Great perspective, Joe! I know it's not the same... it's your career - and it's my hobby - but... my training has been going really quite well... and just did my early season IM 70.3 this past weekend and came up a little short. The training didn't exactly transfer to the race. Good swim, tough bike and run. Just felt fatigued out there... couldn't maintain the power I was targeting on the bike, and couldn't hold the pace on the run. Always thankful for the health and fitness to be able to participate (60-64 AG) but a bit frustrating, as well. It's a journey... and always learning. Hang in there... we're cheering for you!

One of the best triathletes out there at the moment, Love the honestly and racing with your heart of your sleeve but when the AG style mistakes stop, you're be beating them all and a very likely Kona winner

Your mindset is really inspiring, Joe. You've been performing with amazing consistency for a very long time, and I'm excited to see how the next race shakes out. You are by far my favorite to watch - always making it fun and willing to grow. I hope to undertake triathlon someday and will continue watching your content for ideas and motivation!

Great attitude man. Everyone has good days and bad days not just in sport. The best thing is no one has died, nothing is broken, you’re healthy, it was just a bad day. The only way you fail is if you give up trying. Keep up the great work champ!

Joey can your next vid be about just your travel approach to Roth, rentals, hotel, food, massage, outings you might do, and your mindset days prior to the event and how you dial yourself in to Dominate in a stacked field!! What is really scary, is magnus Ditlev, you know, barring and injury or sickness, he is going to push the limit on the bike with control and then likely run a faster marathon split then last year!!!

Tip, 2 raw eggs in a cup with a bit of water in the bottom, down it straight before your long workout , you feel the benefit after 2hrs , can easily do 3hrs on this. And obviously do porridge as normal but hit the eggs before you go. Fats protein yeehaaa

My opinion is worth jack, but I think Joe is potentially the fastest legit guy on an increasingly doped start line. The PTO pay cheques have been great for the sport but it's also made the desperate more desperate. I have no data to suggest this, it's just a feeling lately.

Dang Joey, KoolHass schooled you at Challenge 70.3 recently by 6 minutes! Can you afford to be this much behind or is it because your body is primed for Roth? So had you gone double the distance would Koolhass, his ass would have been grass and you are the lawnmower and you would just "cut" it down before 140.6 miles ended? I kid you not Joey, I did not recognize you on the PIC placed by 24/7 Tri news: Where you podiumed 3rd? You are looking too lean! Is this not a detriment for Roth? Watch out and see if you can catch Benny Kanute!! Ben is looking "PRIMED" And Daniel Beckegard is as well looking Primed! Joey, the Miami dolphins were undefeated, the UCLA bruins as well were undefeated, Conner Mcgreggor is currently undefeated, Manchester United went undefeated back in da day, and obviously, Gustav and Kristian are undefeated in short and middle and long distance!!!! GG! Oh, and Jakob Ingerbristin isas well undefeated, and Eluid Kipchogi is as well undefeated, and Ben Felton is undefeaeted! Joey, many peeps are undefeated!!! Even Roger Bannister went undefeated before being first human (he/his/him) to go under 4 min in imperial mile distance! But I gotta give it to you Joey you have been putting in the training and I shit you not, it is inspirational!!! I recommend you see Usain's Bolt UA-cam video "Faster than Lighting" pretty dawg-on inspirational like you!!!! All Da best in ROOOTH!!!! 11 days and a wake up!!! Woohoo!!!

3:10 Gut issues? 😅 Just kidding mate. Don’t be like Sam Long, your self-worth is not decided by your results. I blame the mf signs at IM Texas. How hard is it for them to not make you totally confused? Once I triathlon where the bike course was 3 loops and said to be 90k. Having done 2 laps I had only done 58K so I stopped and asked how we would ride the third lap since I would lack 3k, but apparently the course was 87k.

Look at Mark Allen and how long it took him to win at Kona. Then he won 6 in a row. No one remembers the athletes that did it easy, they remember the ones that struggled through and overcame adversity and obstacles. Keep your focus Joe 👍
