    Guide me, O thou great Redeemer,
    pilgrim through this barren land;
    I am weak, but thou art mighty;
    hold me with thy powerful hand:
    bread of heaven, bread of heaven,
    feed me now and evermore,
    feed me now and evermore.
    2. Open now the crystal fountain,
    whence the healing stream doth flow;
    let the fire and cloudy pillar
    lead me all my journey through:
    strong deliverer, strong deliverer,
    be thou still my strength and shield;
    be thou still my strength and shield.
    3. When I tread the verge of Jordan,
    bid my anxious fears subside;
    death of death, and hell's destruction,
    land me safe on Canaan's side:
    songs of praises, songs of praises,
    I will ever give to thee,
    I will ever give to thee.

      They have chosen to be there to show themselves. Not to honor God. Attending church is not honoring God. God expects much more from His people than singing in a church. Well, I just say what I read in the Word of God.

      I wear a hat every Sunday! An homage to nana, whose training as a milliner was paid for by money hard saved by her mother, so that her daughter would not have to follow her into the cotton mills of Burnley. In my local town I sometimes have to identify myself as "the lady in the hat", and they laugh and say "of course, hello". Sad that hats are worn by some ill-behaved females to race meetings, but considered "excessive" to wear to church.

    Bread of heaven, bread of heaven

    This song makes me kneel down in total worship. The choir amplifies this desire. Can our churches in Nigeria emulate some of these old hymns instead of the noisy eruptions in our churches here which give worshippers headaches.

    1. Guide me, O thou great Redeemer,
    pilgrim through this barren land;
    I am weak, but thou art mighty;
    hold me with thy powerful hand:
    bread of heaven, bread of heaven,
    feed me now and evermore,
    feed me now and evermore.
    2. Open now the crystal fountain,
    whence the healing stream doth flow;
    let the fire and cloudy pillar
    lead me all my journey through:
    strong deliverer, strong deliverer,
    be thou still my strength and shield;
    be thou still my strength and shield.
    3. When I tread the verge of Jordan,
    bid my anxious fears subside;
    death of death, and hell's destruction,
    land me safe on Canaan's side:
    songs of praises, songs of praises,
    I will ever give to thee,
    I will ever give to thee.

    I agree that the British does do church music the best. And I mean not just the choirs but the general public. My parents were Anglican before they became Catholic and I learnt the Anglican hymns from my mother who sang every morning when she was preparing breakfast when we were children.
