They should also fix the silo exploits and armor exploits and... Honestly, if they fix everything, some things even retroactive, i don't see a point in playing this game once you finish quests ? Scoreboard is mostly cosmetic, so who's gonna bother ? And all the people applauding the deletion of legacies... Yes, they should be deleted in public worlds, no question about it. But do prepare for the future, where you won't kill every SBQ let alone Earl. There will be nobody left to carry lazy players. And since we know, how people are when it comes to actually working for common good... i do see a possibility of all this cheers and applauses turning into rage and tears in not so distant future. Who's gonna spend thousands on bullets on boss for other people to prosper ? Sure, there will be heroes, but very few. I mean who's gonna launch the nukes, if they fix the nukacrypt exploit ? And let's be honest, they SHOULD fix it, it's a cheat. And no silo doors mod, that almost everyone uses... Who will launch all the nukes for players to enjoy, m ? The game will change, i hope for the better. But at the end of the day... only time will tell.
"Everyone" does not need a carry. Maybe without your heroic efforts, those players can learn to spec better and use current non-legacy weapons that do just fine against bosses. Instead of hiding behind a rain of explosive plasma, they can pick up a railway, fixer, enclave plasma, 50cal, flamer, handmade or any other competent weapon to succeed.
Personally, it sucks because l spent a ton of time trading for one but willing to take the L due to scammers having hoards of them from robing players. I still have godrolls heavies, fixers etc, l can survive

I’ve been playing since beta, hence the reason l have a collection to go to, if l want to play commando, l have a bunch of fixers and handmades. If l want to play heavy gunner, l have a bunch of 50 cals, mini’s, gp’s etc.
As long as the mirelurk bug exists, it is a source of massive xp. Especially during double XP weekend, load yourself up with some lunch boxes and other buffs and you will level up so quickly

Bethesda has said multiple times that they are going to do something about legacy weapons but didn't know what yet. I just dislike that people will get to keep levels/items they obtained using legacies, if your account has a legacy it should be rolled back to before you got it

I am probably one of the few day one people lucky enough to have had drop a legacy, a quad explosive aim down sight damage resist tesla, and the thing is i never new it was a legacy at the time cause i prefered shotguns and never used it much sinch it broke way to fast, so in the it went, then when my two shot exploise pump shotgun got nerfed I stopped playing and maybe a year ago started playing to find my tesla and now with repairing on demand it was actually viable so i'll happily use it until it gets nerfed and hey atleast i keep the quad part, but seriously attacking the minority for what the majority did is just plain stupid, yes hackers made the game shit for years, but bethesda is to blame to, so just take that salt somewhere else, the game is finally being addressed, people will no longer make money out of legacies, and people who owned legacies, atleast half will leave the game, and half will go back to bloodied builds so, chillax!!

Imagine being a player who *only used legacy weapon's* once you got it you never used anything else, didn't bother to get the more powerful energy weapons and after this update.. You log into 76, only to find out as your firing at an enemy (assuming you only had the one legacy) your legacy weapon is now a standard Bloodied Fire Rate Laser Rifle *(an example weapon)* you didn't bother to get the more powerful energy weapons thinking you were keeping that legacy weapon for good and now you're trying to play catch-up to grab either a Gauss Shotgun, Plasma Caster, Enclave Plama Flamer, War Glaive and so on. At the same time I feel pity for legacy user's losing their main weapons but at the same time biting my lip with a grin. Knowing that not everything coming up from the rad mines is going to be obliterated in mere seconds by someone spraying an Explosive Gatling Plasma down the hallway during Radiation Rumble stealing all the XP or loading into The Queen Event only for it to be dead and over before I finish loading and unable to loot the queen myself. At least with Earl there's a wait time for people to group up before everyone jumping down to fight the Colossus. Perhaps they change the queen to have a small window of time for people to gather up then fight her? Probably not but now there's going to be an actual challenge to fight these endgame bosses
@@simplemachine256 They should absolutely balance the game better, make more weapons useful and make bosses have less HP total. but I am not shedding a tear for the pain that has been the legacy weapons.. so much lag and the amount of times I get only a fraction of the event XP because a legacy is killing them all before I can do anything at all.. mostly because they lag my game so much.. I used to play with 2 friends and it would be nice to be able to play everything in private worlds with only 3-4 people, so a balance to make this work would be nice. more people = harder content would work fine with me
Been playing Bethesda games for a long time now I’m completely done. Been in 76 since beta day 2 till now. No more no long. They dumped 76 in a load of crap but stuck with them it took them close to two years to get it fixed now at almost 4 years it’s playable. Goodbye for good
Its good that legacy’s will be gone. To many events get ruined by the legacy griefers. Ok its sad for those very few that got them legally in the very start of the game. But since almost all existing legacy’s are duped its a small price to pay. For those crying bosses will be to hard now. I see no reason why aslong as you have 3 players at event that know what they are doing they go down more then fast enough without legacy’s. So i feel sorry for the guys that really believe the queen and earl are meant to do solo easily…
If you got a problem with them taking your legacies then blame the jackrabbits running around killing everything instantly making it next to impossible to get any XP in events. It's a joke, stop complaining. Not only that instakilling the queen needs to stop.

But most legacy users, mainly those who got one after they were taken out of the lootpool (via ebay or so) never became vets and only can spam the bosses and crowd control mobs with their legacies without knowing how to get it done without.

