Depends where you live...Recently in Serbia we got direct EK distribution, and it's the best deal for AIO we got. LF2 360 is priced the same as nucleus 360,and it was no brainer for me.
Arctic seriously do not get the praise that they deserve for their coolers. £66 for the LF3 360 presently & knocks 17°C off a NH-D15 with a 13900K (Intel limits enabled with the NH-D15 & MCE enabled/no limits with the LF3 360) over a 30 minute Cinebench run. Didn’t even hit throttling with the LF3 even set at 5.9GHz P-cores/4.5GHz E-Cores & no undervolt. No noise either with pump & VRM fan running at 100% constant. Even if replace the supplied P12 fans with Noctua NF-12A Chromax fans, it is still significantly under ‘premium’ AIO prices. Goes to show that not all budget priced AIO’s should be tarred with same brush, especially if a reputable brand like Arctic put them out.
Back when I used to work at a computer hardware store, we'd started selling Gamdias products. At the time, I'd never heard of the brand, and their prices seemed suspiciously cheap. One day, a customer wanted to buy a 240mm Gamdias AIO. The moment I picked up the box to scan the barcode, I hesitated. The whole box felt empty. It felt much MUCH lighter than any big-brand 120mm AIO. I asked the customer if they were okay with me opening up the box to make sure the product was new and actually packaged. They gave me the go-ahead, and... yup, everything was there. Customer still wanted to go ahead with the purchase, there was no convincing them otherwise which, fair enough, I get that. Guy comes back a week later wanting a refund. According to them, the fans were rattling around like crazy and the pump made incredibly concerning noises. After the refund, some of us were curious about thermal performance, so we set up a test bench. Oh boy... it was worse than AMD's Prism stock cooler. The customer's claims were also spot on. Since then, we've done our best to steer future customers who were attracted by Gamdias' low prices.
Oh God its Gamdias. I think a lot of people who researched budget headsets for console back in the 360 days probably heard of them at some point, and everything I personally ever heard was negative lol. This should be good
Back when COVID lockdown was happening and GPUs were way overpriced I bought a pre built just to get a GPU. It had a Gamdias power supply. It was the first component I replaced.

Be interesting to see how the Thermalright Frozen Edge 360 / Thermalright Frozen Prism 360 compare, which can be had on Amazon Germany for €69 or less. Given how much Thermalright has been killing it with their very affordable yet very performance competitive air coolers, it would be interesting to see how far behind the big dogs they are with liquid cooling.
Not all cheap AIO's are bad, but the general rule of thumb I can agree with. I got a Thermalright Frozen Prism 360 AIO last June for $65 and I've had it running at 90% pump speed 24/7 (my pc is always on) with a 13600K at first and now a 14700K with great results. Fingers crossed that it lasts a while.
It should last, there is nothing inherently complex about the pump that should make it die early. They are simple machines and easy to build in volume reliably.
I put the TT Floe Riing but no ram cooler, 240mm (no need for 360 on my build at the time it was 2600x, now 5800x3d it still runs cool) but I got that cooler for $60 and it's been in my system for 5 years now. I'm happy with it and the cost was fair. i used a TT 750w rgb power supply gold, but they put a 10 year warranty on it, whatever but I'm happy with the thermaltake products.
I got my Arctic LF2 360mm for $93 new last December. These $200+ coolers are a joke imo. I literally see no reason to get anything other than Arctic cpu coolers and fans at this point...... the value is great but over Christmas they had stuff like 30%+ off. Around the best performance but quiet as hell. No compromises, really!
Personally I'd like to see a temperature/performance comparison of one AIO with and without Sheik on top of the case, as both my cats like to (individually) sleep on top of my case where the 360 AIO exhausts, whether the computer is off, idle, gaming or video rendering. They love the heat. I had one of those old cable TV boxes sitting on my desk and they get very warm. My cat always went to sleep on it. Probably why it finally died.
Hey der8auer! Has Aqyris started to appear in Germany? It's a Romanian brand that has apparently been bought by some American company. Their air coolers and fans are good and the cases are really great at a nice price. Can't really trust their AIOs and PSUs and haven't seen one unbiased review about them.
Great review, even if I'm not looking to buy a AIO. Just wanted to mention that i first thought that the "Aura" written on the packge of the cheep AIO was compatability thing for motherboards with Aura lighting. But I also want to point out that I'm not a RGB guy but can survive with some discrete colors and variations.
