I have had similar troubles with some vintage lego roofs as the old builds often didn’t have support under the slopes and it would be tricky to get them just right
It's supported fairly well inside from what I remember, which makes things a bit tight. it was a pretty easy fix I just forgot to show that in the last clip 😅. It's actually been built since the end of February I just got de-railed from this video for a while
I received and built that set a few weeks back. Those railings are fiddly though I didn’t bother with the down pipes. I’ll replace those railings eventually. I’ve modified mine to be wider to allow space for platforms. I’ll also go back when I have the parts and reinforce the walls up top as they’re barely held in place.
Actually Lego did make a double crossover, set 7996. This is a cheap Ali-Express version that is basically identical, it even shares the same flaw where both sides are on the same throw switch
They are about 13$ on Ali-Express and seem to work just as well. Doubtful Lego will ever make them again, they've been doing less and less for trains in recent years
@@BatteryPoweredBricksyeah, definitely no money for LEGO in their corner of literally the worlds biggest adult hobby - model railroading 🙄 Much better to throw good money after bad on short lived poorly selling themes like Hidden Side and VIDIYO.
That building looks great!! I actually think the black looks really great. I was picturing using black candlestick elements and chain link elements in black for the rail, but I like your solution a lot! I'm equal opportunities for alternative brick building brands. Whoever makes the best stuff gets my money 😂 usually Lego but not always!!
For me I was thinking about the cat knocking pieces off while it was sitting in a layout on the floor for a few days 😅. the candlesticks and chains would have looked cool, I even have a bunch in pearl gold. But alas... the cat 😂. I've been satisfied with the BlueBrixx stuff I've picked up so far and it is for sure stuff that Lego wouldn't make.
That one is a really neat one. You may need to raise it a bit for some trains. One brick extra height should be enough. BlueBrixx also have a smaller switch box building, that fits really well.
@@BatteryPoweredBricks It will not . Unless it's an old Hero Session or Hero 5 Session. Time to invest in the DJI Action 2 .. they've recently brought an update model out with 128GB memory (opposed to 32GB)
I believe that this CHAOS was caused by MARCO, one of the "designers" - no, not a designer, more of an "idea giver"!!!!! He is obsessed with details and pays attention to little things, like stairs where they should be or "functional" chimneys in houses, not just suggested, like in LEGO sets! AND these messy piles of bags with single-type bricks!!!! ;) he used to be a bricklink dealer and always pre-sorted all the parts individually instead of making the bags in build sections. But luckily this is being used more and more in the new sets
Equastian sting unit double track. That is what it is translated from german to english. And also why did you buy FAKE Lego (i Can see that there is no “Lego” label on the studs of the bricks)
It's from the company BlueBrixx. I've bought multiple sets from them, they were recommended by others in my Discord. The hard truth is Lego will probably never make a set like this. We are not their target audience. This set was 80 EUR but would have cost a small fortune to build with Lego parts, but it is possible to do so. If you create an account on their website you can download any instructions for free. Third party companies are getting better with quality over time (at least most of them) and I like the idea of Lego actually having competition, this is always good for the consumer. Otherwise I'm sure Lego would have increased the prices even more than they already have without competition in the space.
Are you dumb or something, bluebrixx is a standalone seller of bricks, such as LEGO is. They make there own designs and produce them as well. I can't get over LEGO Fan boys that think every brick is from LEGO. You wouldn't think the same about car components, "Oh look at the break that the Audi used, these are FAKE breaks because VW used them before Audi did." These are building blocks with a certain clipping technic and not a product that LEGO has the standalone rights on it, please understand for real!
@@BatteryPoweredBricksAgreed. Lego needs the competition. Star Wars sets are what opened the flood gates for Lego to hecome more collector oriented, and entering licensing agreements with 3rd party IPs which inevitably drove up the prices of all sets regardless of theme. The quality of their products has also gone down tremendously, with pieces being more brittle, color inconsistencies, and playability of some sets all while raising prices. Meanwhile competitors have been drastically improving their quality while still maintaining reasonable and affordable prices.
It's not fake Lego. It's Lego compatible building bricks. Ever since the patent expired, it has been free reign. And the company BlueBrixx, that makes this set makes a lot of train related sets, while Lego unfortunately doesn't care about trains anymore. Billund har misset toget ... for over 10 år siden.
I generally don't mix the pieces too much, besides the railings on this particular set. If there were any issues with clutch power I definitely would have mentioned it. I do feel like less than ideal clutch power has been mentioned before in our discord. That's why I stressed my review isn't on BlueBrixx as a whole but simply for this set. Some sets are older or may have pieces from different manufacturers as I do not believe BlueBrixx make their own bricks
@@BatteryPoweredBricks Thanks for the answer. I generally don't mix brands either, but with the prices of Lego pieces and sets these days, I've been considering other brands for getting bulk pieces for larger MOCs.
@@Eidolon1andOnly I mix bricks of all kinds all the time no problems there. As for the original comment: Bluebrixx bricks usually have greater clutch power than Lego. A few single elements like hinges sometimes may not have the proper resistance. In their sets, they feature some daring constructions sometimes - maybe that is where that rumor comes from. However, if you are a MOCer like me, I don't care about that. Bluebrixx offers possibilities to get to parts you would never be able to have otherwise - and in quantities. Simple as that.
I wish LEGO would make more standalone train "accessories" like this, I love the design
For sure. I miss the good old days when Lego made train accessories and I couldn't afford them 😅

Yeah, I do think it looks better with the dark green stuff but man that stuff would get knocked off by the cat so fast 😅
Nice job building the Rollerskate Stankyleg
😂😂😂
It looks like the Bricks On Rails model.
The outside support looks sturdier. But the rest is nearly one for one.
I couldn't find a gantry switch box that looked too similar to this one but man they have some incredible MOCs!

Oh . and roof does take some patience to build. For sure.
I still need to test and see if my GoPro car will go through 🤔 I think most of my rolling stock should roll through no problem

Interesting. It's not that bad for some sets but others require an entire table or more to lay out all of the parts 😬
if i were to build something similar to that then it would need to be taller than a double decker train car
Yeah I know a few folks that said the same thing. It is a bit short for many rail cars / locomotives
You should chat with Bevans Bricks about lighting :)
aye ... they have some awesome lighting pieces.
