So my most unbelievable Metal Gear experience is an obscure one that most of you probably never heard of. I was playing Snake Eater and was at the part of the plot where you get captured and thrown into that jail cell. Well I saved it at that part and didn't play for a couple of days. And when I turned the game back on a few days later, I was playing a completely different game. I was some sort of demon-hunter and was killing waves of vampires and demons in a hack and slash game. I was SOO confused; almost to the point of turning the game off and ejecting the disc to make sure I was playing Snake Eater. And this mini-game went on for like a full 10-15 minutes and it was fairly high quality. But after that 15 minutes or so, Snake wakes up and it turns out I was playing in Snake's nightmares. Seriously a WTF moment. Unbelievable. What makes it more unbelievable is that fact that this part is not well-known at all. Good job, Kojima lol.
You forgot near the end of Metal Gear Solid 2, where the colonel rings you and tells you you've been playing the game too much and to forget about it and turn it off... I was playing for 3 hours straight. I thought I finally lost my marbles
Sam Ahad When Campbell calls during that sequence and starts talking about his alien abduction experience, I had been playing for 7 hours and it was 1am...and I scared myself half to death from that part. I was looking out the windows expecting aliens to be outside.
chattingbout Think about It when you line up for MGSV: TPP at midnight launch talk to the people In the queue and get them to join the MGS fan club on fb and ask for their PSN n that :)
I also loved that moment in MGS1 when you are in the elevator and you have to fight those 4 guys wearing the stealth camo. Otacon's voice on the Codec was just sooo memorable: _"Snake! They're in there with you!"_
I loved the corridor section in MGS 4. It was a fantastic culmination of all your struggles throughout the game ending in a segment which asked so much, physically, out of you as it did snake as well. Seeing everyone you had grown to love as the series went by on the upper part of the screen in their respective struggles was great.
If that was your fisrt game and you loved it like how emotional otocon gets when his sister goes off in the room and snake has to calm him down lol imagine how i feel and i played metal gear one........? Lol
Bow&Arrow games I was about to ask what the hell you were talking about and then I remembered he did have a sister. I haven't played mgs2 in like 12yrs.
As a die hard MGS fan and collector (got all games and special versions, except Metal Gear NES 2 - Solid Snake) I find all moments special, can't name anything wrong with any of them. But some famous moments next to the ones you already mentioned: - When Meryl gets shot by sniper wolf and you have to rescue her. - Learning that the DAPRA chief Donald Anderson was actually Decoy Octopus. - Having a codec conversation with Hall in a closed elevator and he shouts "Look out Snake, they are in their with you!" and having to battle soldiers with stealth camouflage. - Taking out a tank controlled by Vulcan Raven only with grenades. - Witnessing the death of Grey Fox/Frank Jaeger by Liquid Snake and Metal Gear Rex. - Thinking SoKoLoV (my nickname by the way) dead in MGS3 after the torture by Volgin. - Seeing Big Boss die in the graveyard with Snake by his side. - And lastly the most heartbraking moment for me, watching the wedding cutscene of Meryl and Johnny and hearing Mei Ling ask Hall where Snake is. And hearing that he "Always keeps you waiting". The moment I thought Snake had died or soon would die, I cried, a lot, won't deny it. Snake and MGS mean a lot to me, grew up with it, so I lost a lot in that moment.
Michael Biland Not sure yet, knowing Hideo Kojima it will be something really weird, difficult to understand but nonetheless a very special and beautiful game. In any case, I need more information to know if it will be my kind of game, but I think it will be.
When Quiet shot down that fighter jet, with one shot, dead center in the helmet of the pilot, WHILE the plane was firing missiles on the move....Amazing.
Victor ABP well, how about saying something like "why isn't it in the top 9" instead of saying it as if they didn't even mention it? But hey, nice going with the insulting, real mature
Avenged84 Said the guy who tried to make a fool out of another person by being a hypocrite, then proceeded to call me immature when you're the one whinning cause you got caught on your own stupidity. Oh yeah, and your mature username is ''Avenged84''. I really hope you weren't born in 1984 cause thats gonna be really, really sad.
That Psycho Mantis fight was amazing though... Having to move the 1st player controller to the 2nd player port was crazy the first time I played this game... Still one of my top memories for the original mgs series
Did anybody try switching out control ports in mgs 4 against screaming mantis because of the psycho mantis boss fight in mgs 1? I laughed at what snake said.
