Listening to vans music since 73,and the one thing that strikes me is even years after he has written and recorded a track he will still work and hone it till perfection is reached.This tune captures the Celtic "Soul" so well. Oh and by the way for my moronic countrymen who think it is England, it is Shetland that is referred to in the talking bit.

@@paulinechapman5669 Not really Pauline,if you scroll back to some of the very early comments made,people have remarked the words are hard to hear, which is true, only if you listen really hard is it just decipherable,
but many people made the comment it was England.
As a Celt who believed in his Celtic/Norse ancestry/world being very close, to suggest England makes no sense.
If you listen to "Listen to the Lion"you may understand my point.

Happy St. Patrick's Day 2021 - is cold and rainy here, but still a good day. While listening to Van's 'most popular' songs since "Astral Weeks", I never knew he was from Ireland (though heard the reference to Belfast in St. Dominic's Preview)... these photos add much to the music.

1976 , Just left seeing a Surfing movie... friend invites me to get in his mates kombi , few joints get passed about , then the girl in the back gets naked..... anyway the driver puts on his 8 track , "MOONDANCE " starts playing...... and I cannot believe what I was hearing , "And It Stoned Me "....... next day I was down getting the LP.......46 Years later I am still amazed at what he brings to OUR Souls..... A living legend...
