    I tried this today. Well guess what. Its my first tine making briyani. Turns out great. Didn't add the jaiphal though. Instead added 1tbsp of lazzat briyani mix too. Thank you for making my life easy. Love love🥰🌈

      Hi, it works well in rice cooker, soak your basmati rice 20 minutes after washing it several times till the water is translucent. The meat and spice preparation first adding some oil to avoid sticking then add your rice. If using 3 cups of rice then add only 4 cups of water instead of 6 (multiply rice amount by 2 then minus 2 for water level). Once your rice cooker switches off after cooking it should be ready. Add on top a few saffron water and spoon of ghee or oil and last fried onions. Bon Appétit from Mauritius. Cooking in cast iron pot right now.

    Bonjour je vous remercie pour cette belle recette et je l’ai suivi à la lettre cependant il reste un peu d’eau à chaque fois au fond de la marmite.Le briani est comme mouillé.Et j’ai peur de laisser le briani plus longtemps sur le feu. Du coup que dois faire?Dois je mettre un peu moins d’eau?

      La quantité d'eau que vous mettez dépend de la qualité du riz et aussi de la quantité de riz cuit. Raison: 1. Certains riz absorbent plus d'eau que d'autres.
      2. Autre raison est que le riz était déjà trop cuit avant d'être ajouté avec les épices, donc le riz deviendra pâteux et aura toujours de l'eau au fond.
      3. La quantité d'eau, si vous utilisez la quantité exacte de cette recette, vous ajouterez environ 1 tasse d'eau. Une autre chose à prendre en considération est que le poulet va également libérer de l'eau.

      Wonderful 🤗 Marinate the fish with salt, pepper, a bit of turmeric and lime juice, then fry the fish. The remaining steps are same as the chicken biryani recipe but with less water in the gravy as the fish is already cooked 😊

      Hello, when you will remove the rice, the oil will coat them and while cooking the biryani the rice won't stick together. Some don't like to add too much of oil on top while cooking the biryani, thus this process 😊 thanks for watching ❤

    This is not Mauritian Biryani, the old way is not fried potatoes and onions are cooked in ghee, not browned either, everything is cooked by the vapour. I agree this might be a quick way to cook. Bit was always a special occasion dish....

      The yogurt will tenderise the meat and enhance the flavor and also thicken the gravy. Alternatively you can use coconut milk or cashew nuts paste 🤗
