I've had mine for over a week now and I Love the ride over my Road King, and my Goldwing.
The power is somewhat of an understatement as it pulls almost as hard as my gen. 1 VMAX!

I hope Indian puts that engine in a smaller cruiser. Something bigger than a Scout and smaller than a Challenger. Great review!

Years ago they made a Indian Spirit. It was a medium size bike about like a Harley Softail . I'd love to see that happen too 🙂. But the challenger doesn't really feel that large . I actually felt like it was pretty compact. But that engine in something similar in size to a Dyna or softial would be great

Andrew Edmond it’s above my pay grade, but it feels as though this is the first time in US made cruiser history where you might buy the bike and not have to change a damn thing (ie: spend more money).
Great fun! You mentioned that this Indian was a little more exciting than the HD Road King but I can’t find a video from you with the Road King. I’m a motorcycle guy but Harley is my all time favorite, especially the Road King. Nothing could ever beat the HD Road King in my opinion. But I got excited when you mentioned you haven’t tried the Road Glide yet because I hope you get the chance. It’s an amazing ride. Actually I loved watching this video so much because out of all the videos I’ve seen from you, this one specifically I noticed that you were smiling and laughing while riding much more than any other bike. When a bike puts a big smile on your face and makes you laugh while riding it, you know you’ve got a great one there! This Indian sounded amazing and the video was truly great fun to watch. Hi Scott! I was really glad to see the piece on the Scout, so I was wondering when/if you were gonna take a look at the rest of the heavy lineup. As a Vision pilot I was also curious how you were gonna like riding a heavy. I got the reaction I predicted! Great work on this piece, btw. I have ridden the Challenger Limited. I love the engine. To me it's the way forward for Big-V's. Pulls like a truck and very smooth. Every bit as good as my modified 106. Defnitely smoother. The suspension is very good also. Brakes - way better than any cruiser / Bagger I have ridden. I especially like the Ride Command system. Well thought out and it works well.
The disappointment comes in when you sit on it. I know for most it's fine, but I'm a bigger rider and for me it's cramped. It certainly doesn't compare to my trusty Vision. And I am still coming to terms with the look. I'm struggling to like that fairing. I think the trim and bezels look kinda cheap and should be improved upon.
All in all this is a really nice bike. But it's very expensive. And frankly, I wouldn't trade the Vision for it. I'm waiting to see what else Indian will do with the Power Plus. Cheers, my friend!

So just for kicks I watched this again. You really seemed like you were enjoying yourself on this bike! And you looked proper on it. I tend to think you are in that sweet spot as far as physical build etc. You had good command of it, you know? I think the Challenger is more approachable that way for a big bike. As I recall it felt well balanced and very stable. Low speed handling was very nice. And yes, it would be very interesting if you were able to test a Road Glide Special. If you don't you'll always wonder... HA!

I rode one a year ago when it was first released. It was my first American bagger test ride and I was VERY impressed. Unfortunately I didn’t have time to jump on a Harley-Davidson to compare, but I will soon be riding one as well as the Challenger again.
I cant stop watching this video for the past few days.. because im in the talks about getting myself a 2020 Challenger DH end of this week or next week if all goes well :D
I will be upgrading from my first bike, the 2020 Scout 60 i started on last June ;)

Great video! You always have such calming and informative reviews. I love Indian motorcycles. Unfortunately, at 5 feet 4 inches tall, I don't think I'd fit on any besides the Scout.
You should fit this just fine. A friend of mine is 5'5" and rides a Chieftain. My Uncle is 5'6" and rides a Goldwing. Within the Cruiser/Tourer category small bikes can be uncomfortable for tall people, but big bikes are almost never uncomfortable for short people.
Nah, you should be fine on this. Go down and sit on one and if you can, take one for a test ride. You'll love it. The weight is about the only thing you have to get used to, unless you are used to riding big cruisers then weight is not a problem.

