😂😂 ridiculous.
Good video 😊
In person the Grey looks cool. I love that Saddlemen on that Lowrider. Btw Blair, did you get the email I sent ya?
JT
I like the seat on your bike. It looks better butted up to the tank. I don't like the look of that space between the seat and tank on the 2024. Great review.
Love your bike man Looks awesome !!!🙂
Good review. I’d like to have one to customize and to ride around town instead of my Ultra. Your bike is awesome. What’s the #257 significance?
Please refrain from calling the primer gray "Billiard". I DOG DARE you to find ANY Billiard place or set that has any gray color included. It's PRIMER AND CLEAR COAT. Once again the moco is screwing the customer.
You need a hobby.
😂
Is single front disk enough with stock engine? Is it possible to put dual?
I am not a fan of electronic gauges. I like old school actual gauges. Not digital gauges or digital numbers.
There’s no color gray in billiards.
😅
Nice bike man
I cannot stand the left and right handed signals on my bike Harley needs to revert back to left grip turn signal switch
This video made me appreciate my 09 Dyna Super Glide more. 😅
Can a beginner ride this?
So I would assume getting a Softail Standard would be like getting a clean canvas? Build it in whatever direction you want.
I’ll always take the old soft tail slim but I do like the standard in grey
It would look much much better with a new modern wider front end and a fat gas tank with modern dashboard for the same price.
I really like the Softail Standard, but I REALLY, REALLY like your one!!!... ha ha
👍
The bike should have came with the 114 engine and a 5 gallon fuel tank
5 gallon tank would be great. I think a low rider tank will swap onto it. You can order it with a 128 kit and Harley maintains the warranty. 😉
👌🏼😎
They were selling this to me hard at the Harley dealer but I left with a 09 street Bob
Great bike to build on, unfortunately a awful base colour.
Great to see you starting with the tank badges/decals again.
Cheers Blair.
👍👍
Dude, The Softail Heritage Classic 114 is made for long distance rides.
You should have 100hp min.
Just wish it was cheaper
Just buy yourself the Street bob 114, way more value for you money. 😊
Not a bad ride if you want a basic ride thx but I’ll keep my dyna super glide custom
Won't buy 1, put off by digital gauge
Hey dude, I just subbed. I just started a channel myself and it’s growing like crazy I’m a Master tech at speedway HD in concord hope you get to 50k 🤘
Softail Standard vs Touring HD Models... I'll take my 2022 Heritage Classic 114.
That's the last "standard" Standard...so you only get to use that word one time...
I bet if you had a second chance. You wouldn't have done that build!
I don’t know if anybody noticed they made the tank smaller. Not sure if that’s because of the reduction in fossil fuel usage for the future or because millennials like it that way, small? I’m old-school I like them fat.

Oh no,Everything is ugly and cheap