Basically he starts freaking out because of his sudden paralysis. He yells to Otacon for help saying 'I CAN'T MOVE!' at which point Otacon tells the player off by saying it wouldn't work this time and to switch back. I laughed because I was shocked the devs thought that far ahead.
I love when Rob talks about Metal Gear not because I like it or even understand what is going on, but because he gets so excited and it is genuinely the sweetest thing. He is so passionate about that game and it is wonderful!
The most unbelievable moment in Metal Gear was in Metal Gear Solid 4 when you return to Shadow Moses and The Best Is Yet To Come plays... The Music. The Nostalgia. The Feels :')
The dream sequence in MGS4 when you play the first level of MGS with PS1 graphics and all. In fact, the entire Shadow Moses episode of MGS4 was nostalgia heaven.
Loved when Snake calls! And the Microwave scene! It made feel like I was about to have a panic attack! No joke! Love Metal Gear! RIP John,Dave, and Eva!
My biggest WTF moment in the Metal Gear series? Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain. Where you're being chased by a child Psycho Mantis controlled FLAMING VOLGIN THAT SINGLE HANDEDLY TELLS CIPHER TO PISS OFF AND RIDES A FLAMING WINGED UNICORN, after being put in a coma for nine years, lost your arm, and have chunks of steel and bones embedded all over your body. And then there was the flaming whale and the helicopter scene and then again when Revolver Ocelot saved Snake by riding in on a horse that is over a decade old now, was last seen in Metal Gear Solid III, and really punches you in the feels.
+V Lighthart (Mama Bear) As cool as that entire sequence was, not only does another one like it never happen for the rest of the game, but a later mission (which is almost the same mission, in Phantom Pain fashion) completely blows your mind.
stephen williams It doesn't always work, though. Sometimes The End will have dragged you back to the prison in the intervening period, and you've got to fight him all over again.
The most unbeliveable thing I ever saw in MGS when "other" names appeared on the staffroll. You know, names that started not with "Hideo" and ended not with "Kojima"...
MAY I LIKE THIS VIDEO AN INFINITE AMOUNT OF TIMES!!!???? THIS IS THE BEST VIDEO EVER MADE, THANK YOU ROB FOR BEING SUCH A BIG MGS FAN LIKE MYSELF. THANK YOU FOR NOT EVEN CARING ABOUT HOW MANY TIMES YOU MENTION METAL GEAR!!!! YOU'RE SO AWESOME! MG FOR LIFE!!!! DON'T STOP THE MGS REFERENCES NEITHER!!
I always found the idea of Liquid living on through the arm that got grafted to Ocelot to be one of the most ridiculously awesome things in MGS! The fact that Kojima could write that in, keep it as a plot point for so long and then still make the final showdown in MGS IV so great is testament to his writing! He will be missed after MGS V. I won't look at any other "Metal Gear" game the same way...
Well.. It was kind of explained that Ocelot kinda lied in that regard. He explained that he did it all to get under the patriots skin. And in turn to get rid of them.
#3 for me too, Rob. What makes this such a special memory for me was the fact that my best friends and I made the pilgrimage to our first E3 show in 2000. Words can't really do justice to the stunned silence of hundreds of fans having their minds blown in unison. Exchanging glances with one another with each reveal. By the end of that trailer we were whipped into a frenzy that gives me goose bumps to this day. Second only to the thrill of having made it to the show as a vendor debuting a game demo we had literally bled to produce was sharing this magical moment with my best friends. Keep up the awesome work, Rob.
For me my top one was a mission with Big Boss and Kaz bringing along a peculiar Pink Box in MGS Peace Walker. I thought I would try it once since it worked with Paz.... I am still traumatized that I can't touch my PSP anymore.
This is by far my favorite "Top (insert number) video list" of all time. I laughed entirely too hard at " I almost cried, then the horse cried, and I did cry" so true... Also, Delsin is adorable.
1a. The impression of solid snake... WAS EPIC. [6:09] 1b. THAT long climb up... yes the towers... and oh hell yeah the hind-d, but why nobody remembers or mentions the background music when you attempt to fight that damn thing!!. 2. The epic fight between Old Snake and Liquid Ocelot... *priceless.* [8:20] 3. The Boss fight... yes I almost cried, or I think I did. [9:49] 4. The screen when it went [HIDEO] (Replacing VIDEO like it was a TV) IT ALMOST FOOLED ME BACK THEN xDD. [10:18] Yes, the Metal Gear Games were always epic, but nothing beats good old Metal Gear Solid for PS1. Great video man!
