To be fair, it actually was on the inverse. The original title was Mickey Mouse, but when they translated they change the game sprites and name. The same happened to Elevator Action EX on the GBC: in USA it was reskined and was named Dexter's Laboratory: Robot Rampage.
It's because only Capcom had the rights to publish Disney games in the West so they had to use someone else. Similar thing happened with the Ghostbusters game.
Thanks a lot Sir!! THIS is our childhood! We will never forget this console. It was a dream come true for all the 80s born kids. Most of my 90s were spent touching this console. I appreciate all these moments with these games and will always have a special place in my heart and mind
These are great i started with snes and found a whole ton of old favorites. So i decided to check for others and ended here, thank you so much as a lot of the titles i played were in japanese so i couldn't read them.
Mabe it's just me but I think most of these games look better than most games on the NES. Maybe it's the yellow background color giving them more charm.
I think a couple of the interesting things about some of these are the ones that ended up in 2 regions JP/US or JP/EU but not all 3, or the ones that were exclusive to Europe, since EU might have had an even smaller audience that the other 2 regions would have. There's some that I don't know why they bothered to have it released US/EU, seemed they would only appeal to one side, or ones exclusive to a region could have been appealing to both!
damn all these memories :D the thing is, i bought a "cracked" gameboy game in Czech when i was a kid i remembered all those games, translated very badly in german and now i know : these were japanese translations XD
I’m glad I was picky with the games I asked for as a kid, some of these were awful. Whether it’s game play or the loud noisy sound effects 😬 And oh yeah, never ever play George Foreman’s Boxing 🥊 😂
This is so, so cool. I can't believe you took all this time to show us all 1049 games! I want to personally thank you, as I had forgotten the name of some games and now I can finally play them again.
The battery light not being on gives me mild anxiety XD It would've been rather distracting otherwise but still, I remember playing with bad batteries so goddamn many times.
@@jeromedado7416 No kidding. I even bought a couple rechargeable ones but even the cheap ones used to be sinfully expensive for a kid. And being constantly used and recharged meant they didn't last long.
I'm glad Daisy first appeared on the Game Boy. Too bad about the localization error. What am I talking about? When Daisy first appeared in Super Mario Land, her original design was too Peach-like the localizers didn't realize she was a different character.
@@odeplayBack in the 90s, most people outside of Japan didn't know Daisy was a tomboy. Daisy looked too similar to Peach in her original design, most people didn't know she was a different character. Adding salt to injury, most people were very familiar with Peach during that decade. It was Daisy's striking resemblance to Peach that caused Daisy to suffer an identity crisis for one decade and miss out on major retro video game appearances for the 1990s.
@@jclkaytwo Yep. Western society was too conservative, so everything from Japan had to be restricted out of concerns that video games and cartoons leading children to aggressive or violent behaviors. I've realized that it was the 1983 Video Game Crash and the conservative societal norms that led to the heavy restrictions on video games released on Nintendo consoles by Nintendo of America back in the 80s to early 90s. Back then, adults should not have blamed violence for the censorship, it was the conservative societal norms to blame for heavy restrictions.

Wow this a nostalgia memory lane! There's so many "ahead of its time" games here. Great video and Kudos to you compiling all these games that probably took you 100+ hours.
I'm looking for a video game I didn't find in the complilation. It is a racing game where you can update the parts of the racing car. I don't know the name of the game I've played as a child. Can someone help?
Taz-Mania 1 (EU, 1993) was published as Taz-Mania 2 in the US in 1997, after publishing its sequel in 1994? Stuff that would be impossible nowadays! :)
What’s the name of the game where you are in the city on the first level and the enemies are just silhouettes and then after that you’re a guy with a knife going through woods and desert levels? Some of the levels involve riding a river in a canoe avoiding logs
Woah, so high quality with lots of info and box art, and the right colors. Might just watch the whole thing in one sitting lol. My only thing is that it would be so cool if one of these channels did it chronologically
@@vintagebluenote8564 Maybe .... cannot find Mcdonaldand in alphabetical order. But i'm sure in 2:22:41, the name is cool spot for EU version like in US/JAP. Got the game for Christmas '93
Im not a original gameboy fan but i thought i might aswell still say that i appreciate and congratulate you on another completed job well done. :) Any chance PS2 will come back?
Race Days (1994) is technically a compilation game of Dirty Racing (JPN exclusive) and Jeep Jamboree: Off Road Adventure (NA exclusive). Not sure if it should be included as its own game. Thoughts?
back in the day i thought that the Gameboy was cool, but boy was it heavy and that puke green look never flew with me, and i can say is "thank god for Color" cause yikes...
46:43 I worked at the company that made this, I joined just after it was released. It sold quite well for a GB that didn't have a License. We started a SNES version but it didn't materialize.

