    I think Bevel is a good, solid system. The razor and brush are the highlights.

      I absolutely agree on the brush and razor. Good value and performance.

      +The Clean Shaver What DE can you compare this razor to as far as smoothness/aggression, etc.?

    • @TheCleanShaver
      @TheCleanShaver  8 років тому +3

      Dan Lutter I'd compare it to a DE89 or 34C on aggression. The design, however, makes it feel a lot more maneuverable.

    I got one for Christmas and used it this morning. Not a bad system. Like the cream and brush a lot

    Well, I guess Bevel must have listened to you. I was in a store the other day and saw all the Bevel products sold and packaged individually,. To be honest I didn't know anything about the razor but I thought it looked cool so I bought it. When I got it home I dropped a Feather blade in it and took it for a spin, Wow how nice. One pass and some clean up and I was almost BBS.

    I bought Bevel a few weeks ago. Gives a good shave! My only thing is the shaving cream is somewhat difficult to work with to get a good lather. Always seems like I have to use more than I need to. Good review!

    • @TheCleanShaver
      @TheCleanShaver  8 років тому

      Thank you! I agree. The razor itself is a good shaver, but the cream definitely needs work.

    I have been shaving with bevel for a year. It is great. I still get a few razor bumps but this is wayyyy better than before. the price is high but fortunately I can afford a dollar a day even though I shave maybe every 3 days. As for the shaving cream i get a great lather every time so it may be dependent upon your water quality. Maybe try using distilled water or something. I do supplement use with bump patrol liquid which I buy separately but I love the products. the brush is great but my gripe with it is that the handle is glued to the head so over time as you run hot water over it, the glue comes undone and the head and brush separate. they need to fix this.

    • @TheCleanShaver
      @TheCleanShaver  8 років тому

      +TonyTone Funches I agree. There are lots of benefits to this system, and for the price it's pretty good. Like you mentioned, there are a few quality issues I'd have them address.

    I just read that the subscription price for the Bevel system is $89.95 paid in 3 installments of $29.95. That is a great price compared to price stated in the video of $29.95 per month. I will definitely try it.

    • @TheCleanShaver
      @TheCleanShaver  8 років тому

      You're right. The $89.95 for the whole kit is a good value. You will be charged that at a minimum. Then the $29.95 per month after the first three months is to replenish the creams.

    Im more interested in the razor alone since it has consistent good reviews. The badger brush has come loose in some reviews quit early in use.Plus Id prefer boar over badger.Im also interested in the prime and post creams separately from the package to try. There are so many good creams out there with much better,richer lather. Thats my take after watching multiple reviews of this product. Razor, and creams only.

    • @TheCleanShaver
      @TheCleanShaver  8 років тому

      +jgyrwa The razor is definitely the highlight for me. The pre and post treatments are decent, as is the brush. The cream underperformed, though.

    Good review - there's too many great products out there for me to buy into a closed "system" but I would consider the razor on its own.

    • @TheCleanShaver
      @TheCleanShaver  8 років тому +1

      +rimohamed I hope they'll eventually offer the razor individually. It's a great shaver.

    You mention the cream needing work. Did it lack slickness or was it just the look of the lather that wasn't up to par?

    • @TheCleanShaver
      @TheCleanShaver  8 років тому +1

      +J Wal Great question. For me, it was the lack of lather. It just didn't get up to where it needed to be for me. I felt like I was having to use WAY more product than I should have.

    This whole shaving system is aimed mainly in USA for African Americans right?

    • @TheCleanShaver
      @TheCleanShaver  8 років тому

      +UNC Tarheels That's correct.

    • @Xanduur
      @Xanduur 8 років тому

      UNC Tarheels Yep, and if you had hair/skin issues like many black people do, you might like it. I had several friends in the army who suffered horribly from daily shaving. I like that Target carries it. So, from the video I got the impression this is a milled razor. Is that correct?