I earned my legacy explosive harpoon guns from farming mobs in game. They are taking them away from me, not compensating me, and then labelling me a cheater. Lazy developers shifting the blame on the player.

Right! Like my Explosive Harpoon guns ever caused anyone grief. I used them as a sniper weapon for my Heavy gunner. My commando never stole any kills with its AAE Radium Rifle. Taking stuff I earned from farming mobs.
balancing mean making the game vanilla .... which they have tried to do all along the way. They have nerfed every powerful build into the ground (TS, Bloodied, Junkies, etc.... ) they have nerfed melee damange time and time again ... they have nerfed armor set like the Thorn ... now they have taken out legacies and even Enclave weapons are nerfed on the pts as well. So in the end, we are all going to run around the wasteland in one big pillow fight

Wowza... Their gonna go through with the Removal of Legacy Weapon's? Like actually? Perhaps I'll be able to load into Scorched Earth without the Queen already being dead finally! You know what this means for PVP? PVP will be *more fair* and everyone ( depending on your build into PVP ) will have a chance to fight without being able to shred someone in seconds. Personally I think PVP needs to be removed, remove the bounty system and disable player's from picking the locks in your C.A.M.P however with the removal of Legacy Weapon's perhaps PVP has a chance to be revived and could be revamped..
I do think the strategies used in PVP currently will remain like stealth boys, spamming quantums, spamming super stims in power armor and so on but there won't be the problem of them carrying an Explosive Gatling Plasma killing you instantly

Im a firm believer of karma. This legacy purge of hacked/duped weapons will be a most welcome change. So tired of people going to events anf killing bosses in a few seconds or wiping all mobs in radiation rumble before anyone can get a hit. Now they're scrambling to sell them for any form of profit. Oh so satisfying.

Lol, this will do nothing. I just killed the queen in a pub server with my crit commando in a little over 10 seconds. Q50c15r Railway with a full crit build, revenant, 10 canned coffee at a time plus chems, bobbles, food, etc. Had she landed she would have died faster but I had to kill her in the sky. Legacies are not as OP as people think.

For me the easy answer is, we all knew this day was coming. If you paid real money for an item on the website you knew that one day you were not gonna be able to use that item. And we knew this because Bethesda took these weapons out of the game. What they didn’t do was delete the ones that people had at the time. Vet gave a small percentage of the current players a weapon that was deleted from the game. Duplication aside, PC versus console aside. We all knew what was coming but after three years we honestly didn’t think it was. And now it’s here. What was originally intended by the Thursday years ago. They’re just now cleaning up the mess. The balance has been restored to the game. Looking forward to having the queen still being there by the time I fast travel
Besides none of that matters anyways with the legacy and people start leaving the game forever it's because of the Fallout TV show that's coming that when they're done watching for a day and they want to look up "what game can I play so I can somewhat reenact the TV show or something". The first thing that is going to pop up is Fallout 76.

And besides I am on PS4, normally I'm the guy that is close by The vault 76 and I help out new players give them a low level weapon to start out with some armor and send them on their way, if needed I'll escort them to wherever they need to go in cases of don't know where to go
Hopefully I might consider trying pvp again. Legacy weapons make taking revenge impossible, they don’t need to be accurate so long as you are in range of the explosive blast. Pointless even trying
Well thats a kick in the pants of us few remaining og players. Been with the game since beta, my legacies are organic and taking them from me is like robbing me. Giving this game alot over the years and it just keeps letting me down. Looks like my and others reward for sticking it out and defending the game is a cold shoulder in preferance for new players who will drop tge game iff it stops being part of gamepass. Congrats to the tubers and comp players, you finally got your way. It only cost the player base the remainning orignal players on console.
I got my gat plas from doing bugtheadas job at keeping griefer, scammers, and hackers at bay. Because at one point they never fecking cared about it back then. BUT NOW HOW ARE WE GOING TO STAND UP. Have you shot and killed a stacker with a non legacy it tickles them.
I read so many comments of people feeling sweet satisfaction over other players' misfortune. Don't get me wrong, i agree legacies were way too powerful for the public worlds, and people were honestly not using them for common good but to grief other players, so they had to be "fixed". IMHO and yes, that is my personal opinion, they did it in almost the worst way possible. But i suspect i will see many of the very same players cheering now, soon crying in rage, when they will waste thousands of bullets and tons of supplies on the boss, and they won't be able to kill it. I already see posts "... this game is stupid. OMG what a retarded game..." etc. Let's face it, the majority of players are very casual, and they don't rly know or use the correct perks in sinergy with armor and weapon perks. And no, i don't see them actually taking time to learn (well, very few will i guess), but they will rage quit. After all they are used to an "easy fix" and they will not appreciate the extra effort. Especially since it will mean a lot more investment in bullets and supplies for the same satisfaction and rewards. Why do i suspect that ? Because I've seen it before, right after the game launched, before the OP and hacked weapons. And i predict those times will return. Instead of a nice gameplay that they expect with no legacies, people will get frustrated. Some good players will waste tons of ammo and supplies to kill a boss for other very casual and not invested players, that will simply stand around. They'll do it once, they'll do it twice... then they'll say f*** this and leave. I mean it's only speculation, since we don't know of Bethesda is planning on doing something else in the game. I am always a pessimist when it comes to players, but i guess we'll find out very soon !

