@@rolfjohansen5376: Not really. According to Wikipedia she was born in Stavanger, but lived in a small village, Høle then moved to a house in the woods "near" Bergen, in the Os mountains. So those towns are given to give an idea of where to place her on the map, but she didn't live in either city. Apparently she had a very free childhood in the countryside.

Grew up in the northern forests of Norway. No television, radio or internet. An old record player and a small broken piano which she taught herself to play. She is a forest fairy which has become a Viking Shield Maiden fighting to save humanity from itself. Aurora and Angelina are changing the music industry one song at a time. Oh god, pls more Aurora. She is natural amazing being human. Singer Songwriter. Just a wonderfull human. She is a true Viking (Norwegian)
Her fanbase she call "warriors and weirdos".
Everything you see of her is real. The way she appears, she is also private. She does not pretend, is thoroughly honest. Highly talented. She started making music when she was 6 years old. Completed her first song when she was 9 years old. It is balm for the soul.
You should prefer to watch her live performance. Her Haik concert in the forest (7 songs) and her Nobel Peace Price Concert (3 Songs) are must see.
There are also hardly any copyright problems. They are very moderate there, like nightwish.
Aurora is an amazing and unique artist she does sing modern indie pop songs that are really good but in my opinion her song "Through the eyes of a child" (Live at Nidarosdomen) is something truly special.
Can you imagine how her voice echoed in that place, truly a must listen.

She is so disinhibiting for me. I am always holding tension in my body, battling chronic illness and feel anxious a lot. When I listen and watch Aurora, I melt. She soothes my whole body and mind. She is an angel. I have so much gratitude for her. When I see her paint the words of her songs with her body so relaxed, I start to feel tension drain out of me. I am so happy you liked this performance.

The first couple of times I heard Aurora, I thought "meh." I was wrong! So wrong! I'm hearing and watching her now -- REALLY hearing and watching her ...... and I'm glad y'all can't see a 65-year old man crying from the sheer beauty of this performance! Extraordinary what she does with her hands and voice in complementary precision with one another, like paint and paintbrush to canvass. I wish her all the best!
Aurora live in concert is even more magical. Only an artist of the highest quality can make a song about a difficult topic (in this case violence in relationships) beautiful. It is not only her vocal and performance skills but the intensity and depth of her song writing is extraordinary for one so young. To see her evolution and versatility, investigate the Nobel Peace Prize concert 2015 ("Runaway" written when she was 11), Nidarosdomen 2017 ("Through The Eyes Of A Child", the whole concert is like a Renaissance masterpiece) and HAIK 2019, filmed in the forest where Aurora played as a child ("The River" or "Daydreamer"). This petite powerhouse will have you constantly enthralled.
AURORA, is a Norwegian singer and songwriter.(From the same country as Angelina Jordan). Among artists and in the music industry the Norwegian singer AURORA is synonymous with quality, and she can fill a record with masterpieces time and time again. Many others are glad they manage one hit. Billie Eilish said in an interview that it was AURORA that made her become an artist and were inspired after listen to Aurora. She is a true genius artist who does not make plastic / bikini music, but is true to real creative art.

If you are familiar with the Harry Potter world and its characters, I think of Aurora as being the Luna Lovegood of the music world, but in the best possible way. That otherworldly, wistful sounding voice! 😍

Aurora is her own genre
Aurora is everybody's favourite Viking Singer Songwriter. Champion for all introverts. I've not heard her sing a bum song. I have her albums and listen to everything of hers that I can. She seems to embody a naturalness and gentleness. She always comes across as a sensitive and reserved person but with a hint of playfulness. Her songs are powerful, sometimes dark, Her voice shines especially when she harmonises with Silja Sol, (as here). to those of us who have found her she's phenomenal. But still so many people have not heard of her, even after her voice appeared on Frozen 2 as the spirit...

Hello there. Sweden here. Follow her six years now and i have probably hear all reactions the last 1,5 years and you are one of the best. I love your texting in the song. So nice. You are knowing what you doing lady. Subscribe. It doesn't reallly matter if she sings herself and with a piano or with a symphony orchestra.... But i prefer the first more personally. She never done a dull performace it is from great to through the roof and into space. My suggestion will be. AURORA - Lucky in Nidarosdomen. My favourite performance of this soulhealer. Känns ibland som att jag är den enda som inte är så förtjust i Nidarosdomen. Har sett det mesta med Aurora både när det gäller intervjuer och musik. Dock så har jag bara sett korta segment av konserten i Nidarosdomen. För mycket ljud runt omkring. The Current är så jag vill uppleva Aurora. :)
@@mikaeljacobsson1437 Tycker väldigt mycket om cirka hälften av sångerna i Nidarosdomen. Jag håller med om att det blir rörigt. Men några. Min favorit är Lucky som är väldigt närgången och naket. Hon är ju som bäst (hon blir ju aldrig genomsnittlig 😉) när hon är själv eller trio. Fast det är vad jag tycker.

