    I have always especially loved the fact that Stanley is so casually knowledgeable about the details of Recyclops lore.

      He is a gentleman of culture. Like how he knows about hentai.

    I love the moment when Michael calls that guy a moron. For all of Michael's faults, he's not the one who drove the company into the ground

    I think the unrealistic way the exec's were totally unprepared for Michael to go off-script is forgivable because it represents the utter incompetence of DM Corporate. Like, at any *properly run company* that would never be allowed to happen... and that's the point.

  • @Nighthawkinlight

    Oscar is a master of saying things that sound smart in a group of his peers, without any of the detail that would be required to make a statement actionable. He can say "This is so simple!" to Andy, but in a group where his big picture ideas would need to have tangible steps attached to them he's at a loss for words.
    It's actually the one moment in the whole show that I'd like to see if it had gone differently, if Oscar actually had some good ideas to share. That would have changed a lot of the remainder of the series. But I think the failure of DM was a big part of the show plans, and to a lesser extent exposing Oscar's hot air, which China turns into a running joke.

      It’d need a 45 step, 45 day…a step a day…45 days to get back on track. And you can take that to the bank.

    Michael Scott said it best himself, "limitless paper for a paperless world".

  • @rubberlover666
    @rubberlover666 3 роки тому +29

    Wow! I had no idea that "Scott's Tots" comes right after this episode?! I was going to say, Michael does the exact same thing here to the shareholders that he does to those kids: empty promises for applause. Only there's much much much worse consequences in "Scott's Tots." I feel he gets off too easy in the next episode compared to what he did, but considering a fundamental aspect of Michael's character is his need to be loved above all, his actions make sense.

    Michael throwing a wrench in their perfectly scripted plan is probably my favorite part of the episode. He's a child that doesn't realize he's telling adult secrets that he wasn't supposed to hear in the first place lol

      We're going bankrupt?! 😂

    • @Aragem
      @Aragem 7 місяців тому +1

      What I don’t understand is why David brought Michael in in the first place. By now, he would know that Michael can’t keep secrets and is not reliable with sensitive information. And such a tenuous time, he should have kept Michael well away from that meeting and kept him in his office where he was doing his best work

    Loved Jim finally showing some backbone here. Recyclops is iconic office chaos at its best and the a plot is solid drama for sure.

    I don't see why the shareholders were so upset at Dunder Mifflin going bankrupt. After all, bankruptcy is nature's do-over; declare bankruptcy, and all your problems go away.

      They should be thankful they're able to do that in America and they're not in somewhere like France, where all the shareholders would have probably been lynched

    Great video love the analysis and I always love to see everyone's opinion or interpretation of something but I truly think the Oscar moment was him clearly wanting to not get fired and being very nervous being in front of people who could fire him on a whim. I've worked in companies that are big and small but one things for sure, when the owners are walking around you keep busy, keep your head down and hope they don't notice you. Orrr maybe that's just me lol. Either way like I said great video I've watched a few and love this episode can't wait to see Scott's Tots.

    Does having Ronni at Dunder Mifflin for Earth Day even make sense? Wasn't she employed for just a few weeks during the summer, while Earth Day is April 22?

    you should make a deep dive about how michael not being on jans side with the lawsuit doomed him in corporates eyes because the entire series of events after they make scranton absorb stamford, scranton is reportedly making the best sales numbers but the other branches are struggling as david tells michael when he sees him in new york, michael has jim who’s seen as valuable for obvious reasons like he gets along great with david and was a candidate for jans job, but even after michaels branch continued to succeed and be the only thing that works in the company david sent away holly from michael, and he also had charles manage him even though michael didn’t need him to, i think jan was correct when she said the company shows signs of disrespect towards its employees, maybe not towards jan though but towards michael i think it’s either a problem carried over or they’re pushing the plot line for the story

    It could be that Oscar didn't say anything, because he wanted Dundler Mifflin to fail. It gives him a way out and to start fresh. But despite that lack of effort, DM persists.

  • @BunnyChamberX

    "Guess Who? The Office Edition" must be the easiest guess who in existence. Just ask "Has your individual fired a gun in the office?" if its Dwight. "Does your person wanna talk about the Scranton Strangler?" Toby.

    • @Mulverine
      @Mulverine  3 роки тому +1

      So it got a little complex when we were trying to figure out the person in the least amount of moves. We eliminated gender/race questions, so we had to go with, "is it a salesperson?" or "are they in the entire series?" type questions.

    Why do you say "in universe" for a show set on earth in our present time?
    In universe refers to verses where things are explicitly different than our own like where people have super powers.