But if i were you, i wouldn't hold my breath. They had a good intention, but we know what road to hell is paved with ? With right perks and items some builds are still quite powerfull, but nothing quite like a legacy build. Alas i doubt people will invest time and resources into learning and farming, they want to have fun. And it's a game, so who can blame them, everyone should have fun. The problem is, that in most cases for one to have fun the other must... well if not suffer at least not have fun. Quite impossible to balance things out 100% for everyone. Before people with legacy had the upper hand, they had the fun while others... just followed behind. Some of them had fun since they got easy loot and kills, while others... well. I am afraid now nobody will have fun. But again, i am always pesimist, so let's wait and see.
You dont want to grind for ammo (although the game floods you with contextual ammo everywhere) but want to do crazy damage? Gladly they introduced the new op automelee option. This was a first hind to me that something big could follow.
Agreed, it's not really about the legacy is about basicly starting over. I ground my ass off from beta to get the 2 legacy I have and do I want to do this all over again, NO! This game has become nothing but a grind including the pit update. Different currency for every dlc , more grind. I love this game, but I really don't want to spend more of my casual time grinding a we@pon and grinding for new perks for changing my setup. Honestly I may be done with game. I'll take my fallout first money and go home. Unfair to the long term deticated player.
I'm probably gonna be that person that leaves, I rarely (if ever) join earle or queen because the rewards to ammo ratio aren't worth it, I have all the plans, and I've got flux stockpiled for days. I don't want to do bloodied or commando crit builds, but to able to touch that damage you have to. I miss the days when you could run a lever rifle and a sledgehammer and be able to stand your ground against almost everything in the game outside of mirelurk queens and scorchbeast queens, now even just a basic super mutant will cave your head in (this is speaking from past level 50, the one wasteland made it so enemies become tanky bullet sponges past a certain level point, if I remember right it's once you hit level 30 everything takes almost double the ammo to kill). I miss the old days where melee stood up on it's own, now you have to build a certain gimmick build or just run auto axe.
I think the issue with Pass The Buck is that it spawns mirelurks for each person on the server that has that daily. That's why you saw a normal amount on your custom world and a crazy amount on a public server.
This is what happens when they are abused as a low skilled crutch. I have one that I never used as a primary because it just ruins the game for you and everyone else. Good riddance.
Incredibly happy these broken weapons are going away. If you spent months grinding for legacies then take it as a life lesson. To not waste your money or time on shit that means nothing.
I cannot wait for the legacy weapon fix to hit Xbox. There are so many trolls who bought duped weapons so that they can grief other players and ruin events. This is a much needed quality of life improvement.

The vast majority of people who use legacy weapons are trolls. They bought a duped weapon and use it to ruin the game for other people. IMO there is no downside to this change.

As for a Fatman, maybe you haven't been at Rad Rumble or Evoction notice when someone who knows how to use them is present ... same goes for the AGL .... and every record speed run l, outside of glitched Dragons, has been done with Enclave weapons, not legacies. Legacies are lazy and easy to use, but anyone wanting to destroy an event, still has the ability to do it with ease .... weapons ain't the problem, people are the problem
I used the contact support button in game about a week ago. I accidentally bought something in the Atomic Shop and they sent me an email asking for more information about 2 hours later. When I gave them the info, they responded back a couple of hours later and refunded back my atoms. This was alot faster than any other support tickets I have submitted on the website before. I don't know if maybe they got more people in their support team or using the button in the game just let them know about it faster but whatever it was, it's a hell of alot better.
Actually I expected that a "legacy fix" was coming as Bethesda wrote a few months ago on their Discord that they want to solve the legacy issue before or with the Nukaworld update. Although based on the recent IGN documentation where Bethesda expressed that they expect Legacies to vanish on their own, I thought they scrapped that. But based on the PTS update it seems thats not the case. The only thing really surprising was how they want to solve the legacy issue.
It makes zero sense that they would remove items that dropped, most people dont realise that exp is bugged to begin with as its a math error. instead of being additive with the effect it is multicable. thats why people increase the shot particle counts with these pieces. So instead of Bethesda fixing the math issue and making them unique but not overpowered they are screwing players who have been playing since launch. And yes i have unduped naturally dropped energy exp pieces, as well as 100s of other legit non exp legacy pieces. IMO this only going to affect hacked in weapons which are everywhere on the pts and thats why they are seeing a majority of their things removed
Why not do a nerf and make them drop again they won’t even fix the fast travel bug! But they will practically steal your personally acquired items. At this point I don’t know what would save this game
@@88HAILSTONE iv been a heavy user since the start, and definitely agree on that. SS armour and a few big guns with varying effects on top of the proper card setup.. games a breeze for the most part. I'd like to see PvP make a comeback, and if these explosive energy guns get removed, that could actually happen.
As someone that got Legacy’s from friends as gifts. I will be okay with them gone honestly. I just want Bethesda to better balance stuff. I like using rifles and heavy weapons regardless, so as long as they make things less tanky I’ll be happy. The bosses I’m okay with but I find say in daily ops. Enemies can just be far to damn tanky.
Well, it had to be done, and now I can dump a lot of weight when I dump these useless weapons after the fix. I am kind of curious as to how much stuff I have that will be affected. It will be interesting.