Her live performance of Runaway at the Nobel price show will show you full body performance compared to this one. In that one she almost don't seem to be aware of her surroundings. Really amazing performance.
'the seed' is definetly one of my favorite of her more powerful songs, highly recommend. 'running with the wolves' is another really good one.
some of her softer songs are 'exist for love'' and 'murder song'. shes so talented and all her songs are perfection.

Lovely reaction, the first of many I hope. :) Her backup singer (at times co-singer one might say) is Silja Sol... an award winning singer/songwriter herself. Just one thing, it sounds like the audio is slightly sped up when you compare it to the Current version. Almost like the old PAL pitched DVDs, if you remember those (made everyone sound slightly chipmunk-y). Not a big deal, but I’m sure it’s possible to fix it in the editing, or capture tool, settings. A lot of reviewers have used that Fairy or Elven description, it fits both her music and her life. Innocent, magical, ethereal, other worldly, beautiful, gentle, child like.

But since that may be too much, I have a suggestion: Invite Henry over and get comfortable. Then watch the entire show Aurora did in Nidarosdomen. It is the cathedral in Trondhejm. It is just under one hour and it is a christmas concert. Most other reactors don't really understand the setting "why is she in a church?", but you guys will understand, since it is at very typical nordic style christmas concert. You have probably sung in a similar setting, I would guess. And it is so very very wonderful... Love you back.

She has been writing her own music since she was 6. Writing lyrics (absolute poetry) since she was 9. And has been co-producing all her music for a long while now. She refuses to compromise on her art. She has so much music to discover and has a few different styles. Please continue reacting to her. You will not be disappointed. She is Norwegian.
I highly recommend Through the Eyes of A Child either live at Nidarosdomen or at VEVO UK lift (Stripped). Very different versions of the same song. One with an orchestra and one is accapella. But both are compelling.

So happy you have discovered Aurora! I really enjoyed your reaction. Her music doesn't enter through your ears but rather through your soul.
Aurora is the total package - singer, songwriter, musician, dancer, producer/arranger, choreographer, and an absolutely lovely human being (and she’s just 24 years old!). She will often perform her songs quite differently - sometimes with her band, other times stripped down to just her and one instrument, a cappella, with full orchestra, etc. - so it is definitely worth listening to different versions of the same song. Also, some of her videos are mini-masterpieces as well.

Recommendations? anything from the Nidarosdomen or Bergen Orchestral performances, her personal remake of Into The Unknown, or anything she has done in her native Norwegian, my personal favorite is Winter Bird, love that song, it is not in Norwegian.
She can and does sing in Old Norse at times.
I really like your first reaction to Aurora, she has been close to my heart right from when she entered the public scene.
You've got plenty of suggestions below, I recommend you start with Runaway, the video, or live from 2015 Nobel Peace Prize concert.
Please also know that her videos and performances are VERY varied, from the softest you just reacted to, to some intense funky and quite contemporary stuff. From soft solo pieces to a full philharmonic orchestra she excels. Also she is a metal head, plays the harp, great dancer, direct most of her videos, produces, arranges her music and is very fun in interviews.
A very sweet approach about a very dark theme. 'the earth coloured red,,,, love is wild'. A violent love afair. Did you notice?
Aurora is delicate, deep, sweet, very expressive, emotional and performative and adorable. Despite the different style of music, her style reminds me of Kate Bush in her early career. In fact, the two approached the same theme and made two beautiful songs about "seeing the world through the eyes of a child". Kate Bush with: The man whit child in hisc eyes, and Aurora with: Throught eyes of a child. They are truly two wonderful divas.

Try put that in a music category, you will fail. I have only seen about 3 or 4 Aurora songs but they are all haunting and brilliant.
Remarkably accurate what you intuitively gathered about Aurora from her music. She literally grew up in a forest in the Lysefjord and draws inspiration from nature (The Seed, The River, Running with the Wolves and more). She is the embodiment of a forest nymph but writes powerful lyrics about social issues and the dark side of human nature as in It Happened Quiet and Murder Song. Bravo!

Aurora's voice is so beautiful and gentle as you say, and has such an ethereal quality. My first listen gave me this very peaceful feeling, but I listened to another reactor who looked up the lyrics beforehand and commented on them, as well as the technique she uses. I suggest you Google the lyrics. If you do and read them, it becomes clear that this is rather a dark, disturbing song that is belied by her gentle treatment of it, and notice the expressions on her face. When she sings "love is wild," it isn't a good, giddy kind of wild, but she seems to be conveying a lot of pain. A tale of some kind of dysnfrunctional relationship. The "earth colored red" gives that idea of some kind of violence too. But she still sees herself fallng like a flower on the meadow, where it seems safer. Also the rock ground into sand is another hard image. Her voice does take me out of myself to a peaceful, mystical realm. It would be wonderful music to mediate too. I understand Aurora did one of the songs for Frozen. She is from Norway, I think. Thanks for your reaction!