That torture scene in MGS peacewalker made my thumb crack 5 times in less than a minute, now it occasionally locks into place and I have to pop it back out in the most painful cracking of any finger ever. Thanks a lot Hideo
I did a slow clap and started cheering when I saw the title of this week's episode. And I'm alone right now. I was so excited, that even though I was watching on my PS4, I actually pulled up the video on my laptop in order to leave this comment before I even finished the video. Bravo kind sir. bravo.
That guy who did the Solid Snake impersonation--I remember him from when he was the host during one of the gaming conventions. It's nice to see him make a return!
One of my favorite details is in MGS4 when fighting mantis. If you try and change your controller to slot 2 the Colonel will call you and say “That’s not going to work this time, Snake.”
I never played Metal Gear Solid before and now I want to. If I play Ground Zeroes before Phantom Pain will I be good to go? I really don't want to play the other four.
ThatGuy15 well... it's kind of hard to answer. in terms of just understanding the very basic story ground zeroes won't be enough. you would have to at least start with mgs peace walker. I'd recomment you to go one step further tho and start with mgs 3, then peace walker, then ground zeroes and finally phantom pain. you can just watch the movie versions on youtube if you don't feel like playing them. however!!! if you really want to get into the metal gear saga (or any other saga for that matter) you should follow one simple rule. always go in order of release! a very important factor in story telling is the transfer of information. what kind and amount of information does the player have about the story at what specific time of the game. if you mess up the order you play through the games you also mess with the order the information about the story is transfered over to you which can basically spoil the whole fun. like watching star wars ep. 1-3 and then ep. 4-6 instead of the original order.
ThatGuy15 If you don't have time to play the whole series, you could always play chronologically, meaning playing Metal Gear Solid 3, then Portable Ops, then Peace Walker, then Ground Zeroes, then finally Phantom Pain. The good thing is that Kojima wrote these stories in such a way that even if you played chronologically, there will still be quite a few plot twists that will surprise you that may not surprise someone who's played it in order of release, and vice versa.
How could you miss out that memorable and outrageous moment in MGS1 where you have to change the shape of the PAL Card by visiting the areas of different temperature?!? It was such a pain having to go up and down the cargo elevator, constant fears of getting caught and all that running around but it was also very much in keeping with the rest of the game: Go all the way back to floor B1 and get the sniper rifle The torture chamber was where the DARPA Chief (Decoy Octopus) was!? Oh if you want the thermal goggles they're back in the tank hangar And imagine not seeing the rope item box after getting all the way to the top of the Comm Tower, plus the ridiculous multitude of gun cameras in the stairwell of the second Comm Tower. Who needs five gun cameras next to one another!? MGS is incredible :)
MGS 1 might be too dated to start on though, 3 is the chronological predecessor I think, and the most acclaimed in the series from what I've heard, so *maybe* start with 3. I started on 2 though, and went back to play 1 then 3 and 4.
The Chaos MGS, MGS2, MGS3, MGS4, MGS: Peace Walker, MGSV. Release order. The gameplay develops throughout each game and it's a pain to start on a newer one then go back. You also miss out of a lot of subtleties if you do it in non-release order, and you really have to play 1 to understand 2.
I'd say you really should try and play MGS1, people always say it's aged really badly, but apart from maybe the comms tower section I disagree. It's my favourite in the series next to Snake Eater and one of my favourite games in general. After you get used to how it works it becomes fantastic.
His use of the forth wall is genius and actually becomes an integral part of the story rather than just a gimmick. For example the dog tags at the end of MGS2 and Raiden discarding them.
My most unforgettable moment would be snakes return to Shadow Moses Island in MGS4. Walking through the snow storm and not being able to see a thing and then making your down a path and suddenly seeing the snow storm disappear to reveal the place were it all began recreated in full with next gen graphics! The subtle nods to the history of the island and flashbacks to moments in the original game just made that my most OMG moment.
My personal favourite MGS moment is from MGS1, when Gray Fox takes on Metal Gear Rex. Earlier it was revealed that Naomi had tried to kill Snake with FoxDie because he killed Gray Fox, who adopted her as a child because her parents were killed. In that cutscene where Gray Fox is about to die, he reveals that he killed Naomi's parents and took her in out of guilt. That will always be my all time fav gaming moment.
