I can't imagine that there is anyone, who has at least one eye, who doesn't like this Doug. It is stunning. I was already impressed by the flat coaster, but this bowl is possibly even more beautiful. it’s crazy how good this came out when you consider how often resin does the opposite of what you want it to lol really impressive! those ocean coasters and cutting boards are really popular right now so i bet you could sell a bunch of these! no way the wife lets you sell this one im guessing 😆

Hi Doug I like how you showed how you layered all of the resin that was so cool. I really like the wave look when you pop it out. Love how the wood looks like sand. I like how you coloured the medallion at the bottom to match the bowl. Kind of reminds me of the grand canyon on the inside. The extra resin end piece it kind of looks like whale tales in the ocean.

It's so good to hear you say a project is awesome-looking! You are usually way too hard on yourself. But you're right...this *is* awesome! Just gorgeous. I can practically hear the waves crashing against the shore. Great job. And a really helpful thing I learned from ThePapa1947...to get hot glue off, saturate it with denatured alcohol, wait about 15 seconds, and it comes right up. No need to pry and struggle!

This is up there with the planet one for me buddy. Freakin awesome job. 👌 came out perfect. Too bad you didn't have one of those jigs that you can make like 3 bowls. I guess it scoops it out in sections so you get more than one bowl? I'm not sure how it works, but I bet there would have been even more beautiful bowls inside with the awesome patterns you made. Very cool. Isntbit nice when a plan comes together lol. Hope you're doing well bud, can't wait to see what you do next. I'd do this again but with purple, or any colors like you did with the blue. I bet yellow and golds, or green abd golds would look cool. I wish I could do this or afford the resin lolol. Stay safe my friend
That coring tool is very expensive and not really in my budget at the moment. some one wanted me to try and make Lava, not sure how I would do it but I think that would be cool too, Thanks again for Watching Frankie

Early on in this video with the divets where you didn't want to pour again to fill it in you could've cut it in the middle of the air pocket and made the upper section a lid and used a sea shell 🐚 as a handle 🤔 just suggestions to something that is already very nice

Ok so I've been having this crazy thought/imagine that's looping around my head and I like to make it a suggestion of sorts.
So here goes.
If at all possible, I'd to see someone how could possibly git some way to attain multiple MRI "slide cuts" of the brain (20-30+) , using paint, dies ect and resin (clear mostly) and layering the images on in between each resin pour until you can make see the brain taking form. The key is to make it large enough for this next part.
After you've made it into an oblong sphere . . .
Remount it to a chunk of wood and turn it into a Bowler hat (with wooden brim) .
Just an idea I thought I'd share.

Given that there's no green in it, just browns and blues, you could call it the 'Cambrian Coastline Bowl'! Even so, it is still beautiful and quite dramatic looking.

Question; have you ever used a glove to apply that last coat of clear resin? I've seen those guys that make tabletops do it and I'm wondering if it would work on lathe projects.

I think both pieces are awesome. Makes me wonder what a turned pen would look like, though you'd probably not want to use sand if you're turning it, right? Would be awful on the tools. Excellent job on the waves, both times, even with the unintended transparency.
Thank You Mary, yeah the sand would cause problems, I could do a pen with the bark or even the cut off from the maple burl and make it somewhat look like a shoreline, UGH see how you are now I have to make coastline pens ! LOL
