It's been nothing but nerfs since this game released. When will things get buffed? Half of the weapons in this game are useless, even with godrolls. Now we get some half-assed "fix" for legacies that breaks fun weapons like the Harpoon Gun. Bethesda devs are so incompetent.
I feel like a bunch of players will start to quit. The only issue with the legacy weapons isn't how OP they are. Simply that they can't fix the dooping. They rather make FO76 less fun versus just fixing the actual problem. That is the big issue, they won't address actual bugs but just make the game less fun by nerfing. Its lame
I have a quad explosive harpoon gun. It's only 'powerful' with flechete mod but personally it only makes the weapon usable. Otherwise its actually weak
I have an explosive harpoon with flechette mod too. Its weak because of slow reloads and therefore low dps. However it seems to be the only weapon left in the game that when used with strangler PA mantains the original prenerfed acid damage values. Combine the two and it melts enemies.

I'm sad to see my 2 bloodied explosive laser rifles go but to be honest I use gauss shotty. I've had 2 friends quit because they're losing hundreds of dollars in legacys. What they could have done to fix this situation is done nothing to the guns but locked them to the account. No tradeability. No stash space. If you drop it. It's destroyed. But nope.
@Spartan-Titan agreed. The only use in a boss fight I actually found mine useful for was when wanting to get the queen to land as tbf when aiming down sights it's quite the sniper. Normal fodder I can one shot just struggles when it's abit more tanky (say the glowing bloated ghoul) otherwise I use it like I would a quad auto tesla rifle just spray to tag enemies.
I would Like it if it would stay like this when the Effects Simply would Stop Working instead of being Completly Removed. Like this the Pepole could at least keep them as Colectors Weapons and Rare Items. I also Still Hope that my Quad Explo Harpoon Gun Keeps its Explo Effect as it is Clearly a Balistic Weapon not a Energy. If not i would at least love to Keep it with the Original Effects Shown even when it no longer works.

I don't like how people say a explosive harpoon gun is to OP yes with a correct build it does over 2k damage but that is off set by it reload time being a single shot weapon i can pull 4k damage with a fatman no glitches with a slightly different build. But i hope to god the pepper shaker can finally roll with explosive

Have rarely used Harpoon Guns due to slow fire rate so not sure how giving it an explosive effect would be OP when the Fatman and Two shot grenade launchers exist, would kinda like pepper shaker to have explosive but meh
If there was a need to fix the legacy problem, why not replace the explosive mod with the flamer mod…the weapons reduce damage while keeping the weapon useful…I worked for 4 months to get my legacy and bam, my work is thrown out. Great way to get rid of faithful players.

According to glitchers there is a new ammo glitch around, they haven´t released it yet, they´re waiting for the new Season to start so Bugthesda don´t apply a patch for it any time soon, hope it´s true, I miss my gunpowder weapons, specially my TSE Dragon.

they shouldve kept them rather then deleting them so they can balance them when ready, they clearly showed that they could remove the effect without removing the legendary effect. It would be so much better to make them an actually usable weapon thats just as good or better than ballistic explosive weapons flamers wouldnt make sense but gatling lasers and gatling plasmas with focused barrels would make sense

Coming from someone who has two legacy harpoons, it is honestly extremely misguided to think the explosive harpoons are OP. I mean the highest ammo capacity you can have with them is four! FOUR!!! Yet even worse, weapons like Railway Rifles being notoriously OP can keep their explosive legendary effect which just seems unfair to me. It makes me wonder if Bethesda even tests these weapons and compares them to existing ones because I assure you things would be a lot different.
@Dry_ Cola Agreed, when Bethesda nerfed how much ammo you get back from enemies and then patched out the fact that you could shoot bodies for free ammo it kinda took the harpoon gun down like 40 pegs. Then I think they actually nerfed their damage too after all that.

Exploharpoons were extreme op before wastelanders and the new damage calculation, to oneshot a legendary scorchedbeast in the air was no problem. Before spinweapons started to shoot or other players were able to aim at it it was already dead. Since wastelanders however it's not better as every other singleshot weapon. Viable but uninteresting, only good for roleplaying or to have a little bit variety. They could keep them the way they are because they aren't op at all and don't affect other players' experience anymore. But they decided not to, so it's the way it is.
If I was them guys I would just bring back all the explosive legacy weapons back for good and leaving in the game the more they try to fix it the game the more they break it I'm going to be rude to you guys another trying to do what's right but try not to fix the game cuz it's something the game's already broken anyway

Legacy effects shouldn’t be touched, like there is 0 end game in 76 besides trying to hunt down these weapons, half the players still playing will probably quit