Because of how choppy and thrown together the game feels in some mechanics, I find it hard to tell when and if I’m interacting with a glitch, like the game itself doesn’t preform well on my console. So I don’t think GUNS are the big issue here, I think it’s the games coding itself it wasn’t supposed to be online this is literally fallout 4 but mangled to work in a way it shouldn’t. Don’t get me wrong I still like it enough to log in every so often but I can’t get INTO it, ya feel me?
I really hope Bethesda doesn't let the backlash from legacy defenders prevent them from deleting those weapons. The game will be better off without legacies.
I do not need legacies to kill players at workshops. I do not need legacies to kill the queen in no time at all. I do not need legacies to destroy camps. Nukes work just fine.
it's weapons what do not need patching if new players cannot handle that we have better weapons than they should get over it part of the game why remove something if it was part of the game in the first place. they should fix more important things like glitching through locked doors I'm sick of tired of toxic players glitching through my locked door at camp and destroying it from the inside they should also fix server crashes they never fix the important stuff they should fix unlimited grenades it's been a problem in public events and new players stop getting jealous of our better energy weapons
This is great and all but im worried they wont rebalance anything, some events need to be nerfed in terms of how resistant mods are specifically eviction notice, i can tell the differemce betweem using a aae .50 cal and some dink using a whatever explosive gat plas, its set to legacy damage resist, builds need to be buffed as well specifically crossbow/bow, pistol and shotgunner My idea for shotgunner is this - buff its damage up by 1.5x damage and give it access to tank killer, one shouldnt have to use bloodied or anti armor to be doing lot of damage its insane its like that rn Idea for pistols - this ones pretty simple which is moving around certain perks to have both be moved to perception it would severely benefit pistol builds GREATLY Bow builds - this may sound a bit over the top but i personally think crossbows and bows should have 3x the numbers they show now and have a higher sneak damage multiplier than any build out there, its a single shot weapon just like bp weapons but literally NO ONE uses these, if they got a massive buff i feel like we'd see more bow/crossbow builds in the wastes after energy explosive ones are gone
For sure. I've got a bow build and literally the most damage you can do still doesn't do anything to merit using a bow build unless you just really want one. Lol

About time they get removed. I never owned one, however, I wanted to get one but the game is already easy without an og explosive legacy but owning one would probably make the game boring. So yeah good and bad for those who owned them

As a new player it is a major balancing revamp i hate trying to xp farm events just to be robed of that xp by ppl with legacies. How ever i feel bad for those who paid real monies for said legacies
Yeah good old bathesda all they do is balance updates yet its has been 4 years since the game release and they still didnt release any kind of expansion like in elder scrolls. The game is dying and it might happend soon, Pitt was a grindy and boring and wow 4 years and they add it a third Boss xD while latest one is already forgotten
Im fine with this legacy weapon fix. After the patch ill sort through my inventory and toss any now useless weapons. I think i have 1 legacy atleast, OP and left often unused.

Wouldn't some old legacy's still be a collectors item? three stars with exp removed cant be rolled because it has a one star and three star effect which cant normally be obtained
yes it stays, it is a first slot legendary effect and works as intended. A lot of people overlook this particular effect, it is good regardless of high- or low-health build and doing the Queen.
Most players don't explore and wander around. They just fast travel from objective to objective. And many players don't have as well developed attention to detail as they think they do. Adds up to unaware, yet frequently logged on mindless players.
Finally the only negative is they took too long to do it, so players have gotten attached to it. Clearly balancing the effects would’ve been better but clearly they simply couldn’t. This will help long term
You underestimate how many people have already quit since this new broke. Just because UA-camrs are telling you this is a good thing doesn't mean the community feels the same. This is going to hurt 76 bad. Bet.
@@Jesse-nn1mf The majority of the players have not bought duped legacy weapon's. A small percentage of the player base might move on but that will not kill the game. IMO it will attract a lot of people who quit because of legacy weapon trolls who ruin events for the entire community.

I for one have a decent amount of legacy weapons from a dive into the trading community when I played for a while. I do like my flamers and will be sad to see them go but they did get a little boring after a while. That said Ill be fine with this if it means they can actually balance some weapons so that my preferred pistol build is more viable.
Although I also think Bethesda's approach is too tough. They should reduce the blast damage of energy blast weapons to the same level as normal weapons. Second, this change also affects legacy spawns such as melee weapons with stalker legendary effects, black powder rifles with 25% fire rate, and laser machine guns with four times the ammo capacity. These weapons are not powerful, they don't affect the fairness of the game environment, and they are all weapons I get during the normal game process, but if Bethesda can take these, they can take yours too. any weapon, as they ruled it "illegal".
I also hope that after this change, they will strengthen the forgotten common weapons, such as pistols, or shotguns, to make the game environment more diverse and fair.

@@VetriVade The fire rate of the revolver type is too slow, and the ammunition capacity is only 6 rounds. I can’t say that the damage is high. In the same situation, the automatic rifle has already killed everything. Alien blaster is strong because he uses a damage formula similar to energy blast weapons, I don't think this will last long, Bethesda will fix him sooner or later. The Crusader pistol can't fire continuously and the damage is too low. The 10mm pistol is just a low-level replacement for automatic rifles. Black powder pistol has high damage, but it takes 5 seconds to reload. This 5-second automatic rifle has already killed everything. The Gamma gun has enough damage and can shoot continuously, but the ammunition capacity is only 9 rounds, and it takes 4.33 seconds to reload.
Never like legacies BUT Blackpowder explosives arent legacies nor OP, they still drop... hollow shot, ceramic shot, canister shot and carrack war ships existed in history star spangled banner wasnt just talking about rocket artillery they were also talking about explosive cannon rounds. In a futuristic universe with nuka zappers, rocketbatts & alien blasters you think someone couldnt figure out how to pack a hollow round? Explosive blackpowders are still attainable and stilldrop ingame. instigating explosive pistol dropped from scourched earth for me couple weeks ago.. dont like like being treated like theyre hacks or unattaignable legacies, i spent thousands of scrip and hours earning & storing & coverting scrip to modules to craft roll all but one of mine. And they not OP or game breaking

