    You are awesome my man and are a treasure trove of information on this swap in particular, i have a 2004 5.7 hemi motor sitting on my porch just taunting me to throw it into my 2000 4.7 Dakota. Thank you so much for the work and knowledge you are sharing with us, especially myself. Because yea this will be the biggest automotive job I’ve ever embarked on.

    on the trans dip stick and tube, make sure that you use the matching pieces. When I did my Hemi swap I used the Dakota tube with the Ram dipstick. I ended up running my trans a few quarts low on fluid and ruined it. Anyway I found another 545rfe and swapped it. You wiring harness looks great.

      I used a brand new seal with the 4.7 dakota dipstick and 07 ram 545rfe hasn't leaked a drop

    Dude!!! Thanks for all you’re doing!!! I’ve got a ‘99 quad cab 3.9 V6 with an AX15 5spd M/T… and I just decided to do a 5.7 Hemi Swap, I acquired a 238 Getrag 6spd M/T from a 2007 RAM that had a 5.7 unfortunatelly I couldn’t get my hands on the engine, I just watched all of your Swap videos and you just motivated me even more to do this, I’m jus on the hunt for the 5.7 engine and my biggest concern was how to make the accelerator pedal to work since 5.7 is electronic and 3.9 is driven by cable, so, you just helped me out with all that, again, I haven’t even started it but with your videos I am totally 1,000% and more decided to do this… please keep up the awesome work you’re doing and who knows???!!! Maybe we can meet some day with our “Hemi-Kotas” and do some “0-60’s” 🤘🏼😁🤘🏼 thanks again for all your input man!!! 🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼

      I love seeing comments like this thank you. I will let you know on a 99 dakota you'll have to go to a 00+ gauge cluster and I think 01+ brake booster also the pedal setup I did I honestly hate after driving for a few miles so I'm going to use a accelerator pedal position sensor from a 03-04 ram 1500 with the 5.7 it will allow you to keep the oem pedal and cable I'll be doing an up date video on it soon I'm actually installing it now as I type this lol. But thanks man and yah for sure I'll post some 0-60s and maybe some 1/4 times if I can get out to a track and it would be cool to get a 99 M/T hemi dakota and 01 A/T hemi dakota lined up. Good luck with your swap man happy I could help

    Nice job on your Hemi swap. My friend and I are in the process of swapping my 4.7 out of my 2004 Dakota. We are using a 5.7 out of a 2004 Durango. We had to change out the PCM and a lot of wiring. I noticed you have long tube headers on yours. I was going to buy a set of the Hooker Blackheart Hemi swap headers but unfortunately they are discontinued now. What headers did you use and did you have to modify them?

      I used hooked blackheads headers for swaping a hemi into a dakota from holley and as far as the ecu I would recommend a 05 ram 5.7 ecu that doesn't have skim from the factory to know for sure it doesn't have it look for a black key that has no buttons on it those ecus don't have skim

    Very nice. Question, did you swap the oil pump for a high volume one? Heard the Hemi’s get a tick going mostly from not enough oil moving at idle.

    • @gearhead4266
      @gearhead4266  2 роки тому +1

      Eh all hemis tick and its not do to oil pressure mostly the thin oil 5-20 and the size of the heads. This motor had perfect oil pressure and no tick so I checked the #3 bearing and left it be. Hemis are very reliable as long as they aren't over heated and the way to spot a bad hemi is low compression in cyl 1&3

    I can see why you had to modify the control arms due to the headers you’re using, but what if they weren’t long tubes? Can it fit with the standard type of headers?

      You'll have clearance issues with the stock manifolds I have heard of people using jeep srt manifolds I'm not sure what the clearance issues would be with those