ID Cooling typically has good budget AIO coolers, if the Liquid Freezer II is still a bit too expensive for you. I’ve had a bad experience with Gamdias cases since a review unit fried the ARGB header on my motherboard As for that thermaltake unit, Silverstone’s new biblically accurate AIO with the magnetic fans would probably be better for memory cooling On a side note, is Sheik bilingual and understands both German and English?
I have the TT Floe 360mm premium, that was part of a "custom" build from CyberPower pc...yes i know its cheaper to build your own but it was during the pandemic when you couldn't get anything. The Thermal Take aio has been rock solid zero issues with performance, fans and pump at full speed arent loud either. The only minor gripe is TT's software was annoying for a few months, it wouldn't retain my rgb settings after I turned off my pc...so have to set the color, which was just a simple static purple, each time I turned it on. However, I haven't had that issue again. So honestly it's been a very good aio esp for what I paid vs a Corsair aio which was 50-100 dollars. In fact, at the time at least, a 240mm/280mm Corsair aio was a bit more than a 360mm TT premium. The Corsair tax is real and they don't really perform any better than the more maligned brands like TT, Cooler Master, etc
could you please add a comparision with the gamdias 360 aio which you said was $70 and add other 120/240 aios that cost around $70 and see which one is better?
Would have been interesting to see how using the thermal take fans on the cheap aio would affect the cooling. Tests done in the past have shown the fans can be a moderate factor for cooling. Curious to see how bad the fans and/or pump is in the cheap aio
@der8auer-EN are ThermalTake's RAM bad? No one really reviews RAM...seems like its just a matter of does a set of RAM work or not, when UA-camrs do builds or receive products for projects they're doing. So I was wondering if you were saying that aesthetically no one should buy them or if they don't perform well?
Although you're still probably better off with a regular aircooler instead of the cheap AIO in most cases, I would have been curious to see how it would perform with the fans swapped out with something decent but not too expensive. It would add $20-30 to the total cost, but would probably fix the sound issue and might improve performance a bit. This might have some application for builds with too little height available above the processor to mount a decent aircooler. It's crazy to me that they can build and sell even a crappy block/pump/radiator/fans for that price.
I bought a really cheap AIO from ID cooling, and it's been working remarkably so far. I think my 13600K runs around a max of 65C stock with the default fan curves of my asus board. Not sure how you managed to find one that was such a disaster out of the box.
Thanks for another very informative AIO video. I had no idea AIO's came as cheep as that first on.Cost alone would prevent me from buying the 3rd one, plus how much real benefit does one get from a memory cooler??
I just installed an AIO from thermaltake; it was around 55$ canadian. It works like a charm in terms of performance and rgb/fans. also has the 3 pin rgb connectors with an adapter that came with it.
Based on my personal experience with AIOs, I would never buy any AIO liquid cooler again. Threw out two AIOs because the pump start to make weird noises after 1~2 years of operation. No, those AIOs were not the cheapest ones and yes I know how to install it properly. Third time I just bought Noctua air cooler and have done with it.
I love Der8bauers (Roman) channel. I can understand clearly the points he’s trying to make in his explanations. He is such a nice, down to earth guy. I come for the Tech, but I stay for the Cats!
@@fracturedlife1393I already had a LF2 360 waiting to be installed when Arctic launched the LF3, & once saw the price of the LF3, I had to buy one. Glad I did tbh as the performance of it is absolutely stellar. No need to spend silly money on an expensive rebadged Asetek product from most of the other brands when you have the Liquid Freezers available.
Where i live, decent air coolers are pretty expensive, and i ended up buying a similar AIO (although with functional pwm and addr rgb) branded as Rise. Any brand air cooler at a similar cost was smaller, or out of stock, and i compromised by going with the AIO. I've had it for a couple of months now, and had no issues. I'll be happy if it doesn't explode water all over my pc lmao
Not sure, I would think the Thermaltake Floe RC Ultra 360 is sort of based on use of their own brand of RAM sticks for mounting compatibility. Perhaps look into it and retest it based on that.
Does Corsair not put a thermal pad on their PMIC? Those dimm temps seem high for 1.4V in an open air case. Even at 1.55V my Teamgroup kits stay under 45C with just a 120 fan blowing some air on them. I like the concept of the memory cooler AIO but in typical Thermaltake fashion the execution is terrible.
