    Who is Ron Spomer
For 44 years I’ve had the good fortune to photograph and write about my passion - the outdoor life. Wild creatures and wild places have always stirred me - from the first flushing pheasant that frightened me out of my socks in grandpa’s cornfield to the last whitetail that dismissed me with a wag of its tail. In my attempts to connect with this natural wonder, to become an integral part of our ecosystem and capture a bit of its mystery, I’ve photographed, hiked, hunted, birded, and fished across much of this planet. I've seen the beauty that everyone should see, survived adventures that everyone should experience. I may not have climbed the highest mountains, canoed the wildest rivers, caught the largest fish or shot the biggest bucks, but I’ve tried. Perhaps you have, too. And that’s the essential thing. Being out there, an active participant in our outdoor world.

Use the triangle method! It works better because you're not blocking the view from one of your eyes or accidentally focusing on your finger.
Place your thumbs and index together to create a triangle.
start against your face looking through the triangle with both eyes.
Find an object to Center on and push the triangle out to arm's length keeping it centered.
Alternate closing your left and right eye. your dominant eye will see the object centered.
For those with one-arm use any object you can hold against your face that has single hole close to the same diameter as the distance between your eyes.

I shoot right but am left eye dominant. I've had to train myself for years to use my right eye. It comes naturally to me now but was definitely a challenge to overcome in my youth.

Is your vision the same clarity in your right eye or worse? I’m right handed and cross eye dominate and my right eye is a little blurry.

I'm left eye dominant shooting pistols, I've made efforts to switch but I can't. I also have no issues shooting rifles right handed but I can shoot left without much issues as well.

If I use my right hand I am right eye dominant. If I use my left hand I am left eye dominant. I am ambidextrous though and can wright with both hands. If I use the triangle method with both hands I am right eye dominant.

I tell some new shooters to just close one eye when shooting and not to worry about it. Some of them get bent out of shape being right handed and left eye dominant.

My thought process is to figure out what eye you are dominant in before you ever touch a gun. Once you have that figured out only ever use the corresponding hand. Worked for me.

My point with the previous comment is that hand dominance is really just learned, but eye dominance, Atleast for me, is very much set in stone due to vision imbalance

When I was little and first starting out I could only ever closed my right eye I never seem to be able to close my left up until about twelve I was shooting with my left eye but holding a gun on my right side I must have been a site at the shooting range

What if it moves in both eyes

You means switches between both eyes? One trick is to wear glasses and smear one lens with vasaline or a piece of clear tape. The slightly fuzzier view through it forces your shooting eye to be dominant.