Another hilarious and unique video. I look forward to them each week. I was quite surprised by Delsin's reaction to Rob's educating though, he nearly had Rob's eye out. Thank goodness for those spectacles. See you next Friday gang. 👍
Let me give you ideas 5 most creepy side boss in skyrim 10 most explicit character in game 10 game that fucked us(stuck somewhere.cant complete and never play again) 10 best boss in metal gear solid 10 longest boss battle 10 most butten mashing moment in game 10 most epic cinemeatic in game. want more? i could give you more
most games were solid 60 fps until the 7th generation of consoles :P 30fps only really became a thing recently because hardware isn't good enough for the games, or the games aren't optimised enough.
One of my most unbelievable moments in Metal Gear is when Snake's ageing process increased and made him old. That might be just me but I had no I idea what to think when I saw that
If you hit the R1 button in the cutscene before you get locked up, you can see the sorrow holding a sign with a codex number on it.. Type that bad boy in and the door unlocks lol
My most unbelievable moment... Is the Microwave scene in MGS 4 where you have to MASH the TRIANGLE button to get to the door... I haven't gotten there yet...
Mine is when in MGS4-Act4, you're taken back to Shadow Moses Island in the original MGS1 graphics ! And then you're in MGS4 mode again ! And after infiltrating the helipad, you listen to the song "The Best is Yet to Come"; dear God, I remembered that tune as I typed this and it gave me shivers !
the shift was because it was hard for kojima productions to develop the game because of the change in gameplay. they are still the ones who produced it; they just allowed changes so platinum games wouldn't feel any creative restrictions in the game. It still is part of the original metal gear timeline.
The End and Psycho Mantis. Two of the best boss battles in the Metal Gear Solid series that could be easily dumbed down by one of the most overpowered item in the MGS series: Thermal Googles XD Great video by the way :D
Psycho Mantis is such a legendary opponent and he just had to be no.1 but for me the best battles in the game were against Sniper Wolf. I really took my time with them. Finding a spot where she couldn't see me if I didn't see her and waiting for ages for her to show up in the exact spot where I wanted so I could take a shot. Amazing!
The fact that you haven't got the moment you go back to Shadow Moses in MGS 4 baffles me. The scene and music The Best is Yet to Come gave me goosebumps and is an iconic moment in the series.
Two things to say about this video: 1. I remember when I fought Psycho Mantis for the first time. I only managed to land a punch or two before he killed me. Switching the controller port on a later attempt did absolutely nothing. Campbell told me what to do, and it was only then that I brought him to his knees by punching him in the face and sending him flying over a desk. The boss fight was so interesting I decided that I would not save the game after the fight until my sister had seen me defeat him. 2. Ah, yes. The torture scene of MGS1. Mei Ling had warned me to save before moving on, but I wouldn't listen. Ocelot himself even took note of this and said, "You haven't saved in a long time." Then it began. I knew what to do. As soon as it started, I mashed the circle button as hard as I could. Snake's health bar didn't recover. Knowing what I had to lose, a friend rips the controller out of my hands, does the exact same thing, and has the exact same result. We managed to survive the first round, but we lost on the second. That was a disappointment. I was really looking forward to the prison section, so I could break out all the different ways. Oh, and because I died, I now have to start from my last save which was the corridor outside the Commander's Room.
I still think the entire Arsenal Gear sequence at the end of MGS2 is the most unbelievable thing the series has done, especially once you consider the wealth of subtext.
So my most unbelievable Metal Gear experience is an obscure one that most of you probably never heard of. I was playing Snake Eater and was at the part of the plot where you get captured and thrown into that jail cell. Well I saved it at that part and didn't play for a couple of days. That's MGS for crazy unique and not like any other game.
+Robert McReynolds I've never heard of that. I gotta check that out. That's crazy cool.
+Robert McReynolds The same thing happened to me. I was pretty scared by it.
Wow That is quite insane Damn Hideo Kojima is a true genius!!
this happened, because if you codec para-medic she will going to talk about dracula movie, and that is why you have that nightmare
"how'd you get this number?"
"found it on the back of a CD case"
aaah, funny.
You forgot near the end of Metal Gear Solid 2, where the colonel rings you and tells you you've been playing the game too much and to forget about it and turn it off...
I was playing for 3 hours straight. I thought I finally lost my marbles
Sam Ahad At this moment i was playing at 12 pm...
Sam Ahad or I Need scissor 61
I was doing a run right after I beat it the first time bcuz I was unhappy with my rank, I felt as if he was giving some real solid advice.
Sam Ahad When Campbell calls during that sequence and starts talking about his alien abduction experience, I had been playing for 7 hours and it was 1am...and I scared myself half to death from that part. I was looking out the windows expecting aliens to be outside.
