I think you will find this is only when the collarbone and shoulder are ready to return back to activity with the shoulder. Probably week six without an op or week two with an op
The tape is there only to support and help while the muscle returns to full strength
I doubt surgery has the superior outcome as suggested. Significant amount of evidense out there show that non-surgical treatment of collarbone fracture is the most appropiate. Yes some professionel atlehtes migt benefit from surgery, however most people are not.... If you're young and healthy most will feel a lot better after 2 weeks...

What does this tape accomplish ? Definitely not alignment. Stability of the shoulder, maybe. Any other claim? Im doubtful.

Not much. But your arm may have little limitation in movement. Apart from that it will feel normal after 6 months of fracture with some clicking and popping sounds when moving it sometimes
Is it a joke. Firstly this person collar bone . she is touching the collar bone to put the tape on hard. I have had a broken collar bone and it hurts a lot. And this is nearly impossible

YOU HAVE TO REALLY KNOW HOW TO PUT TAPE ON A BROKEN COLLARBONE CORRECTLY CAUSE YOU CAN MAKE THE ALIGNED BONE MORE OUT OF PLACE YOU CANT RAISE ONE PART OF THE FRACTURE HIGHER THAN THE BROKEN PART UNDERNEATH!!! NOT GOOD TO TAPE A BROKEN COLLARBONE!!!!
Hahahaha yeaaaa the doctor touched my collarbone and said "if I didn't need to see if you need surgery or not, I'd say you don't even need an x-ray, its clearly broken." Needless to say when he touched it, I puked 🤢
