Still the best Fantastic Four Movie ever created😂😂
oh snap, is that shade???
@@NiaMakiReacts Unintentional lol
It really is, and there are 2 reasons why.
First, they skipped the origin story. Basically all the silver age of comics (when F4 first released) origins are some kind of "science gone wrong" and it doesn't really translate super well to modern sensibilities. They instead just dove in and said "they have powers."
Second, the a story of the film is the family and their dynamics. The B story line is fighting the bad guy. F4 works because it's a realistic look at the family. They bother each other. Reed struggles with his responsibilities to the universe vs his responsibilities to his family. Johnny is arrogant. Ben hates himself. Sue is lonely. They're all flawed and make mistakes, but they grow and forgive in a very human way. Modern comic movies think the focus needs to be a big beat em up scene with a majorly op bad guy, but that isn't the essence of the F4 comic.
I always though about how they had similar powers and all had same suits
@@NiaMakiReacts FOX Studios never got their Fantastic Four movies right, which is a huge shame. The FF deserve a top tier movie franchise. The Incredibles are the closest thing to that.
Samuel L. Jackson as Frozone is one of my favorite castings in a kid's movie ever.
"Honey....where's my supersuit?"
Side note: Edna Mode was inspired by a few people:
Edith Head: Designed the costumes for Gone With The Wind and Breakfast At Tiffany's , down to the iconic round glasses and bob haircut.
Anna Wintour: Editor-In-Chief of Vogue magazine, with a no-nonsense attitude and flawless sense of fashion.
Iris Apfel: Fashion businesswoman, known for her eccentric sense of style and bold personality.
The first time I watched this, I thought Linda Hunt (NCIS Los Angeles) was the voice of Edna Mode, but it's actually the movie's writer/ director himself, Brad Bird, and based Edna (her look/ style and personality) on several people, including Linda Hunt, Edith Head, Anna Wintour, and Iris Apfel.
My favorite aspect of this bit of trivia is that Brad recorded temp tracks for the voice talent he would eventually hire, but everybody loved his version so much they convinced him to be the official voice of Edna Mode.
Also, now I'm going to have to find voice samples of all these people.
unfun fact: the robot mr incredible 1st encountered, was designed/designated to fight frozone why he led mr. incredible to the volcano.
addtional: gazerbeam the goat, he gave his life to provide a message well hidden one at that, to whatever hero hopefully came across it his body just gave out and he died slowly alone :/
saddest fact: all the heroes that fell to syndromes creations were at the wedding.
Samuel L. Jackson's real-life wife, LaTanya Richardson Jackson, voiced Frozone's wife.
No wonder it is so absolutely tone perfect.
I never knew that! 😂
Kimberly Adair Clark played Frozone's wife
Jack-Jack Attack was a short on the dvd which shows what happened while Jack-Jack was at home with the poor babysitter 😅 worth a watch before the second movie
1:00
I don't know if many notice this (or I just realised)
Mr incredible in that recording wishes for a "simpler" life with no crime whereas Elastigirl is like no way will she settle down.
And the rest is history...Bob is itching for a chance to play hero and Helen wants to "stay down" and raise the family without superhero stuff as the law says.
Pretty ironic
Well, considering how superheroes were made illegal both Bob and Helen had a change of heart. Also they have children, so shit changes for both of them. I'm guessing both of them were young in those interviews, so it makes sense that they adapted with the times they were forced to hide.
@@summerrose8110 And? It's still ironic that they ended up feeling the opposite way from what they originally said. (And it was definitely deliberate, because Frozone also ended up the opposite way from how he originally felt. Edit: In fact, I think I originally learned this from hearing the creators talk about it, maybe on the DVD commentary.)
Yeah. It was definitely deliberate, because they did it to Frozone too. He said he doesn't want to know about a woman's mild-mannered alter ego, he prefers to just know you as a "super mega ultra lightning babe". And then he ended up marrying a completely normal woman 😂 Edit: Actually, I think I heard the creators outright confirm this somewhere, maybe it was the DVD commentary? Before that, I don't think I noticed it myself.
Those curls are the best! Great movie too!
LOL! curls say "thank you"
43:48 “um hmm you are hydrated today!” made me CACKLE
They also did a short, "Jack-Jack Attack," that shows what happened with Jack-Jack and the babysitter. It's on UA-cam.