There's a lot of BE weapons that work fine. Like BE 50 cal or B gatling plasma.
They should also fix the silo exploits and armor exploits and... Honestly, if they fix everything, some things even retroactive, i don't see a point in playing this game once you finish quests ? Scoreboard is mostly cosmetic, so who's gonna bother ? And all the people applauding the deletion of legacies... Yes, they should be deleted in public worlds, no question about it. But do prepare for the future, where you won't kill every SBQ let alone Earl. There will be nobody left to carry lazy players. And since we know, how people are when it comes to actually working for common good... i do see a possibility of all this cheers and applauses turning into rage and tears in not so distant future. Who's gonna spend thousands on bullets on boss for other people to prosper ? Sure, there will be heroes, but very few. I mean who's gonna launch the nukes, if they fix the nukacrypt exploit ? And let's be honest, they SHOULD fix it, it's a cheat. And no silo doors mod, that almost everyone uses... Who will launch all the nukes for players to enjoy, m ? The game will change, i hope for the better. But at the end of the day... only time will tell.

"Everyone" does not need a carry. Maybe without your heroic efforts, those players can learn to spec better and use current non-legacy weapons that do just fine against bosses. Instead of hiding behind a rain of explosive plasma, they can pick up a railway, fixer, enclave plasma, 50cal, flamer, handmade or any other competent weapon to succeed.
Personally, it sucks because l spent a ton of time trading for one but willing to take the L due to scammers having hoards of them from robing players. I still have godrolls heavies, fixers etc, l can survive

I’ve been playing since beta, hence the reason l have a collection to go to, if l want to play commando, l have a bunch of fixers and handmades. If l want to play heavy gunner, l have a bunch of 50 cals, mini’s, gp’s etc.
Players are only angry because they can't sell weapons for money. Get a good build, don't depend on your weapon as much. #getgoodchum
As long as the mirelurk bug exists, it is a source of massive xp. Especially during double XP weekend, load yourself up with some lunch boxes and other buffs and you will level up so quickly

Bethesda has said multiple times that they are going to do something about legacy weapons but didn't know what yet. I just dislike that people will get to keep levels/items they obtained using legacies, if your account has a legacy it should be rolled back to before you got it

I am probably one of the few day one people lucky enough to have had drop a legacy, a quad explosive aim down sight damage resist tesla, and the thing is i never new it was a legacy at the time cause i prefered shotguns and never used it much sinch it broke way to fast, so in the it went, then when my two shot exploise pump shotgun got nerfed I stopped playing and maybe a year ago started playing to find my tesla and now with repairing on demand it was actually viable so i'll happily use it until it gets nerfed and hey atleast i keep the quad part, but seriously attacking the minority for what the majority did is just plain stupid, yes hackers made the game shit for years, but bethesda is to blame to, so just take that salt somewhere else, the game is finally being addressed, people will no longer make money out of legacies, and people who owned legacies, atleast half will leave the game, and half will go back to bloodied builds so, chillax!!

Imagine being a player who *only used legacy weapon's* once you got it you never used anything else, didn't bother to get the more powerful energy weapons and after this update..
You log into 76, only to find out as your firing at an enemy (assuming you only had the one legacy) your legacy weapon is now a standard Bloodied Fire Rate Laser Rifle *(an example weapon)* you didn't bother to get the more powerful energy weapons thinking you were keeping that legacy weapon for good and now you're trying to play catch-up to grab either a Gauss Shotgun, Plasma Caster, Enclave Plama Flamer, War Glaive and so on.
At the same time I feel pity for legacy user's losing their main weapons but at the same time biting my lip with a grin.
Knowing that not everything coming up from the rad mines is going to be obliterated in mere seconds by someone spraying an Explosive Gatling Plasma down the hallway during Radiation Rumble stealing all the XP or loading into The Queen Event only for it to be dead and over before I finish loading and unable to loot the queen myself.
At least with Earl there's a wait time for people to group up before everyone jumping down to fight the Colossus. Perhaps they change the queen to have a small window of time for people to gather up then fight her? Probably not but now there's going to be an actual challenge to fight these endgame bosses

I used to play with 2 friends and it would be nice to be able to play everything in private worlds with only 3-4 people, so a balance to make this work would be nice. more people = harder content would work fine with me
Been playing Bethesda games for a long time now I’m completely done. Been in 76 since beta day 2 till now. No more no long. They dumped 76 in a load of crap but stuck with them it took them close to two years to get it fixed now at almost 4 years it’s playable. Goodbye for good

Its good that legacy’s will be gone. To many events get ruined by the legacy griefers. Ok its sad for those very few that got them legally in the very start of the game. But since almost all existing legacy’s are duped its a small price to pay. For those crying bosses will be to hard now. I see no reason why aslong as you have 3 players at event that know what they are doing they go down more then fast enough without legacy’s. So i feel sorry for the guys that really believe the queen and earl are meant to do solo easily…
If you got a problem with them taking your legacies then blame the jackrabbits running around killing everything instantly making it next to impossible to get any XP in events. It's a joke, stop complaining. Not only that instakilling the queen needs to stop.