Kujakuseki01 You too? I've played this sequence at the same time as you haha.
I somehow get the feeling, Rob likes Metal Gear.
you think so... I didn't notice yet.
Yeah seriously, never noticed
Conor Mc Colgan see nobody noticed. what are you talking about akawhut
victor sels haha, Ikr, what what
akawhut Hehe, your comment has 69 likes.

FISSION MAILED
Freaked out when that appeared on screen.
I think you should turn off your console. You’ve been playing for a while
Lmaooooooo idk why this was so funny
remember when otacon asked snake to insert disk 2 in MGS4. I was like oh what?! noooo!
Ramteen Oh the funniest troll of all time.. ''Insert disc 2'' ''Oh wait this is a playstation!''
SCWIC doesnt he say this is a ps3, we have bluray now?
Auron710 he does, and he follows it by "I wonder what's coming next!" something like that :)
A metal gear remastered collection on ps4 would be so good
James Sharkey ُEwww, PS4.... :/
LanternBox what's wrong with the ps4? Do you even own one?
Ace Assassin PS3>PS4
To many remasters. Where are the good games for PS4. PS3 didn't start like this. PS3 came out with loads of fun mayhem and prizes!
James Sharkey There's already a legacy collection. I don't think it'd be a good move.
I loved the corridor section in MGS 4. It was a fantastic culmination of all your struggles throughout the game ending in a segment which asked so much, physically, out of you as it did snake as well. Seeing everyone you had grown to love as the series went by on the upper part of the screen in their respective struggles was great.
I finished just finished Metal Gear Solid: Sons of liberty, my first Metal Gear Solid, and I have to say, I loved it.
Ban Hammer That's where i started aswell... MGS is a hell of a gateway drug!
MGS2 was my first as well 12 years ago and i been hooked on MGS since
If that was your fisrt game and you loved it like how emotional otocon gets when his sister goes off in the room and snake has to calm him down lol imagine how i feel and i played metal gear one........? Lol
Bow&Arrow games I just sat in a ball and cried. Then I was happy because I got to use a sword.
Bow&Arrow games I was about to ask what the hell you were talking about and then I remembered he did have a sister. I haven't played mgs2 in like 12yrs.
I remember the first time I got to the MGS torture scene, I thought "oh he stopped talking, can I open my codec-"
*Snake gives up instantly*
First time I got there I thought I could use auto-fire. I was mistaken.
The Jam Man But he tells "don't even think about using auto-fire or I'll know".
The Jam Man I always heard that was a bluff.
I'm like Rob. I am addicted to Metal Gear Solid.
Same here bro.
we both r addicted to metal geae
we both r addicted to metal gear
I did too until MGSV came along.
Matthew Foot why does everyone hate on mgsv. I think its a fun and beautifull game.
As a die hard MGS fan and collector (got all games and special versions, except Metal Gear NES 2 - Solid Snake) I find all moments special, can't name anything wrong with any of them. But some famous moments next to the ones you already mentioned:

Are you talking about Otacon? Because his name is Hal.
What do you think of Death Stranding?
Michael Biland Not sure yet, knowing Hideo Kojima it will be something really weird, difficult to understand but nonetheless a very special and beautiful game. In any case, I need more information to know if it will be my kind of game, but I think it will be.
***** Awesome! I'm probably gonna eventually buy it. But on PS4, not on PC.
I'm also a huge fan of this amazing franchise. What did you think of The Phantom Pain ? i stopped playing after 10 hours !
When Quiet shot down that fighter jet, with one shot, dead center in the helmet of the pilot, WHILE the plane was firing missiles on the move....Amazing.
Shawnee Longbow
yeah!! that was amazing!!
metal gear is way underrated, it needs to be known as the best game ever
most unbelievable moment is when konami fired kojima
How about when big boss shows up at the end of mgs4??? i almost exploded when it happened
+Victor ABP how about you actually watch the video?
+Avenged84 Lol you should take your own advice.
Victor ABP
well, how about saying something like "why isn't it in the top 9" instead of saying it as if they didn't even mention it? But hey, nice going with the insulting, real mature
Victor ABP
that's cute, I'm done here. Got nothing to say to childish people
Avenged84 Said the guy who tried to make a fool out of another person by being a hypocrite, then proceeded to call me immature when you're the one whinning cause you got caught on your own stupidity. Oh yeah, and your mature username is ''Avenged84''. I really hope you weren't born in 1984 cause thats gonna be really, really sad.
