Xbox ACC Fix For the New Wireless Adapter for both Windows 10 and 11

- Couple days ago I got the newly released Wireless Adapter for Windows 10. After plugging it in, my device manager told me it did not recognize it and said it was a XBOX ACC. After trying all kinds of solutions from downloading the drivers from the windows update catalog to contacting Xbox and Windows support. I found a way to get the driver from an older installation of Windows 10 that i had on my bootcamp. I copied those driver and my wireless adapter came to life. I thought it would be a good thing to share the driver I found, so that everyone can use the adapter without issues.

It got to my attention that some have installed the optional xbox updates from windows update. So If your adapter still does not work please go to your windows update and install the optional xbox update.
Use winrar to open the following file from the download link.

Just use the inf to install the driver for the adapter and it should be working. Do note that this driver is for the new wireless adapter for windows 10.
If my driver is not working for you then please go and follow the steps on this steam forum post and see if that works: steamcommunity....
OK so anyone thats having the issue where it wont pair but will blink like it wants to pair go to settings< network and internet< then airplane mode then enable xbox wireless and it should pair now. im gonna leave this post on a few different articles that aren't locked aswell hope this helps. Kinda fucking dumb i delt with it for almost 3 months and it wasn't working cus of this one setting.

Thank you! I try to solve the problem for few months and saw your comment before I send the adapter back to Microsoft. Why don't Microsoft put the switch in the Bluetooth tabs but in airplane mode....
@@pyiu5652 Silly question ... I have a deskptop not a laptop .. windows 10 is up to date.. I can't seem to find my airplane mode settigns :( any ideas regarding this? Thanks

@@csokami95 Yeah mate I kept searching for it and it seems that it worked last time since I paired it with my PC right when I bought it so drivers in the controller were updated. You have to find someone with an Xbox One to have the drivers in your controller update before you can use it again on a PC

It’s still listed as Xbox acc, but when I click on driver details, it says “no driver files are required or have been loaded for this device.

My USB adapter actually worked when I first got it. Stopped working randomly one day for apparently no reason (nothing had been changed on pc for quite some time) I was having the same issue as you. I greatly appreciate your time and help.

Ok, I'm writing this because the fix stated in the video didn't work for me, but I will tell you what worked.
For context, I'm running Windows 10 Pro Education edition, this version of windows doesn't really install most "game friendly" software from the microsoft store, so no xbox accesories app.
The moment I plugged the dongle to my pc I got XBOX ACC error, tried the fix SuperSlider showed on his video and after installing I got another error, a "device not recognized something or other" error the moment I plugged the dongle in.
To fix this, you have to install Xbox Accesories from the microsoft store, once it's installed the pc will recognize the dongle.
Hope this helps anybody that had the same errors I had

this is what I got:
"The driver for this device has been blocked from starting because it is known to have problems with Windows. Contact the hardware vendor for a new driver. (Code 48)"
EDIT: I boot in safe mode after i remove old drivers and thas't work!

This still works in 2022, which is shocking but also, wonderful. Thanks Slider, you saved me a headache and a half since the Microsoft issued driver isn't recognized either (the one downloaded from the Windows Update Catalog).

Just got my wireless adapter today and I only managed to get it to work with your help. Crazy how microsoft doesnt adress this problem themself. Also interesting that other internetsites tell you that you just need to download the right files from the microsoft update catalog....
still working in 2023. was having this problem where adapter was blinking and controller blinking but not connecting on my pc. this fixed the issue.

2020, Just upgraded my pc, xbox wireless adapter not working on new pc but works fine with old pc. XBOX ACC issue, many websites and videos say to download the driver from windows update catalog. Did that with no correction, it was like the driver from the catalog is not capability with the win 10 Xbox wireless adapter. My girlfriend and I fought with windows support for hours and got pushed up the chain to the top and they still refused to accept that the dongle would work on 2 of my computers, but not the one hooked up to the living room TV.
Thank you for validating that they didn't provide the file if it fails to initialize itself properly back then, and the problem still isn't fixed in December 2020. Thanks twice for providing the correct file.

11-29-2020 I just received my wireless adapter so I could connect turtle beach wireless headset and had same issue. The windows update file did not install for me so thanks so much for the well explained info and link to the rar file. It worked great. Also, if your PC has bluetooth then you don't need the adapter to connect a wireless controller. Just press the ms button on the controller and it will connect automatically.

thank you, helped me in 2020 with the new Xbox Series X Controller with Windows Adapter. It seems to be the same adapter, the Xbox App recognizes the new controller flawlessly with this driver.

I just watched your video. I decided to play around and got it to work by right clicking on the ACC xbox error and hitting update driver and search online automatically. It did the trick.