USA: Bugs Bunny
Europe: Bugs Bunny
Japan: *MICKY MOUSE*
it was a reskin like many other games (Garfield e.g)
LOL! Bugs disliked it.
Similar thing happened with the Ghostbusters game.
this game has nothing to do with mickey mouse, but i found this title very funny in japan. 😂😂😂😂😂😁😁😁😁.
Thanks a lot Sir!! THIS is our childhood! We will never forget this console. It was a dream come true for all the 80s born kids. Most of my 90s were spent touching this console. I appreciate all these moments with these games and will always have a special place in my heart and mind
The GAME BOY was really awesome for its time. It has unique masterpieces for the era. Thumbs up if you agree.
Helped me find a game from my childhood that I failed to describe to my more retro-fluent friends. Thanks a lot for making this!
1:27:13 That's some genuinely impressive Game Boy music there that sounds almost identical to the NES version.

Timepoints (from 0-Z) of the Nintendo GAME BOY. Keep in mind I didn't grow up with the original Game Boy, rather the later Game Boy entries (Color, Advance, and SP, but sadly not micro) After 2005, Game Boy was declared dead in favor of the DS. IN 2017 the DS is now considered dead and replaced by the Nintendo Switch. Anyway, your welcome.

These are great i started with snes and found a whole ton of old favorites. So i decided to check for others and ended here, thank you so much as a lot of the titles i played were in japanese so i couldn't read them.
Will you ever make a US only version of the Game Boy list? Amazing work all around, by the way.

Mabe it's just me but I think most of these games look better than most games on the NES. Maybe it's the yellow background color giving them more charm.
Thank you. This is really helpful. I found my childhood game by this. Dragon Slayer.
I think a couple of the interesting things about some of these are the ones that ended up in 2 regions JP/US or JP/EU but not all 3, or the ones that were exclusive to Europe, since EU might have had an even smaller audience that the other 2 regions would have. There's some that I don't know why they bothered to have it released US/EU, seemed they would only appeal to one side, or ones exclusive to a region could have been appealing to both!
thanks, I was trying to find 2:41:45 and finally got it near the end of your video
Crazy work! Congrats!
You are a legend.
Bonk's Revenge is my top 1 gameboy game
It's really too bad that they did not make any gameboy games that start with the letter "s."

I’m glad I was picky with the games I asked for as a kid, some of these were awful. Whether it’s game play or the loud noisy sound effects 😬 And oh yeah, never ever play George Foreman’s Boxing 🥊 😂
The Game Boy's battery is off 😁
So many of these games only existed in my head as still images in GamePro and EGM magazine. It just feels right finally seeing them in motion.
I'm really enjoying retro gaming. The simple games are the best.
This is so, so cool. I can't believe you took all this time to show us all 1049 games!
I want to personally thank you, as I had forgotten the name of some games and now I can finally play them again.
The thumbnail made me want to see Kirby in a Gameboy suit. That would be AMAZING.
This is service to society Sir. Thank you!!
I cant find a GB game were is like a dinosaur with a pole and he do holes to defend from enemys

4-bit... dorifuto?!
The battery light not being on gives me mild anxiety XD It would've been rather distracting otherwise but still, I remember playing with bad batteries so goddamn many times.
Yeah the batteries never lasted long on a game boy. So many fond memories from that time period.
The AAA batteries are best selling items back in the day aside of Gameboy lmfao
@@jeromedado7416 No kidding. I even bought a couple rechargeable ones but even the cheap ones used to be sinfully expensive for a kid. And being constantly used and recharged meant they didn't last long.
There was a Japanese exclusive called Scotland Yard lol
2:27:22 This was literally the very first videogame I have ever played. Glad to see Super Mario Land again. It was a fun game.
I'm glad Daisy first appeared on the Game Boy. Too bad about the localization error. What am I talking about? When Daisy first appeared in Super Mario Land, her original design was too Peach-like the localizers didn't realize she was a different character.
same here, this is the free game when purchasing a gb
@@odeplayBack in the 90s, most people outside of Japan didn't know Daisy was a tomboy. Daisy looked too similar to Peach in her original design, most people didn't know she was a different character. Adding salt to injury, most people were very familiar with Peach during that decade. It was Daisy's striking resemblance to Peach that caused Daisy to suffer an identity crisis for one decade and miss out on major retro video game appearances for the 1990s.
@@GardevoirBoythat's some real yapping right there
@@jclkaytwo Yep.
This video should get an Academy award for best picture. And not the random Hollywood BS

