God bless the Welsh for giving us such wonderful hymns....."Cwm Rhondda" is glorious. At the funeral of my Welsh love ( who died almost two years ago), we sang this hymn so that his beautiful soul would be lifted to the Father - and Robert's spirt would be carried back to his native Wales ....
So sorry for your loss. I studied nursing in Swansea, South Wales and fell in love with a Welshman too. But this was in the mid 1980's and was still illegal in the UK
Thank you, Mr. Gunther. We both have been blessed by knowing and loving Welshmen. I am grateful for your note here in Colorado Springs, Colorado. With kind regards, Jeanna.

Just one reason why I can never leave the Anglican (Episcopal in my case as am American) Church. The music is just too glorious. The English wrote the greatest hymns/music. And those soaring descants can't be found anywhere else. Proud to be of English heritage.
As a proud Englishman, I would absolutely agree. However, this hymn was written by a Welshman so I'm not sure the English can take that credit for this one!
What a blessing to see leaders from.govermnent, companies, church priests and members of the congregation joined together for church service. British people are blessed because they fear the Lord.
They have chosen to be there to show themselves. Not to honor God. Attending church is not honoring God. God expects much more from His people than singing in a church. Well, I just say what I read in the Word of God.
Attending church is also a part of worship to God. The Bible said that we should not forget the assembling of our selves together as the manner of some is. So we assemble in the house of God. The house of God is a place of refuge the righteousness runneth in it and are safe.

Thanks to Mrs. Gloria Akabom Enebong of blessed memory, I grew up enjoying singing this and other hymns from a pew in the Anglican church in Calabar, Nigeria. May God continue to rest her soul. Amen!
And not too far away was our church complimenting your hymn singing backed by our glorious pipe organ at the Wesley Methodist Cathedral, 39 Beecroft Street, Calabar. As a child, I would be mesmerised by wonderful hymns like this standing there in a full church with the white haired Mrs Hagen or Mr Humphrey Edet or then Mr Eric Esin swaying away on the massive organ. All three have gone to the great beyond now. God bless them all.
Sometimes, you are tempted to think there are no more people in the UK who believes in God or are excited about Christ. But it is impossible for the gates of hell, conspiracies of hell to silence the church. The light of Jesus can never go out anywhere no matter how people backslide.
Even at death and funeral services of my parents this is the song of Halleluyah ...even at mourning mood of our mum ...great Halleluyah to the living God

Jehovah - is not appropriate to the rest of the hymn and therefore not appropriate in any way. I agree with 'Wally Mann'.

ANCIENT OF DAYS, PLEASE GUIDE MY LIFE AND EVERY STEP I TAKE IN LIFE
Lord give me the strenght to praise your name in your Holy Temple in the new Jerusalem. LORD let anyone who comes in my God given destiny be destroyed and let the WORLD know how an un armed broken woman claimed Victory in Christ, let my enemies be put to shame and let your chosen golden angel always always ALWAYS be my side, NOW and forever and forever abd and ever till all eternity .Amen
Christians are blessed out if their socks Our Lord gives us eternal life. Grace Forgiveness and promised to always be with us AND THE MOST BEAUTIFUL music created and sung by his worshippers. Come Lord Jesus Come
My favorite hymn it refreshes my soul

A great and popular hymn. May the Lord continue to feed all Nations till we want no more , continue to be our strength and shield and may we forever sing songs of praises to His Holy name. Thank you
Love my hymns sang in my church choir from a young girl.
Sang these hymns in my Presbyterian Church.
The reharmonization on the last verse is fantastic!
1. Guide me, O thou great Redeemer,
pilgrim through this barren land;
I am weak, but thou art mighty;
hold me with thy powerful hand:
bread of heaven, bread of heaven,
feed me now and evermore,
feed me now and evermore.
2. Open now the crystal fountain,
whence the healing stream doth flow;
let the fire and cloudy pillar
lead me all my journey through:
strong deliverer, strong deliverer,
be thou still my strength and shield;
be thou still my strength and shield.
3. When I tread the verge of Jordan,
bid my anxious fears subside;
death of death, and hell's destruction,
land me safe on Canaan's side:
songs of praises, songs of praises,
I will ever give to thee,
I will ever give to thee.
Yes. Feed me now and evermore. We need Him and His Word especially in such an evil present world now..
Bring back the cross of salvation
Without Christ we're nothing.
Great Song
joanacameron bring it back? Who took it away?
The Christian hymns and the pipe organ music go hand in hand . Like they are like made for other. Never boring even if one hears 1000 times. Thanks.
One of my very favorite hymns.
Wonderful the way the Prince and Princess of Wales smile and react to the choirboys reaching for the top notes of that beautiful descant at 03:08
Always say there is power in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ it is your own tongue it will enters into your heart you will be blessed your own life. Thanks God for the gifts of wisdom I'm sharing with you all
Magnificant momnent ! God Bless the Queen , God Bless the People !
This song makes me kneel down in total worship. The choir amplifies this desire. Can our churches in Nigeria emulate some of these old hymns instead of the noisy eruptions in our churches here which give worshippers headaches.
Gosh this is beautiful. I love the story behind these verses too. May England someday build Jerusalem in her pleasant land.
I am a Batak people from north Sumatera Indonesia. My church is HKBP (lutheran batakness church). Our Priest was a Germanic the name is Nommensen. Some of our hymn as like anglican hymn. So thanks to God, in the name His Son Jesus Christ.
