What i always liked about dan in sf4 was that even if they look rediculous, his special moves are actually pretty good, and he even has one of the best shoto tatsus. In exchange though, he normals are absolute trash, which is a great way to mechanically tell the player that this guy just focuses on flash, and never actually bothered to learn the basics.
And then he creates Jiren who relies purely on strength and is THE strongest mortal until Goku masters Ultra Instinct. And he only lost to plot contrivance. Fuck that guy.
What we've learned from real fights: there's a pool at the top of great fighters who may be the best but "styles make fights" so there is no clear best since it seems like a Rock, paper, scissors, battle of which style beats the others. Them talking about canon tournament winners reminds me of how goofy the canon kof tournament winners list is, with stuff like kyo and k’s teams winning like 4 times in a row each and benimaru having the most wins
Furthermore, I don't get this whole "character beat this character therefore they are stronger than all these other characters." Sometimes people win and sometimes lose to the same people. It's not nearly this linear.
Measuring the power levels is a crapfest in general. How does compare to , even if you know the "mechanics" behind them? What about "the plot demands it" or player input? What if someone has a worse day or doesn't do their best? And what about professional martial artists participating in some random tournaments: why would these athletes put all their effort into that small, unimportant competition that 90% of the time gives them nothing save for some money, maybe a useless trophy and five minutes of glory that doesn't matter since you're already a famous sportsperson?
Whining Ylthin Power levels are bullshit. Even going back to DBZ's early days Toriyama introduced Power Levels just so he could take the concept apart.
Power levels aren't bullshit. We just don't know how it works. Special Beam Canon clearly has some sort of piercing effect, while destructo disc clearly has a slicing effect. Power levels are dismantled by ki control, which is how they can raise it more or less. Power levels do actually work as in terms of Bulma or Roshi, and likely just determines the ki flow in beings or something we don't know rather than ki buildup, ki expansion(Kaioken), or some other mechanism. And because this wasn't explained we cannot just say power levels don't work because Toriyama said he created them to dismantle it. To assume so only proves that it works to a degree on how science works that pain can send you into shock, but not how pain can wake you up or pull you out of shock. Electricity can kill you, but we use it to restart the heart as well. Obviously, this just means the scouter is an imperfect tool.
The part where he says rock Lee and kenpachi I want to animate to that, have them meet each other and when he says raw fucking power I have a comic book prescript in my mind just gotta write it down
It has to do with the fact that the technique involved has two forces of air and sound colliding at one point. But Charlie is so powerful that the force he creates is enough to do it with no collision.
If the explanation for any superior version of a move is, "He's so powerful he entirely breaks the rules of the move" then there's no logic behind it and it's just rule of cool. It'd be like if there was a character in Naruto that could kick Rasengans at people, or if someone could just fly using air bending in Avatar.
note4note He isn't breaking the rules, he is simply so powerful he can use it with ease. The sonic boom is about creating a sonic boom powerful enough to hurt people. he is so strong he can just use it with his leg. It being with the arms is simply so it can be preformed with a smaller barrier to entry rather than, you must be god tier strong to use it.
ishmael scali You realize that just because it's called a sonic boom doesn't make it one right? Nash isn't kicking faster than the speed of sound, so it has nothing to do with breaking the sound barrier.
note4note canonically that is what's happening. to help create one guile uses both hands to create a point of impact with his fists that would collide so fast it creates a sonic boom. Charlie dosent rely on such tricks. Because he is dope.
SO GUESS WHO'S BACK WITH NO CUFFS AND A KNIFE AGAINST SHIN AKUMA
*HEH-HA INTENSIFIES*
And Oro has been announced....are they psychic?
No it was like this
-Pat performs a perfect sonic hurricane in the office, destroying every screen and window
When you listen to this and look a streetfighter 5 where not only is cody uncuffed but charlie is back from the dead.
Cody w/ No Cuffs + Knife? ✅
Charlie Brought Back from The Dead? ✅
Shin Akuma? ✅
Oro w/ Both Arms out? ✅
SFV really is a dream match.
Listening in 2019
>Pat wants Charlie brought back from the dead and Cody with no cuffs
It's like he KNEW.
[CRAZY TALK]
@@ripamoramee14 We're [RIDING HIGH]

Omega Mode Dan fixes his normals :D
I always come back to this to have a fun time listening to power levels.
The "Staring down the barrel of God Rugal" Thing got me good. Like the amount of fucks Oro is not giving is a ludicrous amount.
So when is Platinum going to make a game about Cody?
I love these supernerds. Dont you just want to steal their lunchmoney?
Woolie and pat are the ones you gotta worry about. The rest are fair game
So basically Cody is Frieza
I was gonna say this, too. Good thing I combed the comments first just in case.
Nah, I'd say as of now, he's basically become Geese. In his younger days, I'd say he's kinda like Piccolo.
No Cody is Saitama with handcuffs.
So, when is Black Cody?
Toriyama made Power Levels just so he could demonstrate how stupid it is to rely purely on strength.
Love that guy.
And then he creates Jiren who relies purely on strength and is THE strongest mortal until Goku masters Ultra Instinct. And he only lost to plot contrivance.

charlie back from the dead, aha, ahaha, AHAHAHA oh that's good
Hearing this years later is a tad depressing.

they are bullshit because if thats the case how did gero make a bunch of cyborgs that are way stronger than people that can blow up planets?
Jack of All Vamps what does strong robots have to do with power levels being bullshit? Gero just made some strong robos.
Who has more potential? Cody or Sakura?
Cody is THE Street Fighter
No the arguments still valid. That cell getting hit with destructo disk was just filler so technically it didn't ever happen.
Gohan straight up caught the two cell threw at him
The part where he says rock Lee and kenpachi I want to animate to that, have them meet each other and when he says raw fucking power I have a comic book prescript in my mind just gotta write it down
Super Bruce Lee vs Super ghost Samurai, begin!
Oh god Pat, legs are stronger than arms. Throwing a sonic boom with your leg isn't impressive because everyone's legs are stronger than their arms.

Man Liam will take any moment to disagree with Pat, that “your opinion” line. Man he was such a baby
SUMMASAULT
the cell thing was filler, guys
Akuma is definitely stronger than Charlie. He maybe the strongest.