Yeah that was surprising, hearing Raiden talking to Uncle Max from Ben 10.
+Shiirow That's what I thought.
same
+Shiirow
More like Master Shiunsai from Tenchu 2 :)
My most unbelievable metal gear moment? Probably when I bought ground zeros for $40 expecting more than one level.
+Connor Tremblay You paid 40$ I got if for free
+Superjoshman Eh eh, me too. Didn't buy it immediately because I watched reviews and knew how short it was... there's this thing called the intraweb.
There was like 6 levels you pleb
agreed, also I paid $60 for mine
+Connor Tremblay I got mine on PS+
That Psycho Mantis fight was amazing though... Having to move the 1st player controller to the 2nd player port was crazy the first time I played this game... Still one of my top memories for the original mgs series
there's one when you stay in the rain for quite some time, you'll catch a cold and sneeze > alerting guards. That was unexpected.
that ladder wasn't ridiculous! that was ART!!!
Yeah the art of believing in the God Kojima. I feel it too.
Rubén Pérez can you feel the touch??
Pluruo Yeah... It is weird... I suddenly want to build a church...
don't know about you guys but...
I'm still in a dream.

the list Rob's been waiting his whole life to make
The most unbelievable moment in Metal Gear was in Metal Gear Solid 4 when you return to Shadow Moses and The Best Is Yet To Come plays... The Music. The Nostalgia. The Feels :')
Honestly, that was a great snake impersonation during the codex call
The dream sequence in MGS4 when you play the first level of MGS with PS1 graphics and all. In fact, the entire Shadow Moses episode of MGS4 was nostalgia heaven.
returning to shadow moses in mgs 4
sergio daniel ramirez de la rosa 4 has so many great moments. That one is definitely up there
KRob811 yeah that one is special

+TheDeadlyPianist well, not completely. it blew a little bit. it was more like a whiff.
+V Lighthart (Mama Bear) The horse was in Peace Walker.
I didn't know that.
I last saw it in 3.
Okay. :-)
Amazing episode! Generally one of my favorite UA-cam channels, you lads are doing a great job, keep it up!
Microwave corridor man! Best part about MGS4
Wait is that true about the end I can just come back in two weeks and he'll die?
Yeah its true. I never tried it myself though
stephen williams or set your system clock forward two weeks. Be careful, though, Your food will spoil.
stephen williams It's just one week, but yes. Or you kill him hours before the actual battle.
I did it and was super confused
stephen williams It doesn't always work, though. Sometimes The End will have dragged you back to the prison in the intervening period, and you've got to fight him all over again.
"Where'd you find this number?", "Found it on an old CD cover." AAAHHAHAHAA am i the only one who got that?
Sai Tippana Hell no.
140.15 Meryl.
Sai Tippana Every Metal Gear fan got this... or at least SHOULD get this.
PunchAkainu í
Sai Tippana Although I wasn't part of that generation, I gotcha. I wonder if Johnny Diarrhea will be in TPP...
The list we've all been waiting for.
I only playEd the demo for peace walker and lost my PSP before I could get the full game, what happened?
+lewis clark You don't want to know bro.....
+SumRandomRPGPlayer did kaz really get in the box ? O_o
Nemesisforce2 Unfortunately It is an answer that I am forbidden to answer. Google at your own risk my good sir.....
This is by far my favorite "Top (insert number) video list" of all time. I laughed entirely too hard at " I almost cried, then the horse cried, and I did cry" so true... Also, Delsin is adorable.
Um, Peace Walkers torture scene was hella lot harder than mgs 1s.
Jeo Trillio definitely on the PSP but kinda the same on ps3
I think we can all agree that this list was inevitable. But when can we have a full Assassin's Creed list?
I'll give you 2 for the AC list.
1. I was amazed how awesome and big AC4 was
2.I couldn't beliveve how shitti AC unity was
Never because we'd have to completely ignore AC 4 and AC Unity.
Rementhus Inevitable MGS earned this list AC didn't at ALL.
***** AC 3 was also the last one that was good and the last true AC. It's not AC anymore.
Rementhus When they make a new one that isn't trash
Came for the nostalgia, stayed for the puppet!
If you haven't saved often, Psycho Mantis basically says you're an overconfident fool.
I wonder if he has one for if you've NEVER saved?
