It is unfortunate they did not include plastic spacers and longer screws so the display could be mounted further from the heatsinks. This would allow you to adjust the fans for clearance, better airflow, and the RGB LEDs to be seen. It might be worth giving this a try.
@@techluvin7691 That's the issue. I have a Noctua NH-D15 cooler in my enormous Phanteks Enthoo Luxe case and there is less than 1 cm between the fans and the glass. There is some room for an auxiliary display, just not there.
I've had lots of fun making my sensor panel work, too. You need the appropriate scaling on your main monitor as well as the mini one - at least I did. Also, you need to install the fonts that go with the profile you are importing as that helps with lining everything up properly in the theme.
The heatsink and the fans are the exact same as the JUISHARK JF200 I own, even has the same annoying problem with mounting the center fan. Dissipates about 200w for me just fine. Ended up switching the fans later, only because there was some rattle noise from one of the fans. Seems like this one is rebranded or possibly using the same manufacturer. Edit: Forgot to put that the JF200 is priced between $35 -$65 depending on the shop.
That fan clip looks very similar to the Noctua ones for the NH-D15, you COULD have mounted the fan to the rear as I have to do on mine to give the ram clearance. 🙄
Whenever I build a new system, my first look is toward Corsair LPX memory. It's good enough and I've yet to have any cooler conflicts. It sucks to do that but it better than spending $200 on memory I can't use.
I have old TV with the same resolution bug, as in it wants to be bigger reso that it really is, and using it at that results in major overscan. The fix was to adjust the image borders in the GPU drivers, now the image is clear and fits on screen, and windows is happy with its ~20% bigger resolution LOL
I think the best way to have a product that does this but with a more minimalist screen is the Deepcool digital series of coolers and pc cases. I want to get one in the future, a case if I can find one for a good price in my country
The resolution issue on the display is probably because the firmware on the hdmi board is only set up for one resolution, I've seen this with other cheap similar screens from aliexpress etc. To save cost they only bother to set up one resolution that works, and the rest is just neglected. They would have to use more code for it to work properly with other resolutions as well
@@SianaGearz Yes, but some seem to require to have the resolutions hard set in the firmware. Seen this at capture cards and upscalers also, some only accept one very specific resolution it won't work at all much like this. EDID metadata from what I know requires a table of resolutions etc. But I am no expert.
Since you weren't able to get the instructions to work, is it possible that it was meant to be operated with the two USB interfaces, and the HDMI was just a coincidental feature? I mean maybe the screen wasn't originally designed to be just a CPU cooler display. Does your board have onboard graphics? Maybe, it could be run off of that, so that you aren't giving more work to your main graphics card. One of the USB cables probably adds touchscreen capability. The cooler reminds me of my AK620. With that cooler, you're able to move the fan to the other side, so that it's not above the memory modules at all. It's an interesting idea, but it seems a bit overcomplicated.
I really wish Corsair would make a WigiDash style USB screen which you could control with iCue. I've tried a HDMI screen in my PC and they are indeed a pain in the ass. Way more configurable than a WigiDash but guaranteed to cause issues.
6:10 How should they do the fourth hole, through the circuit board on the back? The RGB behind the screen will only heat up the display. Sad you didn't measured how hot it was ... RGB in the second fan is also useless ...
On those Windows presets. Check your Winodws scaling. I've found AIDA Sensor panels want to launch with your display at 100%. It's real annoying as you have to set it to 100% every time if you run something different.

I honestly think an internal USB header would be nice for a product like this. Saw it done on a few AIO's, but ye I think this would be better to just DIY, especially for the price. There's also the fact they give you the manual on a USB... So for those concerned with safety, receiving a USB from a small company you've never heard of is quite alarming. 800x480 or 1024x600 are fairly common on those little 7 inch screens, they are weird ratios. maybe its looking for something like that, and scaling other inputs to pretend to be 1080p
Since the monitor is not physically connected to the cooler, you could've mounted with the heatsink only side facing the dimm slots, as there seem to be enough clearance there and your motherboard doesn't have slots on either side of the cpu.

Regarding the issues some screens have HDMI connector but they actually use DVI over HDMI and newest GPUs might not like it, had some 720p screen like that work with 2080Ti and it didn't with 3090.
The more complicated something is, the worse the possible failure. They compounded the quality by having multiple bad things instead of just 1
That USB cable - it's Maplin branded. That's a defunct UK PC components store! They went bankrupt. Why is that in there?? xD
They've been gone years lol.
Maybe lamptron bought up excess stock cheaply

Personally I feel like I would rather buy an affordable dual Tower air cooler and a cheap screen and do this myself for a lot less money than this. I would even specifically pick out a case that has a vertical GPU Mount option and mount one that has one extra slot than the provided slots available so that they're then becomes an internal display connector that I can hook the screen into. For $300 the fact that I still have to run a cable outside the computer and the fact that it's literally just a DIY hobbyist project makes no sense to me. Considering that $300 is not exactly chump change I would rather pay for a dedicated screen accessory for existing Tower coolers that is intended to be fully integrated internally into the computer through USB or something like that.