You have a valid concern. I’m a Road Glide owner, had Street Glides, I’m 6’1”, just took a test ride & while seat height is low, the Challenger has more forward controls than most tourers. It’s foot controls are more like my softail than Road Glide & handle bars & neck are more forward than any bike I’ve ever ridden. I saw Cheiftain comment, per the Indian dealer, this bikes riding position is more stretched forward than Cheiftain also, if 5’8” & under, you should test ride. Amazing bike though! My Road Glide has a 107” cam, tuned, perf exhaust 2-1 w/ no cat, this bike stock smokes it.

Great review as usual! I loved it as well. Indian has a great platform in the PP 108. I really hope they launch more (cheaper/unfaired?) models. The Scout is just too small for anyone over 5'8.
Yea, I'd like to see an un-faired version of this and of course take 6-8k off the price. Now that'd be a great bike.

I wish you could get this Red on the Dark Horse model. I'd be more impressed with the aluminum frame if it actually made the bike lighter than a Road Glide. Overall a mean bike though

I love the bike and I love you review I just don't know why they didn't use a hydraulic clutch. I've never seen a hydraulic clutch fail but I have seen clutch cables snap and then you're stuck in whatever gear you're in when it goes.
ive watched several videos on the challenger no ones ever mentioned exhaust valve function its not an emissions thing ?
That is an aftermarket exhaust system. Factory does not have any kind of valves or adjustments.

The only thing I find better on the road glide is the front. Other than that, this bike looks really good.
@Alternator I prefer the Challenger front end over the Road Glide.
I also hope they get android auto for the entertainment system.

I get the feeling that you are kind of homesick, because of all those american bikes you show us.
But maybe I am just wrong, because I really don't care for Indian and Harley Davidson. I like the sound alright, but not any of the rest.

Hmm...never thought about it. I'm just riding what I can ride this year because of covid19, it has really limited my options/ride times/availability of bikes...etc. We have a saying in the U.S. "beggars can't be choosers" so whatever I can get my hands on this year...I'll ride it! 😂

Hmm...two different styles, one a true tour and one a cruiser/tour. Still I think I'd take lean towards the Challenger, but then tomorrow maybe I'd lean towards the K16. 😊😒
NothingToProve The Challenger for the cruiser/touring and the Indian Roadmaster for a true touring bike. Nothing against the K16 Grand America. I’m thinking about maintenance costs after purchase. What it all comes down to is whatever makes you happy 😃.

Yes, the motor is built in Osceola, Wisconsin then shipped to Spirit Lake for assembly into the bike.
Yep. Harley-Davidson drivetrains and Indian drivetrains are both assembled here in the state of Wisconsin. Also I believe that the last USA produced outboard boat motor company still assembles a portion of their motors here in Wisconsin, Mercury Marine. Throw into that mix S&S Motors out of Viola Wisconsin and you a pretty good representation of summertime fun products that are made in a state where winters can last upwards of fifteen months a year......

The name "Challenger" belongs to Dodge. Why would Indian name it something an Indian Comanche?
The front fairing looks like it belongs on a pickup truck. Why doesn't it come with a tour pack?
Maybe an electric reverse gear would be nice, maybe even an automatic like the Goldwing.
The Challenger name isnt a trademark of Dodge... My new LS2 helmet is also called Challenger so...
And this bike does come with a "tour" pack...
Duh! I know the name "Challenger" is not Trademark to Dodge. But everyone knows Dodge is still building and selling badass 2 door Monster V8 Challenger's mine a 6.4 liter that put out 485HP. My point was, why wouldn't Indian name there new bike with an Indian name like an Indian Comanche or an Indian Cherokee. Would that make more sense?

well it's meant to challenge everything the road glide has to offer and as someone that switched from harley after 15 years to the indian they killed it you could spend 35k on a cvo glide for 105hp or spend 22k on a base challenger and get 122hp better handling better infotainment and a better motorcycle in my opinion the dark horse is 27k and blows the road glide out of the water I put tens of thousands of miles on a road glide special and yes it is a good bike but just not in the same class as the indian
That nose cone and headlight looks hideous. You didn't mention it touching down on bends so I guess ground clearance is ok.
It did better than most cruisers, I've ridden, in a corner (with my limited cruiser experience). I was actually surprised as to how far I could lean with this bike...for a cruiser...all things relatively speaking.