This video came at a perfect timing for me because I am currently building a new PC and am in the part selection process rn. I have everything selected just except AIO and storage. For those interested this is my current spec sheet NZXT H6 flow case I7 14th gen Gigabyte Z790 mobo RTX 3080 ti (used) 64GB ram.
Are Thermalright products available in the EU at a reasonable price, like in the US you can get Thermalright AIOs for like $40-60 I'd trust them more Gamdias by far, Although I'd probably just get a Thermalright Frost Spirit 140 air cooler, they're only $28.
Proprietary memory mounting screams vendor lock-in. People buy Thermaltake's cooling products, the brand is a long established heavyweight in this area. As you said nobody in their right mind would get an idea to buy Thermaltake RAM, not when it's neither particularly attractively priced, nor has the reputation of someone like Crucial or Corsair. So they use the cooling product to sell RAM.
@@BrunodeSouzaLino That's not true in Europe, where Asetek is one of several suppliers, with their patent not being valid here, and is probably merely a large minority of the market. Cooler Master, Apaltek and several small OEMs are well represented. It's probably even less true in third world and China.
My H100i exhibits horrible pump noise. It made my system much louder at idle than it was with an air cooler... but I like the screen, so I live with it.
If the pump is on the CPU block, it is manufactured by AseTek. Doesn't matter if it's Corsair or random-letters Chinese startup. The only difference is the radiator and fans. I've historically had good luck slapping quality fans (noctua, be quiet, phanteks, arctic, etc) on cheaper AIOs. I wish more reviewers would test coolers with standard fans to remove that variable (which is, in many cases, the biggest variable), so that you can see the heat dissipation of the radiator/heatsink itself. I know most people will buy a cooler to use the fans that come with it, but it would be informative nonetheless.
Actually, i had that PWM IC controller screeching on an EVGA 1080 FTW aswell. I ended up making a custom fanshroud (3Dprinted) and placed on two noctua fans on it... Also, I bet Noctua is looking at the gap between the shroud and the blades and cringing inside.
I'll never do water cooling. Once I switched all my fans to noctua... it runs cool. And I don't ever need to worry about leaks or the pump fan. Had a fan failed once in my build.. but it didn't overheat. Can't say the same will happen with a pump
Rad at top is a crazy way to test especially with the gpu dumping the heat into the intake, add in pressure difference with gravity and pump at medium 😬
I think that memory water-block of the Thermaltake AIO would have been better suited to cooling a Gen5 m.2. Please test the ID-Cooling 280mm AIO. (ID-COOLING FROSTFLOW X 280) They are very affordable and therefore very tempting. The only complaints about it on Amazon seems to be related to misuse and mishandling when installing. At least that is my takeaway from reading the negative reviews. I just want to know how well it does against a Ryzen 7700x. Thank you.
Those voltages on the 12900KS are insane. I'm running my 12900K (5.1 Ghz) @ 1.36 Vcore with a vdroop @1.32V. I'm cooling it with a Corsair 280mm aio. Temps stay under 80c with Cinebench.
Why are 420mm aios so cheap? I picked up an arctic liquid freezer 3 for $115 and i will definitely be testing it. My ek 360 maxed out around 320 watts with my delided i9 7920x so i am curious to see where this one maxes out.
Any chance of future vids doing something like this for the psu.s? Its kind of moot but still... Not my first rodeo, but i somehow always manage to overspend and then suffer on the gpu/ssd size front. I know its kind of silly to ask because if it provides 5V where needed, is it then realy viable to spend twice as much Eur on the same wattage for example?
G'day Sheik, Makita & Roman, Down here in Australia if I am after an AIO I choose Cooler Master or Deepcool as they are priced way better than ASSTek based AIOs.
I'm part of a review program that I cannot discuss (NDA)... but I have a power supply from this company that I haven't tried yet. Now I'm hesitant to put it into a system that I might want to actually live.
I had a asus b450 with my cheap AIO and worked fine, this week I upgraded to a gigabyte z690 and initially my AIO worked fine, the fans and ARBG, once a Installed the RBG Fusion 2.0 I realised my RGB fans light didn't match the software but i didn't care, after I while my fans light turned off and later I realised my fans weren't spinning, so long story short, the RGB fusion affected the pwm from the fans and my fans only spin if I unplug the ARBG, probably because is a cheap generic 240mm AIO, but yeah, maybe one of the issue was the ARGB
Probably much larger than what would fit in a traditional case. The Noctua NH-P1 is probably the best mass production passive CPU cooler and going off Noctuas own compatibility chart it shows a Ryzen 7 2700X as not really recommended as it would thermal throttle under an all core load even with a fan installed. I tested my 2700X and it pulled around 140W under an all core load according to HWInfo so I'd imagine adding another 100W into the equation would just completely overwhelm the cooler. It really would just be better to have a more traditional tower cooler with some quiet fans at that level of power draw.