But most legacy users, mainly those who got one after they were taken out of the lootpool (via ebay or so) never became vets and only can spam the bosses and crowd control mobs with their legacies without knowing how to get it done without.

I earned my legacy explosive harpoon guns from farming mobs in game. They are taking them away from me, not compensating me, and then labelling me a cheater. Lazy developers shifting the blame on the player.

Right! Like my Explosive Harpoon guns ever caused anyone grief. I used them as a sniper weapon for my Heavy gunner. My commando never stole any kills with its AAE Radium Rifle. Taking stuff I earned from farming mobs.

balancing mean making the game vanilla .... which they have tried to do all along the way. They have nerfed every powerful build into the ground (TS, Bloodied, Junkies, etc.... ) they have nerfed melee damange time and time again ... they have nerfed armor set like the Thorn ... now they have taken out legacies and even Enclave weapons are nerfed on the pts as well. So in the end, we are all going to run around the wasteland in one big pillow fight

You know what this means for PVP?
PVP will be *more fair* and everyone ( depending on your build into PVP ) will have a chance to fight without being able to shred someone in seconds.
Personally I think PVP needs to be removed, remove the bounty system and disable player's from picking the locks in your C.A.M.P however with the removal of Legacy Weapon's perhaps PVP has a chance to be revived and could be revamped..
I do think the strategies used in PVP currently will remain like stealth boys, spamming quantums, spamming super stims in power armor and so on but there won't be the problem of them carrying an Explosive Gatling Plasma killing you instantly

Im a firm believer of karma. This legacy purge of hacked/duped weapons will be a most welcome change. So tired of people going to events anf killing bosses in a few seconds or wiping all mobs in radiation rumble before anyone can get a hit. Now they're scrambling to sell them for any form of profit. Oh so satisfying.

Legacy fix. nice now i will be able to experience a queen fight how it was intended. almost everytime ive been to a queen fight it gets 90% of its health bar deleted in seconds
Lol, this will do nothing. I just killed the queen in a pub server with my crit commando in a little over 10 seconds. Q50c15r Railway with a full crit build, revenant, 10 canned coffee at a time plus chems, bobbles, food, etc. Had she landed she would have died faster but I had to kill her in the sky.

The vast majority of legacy weapon's are duped. That's against the terms of service. No compensation is needed for people who broke the rules.

For me the easy answer is, we all knew this day was coming. If you paid real money for an item on the website you knew that one day you were not gonna be able to use that item. And we knew this because Bethesda took these weapons out of the game. What they didn’t do was delete the ones that people had at the time. Vet gave a small percentage of the current players a weapon that was deleted from the game. Duplication aside, PC versus console aside. We all knew what was coming but after three years we honestly didn’t think it was. And now it’s here. What was originally intended by the Thursday years ago. They’re just now cleaning up the mess. The balance has been restored to the game. Looking forward to having the queen still being there by the time I fast travel
Besides none of that matters anyways with the legacy and people start leaving the game forever it's because of the Fallout TV show that's coming that when they're done watching for a day and they want to look up "what game can I play so I can somewhat reenact the TV show or something". The first thing that is going to pop up is Fallout 76.

And besides I am on PS4, normally I'm the guy that is close by The vault 76 and I help out new players give them a low level weapon to start out with some armor and send them on their way, if needed I'll escort them to wherever they need to go in cases of don't know where to go
Hopefully I might consider trying pvp again. Legacy weapons make taking revenge impossible, they don’t need to be accurate so long as you are in range of the explosive blast. Pointless even trying
Well thats a kick in the pants of us few remaining og players. Been with the game since beta, my legacies are organic and taking them from me is like robbing me. Giving this game alot over the years and it just keeps letting me down. Looks like my and others reward for sticking it out and defending the game is a cold shoulder in preferance for new players who will drop tge game iff it stops being part of gamepass. Congrats to the tubers and comp players, you finally got your way. It only cost the player base the remainning orignal players on console.
I got my gat plas from doing bugtheadas job at keeping griefer, scammers, and hackers at bay. Because at one point they never fecking cared about it back then. BUT NOW HOW ARE WE GOING TO STAND UP. Have you shot and killed a stacker with a non legacy it tickles them.
I read so many comments of people feeling sweet satisfaction over other players' misfortune. Don't get me wrong, i agree legacies were way too powerful for the public worlds, and people were honestly not using them for common good but to grief other players, so they had to be "fixed". IMHO and yes, that is my personal opinion, they did it in almost the worst way possible. But i suspect i will see many of the very same players cheering now, soon crying in rage, when they will waste thousands of bullets and tons of supplies on the boss, and they won't be able to kill it. I already see posts "... this game is stupid. OMG what a retarded game..." etc. Let's face it, the majority of players are very casual, and they don't rly know or use the correct perks in sinergy with armor and weapon perks. And no, i don't see them actually taking time to learn (well, very few will i guess), but they will rage quit. After all they are used to an "easy fix" and they will not appreciate the extra effort. Especially since it will mean a lot more investment in bullets and supplies for the same satisfaction and rewards. Why do i suspect that ? Because I've seen it before, right after the game launched, before the OP and hacked weapons. And i predict those times will return. Instead of a nice gameplay that they expect with no legacies, people will get frustrated. Some good players will waste tons of ammo and supplies to kill a boss for other very casual and not invested players, that will simply stand around. They'll do it once, they'll do it twice... then they'll say f*** this and leave. I mean it's only speculation, since we don't know of Bethesda is planning on doing something else in the game. I am always a pessimist when it comes to players, but i guess we'll find out very soon !
Once they remove the stupidly overpowered weapons, they can go back and balance all the enemies.
@@soangry Yes, but you see, there is a small difference between can and will. Can they ? Yes. Will they ? .... I will judge from past experience, so i can be totally wrong here. But if i were you, i wouldn't hold my breath. They had a good intention, but we know what road to hell is paved with ? With right perks and items some builds are still quite powerfull, but nothing quite like a legacy build. Alas i doubt people will invest time and resources into learning and farming, they want to have fun. And it's a game, so who can blame them, everyone should have fun. The problem is, that in most cases for one to have fun the other must... well if not suffer at least not have fun. Quite impossible to balance things out 100% for everyone. Before people with legacy had the upper hand, they had the fun while others... just followed behind. Some of them had fun since they got easy loot and kills, while others... well. I am afraid now nobody will have fun. But again, i am always pesimist, so let's wait and see.
You dont want to grind for ammo (although the game floods you with contextual ammo everywhere) but want to do crazy damage? Gladly they introduced the new op automelee option.

