    Really enjoyed this episode of The Drive podcast! The quarterly summary format is fantastic for catching up on key insights from previous episodes. The discussion on liver health, heart rate variability, AI in medicine, and more was incredibly informative. It's great to hear that listener found the first summary so valuable. Looking forward to more of these recaps

      @@johnfcockrell It is like going to a restaurant and seeing manu item number 14 being a salad, a beef and ice cream for desert. Then they serve you a beef and nothing else, and explain that you should have ordered a menu to get what was actually listed at item number 14. It is totally possible to promote the full episode without making the viewers spend their time waiting for main title content that does not show up.

      @@skykingimagery899 Nobody does this. UA-camrs use hyperbole for C(lick)B(ait), but they actually don't list topics in titles that have nothing to do with the video. People are used to CB, but we don't need titles claiming an analysis of last night's football game, but only talk about scuba diving. Please provide an example of anyone else doing this. But I can understand Dr. Attia doing this since he has so many bogus claims such as we need 2.2 g/kg of protein to live longer, then provide zero scientific evidence for this.

    I liked the liver info. Would be cool if Peter could review current state of the art for every organ system. Also I thought the role of fructose in nafld and metabolic dysfunction was pretty clear at this point?

  • @skykingimagery899

    We are drowning in acronyms. You can't even read medical literature without a glossary. The GGT is the one liver enzyme that can tell the rest of the story. It is almost always omitted unless you ask for it. In the distant past, we performed BSP injections testing for liver function.

    improve liver health with a couple whole blood donations yearly to reduce damage by excess unbound iron...no unproven injections for imaginary particles with insilico genomes please

    How does one seek out a trainer/dietician/doctor who specialize in comprehensive health including metabolic? Does an all in one facility exist? I feel like many doctors associated with hospital networks are in reactive care vs preventive care and life transformations. The only good info I get is from selective UA-camrs like this

    Isn't fatty liver seen by ultrasound? I had stage 1 fatty liver back in 2019 and through exercise/diet changes reverted.

    • @Re3iRtH
      @Re3iRtH Місяць тому +2

      I'm a diagnostic radiologist and we do see macroscopic fatty liver by ultrasound. The very early stages where lipid particles deposit into the hepatocytes i would imagine to be invisible by ultrasound.

      It sure as **** can be seen! In my case, in 2019, I was in a darkened room when the technician scanned by upper right abdomen. I swear that my liver lit up her face a little, literally!! My liver looked like a light bulb when I twisted my head to look up into the console screen. Congrats on reversing your fatty liver. I still have a ways to go, after decades of 'garrulous' eating habits (tons of fructose and junk food) during the previous century. Doctor said it was stage 1, but there was an awful lot of fat. Like you, I made a big change in my diet even though I've been exercising like a serious athlete for many decades. Finally, I seldom drink.
