I liked this one. It feels like a first episode and I imagined a story where the wife had actually been selling Karl's data, but she wasn't the one who had her husband murdered. She was just framed for it by the cop chick, who was actually working for a demented AI that wanted Karl dead. An AI that had spawned as a result of the ruthless Nicera executive unknowingly combining his memory with fragments of Karl's memory that had been stored in the stolen data. With meatbag Karl out of the way, the evil Karl AI made a deal with the Nicera executive to help him take over Nicera in exchange for feeding it more minds. The executive agreed and the AI started harvesting people's minds in an effort to grow it's skills, but it was fearful that it could alter it's mindset too drastically, and perhaps lose focus on it's goals, if it absorbed the "wrong" ones. So it had to be selective. Good Karl AI wasn't done yet though, and when it finally got free and found out...the fight was on!
Maybe it is me. The 1 thing driving me nutz about DUST, many shorts don't really end the story. Other than that, LOVE the SyFy. Wish I could work with everyone, ideas, design, accuracy, etc..Many of them should be longer movies..

I legitimately didn't recognize him at first, and actually thought for a moment that it might be Michael Emerson (Ben Linus from Lost, Harold Finch from Person of interest, etc.) or a relative of his. It wasn't till near the end when something in his voice/mannerisms clicked and I was like "Pee Wee??!" Could definitely see him leading up a show based on this.
👀 Paul Reuben?! My childhood crush 😍. He's still looking good. I wasn't sure it was him but the voice of "Mr. Ferryman " was undeniable. I would love to see him in more serious/drama rolls like this
A peewee laugh and his signature look, would of been perfect when he was being asked what type of new technology he was making and after his fourth non answer, he asked am I a suspect, all movement stop's, he turns to the camera directly and does his famous chuckle in PeeWee character! Would have been Epic funny.

Now that was a good film, i enjoyed it a great deal. Thank you and I hope i will see more of your work. Poor Paul Rubens. He will forever carry that name, He was very good as were all the actors in this film.
Excellent film! Paul Reubens is a very good actor when given the opportunity and this was a great film to show his talent.
Well done and very thought provoking too! I don't want to take away from your good work to focus on Paul, but he means so much to millions of people and I am so heartened to know that despite his terrible setbacks, he has the strength of character not to give up on his great talents. God bless this wonderful man...
I love that they used the great Paul Reubens. Great film.
*Flawlessly crafted, awesome food for thought... Imagine a detective series based upon this delightful gem. Naturally, the consciousness would eventually evolve to no longer require material housing or cables etc., in the writer's parallel universe!* 💡
When all you want is closure and then all you get is cut off. Aggrivating. Needless to say, I feel that dude's pain.
Excellent casting! This film has been a favorite of mine for years.
Wasn't it just out 2 days ago?
@@felixpham4934 I know the director and have seen it through other distribution channels.
This was amazing, so much better that what's on tv or in the movies! 👍👍
Amazing.
This isn't the first time I've seen someone use this idea of technology
Very cool!! Enjoyed this short and great to see Paul Reubens!! Thanks dust!
Well, that was certainly a "big adventure!"
Now, if you will excuse me detective, I need to go find my bike.
this should be a full hour long movie.
Great concept! Do you know something we don't?😁🤣🤣✌
I can easily see this as a full length crime thriller movie. Very nicely done.
Paul Rubens! Good to see him acting. Great story.
Excellent short film with a ending! Good job DUST!
Woo! Paul Rubens!! Good to se him.
How this film doesn't a hundred thousand views by now is beyond me. soooooooo gooood!
Well it probably does... this has been reuploaded at least once. Made in 2013 :o
Outstanding! It was fantastic seeing Paul Reubens again! Welcome back buddy!
One of the best films 🎥 in your collection. thanks so much. :) 🎬⭐️
I echo what Gilbert said below. I'm a PAUL FAN and he is great in this! Bravo to all. Loved it, cool concept!
Maybe it is me. The 1 thing driving me nutz about DUST, many shorts don't really end the story. Other than that, LOVE the SyFy. Wish I could work with everyone, ideas, design, accuracy, etc..Many of them should be longer movies..
This is freak'n amazing! I love the story and everything about the execution. And I want to see Paul Reubens do more acting for crying out loud! He's good. He needs to be acting.
Really high quality production on this. Very good, left me wanting to know more.
It's very cool to see Paul Reubens in a dramatic role.
I would love to see him in more serious/drama rolls like this
Always a pleasure to see Mr. Reubens.
Excellent short!!! Thanks for posting!!!
Legendary and Innovative film making...Leaves you on the edge of your seat
A peewee laugh and his signature look, would of been perfect when he was being asked what type of new technology he was making and after his fourth non answer, he asked am I a suspect, all movement stop's, he turns to the camera directly and does his famous chuckle in PeeWee character! Would have been Epic funny.
Nothing made me more happy after seeing Karl Brant come back at the end .
Out of sight brilliant. Thank you for showing it.
_AfterDeath - still no Peace. Not know you are dead. Brought back to conscience to be told of your demise and then, “Oh yeah, time to “pull the 🔌 plug”AGAIN”! Forcing them to die and experience it - Heartless_
Brilliant stuff, part 2 please. Let it switch itself on.
Looks like he survived being murdered twice. In the sequel he jumps into the internet and becomes skynet.
omg! I think digitized copies of a person's intellect should have some rights, at least to exist freely and pursue their continued existence as any flesh and blood person!
I think this should be huge as tech increases to make something like this possible, laws will have to be argued and put in place to protect digital beings' rights.
wonderfully done! very believable and great acting; I loved the characters, the setting and the very full storyline. Even tho it was just a short, I was totally drawn in by it
Very Cool short film, Good to see Paul Reubens.say what you will but that man is an acting legend!
I don’t think I’ve seen him in anything besides playing Pee Wee Herman and the movie Blow. Honestly the guy is an amazing an actor.
This was bloody brilliant!
Can you imagine this twist applied to the first 48., where we also get the perspective of the victim ., as well as everyone else
You remind me of Danny Glover in your photo.
Part Two - The Officer stands trial for the murder of the construct.
I can totally see this happening, if it hasn't already. Awesome. Scary, but awesome.
A very interesting look at possible A.I. outcomes. I really enjoyed the Nine Inch Nails feel to the music. I'd love to see a sequel developed, perhaps delving into where Brant's memories went after being switched off.
That scream at the end was a bit unnerving. Got me.
Volume way to low! Please fix this!
@@jonathanporter5223 lol fine I'll dig out my old earphones. But if it doesn't help I'm going bro be super sad.
U-toob closed captions work just fine.
@@jonathanporter5223 dug them out and yes thank you! Much louder.
Great film and subtitling. Many thanks.