Agreed, it's not really about the legacy is about basicly starting over. I ground my ass off from beta to get the 2 legacy I have and do I want to do this all over again, NO! This game has become nothing but a grind including the pit update. Different currency for every dlc , more grind. I love this game, but I really don't want to spend more of my casual time grinding a we@pon and grinding for new perks for changing my setup. Honestly I may be done with game. I'll take my fallout first money and go home. Unfair to the long term deticated player.
I'm probably gonna be that person that leaves, I rarely (if ever) join earle or queen because the rewards to ammo ratio aren't worth it, I have all the plans, and I've got flux stockpiled for days. I don't want to do bloodied or commando crit builds, but to able to touch that damage you have to. I miss the days when you could run a lever rifle and a sledgehammer and be able to stand your ground against almost everything in the game outside of mirelurk queens and scorchbeast queens, now even just a basic super mutant will cave your head in (this is speaking from past level 50, the one wasteland made it so enemies become tanky bullet sponges past a certain level point, if I remember right it's once you hit level 30 everything takes almost double the ammo to kill).
I miss the old days where melee stood up on it's own, now you have to build a certain gimmick build or just run auto axe.
I think the issue with Pass The Buck is that it spawns mirelurks for each person on the server that has that daily. That's why you saw a normal amount on your custom world and a crazy amount on a public server.

Incredibly happy these broken weapons are going away. If you spent months grinding for legacies then take it as a life lesson. To not waste your money or time on shit that means nothing.
I cannot wait for the legacy weapon fix to hit Xbox. There are so many trolls who bought duped weapons so that they can grief other players and ruin events. This is a much needed quality of life improvement.

The vast majority of people who use legacy weapons are trolls. They bought a duped weapon and use it to ruin the game for other people. IMO there is no downside to this change.

As for a Fatman, maybe you haven't been at Rad Rumble or Evoction notice when someone who knows how to use them is present ... same goes for the AGL .... and every record speed run l, outside of glitched Dragons, has been done with Enclave weapons, not legacies. Legacies are lazy and easy to use, but anyone wanting to destroy an event, still has the ability to do it with ease .... weapons ain't the problem, people are the problem

I worked my ass of to get my legacy gear, The power armor and guns, I'm a day 1 player and that stuff wasn't easy to get
I would want them fixed so that way we wouldn’t be stuck with weak weapons.
I used the contact support button in game about a week ago. I accidentally bought something in the Atomic Shop and they sent me an email asking for more information about 2 hours later. When I gave them the info, they responded back a couple of hours later and refunded back my atoms. This was alot faster than any other support tickets I have submitted on the website before. I don't know if maybe they got more people in their support team or using the button in the game just let them know about it faster but whatever it was, it's a hell of alot better.
The support for the Atom Shop seems to be a separate team and I also experienced them being quick to react and helpful.

Actually I expected that a "legacy fix" was coming as Bethesda wrote a few months ago on their Discord that they want to solve the legacy issue before or with the Nukaworld update. Although based on the recent IGN documentation where Bethesda expressed that they expect Legacies to vanish on their own, I thought they scrapped that. But based on the PTS update it seems thats not the case. The only thing really surprising was how they want to solve the legacy issue.
It makes zero sense that they would remove items that dropped, most people dont realise that exp is bugged to begin with as its a math error. instead of being additive with the effect it is multicable. thats why people increase the shot particle counts with these pieces. So instead of Bethesda fixing the math issue and making them unique but not overpowered they are screwing players who have been playing since launch. And yes i have unduped naturally dropped energy exp pieces, as well as 100s of other legit non exp legacy pieces. IMO this only going to affect hacked in weapons which are everywhere on the pts and thats why they are seeing a majority of their things removed
Why not do a nerf and make them drop again they won’t even fix the fast travel bug! But they will practically steal your personally acquired items. At this point I don’t know what would save this game

I'd like to see PvP make a comeback, and if these explosive energy guns get removed, that could actually happen.
As someone that got Legacy’s from friends as gifts. I will be okay with them gone honestly. I just want Bethesda to better balance stuff. I like using rifles and heavy weapons regardless, so as long as they make things less tanky I’ll be happy. The bosses I’m okay with but I find say in daily ops. Enemies can just be far to damn tanky.
Well, it had to be done, and now I can dump a lot of weight when I dump these useless weapons after the fix. I am kind of curious as to how much stuff I have that will be affected. It will be interesting.

