@20marvelman well it didn't help when Woolie was trying to tell a story about being player 2 or 3, and Matt was just being a shit about it. Anybody doing that just once would pretty much end my desire to ever interact with them forever.
I had the weirdest childhood in terms of games. My first games were Tekken 3 and Gran Turismo because that's what my dad played, but I was like 7 so I like them but really didn't grasp them. The first game that really grasped me was my dad's feind let me play Mario Kart 64, and thus I asked for a 64 for Christmas. So for a while I was a Nintendo fanboy... kind of. Cause i asked for a GameCube when it was first shown, but my paretns got me a PS2 because they wanted me to have a DVD player but knew I wnated games too. So I played PS2 but really only played PS1 games like Tekken and Gran Turismo. I wasn't interested in Final Fantasy at all for some reason even though I love it now. Next year I got a GameCube, played it for the longest and started to ignore PS2 for a while. Then Kingdom Hearts came out, then Psychoanust came out. Those were my main PS2 games.
Ehh fuck their judgmental asses; sorry, but of all the first games to judge I really don't get hating on that one, even the ones that starts with F or O? I wouldn't assume so much about them based on that *first ever,* we all had to start somewhere, and they're really not that embarrassing compared to some other choices; people their past selves, others' younger lives and kids in general way too hard.
It’s a pretty good first game mine was Pokémon blue from what I remember and even the earlier versions of minecraft make that look like pong in comparison
@@NamesSmeg Jak 3 was trying too many things at once so it felt like a mess. Heck, they even gave Jak way too many tools in combat so you felt super overpowered too. Lol

Really weird hearing Liam praise Mario Land 2 over Mario Land 1, when my reaction is exactly the opposite. I adore Mario Land as a fundamental part of my childhood, and the fact that the "sequel" chose to throw away most of the unique design elements that define the game so that it could be a weaker version of Mario World.

Pip IV Jak and Sly were strictly platformers. Ratchet and Clank was a level up in the genre. By introducing weapons into platforming, combat wasn't limited to close quarters. It added a shmup aspect to an already successful genre. Later iterations of the game took advantage of its near-perfect controls and was unofficially the first series to birth what is now known as "horde mode". All 3 are great games, but R&C stands in a sub-genre of its own.
I am, and will always be, a huge fan of Nintendo. growing up from 1992 onward my older sister and I would play in the NES all the time, but around 96-97 I was introduced to the PlayStation when my sister got it. From there I was introduced to Crash Bandicoot, Spyro, and Tomb Raider. From there my interest in PlayStation began, but I was still a Nintendo fanboy. I think a few months to a year later I got the N64 and I got the best of both worlds. I later got the GameCube and remained a Nintendo fan for the longest, even forgoing the PS2 thanks to SSB Melee and Super Mario Sunshine, but my PlayStation fanboyism began to return when the PS2 had Tekken Tag Tournament and 5, Devil May Cry and Metal Gear Solid 2 and 3. Since then I've regretted not getting a PS2. It was when the Wii and PSP was released when I actually wanted to get a PS3 because of Tekken 6 (at the time there was no word of it coming for the Xbox 360). so I got the Wii and later the PS3. since then I've been a dual Nintendo and PlayStation fan. And yes that also means I don't care about Xbox (not too many exclusives, Halo lost ist steam when 4 was released, never like Gears, and Killer Instinct came out on PC)
Nintendo gets ridiculed now for "making the same game 15 times" because their most creative ideas (like Sunshine) are the most hated. You're allowed to not like it, and I like it but agree on many problems, but honestly I'd rather they attempt different things like it than give us Mario 64 2. Galaxy was cool and all, but mechanically felt too safe and, heck, was very linear, which Mairo 64 definitely wasn't, so meh I don't get it.