    @steveazusa 8 років тому +2

    Man i always gotta do a 3 pass on my head because my hair grows back like sand paper lol its so thick.. The razor is, 50$ at target.. I don't like how they aim it at curly Hair.. That's like saying wet shaving is for certain type of people.. That's dumb.. But 85$ free shipping for the set im gonna buy it

    • @TheCleanShaver
      @TheCleanShaver  8 років тому

      +steveazusa You're absolutely right. Wet shaving is not for only certain kinds of people. It's for everyone, but I think they're just aiming at a certain demographic.
      And I agree. The $85 for the whole set is not a bad deal.

    Thanks for the great review!
    One thing I noticed is that there were no evaluation at the end of the video like the ones that you did before. Can you give me some specific points or grades on Bevel? You know, just like other reviews , on price, efficiency, design..

    • @TheCleanShaver
      @TheCleanShaver  8 років тому

      +Daehyun Kim Sure. On Design, I'd give them an 9. Some cool things going on, but I thing there are a few improvements to be made. Efficiency, a 7. The razor is a darn fine shaver, but the cream is just not very good right now. Price, I'd give it a 6. It's okay, but they're asking too much for it, IMHO. Cool-factor, would also be about a 7 for me. It's a good-looking razor and brush, and it sounds cool, but I'm not a huge fan of the whole "branded" set. This is purely my opinion. If it were me, I'd look at getting the razor and MAYBE the brush when they're available a la carte from Target next year. The other stuff, I could take it or leave it.

      The Clean Shaver awesome! Just used my Bevel single razor last night. feels smooth and I didn't wake up with as many bumps and little annoying whiteheads i usually get the next morning after a shave. I'm trying to get used to the single blade and proper shaving technique.

  • @221932248

    how would you compare the razor to the hone type 15 razors using on your head.

    • @TheCleanShaver
      @TheCleanShaver  7 років тому

      The Bevel is obviously MUCH lighter than the Type 15 brass. As far as the actual blade/head feel, I'd say the hone is more mild, but more efficient - if that makes sense. If I had the choice between the Bevel or the Hone, I'd take the Hone every time.

    Do you mean "you should use a new blade each time you shave with a double edge razor"?

    • @TheCleanShaver
      @TheCleanShaver  6 років тому

      No. You can reuse the blade a few times, generally. But you should definitely change it out if you notice any tugging or pulling while you shave.

    How close was the shave compared to a cartridge razor?

    • @TheCleanShaver
      @TheCleanShaver  8 років тому +2

      I get very similar closeness results. It takes some practice, but you can definitely get better shaves with a setup like this than you can with cartridges.

    great video.. just received the Bevel start kit for Father's day. super excited to they DE shaving. question..can I use any DE blades in the Bevel? I've heard great things about the Feathers?

    • @TheCleanShaver
      @TheCleanShaver  7 років тому

      Yep. Any blade will work. If you're a beginner, I'd advise against Feathers right off the bat. They're incredibly sharp and require a learning curve. You could definitely work up to them, but I know the Bevel blades are sharp enough to give you a good start.

    • @alexprice5070
      @alexprice5070 7 років тому

      The Clean Shaver is their a blade you would recommend if I didn't want to use the Bevel blades?

    • @TheCleanShaver
      @TheCleanShaver  7 років тому

      Lots of blades to choose from. For a starter, I'd probably recommend Derby Extra, Astra Super Platinum, or Gillette 7-o'Clock (in the yellow or green boxes).

    Do you go against the grain immediately on your head?

    • @TheCleanShaver
      @TheCleanShaver  8 років тому

      Depends on what razor I'm using. I do, personally, just because I've had enough experience to do it. I find that with the grain or across the grain doesn't do much for me on my head. Sometimes, if it's been several days between shaves, I'll go WTG first.

    • @DuckNoire
      @DuckNoire 8 років тому

      +The Clean Shaver I'll give it a try, usually I do three passes on the head...time consuming

  • @MagicShroomGod

    is this just for african americans or can whites use it also?

    • @TheCleanShaver
      @TheCleanShaver  8 років тому +3

      Well, what color is my skin? ;-) LOL
      In general, wet shaving is beneficial for anyone who has problems with irritation or ingrown hairs (which is a particular problem for anyone with coarse, curly (i.e. African heritage) hair). But the Bevel system is in no way race-specific. Its marketing is aimed at African-American men, but anyone could use and enjoy the system.