I am not sure if I should be happy or disappointed about this news. I don't think I have anything that qualifies for this " Legacy weapon " fix. I am disappointed that I never managed to get a Legacy Weapon in almost 4,000 hours of this game.
Time to go find a new game. Fallout 76 has the final nail in the coffin. Grinded so much over the years just for it to be wasted. They have already nerfed my bloodied melee build into the ground. Along with any other gun I have heavy and explosive.
Weeelll... In many ways radiation damage _is_ ballistic, albeit at the microscopic level. When our cells encounter a beta particle or X/Gamma ray they are sometimes damaged because the particle/wave strikes them and _can_ physically knock off an electron. They 'ionise' the individual chemical structures--hence the term 'ionising radiation'. This usually leads to apoptosis where the cell notices something is wrong and destroys itself just to be sure our whole body suffers no lasting harm beyond losing the function of that specific cell. However it can of course potentially lead to cancer if the self-monitoring and immune response fails along with the ionized piece of DNA being involved in the replication areas of the Genome. So... It is ballistic damage. Sort of!
Have to hand it to Bethesda for being the most consistently disappointing dev team to ever exist. People have no clue what's really wrong with weapon balance in 76 but I guess they're about to find out. Get ready to get fucked because December 6 marks the day this game truly becomes pay to lose. After 3 years I think the only thing keeping me around still was my legacies I aquired from grinding game play...maybe it's time to let my characters die...

The stamina has always been like that from my experience at least. That's been in the final version of the game since I started playing before The Pitt DLC dropped. Another visual bug is that when you consume a food or drink item your character consumes said food or drink, but your meter does not fill up. But I think you could chalk that one up to being too fast of inputs to the server to keep up like right after loading in. BUT STILL! It's frustrating when you eat the food that you cook or drink the alcoholic drink you've been fermenting just for it to get wasted by the server not being able to keep up with my inputs! Infuriating!
Ah thank you for this update, was looking forward to see this video. Trading legacies and helping people who don't have them and pvp were the only thing keeping me playing this game

The simple fact that the Radium rifle uses .45 caliber ammo makes it a ballistic weapon, and the fact radiation is added to the bullet does not make it an energy weapon.
I am sure there will be plenty that will, but there are so many new players. I have been giving away so many stimpaks to lowbies lately that I have had to actually go buy some. As for the 3 years in trading, be glad you had it, nothing lasts forever. Not trying to sound mean, just realistic.
True, but there are also times where they "fixed" something and it never came back.. so far. The explosion damage formula going from distance from the ground to just working regardless for example..

When it comes to item modifications and legendary effects once its gone, it's forever gone, even if the modifications are suddenly able to work again, it doesn't just magically restore deleted content.
@@Junkzillabox pretty sure that would depend on how bethesda initiated the fix. IN past cases, bethesda added issues back into the game because they work on builds that are 2 or 3 cycles back. So its possible for the next couple iterations. Not being an expert on how bethesda works, hard for me to say. I just lack any sort of belief in bethesda as a studio. Here we are worrying about legacies, when there are many; and in my opinion more immediate issues. But hey, explody guns are ruining peoples good time. Nevermind that servers lag constantly... nevermind that I cant fast travel... nevermind that I cant play with my friends... nevermind the numerous other things that would improve the game and its performance... I cant have a explody energy gun so you cant either... oh and its ruining my good time way more than the server instability.
@@robertgoodnight Those issues are basically engine coding style stuff, but when it comes to items, once it's been deleted, it's gone. You would have find a way to inject it back in, which is unlikely. The stuff you are talking about is part of the engine coding so its a lot more complex. Legacies are just uncontrollable, plus people have been bragging about how Bethesda will never take care of that problem ever since release and then double into a shocked Pikachu face when Bethesda actually does something permanent about it. Slowly things are getting fixed and staying fixed, just a matter of time. That's progress.
6:10 It is not the final build of the DLC its on a test server... simple as that. Anything and everything in the PTS is subject to change. If Bethesda deems the legacy fix too risky and may cause an even bigger controversy... they will definitely leave it out. Pro-legacy ban here, just clarifying that you never know if it's ACTUALLY gonna drop this December, it could ALWAYS change.