Wow this a nostalgia memory lane! There's so many "ahead of its time" games here. Great video and Kudos to you compiling all these games that probably took you 100+ hours.
Ahead of its time would describe the Lynx. GB was very much of the period.
You deserve an oscar bro
I'm looking for a video game I didn't find in the complilation. It is a racing game where you can update the parts of the racing car. I don't know the name of the game I've played as a child. Can someone help?
So many good memories, the Game Boy was the coolest thing to have as a kid or teen while growing up through the 90s!
I wish America got more top down view story based games all we got were shooters and puzzle games
Taz-Mania 1 (EU, 1993) was published as Taz-Mania 2 in the US in 1997, after publishing its sequel in 1994? Stuff that would be impossible nowadays! :)
I fell asleep and this video was in my "Watch Later" queue. Spent the whole night dreaming of smashing some Tiger LCD toy that just wouldn't break!
At last!!!!! Thank you so much! Amazing work! Now i can search the rest of the games i need to complete my collection!!!
Wow... why was Japan such an absolute powerhouse in regards to gaming? Both as consumers and producers.
cause like everything they do, they hold themselves to a standard, and to not meet that standard would be shame on them.
The powers in charge want them distracted and weak. See WW2.
A decent economy will do that for you.
What’s the name of the game where you are in the city on the first level and the enemies are just silhouettes and then after that you’re a guy with a knife going through woods and desert levels? Some of the levels involve riding a river in a canoe avoiding logs
If NESmania was a thing, what about a GBMania?
Wonderful!!!!
thank you for this video.. i collect all games here in gameboy that i love...
Woah, so high quality with lots of info and box art, and the right colors. Might just watch the whole thing in one sitting lol. My only thing is that it would be so cool if one of these channels did it chronologically
1:13:22 AhA!!! I've finally found it! Thanks for this! I've been looking for the name of this game for 2 decades!
14:43 - sound you make when your gf leaves you
mystake at 2:22:41. Mcdonaldand is written for EU version. It's not the same game
So are in total 1050?! To be onest I counted in this video 1048🧐
@@vintagebluenote8564 Maybe .... cannot find Mcdonaldand in alphabetical order. But i'm sure in 2:22:41, the name is cool spot for EU version like in US/JAP. Got the game for Christmas '93
Remember playing a hack of that game at 30:10 but it was Mario land 4 lol.
Im not a original gameboy fan but i thought i might aswell still say that i appreciate and congratulate you on another completed job well done. :)
Any chance PS2 will come back?
18:07 lol
Amazing videos! Thank you for your amazing work!
So many memories, thanks a lot for this !!
2:52:35 the best...
Wow i like this kind of videos. Thank you for making this kind of stuff. I hope you make all the games ever made from every console. Goodluck!
lol Darkwing Duck was released on GB :O ?
Now we just need The Game Boy Project rom set!
1:47:53 😢🧡

Really appreciate for your work! I have found many lost memories here!
Thank you this video is great
i never had a game boy.. I had a friend in kindergarten who had, i played w that sometimes... was a fun handheld w fun games :33
Didn't think we would make it to the end the battery light has been almost dead the entire time lol
Sheer creativity created for this platform is *INCREDIBLE!!*
Better get yourself a emulator which can play all these games..
The best way to make your perfect collection, sit calm down and pay atention for 3 hours xD
Your videos are helping me decide what games I wanna get in my collections
e.g. Bionic Commando - great game, and it is very underrated
Woah
2:45:02
Huh? A Wario/Bomberman crossover?! Now THAT'S random! lol
Would be nice if you made the Gameboy light blink near the end like its running out of battery. Nice list.
That's incredible, and I applaud your dedication.
thanks thanks so much
after month of searching I found my childhood game I'm soooo happy
