Going from the anime styled characters to seeing Mario and Luigi is giving me Kingdom Hearts levels of immersion destruction and it’s hilarious.

I've seen people knock this game for Mario being in it, but that's exactly why I love it. It's always cool to see cartoon/video game characters in a dark setting and have it still be able to be taken seriously.

I do still think that it’s a bit iffy with how he’s put in, but I’d say it gives its own branch of charm.
unironically i think it benefits the story. unironically using a well known character for horror, IF done well, can be amazing. this game made me get better at art and persue game development. corpsesyndrome/team ari are legends.
"Taken seriously" is an overstatement tbh. Dont know about you guys but i can't see cartoony ass Mario in a game full of anime characters being gored to death without thinking "yeah this is super silly"

The thing is, if you take all of the murder out of the picture this would work as a Luigi's Mansion game; the mansion is cursed, you encounter the family that used to live there, calm them down, and face off against whatever is responsible for this (probably King Boo).
The original versions of MTMB and ARC got me through so many tough times, and I'm so excited for the ARC remaster. Thank you for covering this; the devs' work means a lot to me and their passion has always inspired me.

Yeah, I get that feeling.
When you bring a name with luggage, such as 'Mario', to a form of media, it's kind of impossible to ignore ALL the shit that Mario has done.
Like, Mario has defeated Bowser hundreds of times, survived the vacuum of Space, saved kingdoms, worlds, galaxies! Hell, in Mario & Luigi: Dream team, they quite literally stopped a Multiverse ending threat! And Mario is no stranger to fighting ghosts either. He has beaten Boos and their variants with his bare hands ever since Mario 64, and threw down with Cackletta's soul.
At first glance, it feels like a disrespect to the character making him so powerless to a few weakling ghosts.
But ultimately, this is not a "Mario game". Which means the Mario that we follow doesn't need to be THE Mario, but A Mario. And in this case, something that Mario has never officially been: human. A humanized Mario, with human fears and human weaknesses. A Mario whose death's aren't two-second cartoonish animations with a silly music and a life counter.
Of course, the villain of this game isn't a Mario character. So you do end up needing to look past the instinctual discontent that it comes when Mario is essentially toyed with by someone's OC😅
Calling it now, Malice will be in Mario's Madness V3.

though this game isn’t an outstanding masterpiece in the horror genre, i can respect the work that the team behind it put into it, along with the personal reasons for why the creator made it. i played it a while ago since i’ve been an avid nintendo fan for more than a decade and like horror games.

Huh. I am friends of CorpseSyndrome and had no idea about this RPGmaker game. I just saw their animations on twitter and Discord, and we had played some Lethal Company. I just assumed they were just another animator, but they took care of me. I hope they are doing well with their art/animation.

Mario The Music Box is my second favorite horror fangame (just below Coronation Day), so this video was a delight to see in my recommendations! CorpseSyndrome's artwork is absolutely breathtaking to look at, you can just tell this was entirely a labour of love. ❤

I Always found this game unique and cooler than every mario horror games that was popping up at the time. The mario horror games at time were all... in nicer words, not the best of quality. They were all full of wack loud jumpscares and goofy sonic.exe wannabes.
But mario and the music box was something different, something outstanding. To the art and all the other stuff mixed in, made it so damn awesome! Honestly wish we had more stuff like it because it's absolutely AMAZING bruh omg.

The fake door death scene he's referring to, happens when mario interacts with the middle door that is on top of the stairs in the entrance room. Luigikid specifically mentioned the original 2015 version because the remastered actually replace the fake door with a painting of Alice.

Luigikid is the reason I know and love this game. And I always loved it when he uploaded more to the series. I was sad when it ended and he stopped talking about it but. I glad he’s here with it again

wario and the music box would be awesome, i imagine it'd be like this:
faster paced, less horror and more goofy. wario can directly attack ghosts and other enemies, but cant kill them permanently. i also imagine there would be multiple "juggernaut" enemies roaming around the entire map that can either kill you outright or force you into other floors or areas (I.E throwing you out of a window, so now you're outside). i think a game like this would be sick

The long wait is finally over.
It's nice to see another video on this game, even though I wasn't aware of it's existence for a while, and only just reminded myself again recently with SpaceHamster's video on it (when he still used to upload) and despite the game's flaws, it's nice to see another somewhat more positive view on this game again, as people tend to see its drawbacks more than really talk about the good stuff that's in it.
That said however, there's nothing wrong with having a few criticisms towards something, but at least acknowledge the things it did decently well at, even if they don't improve your overall thoughts on it

I love this game so much, as well as how much has improved, including the death scenes in comparison to the original in 2015 to now.

Luigi has shown to move at high speeds, possibly reaching the speed of sound or even FTL. He casually carries several giant hammers on him at all times, and those giant hammers don't seem to slow him down or hinder him at all. He can easily destroy castles, has pyrokenisis, electrokenisis, can warp reality by dancing, can go invisible, has a vacuum that could damn your very soul, and he has a kick that can send you several feet into the air.
You are not surviving.

Finding a big video about this game was a joy in itself, but Luigikid being a guest was an even BIGGER joy.

This is the game that blends Mario and horror quite perfectly!! Like in other games, it’s kinda goofy with like spooky Mario but here it’s a slow burn type that gets you out of nowhere. Honestly great game!!

i think im one of only a few people who actually wanted my parents to get me youtube kids when it first released, and so they did. think i was about like... 8? and i remember i on yt kids i saw a compilation of every single cutscene in the (arc?) game. uncensored and all. idk if it was actually every single cutscene, but i know i saw mario in a suit holding his own head, and had no idea what that was about.

Honestly, it's kind of a hilarious breath of fresh air from the drawn-out dramatic deaths in the rest of the game lmao.
I can't blame the team for not putting in like, 5 more songs since it was already taking 2 years, but man we really missed out on Characters like Malice and Speedrunner mario for songs like talasiphobia, and bad day. Would of loved a bit more for creepypasta/horror related characters that didn't quite make it.
