    The engine is manufactured in Osceola Wisconsin. Always nice when something is based in the USA I hope this is a huge hit looks like it would be a blast to ride. Nice job guys.

      Seems to be selling like hotcakes...their sales in the first quarter of 2020 jumped over 30% because of this bike while Harley sales dropped 23% from the pandemic.

    Great video guys. I got my riding impression a couple of months back when “Moto America” ran a bagger class at Laguna Seca with pro road racers on Indian and Harley baggers! All the fancy and fluffy is ok, it’s even better when you see how they fly on the track! Great aftermarket in this class!

    I never thought I'd use it but I've had three bikes now with cruise control and I wouldn't want to own one without it. Of course that's because I do a lot of highway miles.

    I am coming up on my 500 service this week. Love the bike, overall so far. I have heard the valve train noise you mentioned. I just thought: "Oh it is an overhead cam and four valve motor". It is taking sometime to feel comfortable with the throttle action. Plus, the handle bars are larger (wider) than i am used to as well, but all good. Great bike and the power is impressive along with the handling in corners. This is my first Indian, only owned H-D up until last year. I had become dis-satisfied (H-D) over the years with maintenance issues, and said I have bought my last one. I am very focused on keeping my vehicles in top running condition all the time...

      I did take a H-D Road Glide 114 out for a spin. I even told the salesman, I was surprised I even came down to look no less take a demo ride. I looked at every bike in this class of motorcycle.

    Polaris has been using mono shocks in their cruiser designs since at least 2004. Not sure about the V92C. The whirling you’re hearing is likely from them flipping the magneto and having the coils mounted to the primary cover. Other designs tend to have the coils mounted to the motor and covered by the magneto, making it a little quieter, but more at risk to failure due to trapped heat.

    Definitely ups the game that HD is lacking (imo). I would have really considered that for my last purchase if Indian had a dealership closer to where I live. I really enjoy my 2019 HD Road Glide Special, but Harley dropped the ball on several items for being cheep, i.e. the miserable stereo system that you cannot hear at highway speeds.

    I’ve been a motorcyclist for 50+ year now and have owned nearly all of the major brands of motorcycles. I currently ride a Harley Ultra Limited. I took several long demo rides on various Indian motorcycles. The Challenger is an entirely different motorcycle compared with the other Indian touring and bagger bikes. the controls are very light and the engine spins up quickly. It feels very much like my BMW K1600 in that regard. While it feels front-heavy, the fairing being frame-mounted keeps the steering feel light. Plenty of power compared with the Thunderstroke 111, and very few vibrations. Good heat management, decent seat. The Challenger feels like a very good all-day or all-month ride. My two concerns are the lack of Indian dealers (several states have zero dealers at this time), and the reliability of the suspension. I owned a Victory Cross Country Tour and the suspension was awful, and Indian still sources its suspension parts from Fox. Last, having experienced Polaris shutting down Victory I’m wary of Polaris deciding to close down Indian if there is more profit to be earned in its other product lines.

    I like the challenger. I wish they had a 2 up tour model, with lowers, tourpack , passenger floorboards, 4 speaker system to name a few. I know these are all add ons but it is a lot more $$$. I guess the only bike in their lineup like that is the roadmaster

    • @channell11
      @channell11 3 роки тому +2

      Give it a year or two, they'll probably make a Challenger touring model. They have the parts now, but you're probably looking at 5 grand or more for the add-ons.

      @@channell11 update I rode the challenger at a demo event. I liked how smooth it was, loved the clutch feel. It fit me pretty well. The audio was disappointing, was not use to the gauges. I really was expecting it to be faster. It ran rough after about 65 mph like it needed some tuning. Rode a roadmaster limited it was fine until about 70 then it felt out of tune as well. The suspension was great and the handling was good. That roadmaster was agile and light! My bike has had performance work at stage 2 ultra limited. Neither of the indian bikes stereo compared to the boom audio I have stock. Both had 4 speakers the roadmaster was better it was 200 watts. Maybe just the speakers I don't know. I like my jams when I'm riding!

    Don't review bikes that often do you? Or did much research on this bike? Rear cylinder deactivation has been around for years. The fob will lock and unlock the saddlebags remotely. Key in fob will lock bags and steering. There is also a puddle light under the bike that lights up when you use the key fob. Brembo brakes are radially mounted for better stopping power. There is a 12vdc port on the right saddlebag lid by the lock. Inverted forks on baggers is not new either, my 2010 victory had that. The screens on the ridecommand can be customized by drag and drop. The TPMS will work after the bike starts moving. The S in the circle is for when the kickstand is down. The vents can be closed. No need to hold the start button until it starts, just tap and release it. Bike will start on its own. Tires were especially designed for this bike by Metzler. This is a 2021 model. Slight differences between 2020 and 2021, location of power button and painted inner fairing.
    How do i know all of this? Perused the interwebs for a year for info. And i bought a 2020 challenger darkhorse in november. The bike is absolutely awesome.
    I know the TFLbike is a new thing. You will get better. Still a good video. Ride safe. Shiney side up, rubber side down.