As they are changing Radium Rifle, I think I will farm some Adhesive to craft and scrap as many Radium Rifles as I can before the patch to unlock missing mods. After the patch it no longer counts as energy weapon, so the perk Science Expert to reduce the crafting costs will no longer work.
I can believe both happened: there are some fixes and changes that very much should have been implemented by now that are probably simple, but at the same time what may be perceived as a "fix" might have had an unintended effect. It could create an exploit, a memory leak, an unintended buff that makes things worse, etc. I'm not going to say that they couldn't get things to work, but there could have been some secondary or tertiary effect of that brief update that seemed to fix things that could have potentially been REALLY bad if it went live. They may have thought they had it right and then found out they had to scrap the entire "solution" as the method just couldn't be implemented without the issue paired with it. As much as Bethesda has the well-earned infamous reputation of making games with some really screwy tech behind them, I also really don't agree with people that say "just tweak whatever code you have, you already had it just about right." Not to sound too much like the guy in the quote, but something almost working isn't always just a few tweaks away from getting it properly right.
I guess with this update everyone and I mean everyone will "git gud" and play bloodied. I did enjoy playing full health with an explosive flamer. Not that OP, not that weak. Decent AoE damage. Now I do feel forced to switch to a low health build to keep up the numbers and not grow old shooting at a gulper. And when a game forces me to do things I kinda loose interest. I guess it was fun while it lasted. No regrets. On the other hand... "Goooooood morning Night City!"
Few days back one guys was selling 70+ 3* weapons...i told myself,great,trap camp,lets see if he is creative...i went there and it wasnt trap camp,instead he was selling ONLY legacies...IDENTICAL 20+ exploding plasma gatlings and IDENTICAL 30+ exploding flamers and so on...glad that this cheating is going to be deleted!

Stamina bar has been a bug for a while. Every time i load up i get infinite stamina few a bit till the game actually registers the stamina use. Looks like it might just be getting worse.
So are they going to finally fix the bug with the flamethrower? Where every time you log in you have to change the barrel back and forth to actually get the range on it while keeping the damage?
They gave us a canned coffee machine and left quad railways, crit ffr and explosive in game. Queen will die with almost unlimited ap and crit damage melt it.

99% of hacked weapon were based in cross mods from other weapons. They are gone and most don't have explosive anymore. The only surviving ones are very specially rare and all of them very weak and or useless.

I was sick of all the op weapons users taking all the rewards and felt it was pointless to update the game with new content if a small group of players hoarded all the XP and rewards. The orbital strike doesn't have any type of ammo attached to anymore. So its impossible to shot in adventure mode. The only way to use is on custom worlds with infinite ammo enabled
I have a hacked enclave plasma flamer, last I checked it is still labeled as explosive, but the projectiles do not explode, still projectiles rather than green mist though. the model does not have a visible magazine, there is just a hole where it should be. should still be fun to use, and now it wont kill me as much. I had legit weapons that did more damage faster before this one got nerfed, Well, I guess that hasnt changed lol. I paid 30k caps for it in a random player vender, and bought a flamer barrel for another 20k.

Alot of people are going to find their builds are really weak and not put together properly in two weeks.
That stamina bar bug has been around for a while. It hits me a lot, especially during IftS events at the Capitol Building.

The AP bar glitch is on live too and definitely worse in the last few weeks. Kinda fun for head critting the Queen with a railway though.

Legacy effects shouldn’t be touched, like there is 0 end game in 76 besides trying to hunt down these weapons, half the players still playing will probably quit

I am not sure if I should be happy or disappointed about this news. I don't think I have anything that qualifies for this " Legacy weapon " fix. I am disappointed that I never managed to get a Legacy Weapon in almost 4,000 hours of this game.

Time to go find a new game. Fallout 76 has the final nail in the coffin. Grinded so much over the years just for it to be wasted. They have already nerfed my bloodied melee build into the ground. Along with any other gun I have heavy and explosive.

Weeelll... In many ways radiation damage _is_ ballistic, albeit at the microscopic level.
When our cells encounter a beta particle or X/Gamma ray they are sometimes damaged because the particle/wave strikes them and _can_ physically knock off an electron. They 'ionise' the individual chemical structures--hence the term 'ionising radiation'. This usually leads to apoptosis where the cell notices something is wrong and destroys itself just to be sure our whole body suffers no lasting harm beyond losing the function of that specific cell. However it can of course potentially lead to cancer if the self-monitoring and immune response fails along with the ionized piece of DNA being involved in the replication areas of the Genome.
So... It is ballistic damage. Sort of!

The stamina has always been like that from my experience at least. That's been in the final version of the game since I started playing before The Pitt DLC dropped. Another visual bug is that when you consume a food or drink item your character consumes said food or drink, but your meter does not fill up. But I think you could chalk that one up to being too fast of inputs to the server to keep up like right after loading in. BUT STILL! It's frustrating when you eat the food that you cook or drink the alcoholic drink you've been fermenting just for it to get wasted by the server not being able to keep up with my inputs! Infuriating!

The simple fact that the Radium rifle uses .45 caliber ammo makes it a ballistic weapon, and the fact radiation is added to the bullet does not make it an energy weapon.

True, but there are also times where they "fixed" something and it never came back.. so far. The explosion damage formula going from distance from the ground to just working regardless for example..