I have never had any problems with thermaltakes products and can recommend them. I have never had that model with ram cooling and it feels unnecessary in most cases
My AIO Thermaltake Ultimate Water 3.0, after 6 years of usage is astonishing. I have to admit, when I was buying it I was hesitating because it was a hit or miss in my mind. Nonetheless, that looks like a solid Thermaltake product as well. I would buy it although the feature for DDR modules mainly for their products isn't convincing.
Bought a barrow all in one radiator solution for a itx build Radiator with DDC clone and res built in. and the fans here are very much the same as this, same colour and a strange connector . Do not have any way of testing the fans with out a controller but will get to it in the future i just replaced the fans with lianli units. Appart from that the fans look identical

A: Im pretty sure a world renown overclocker who is the CEO of a company who's entire business is making high performance thermal interfaces for computer parts knows how to mount a CPU cooler and uses high quality thermal paste. And B: The difference is that even under full load an overclocked 5900X isn't going to pull more than ~160W, vs the i9 12900KS he was using in the video which was pulling almost 280W before it started to thermal throttle.

Would have been interesting to see how using the thermal take fans on the cheap aio would affect the cooling. Tests done in the past have shown the fans can be a moderate factor for cooling. Curious to see how bad the fans and/or pump is in the cheap aio
Artic freezer III 360 just bought for 76,99€ and performances are excellent. But this is a promotion, MSRP 121€
12:27 OK mr food guy just hold on a dam sec =@/@= sniff sniff ok proceed
Just a factory defect mine is working perfectly maybe isolated case😊
I'm sorry but you left the most important part out of the video. how did you get the cat off the computer (sorry my bad) off the cat bed?
That first AIO sounded like a hospital EKG you'd see in a soap opera. Such a bizarre noise for a fan to make.
The artic freezer v3 is insane price for like 120$ for the 320mm version and cools as good as the 200$ and more coolers.
Did the TT RAM cooler help???
Thermalright AIOs are cheap in the US - should we avoid them, too?
Thermalright sells budget coolers that actually work
since you like testing weird coolers, would you ever be able to get your hands on Cooler Master, MasterLiquid Maker 92?
They don't want to be compatible with other products. They want you to buy more of their products.
Lets ask this question, are the fans the issue with the gamediase AIO? or is the entire AIO is bad?
Well is your fancy pantsy Corsair better then my Arctic liquid III 360 that i bought for 76,- ? :P
They went in hard, £65 I was seeing it suggested to me for. Probably because I got the II 360 for 62. Bloody algo's 😅
I hate when your videos end, but I love the outro music!
Would the Thermaltake work to cool an NVMe drive? Could be quite useful?
Not sure, I would think the Thermaltake Floe RC Ultra 360 is sort of based on use of their own brand of RAM sticks for mounting compatibility. Perhaps look into it and retest it based on that.
hmmm did they fix bent cpu problem?
Where did you plug the pump into the mobo with the gamdias ? I haven’t got aio pump in my bios
For those interested this is my current spec sheet
NZXT H6 flow case
I7 14th gen
Gigabyte Z790 mobo
RTX 3080 ti (used)
64GB ram.
And because the vast majority of AIO products in the market are rebranded Asetek products.
@@BrunodeSouzaLino That's not true in Europe, where Asetek is one of several suppliers, with their patent not being valid here, and is probably merely a large minority of the market. Cooler Master, Apaltek and several small OEMs are well represented. It's probably even less true in third world and China.
but what about lian li galahad 360 AIO is that not better all the AIO tested in this video?
The rad sleeve and pump design look exactly just like my id cooling fx argb
My H100i exhibits horrible pump noise. It made my system much louder at idle than it was with an air cooler... but I like the screen, so I live with it.
What is the release date for the x3d compatible direct die frame?
Temps stay under 80c with Cinebench.
gamdias is very common here in the philippines, i tell you i have bought some of their products and have a bad, very bad experiences from that brand
I know its kind of silly to ask because if it provides 5V where needed, is it then realy viable to spend twice as much Eur on the same wattage for example?
be quiet's silent wings pro 4 140mm pwm gave me same beeping noises. When turned on to dc control it dissapeared.
