    More About "Limbo":
In the future, there are no prisons. There are no institutions with high walls and barred cells. Instead, the convicted are placed into a coma and forced to live out their sentence within a dream, with reality inverted, as the victim of their own crime. You killed someone’s wife? Your sentence is a life where your spouse has been taken from you, leaving you to toil in grief and mental anguish.
But for ‘inmates’ who are wrongfully convicted, and are forced to live in their punishing alternate reality with no awareness of their true circumstances, what becomes of them? Will they ever escape?
This is the story of one such person, and those that come to his rescue.

Ooooh this definitely left me wanting more. What does August do with this knowledge? Does he actually think he's going crazy or does he try to find the limits of the computer program that he is in to escape? What happens to Zeb and Lily? Maybe they'll try hacking into the system to help him that way or maybe August does it on his own from inside! I want More! More! More! 😀😀😀

Whether he's guilty or not, whether the attempted jailbreak was real or a dream, no matter what is real in this story, he has just lost his daughter all over again. A tense story that never lets up and hits hard, great acting and effects, an intriguing premise, and overall powerful stuff all around. Great work by the people who made this.

I want to say, as an American coming into our new wave of inherited dystopia, nothing quite breaks my heart as much as how broken our criminal justice system is. We incarcerate humans at 5x the rate of the rest of the world. So many innocents, and those convicted by unjust laws. So many lives and families destroyed. No one will stop it. It's too profitable. Nothing has captured this heartache quite so beautifully and simply as this brilliant film has. I didn't think it could be done in a short. The forced plea deal. The torture. The horror of losing everything. This is our future. Anyone who tells you it isn't, probably doesn't pay enough taxes... and wants to keep it that way.
Thank you to Rob, Andrew and DUST.

Definitely one of the better productions ever presented by DUST. It puts the concept of "question reality" into an entirely different context. The idea of future psychodynamic reality "replacement" therapy isn't new, but here it is presented in a dark, but not at all implausible future. If this is the future, I'll stay here for now . . .

I would love to watch these on a big screen however I'd be concerned that they would lose their integrity, originality and so on, if they were to go "big", depending on how they did it. In many cases, they'd have to stoop to an elitist level just to be accepted into the "gang" of Hollywood elites or if they don't, be destroyed by them. Better they get big ethically, with morals intact, it would take longer but they'd be able to do it without them, if they just relied on us by word of mouth, & their marketing. They need to market more too gain a wider audience. I've only seen 'Dust' on UA-cam, not saying that doesn't mean they aren't on other sites and platforms but I've never seen it anywhere else. For them to have a chance to get recognized more and land more private funding, they need to branch out. If Christian filmmakers can get on the big screen without Hollywood's help or approval, I fully believe Dust can do it too. 👍🏻

Just a theory but I believe this life is not the real reality in the sense of where our souls go in death. A lot of people who have been clinically dead and remember “the afterlife” say that they knew that was the real reality, and that it seemed more real than life here on earth if that makes sense. Almost like life is a temporary dream in the scope of eternity as our souls are eternal, whether we end up in a biblical hell or heaven, get reincarnated, or we exist in a simulation, what we see, touch, smell, hear is just a small part of a greater reality. Maybe your injury affected your sense of self or changed something in your brain chemistry that has you experiencing these symptoms or maybe you’ve been to a greater reality and subconsciously feel it, who knows. It has got to be frustrating to experience those symptoms and I hope you’re getting therapeutic help for it, I’m assuming your brain was injured to a certain extent whether by the accident, the trauma or the medications/procedures. Treasure your second chance at life and the loved ones who almost lost you, wish you the best.

    • @ColdWarAviator
      @ColdWarAviator 3 роки тому +3

Thank you, I have made every effort to make the most of this second chance. As to whether this is reality or I'm remembering real reality, I cannot say. I feel like if there are different levels of reality that there is bound to be some bleed over at the boundaries between them... Kind of like that cold draft at a window that doesn't quite seal right even when closed.

I laid there accepting my fate, actually concerned my eyes would be damaged from the freezing water pooling in them. I was worried I’d go blind. Omfg!
Pardon the pun, but that was out of this world.
Did he dream his daughter's and the victim's brother's roles, as both appeared to believe him innocent?
His memories are false, as we heard that was part of the rehabilitation process, yet he still refused responsibility for the girl's disappearance.
To be honest, at one point I was suspecting alien abduction of him and the girl with only him being returned.
The answer of his guilt or innocence was never proven, however, he seemed happy at the end, as if he'd been vindicated or exonerated in some sense, while going back into the dream?
Superb acting by everyone, particularly our protagonist.
It must be a difficult and uncomfortable role to play, a possible paedo.
It's left me with more questions than answers and is going in my sci-fi collection.

The most painful moment when they reached the rooftop and realised there's nowhere to go from there... For a moment I thought the father considered jumping. It's sad they went through all this trouble and got so far, only for him to be taken and put back to sleep. I really thought the story would have a happy ending with them escaping but no...
The only thing I found a bit unrealistic was them managing to outrun the hospital staff, climbing up the stairs with a semi-conscious man who's just woken up from a coma-like state.
But other than that I have to say this is now one of my top favourite Dust films! It's truly mind-blowing! It takes you for an emotional ride as you try to figure out what is really going on. And the cinematography was simply SUPERB!

Funny you should say that. I learned how to control my dreamscape after seeing "Alien" in 1979 and getting devoured by the monster six nights in a row! On the seventh night, I won.
In the days after the loss of the Space Shuttle Columbia and her crew, I began having dreams about working in space. Realistic enough that when I asked an astronaut if your toes and fingers get cold while "outside" he asked me how I knew this. The dreams were realistic enough that I knew not to do anything stupid like taking a glove or my helmet off. I would lay down to sleep and spend the night working in space.
The nightly dreams ended after I attended the final CAIB hearing in Washington, and started on the path of learning why I was here.
One night, I dreamt of working on the outside of the ISS with two friends from work. As I stretched to grab a handhold, my sleeve and glove separated. Instantly, the exposed skin in the sunlight burned, while the skin in the shadow hurt bad from freezing. I began rotating my wrist to equalize the pain and slid my sleeve back up.
As I began to awaken, I thought for sure that I was merely laying on my right arm, cutting the circulation off.
Imagine my surprise to find that I was flat on my back! My right arm was across my stomach...and it was cold as ice from my elbow to my fingertips.
That dream happened in 2005, yet like all of the "space dreams", I remember it well.

Once you’re back in a dream, most of your waking life memories are wiped out. That’s why your dream reality is so convincing! it became your only reality. Otherwise if you could remember your waking life memories WHILE you’re dreaming then it would be a lucid dream and not a dream anymore.
See in your dream tonight if you can really remember of anything from your waking life. Do you have perfect memory of your waking life while you’re dreaming? Probably not.
Or maybe the cabin was his real waking life and the whole incident last night was just a dream conjured up by his stress of having to leave his cabin and wanting so much to see his daughter alive again. Have you thought of that angle?