Because of how choppy and thrown together the game feels in some mechanics, I find it hard to tell when and if I’m interacting with a glitch, like the game itself doesn’t preform well on my console. So I don’t think GUNS are the big issue here, I think it’s the games coding itself it wasn’t supposed to be online this is literally fallout 4 but mangled to work in a way it shouldn’t. Don’t get me wrong I still like it enough to log in every so often but I can’t get INTO it, ya feel me?
I really hope Bethesda doesn't let the backlash from legacy defenders prevent them from deleting those weapons. The game will be better off without legacies.

it's weapons what do not need patching if new players cannot handle that we have better weapons than they should get over it part of the game why remove something if it was part of the game in the first place. they should fix more important things like glitching through locked doors I'm sick of tired of toxic players glitching through my locked door at camp and destroying it from the inside they should also fix server crashes they never fix the important stuff they should fix unlimited grenades it's been a problem in public events and new players stop getting jealous of our better energy weapons
This is great and all but im worried they wont rebalance anything, some events need to be nerfed in terms of how resistant mods are specifically eviction notice, i can tell the differemce betweem using a aae .50 cal and some dink using a whatever explosive gat plas, its set to legacy damage resist, builds need to be buffed as well specifically crossbow/bow, pistol and shotgunner
My idea for shotgunner is this - buff its damage up by 1.5x damage and give it access to tank killer, one shouldnt have to use bloodied or anti armor to be doing lot of damage its insane its like that rn
Idea for pistols - this ones pretty simple which is moving around certain perks to have both be moved to perception it would severely benefit pistol builds GREATLY
Bow builds - this may sound a bit over the top but i personally think crossbows and bows should have 3x the numbers they show now and have a higher sneak damage multiplier than any build out there, its a single shot weapon just like bp weapons but literally NO ONE uses these, if they got a massive buff i feel like we'd see more bow/crossbow builds in the wastes after energy explosive ones are gone

About time they get removed. I never owned one, however, I wanted to get one but the game is already easy without an og explosive legacy but owning one would probably make the game boring. So yeah good and bad for those who owned them

As a new player it is a major balancing revamp i hate trying to xp farm events just to be robed of that xp by ppl with legacies. How ever i feel bad for those who paid real monies for said legacies
Yeah good old bathesda all they do is balance updates yet its has been 4 years since the game release and they still didnt release any kind of expansion like in elder scrolls. The game is dying and it might happend soon, Pitt was a grindy and boring and wow 4 years and they add it a third Boss xD while latest one is already forgotten

Wouldn't some old legacy's still be a collectors item? three stars with exp removed cant be rolled because it has a one star and three star effect which cant normally be obtained
Hopefully the zealot effect remains got a zealots shotgun from a legendary scorched and it does +50% damage to scorched
yes it stays, it is a first slot legendary effect and works as intended. A lot of people overlook this particular effect, it is good regardless of high- or low-health build and doing the Queen.

I for one have a decent amount of legacy weapons from a dive into the trading community when I played for a while. I do like my flamers and will be sad to see them go but they did get a little boring after a while. That said Ill be fine with this if it means they can actually balance some weapons so that my preferred pistol build is more viable.
Although I also think Bethesda's approach is too tough. They should reduce the blast damage of energy blast weapons to the same level as normal weapons.
Second, this change also affects legacy spawns such as melee weapons with stalker legendary effects, black powder rifles with 25% fire rate, and laser machine guns with four times the ammo capacity. These weapons are not powerful, they don't affect the fairness of the game environment, and they are all weapons I get during the normal game process, but if Bethesda can take these, they can take yours too. any weapon, as they ruled it "illegal".
I also hope that after this change, they will strengthen the forgotten common weapons, such as pistols, or shotguns, to make the game environment more diverse and fair.
Pistol builds are already extremely viable if you have enough legendary perk cards to equip everything
@@VetriVade No, pistols are still not comparable to The Fixer or Railway rifles in terms of damage, ammo capacity, rate of fire, or DPS, not to mention that the pistol's damage card is assigned to agility, and that is the biggest disadvantage

Alien blaster is strong because he uses a damage formula similar to energy blast weapons, I don't think this will last long, Bethesda will fix him sooner or later.
The Crusader pistol can't fire continuously and the damage is too low.
The 10mm pistol is just a low-level replacement for automatic rifles.
Black powder pistol has high damage, but it takes 5 seconds to reload. This 5-second automatic rifle has already killed everything.
The Gamma gun has enough damage and can shoot continuously, but the ammunition capacity is only 9 rounds, and it takes 4.33 seconds to reload.

Never like legacies BUT Blackpowder explosives arent legacies nor OP, they still drop... hollow shot, ceramic shot, canister shot and carrack war ships existed in history star spangled banner wasnt just talking about rocket artillery they were also talking about explosive cannon rounds. In a futuristic universe with nuka zappers, rocketbatts & alien blasters you think someone couldnt figure out how to pack a hollow round? Explosive blackpowders are still attainable and stilldrop ingame. instigating explosive pistol dropped from scourched earth for me couple weeks ago.. dont like like being treated like theyre hacks or unattaignable legacies, i spent thousands of scrip and hours earning & storing & coverting scrip to modules to craft roll all but one of mine. And they not OP or game breaking