G'day Sheik, Makita & Roman,
Down here in Australia if I am after an AIO I choose Cooler Master or Deepcool as they are priced way better than ASSTek based AIOs.
69 Euro but not very Nice.
Thoughts on the gl360 v2?
I'm part of a review program that I cannot discuss (NDA)... but I have a power supply from this company that I haven't tried yet. Now I'm hesitant to put it into a system that I might want to actually live.
Not sure why you need dram water cooling. seems a waste of time. if you need a bit more cooling for your dram, use a fan.
10:00 For me it's look like for ssd plate. Maybe you can gen it on top of SSD. Next step will be AIO CPU+SSD+MEM.
Those new actic air coolers are pretty sick.
I had a asus b450 with my cheap AIO and worked fine, this week I upgraded to a gigabyte z690 and initially my AIO worked fine, the fans and ARBG, once a Installed the RBG Fusion 2.0 I realised my RGB fans light didn't match the software but i didn't care, after I while my fans light turned off and later I realised my fans weren't spinning, so long story short, the RGB fusion affected the pwm from the fans and my fans only spin if I unplug the ARBG, probably because is a cheap generic 240mm AIO, but yeah, maybe one of the issue was the ARGB
saw a video claiming the new Thermalright Phantom Spirit 120 EVO beat a lot of AIO coolers would be interesting to see it tested
Twin tower? They sure beat 120/140 and many 240, no surprises here. Good 240`s or something bigger? No chances.
Q: how big would a passive heat sink w/o fans or fluid need to be? for ~240w?
Probably much larger than what would fit in a traditional case. The Noctua NH-P1 is probably the best mass production passive CPU cooler and going off Noctuas own compatibility chart it shows a Ryzen 7 2700X as not really recommended as it would thermal throttle under an all core load even with a fan installed. I tested my 2700X and it pulled around 140W under an all core load according to HWInfo so I'd imagine adding another 100W into the equation would just completely overwhelm the cooler. It really would just be better to have a more traditional tower cooler with some quiet fans at that level of power draw.
We don't care about the integrity of the benchmarks, keep the cat in it's cozy place!
on pass 3 cinebench r23 my cheap deepcool 1 fan cooler went from 38 to staying at 66 but i see your temps hitting 97 to 108 hmm
You know that you will now need to test these expensive AIO against the new Arctic Liquid Freezer, they are inexpensive but not cheap! 😊
I have never had any problems with thermaltakes products and can recommend them. I have never had that model with ram cooling and it feels unnecessary in most cases
Whoops I watched the entire video thinking the title was “please buy this”
What game is he using to benchmark a gaming scenario?
Thermalright makes chaeap water coolers. Far as I've seen and used, don't seem to have any problems
My AIO Thermaltake Ultimate Water 3.0, after 6 years of usage is astonishing. I have to admit, when I was buying it I was hesitating because it was a hit or miss in my mind. Nonetheless, that looks like a solid Thermaltake product as well. I would buy it although the feature for DDR modules mainly for their products isn't convincing.
try a 360mm aio from id cooling because those aios are cheap and the quality is decent
From my personal experience an LT720 with T30 fans and a contact frame can handle ~330-340w on a 13900ks and with only 2-3 cores actually throttling
I remember seeing Gamdias products at Fry's Electronics (RIP) in the USA
Bought a barrow all in one radiator solution for a itx build Radiator with DDC clone and res built in. and the fans here are very much the same as this, same colour and a strange connector . Do not have any way of testing the fans with out a controller but will get to it in the future i just replaced the fans with lianli units. Appart from that the fans look identical
bro what is this testing temps? got an 150i from a couple years ago. cpu won't go above 60c with an amd 5900x 4.9ghz clocked with 12 cores 12 threads... did you even attach the mount correctly? what about the paste? what even is the 100c temps???? try cpu burner and tell me the temps. mine won't go past 70 and at max 80c after 3 hours of leaving it on. Now for sure it's pricey (i don't have the rgb model paid 180 euros for mine.)but i had a cheap AIO that got "blocked" and burned my cpu. temps were skyrocketing (Like shown in the 150i rgbfor you so either is a cloged/defect product. are the 150i and the rgb variant different? if not there is something wrong here.