When it comes to item modifications and legendary effects once its gone, it's forever gone, even if the modifications are suddenly able to work again, it doesn't just magically restore deleted content.
@@Junkzillabox pretty sure that would depend on how bethesda initiated the fix. IN past cases, bethesda added issues back into the game because they work on builds that are 2 or 3 cycles back. So its possible for the next couple iterations. Not being an expert on how bethesda works, hard for me to say. I just lack any sort of belief in bethesda as a studio. Here we are worrying about legacies, when there are many; and in my opinion more immediate issues. But hey, explody guns are ruining peoples good time. Nevermind that servers lag constantly... nevermind that I cant fast travel... nevermind that I cant play with my friends... nevermind the numerous other things that would improve the game and its performance... I cant have a explody energy gun so you cant either... oh and its ruining my good time way more than the server instability.
@@robertgoodnight Those issues are basically engine coding style stuff, but when it comes to items, once it's been deleted, it's gone. You would have find a way to inject it back in, which is unlikely. The stuff you are talking about is part of the engine coding so its a lot more complex. Legacies are just uncontrollable, plus people have been bragging about how Bethesda will never take care of that problem ever since release and then double into a shocked Pikachu face when Bethesda actually does something permanent about it. Slowly things are getting fixed and staying fixed, just a matter of time. That's progress.

6:10 It is not the final build of the DLC its on a test server... simple as that. Anything and everything in the PTS is subject to change. If Bethesda deems the legacy fix too risky and may cause an even bigger controversy... they will definitely leave it out. Pro-legacy ban here, just clarifying that you never know if it's ACTUALLY gonna drop this December, it could ALWAYS change.
Yes but a lot of the time on the pts normal if its not some sort of bug it will stay they have already proven this multiple times

As they are changing Radium Rifle, I think I will farm some Adhesive to craft and scrap as many Radium Rifles as I can before the patch to unlock missing mods. After the patch it no longer counts as energy weapon, so the perk Science Expert to reduce the crafting costs will no longer work.

I can believe both happened: there are some fixes and changes that very much should have been implemented by now that are probably simple, but at the same time what may be perceived as a "fix" might have had an unintended effect. It could create an exploit, a memory leak, an unintended buff that makes things worse, etc. I'm not going to say that they couldn't get things to work, but there could have been some secondary or tertiary effect of that brief update that seemed to fix things that could have potentially been REALLY bad if it went live. They may have thought they had it right and then found out they had to scrap the entire "solution" as the method just couldn't be implemented without the issue paired with it.
As much as Bethesda has the well-earned infamous reputation of making games with some really screwy tech behind them, I also really don't agree with people that say "just tweak whatever code you have, you already had it just about right." Not to sound too much like the guy in the quote, but something almost working isn't always just a few tweaks away from getting it properly right.

I guess with this update everyone and I mean everyone will "git gud" and play bloodied. I did enjoy playing full health with an explosive flamer. Not that OP, not that weak. Decent AoE damage. Now I do feel forced to switch to a low health build to keep up the numbers and not grow old shooting at a gulper. And when a game forces me to do things I kinda loose interest. I guess it was fun while it lasted. No regrets. On the other hand... "Goooooood morning Night City!"
Few days back one guys was selling 70+ 3* weapons...i told myself,great,trap camp,lets see if he is creative...i went there and it wasnt trap camp,instead he was selling ONLY legacies...IDENTICAL 20+ exploding plasma gatlings and IDENTICAL 30+ exploding flamers and so on...glad that this cheating is going to be deleted!

Stamina bar has been a bug for a while. Every time i load up i get infinite stamina few a bit till the game actually registers the stamina use. Looks like it might just be getting worse.

I bet money they r banking on nuka update carrying the game psst the legacy removal. Ultimately tho it'll keep those that haven't already left busy for a couple weeks, then they'll b back with nothing to do, with an extremely barron road map for the next 3 or 4 Months, and they few things vets have to do like farm nukes will now take FOREVER in comparison. 99% of hacked weapon were based in cross mods from other weapons. They are gone and most don't have explosive anymore. The only surviving ones are very specially rare and all of them very weak and or useless.
I have like 5 or 6 legacy explo 2 shot guns. Time to grind for new guns :)

I was sick of all the op weapons users taking all the rewards and felt it was pointless to update the game with new content if a small group of players hoarded all the XP and rewards. The orbital strike doesn't have any type of ammo attached to anymore. So its impossible to shot in adventure mode. The only way to use is on custom worlds with infinite ammo enabled

I have a hacked enclave plasma flamer, last I checked it is still labeled as explosive, but the projectiles do not explode, still projectiles rather than green mist though. the model does not have a visible magazine, there is just a hole where it should be. should still be fun to use, and now it wont kill me as much. I had legit weapons that did more damage faster before this one got nerfed, Well, I guess that hasnt changed lol. I paid 30k caps for it in a random player vender, and bought a flamer barrel for another 20k.