Rob. By any chance are you from 'bath'
Nah, from Taunton! But live very close to Bath now -Rob
gary cox lol kinda stalkery
***** Oh dude I'm from Exeter! Close! And I love Metal Gear! Must be a thing that just makes people from our way awesome.
***** no bitch
K-town Germany representing!!!!!!!!!
Rob i know this video is old but thanks for getting me into metal gear i bought MGSV for ps4 and the legacy collection for ps3 so thank you man
Rob's so excited 😂
Ps, you guys should do top 9 days of the week in games
1a. The impression of solid snake... WAS EPIC. [6:09]
1b. THAT long climb up... yes the towers... and oh hell yeah the hind-d, but why nobody remembers or mentions the background music when you attempt to fight that damn thing!!.
2. The epic fight between Old Snake and Liquid Ocelot... *priceless.* [8:20]
3. The Boss fight... yes I almost cried, or I think I did. [9:49]
4. The screen when it went [HIDEO] (Replacing VIDEO like it was a TV) IT ALMOST FOOLED ME BACK THEN xDD. [10:18]
Yes, the Metal Gear Games were always epic, but nothing beats good old Metal Gear Solid for PS1.
Great video man!
how about when you realize theres only 4 real missions in act 2 of mgsv and wonder where the hell the rest of the game went
hehehehe
+Rob Graham Cut.
#FuckKonami
That torture scene in MGS peacewalker made my thumb crack 5 times in less than a minute, now it occasionally locks into place and I have to pop it back out in the most painful cracking of any finger ever.
Thanks a lot Hideo
Metal Gear Solid 2 ending
Mindf*ck
I get wet going back over it
That boss battle at the end of MGS4 with the two Metal Gears is one of the best boss battles ever in the history of gaming for me
PS ACCESS continues during the Easter break! Great video Rob!
Nathan should appear as Brian Cox during the videos. He is so funny!
I did a slow clap and started cheering when I saw the title of this week's episode. And I'm alone right now. I was so excited, that even though I was watching on my PS4, I actually pulled up the video on my laptop in order to leave this comment before I even finished the video. Bravo kind sir. bravo.
Why do I get the feeling that Rob likes metal gear
you haven't already noticed?
not suprised
obvious sarcasim is obvious
Liam Jarratt really what gave you that idea.
That guy who did the Solid Snake impersonation--I remember him from when he was the host during one of the gaming conventions. It's nice to see him make a return!
what about in mg2 when you could let that guy piss on your head for like 2 mins
LonesomeSparrow7 dude, you forget about portable ops before peacewalker!oh,wait...it doesn't really necessary tho' :\
If it's the story your worried about the just watch the cutscene movies on UA-cam. If not, then just play. You'll still enjoy it.
Jimmy Pegg I read some recaps and watched Ground Zeroes so I think I got the gist of it
How could you miss out that memorable and outrageous moment in MGS1 where you have to change the shape of the PAL Card by visiting the areas of different temperature?!?
It was such a pain having to go up and down the cargo elevator, constant fears of getting caught and all that running around but it was also very much in keeping with the rest of the game:
Go all the way back to floor B1 and get the sniper rifle
The torture chamber was where the DARPA Chief (Decoy Octopus) was!?
Oh if you want the thermal goggles they're back in the tank hangar
And imagine not seeing the rope item box after getting all the way to the top of the Comm Tower, plus the ridiculous multitude of gun cameras in the stairwell of the second Comm Tower. Who needs five gun cameras next to one another!?
MGS is incredible :)
Delsin Rodent is going to be in every single PS access video now. :)
Best intro to ANY friday feature ever! I was legitimately SO happy for Rob in that moment!
I'm looking to get into the MGS franchise. Can I get tips on where and how to start?
Start with MGS 1 and go forward. If you want you can play metal gear too. Play them all in order and if you like them then you can play the spin offs.
If you can't get MGS1 just watch it on UA-cam if you really wanna know the story
I'd say you really should try and play MGS1, people always say it's aged really badly, but apart from maybe the comms tower section I disagree. It's my favourite in the series next to Snake Eater and one of my favourite games in general. After you get used to how it works it becomes fantastic.
They're so many great moments in this series. You can honestly put 20 moments in this video instead of 9
Still Friday rob is awesome only reason y I sub this channel
Bruce Wayne same
ditto
Same
I just love the way he speaks. It sounds like he orgasms at every sentence! :D
Bruce Wayne same
His use of the forth wall is genius and actually becomes an integral part of the story rather than just a gimmick. For example the dog tags at the end of MGS2 and Raiden discarding them.
The most unbelievable moment in metal gear solid is... wait for it... Hideo Kojima leaving konami
The ladder scene is one of the best moments in gaming.
I don't know why but for me it is
I wish this channel was called inside playstation. Like the opposite of inside xbox 😂
Outside playstation
the xbox channel are called Outside Xbox :D
The OPPOSITE of Outside Xbox.
My god your guys ain't that smart.
Bastjan Sejberg i was talking to pacman363 and Jay Yule sorry i should of hit reply :D
Outside* xbox
My most unforgettable moment would be snakes return to Shadow Moses Island in MGS4. Walking through the snow storm and not being able to see a thing and then making your down a path and suddenly seeing the snow storm disappear to reveal the place were it all began recreated in full with next gen graphics! The subtle nods to the history of the island and flashbacks to moments in the original game just made that my most OMG moment.
Seriously love this video XD Metal Gear Series foreverrrrrr
Man, every time I climb that ladder, or even just see/hear a reference to that ladder, in MGS3, I get chills.
Raiden revelead is the most wtf. i was thinking that im still doing prologue, till the end of the game.
The bit in MGS4 when Mantis tries to read the PS3 memory card got me all nostalgic
i have never played a mgs game but i would like to because of this series
+Daniel Haddock Start with the original MGS on PS1/PS3/PC or if you can't handle the antiquated graphics play the twin snakes(remake) for Gamecube
+John Butch dosnt matter anyway mgs5 has no story flow at all there's like 10 different snakes
That will always be my all time fav gaming moment.
is metal gear your favourite game of all time
Omar Alhusban game series
Another hilarious and unique video. I look forward to them each week. I was quite surprised by Delsin's reaction to Rob's educating though, he nearly had Rob's eye out. Thank goodness for those spectacles. See you next Friday gang. 👍
Let me give you ideas
5 most creepy side boss in skyrim
10 most explicit character in game
10 game that fucked us(stuck somewhere.cant complete and never play again)
10 best boss in metal gear solid
10 longest boss battle
10 most butten mashing moment in game
10 most epic cinemeatic in game.
want more? i could give you more
I love how he goes from RAY vs. REX, to the scene that basically allowed me to eat a sandwich while playing through it.
is it me or were the cutscenes in metal gear solid 2 60fps???
They were
Lmarkot otter HD collection?
most games were solid 60 fps until the 7th generation of consoles :P 30fps only really became a thing recently because hardware isn't good enough for the games, or the games aren't optimised enough.
mgs2 ran at 60 fps, mgs3 on the ps2 however ran at 30 fps, how bout do some research before insulting people plz :3
Harry Doolan many 3D games were sub 30 fps before 6th generation, 30 fps is not new for consoles in 7th gen
One of my most unbelievable moments in Metal Gear is when Snake's ageing process increased and made him old. That might be just me but I had no I idea what to think when I saw that
How about when you have to turn snake in the menu to make him vomit when he was in prison in metal gear snake eater
Rabeeh Al Asfar That was just one way to get out, there are a couple different ways to escape in each game where you're in prison.
Good thing there's a cut-scene after the microwave sequence to give your thumbs a rest.
R.I.P David
Mine is when in MGS4-Act4, you're taken back to Shadow Moses Island in the original MGS1 graphics ! And then you're in MGS4 mode again ! And after infiltrating the helipad, you listen to the song "The Best is Yet to Come"; dear God, I remembered that tune as I typed this and it gave me shivers !
not even mentioning metal gear rising revengeance once is... cruel
no its not, that game has nothing to do with the original saga other than having Raiden
Revengeance is part of metal gear.
Sahil Akhtar It was made by Platinum Games, not Hideo Kojima, and the story of it doesnt make much sense, it is still a fun game though
the shift was because it was hard for kojima productions to develop the game because of the change in gameplay. they are still the ones who produced it; they just allowed changes so platinum games wouldn't feel any creative restrictions in the game. It still is part of the original metal gear timeline.
The End and Psycho Mantis. Two of the best boss battles in the Metal Gear Solid series that could be easily dumbed down by one of the most overpowered item in the MGS series: Thermal Googles XD
Great video by the way :D
I'm so pissed and sad that they got rid of the codec for MGS5. Now it's just some stupid hologram thing. I'm so depressed.
Two things to say about this video:
4:50 Well that has nothing on the MGS:PW torture scene. Not only was Snake being tortured, so were your fingers and the PSP it self.