I always like to point out with Edna that the reason she is SO insistent on no capes is because each of those heroes weren't only her clients, but at the end of the day they were her friends; she personally feels responsible for their deaths because they wore her design. Tragic, but a wonderful character trait to pick up on.
The Incredibles are essentially a reimagining of the Fantastic 4, with Mr. Incredible having a variation of Ben Grim/The Thing's powers, though lacking Ben's near invulnerability(the Increbibles in general seem more grounded with their powers). Elastigirl having Reed Richard's/Mr. Fantastic's powers(though she uses them better than Reed ever has dispayed).
Violet basically has Sue Storm's powerset and Dash having Johnny Storm's cocky personality but with Quicksilver's powers in place of his trademark thermokinesis that he is most widely known for. And Jack Jack being the strongest member of the family as well as the youngest is a comparison to Franklin Richards, the son of Reed Richards and Sue Storm.
Franklin is also stronger than all of the other Fantastic 4 members. Him being an Omega Level mutant and reality warper. But in Jack Jack's case he's a polymorph, possessing numerous super powers all at once(his name is also a play on the phrase "Jack-of-All-Trades). Whoever wrote this script really liked the Fantastic 4, whom are the archetypical super family.
My favorite animated movie of all time.
8:02 The movie said just a few minutes earlier that superheroes are living anonymously.
44:56 -- those two old men are two of the "Nine Old Men" -- guys who worked with Walt Disney, when he first started his company. They are Frank Thomas and Ollie Johnston.
The theory is that Edna designed Syndrome's suit. Brad Bird could neither confirm or deny.
I love this movie! So many little details that you miss the first time, like Mr. Incredible's constant problems with pens, at wok he's the biggest guy but has the smallest cubicule, etc.
If you want to know what happened with the babysitter you need to watch ''Jack Jack Attack''. Also, the short feature whe Mr. Incredible and Frozone watch and comment a of cartoon show about themselves is hilarious.
Great reaction!
ooooh I didn't notice those details at all, only the... eyebrow raising ones, oops
@@NiaMakiReacts Oh, no oops, just need to watch it dozens of times like I did. 😇
20:59 - 21:15 NO CAPES
I retired from a vibrant military career ("saving the world" my wife often said)...and went to work for an insurance company. I know how he feels. The adult-level themes in this movie are subtle but significant. They hit me hard as a husband and father. Imagine being defeated by a homicidal maniac and then discovering that your wife and best friend are next on the list. And then the moment you believe your family has been murdered. And moments like "Do you _know_ where your husband is?"
The baby Jack Jack is probably the most powerful super in the incredibles universe probably (he has so many powers) as in "Jack of trades".
But he could grow out of it as he grows older and retain only 1 or 2 powers
IMO, this is the best of the whole genre. Great reaction, good job. ; )
I’ve noticed that out of all my subscriptions, some of which are my favorite lecturers and low energy - chill - content creators (like once a month postings), I will click one of these review videos over one of those. 😮😅
Whaaaa!!!! Omg thank you for saying that, also realized u said low energy and I’m coming with all the !!!!!
Something I noticed for the first time this watch-through was that Syndrome “Buddy” became just like the villain Bon Voyage. He adopted the same beeping blow up tracker technology.
Perhaps…Bon Voyage’s origin story was being jealous of the kids with super powers! Perhaps…he began robbing bank vaults because of the greediness of corporations! He must’ve been the hero of his own story somehow.
Perhaps that’s why, when the supers disappeared, mega criminals (mostly) disappeared!
@@NiaMakiReactshaha, I don’t mind high energy, I just find lots of pleasure in learning. I subscribe to a lot of college’s who post free online lectures.
Bomb Voyage was originally supposed to be called Bomb Perignon, but the trademark owners wouldn't allow it.
to answer your question Nia yes Lucius / frozone Helen /elastigirl and Bob/Mr.incredibable are the last main heroes Syndrome terminated all of them.
oh man.... that's so sad!!
@@NiaMakiReacts it is though vilot dash and jack - jack could have AHD alot of unlces and aunties.
This and Megamind are my favorite superhero parodies/tributes.
Ooooh, I haven’t seen megamind either, I’ll have to give that a watch
@NiaMakiReacts
You'll be in for a treat, then.
Satires?
Please watch it!!!! I love Megamind too! It is a very looked over movie!
@@NiaMakiReacts Megamind is great.
As usual great reaction 😊
If you watch the sequel I really recommend reacting to the 2 shorts that go along with them. The comments already warned you about "Jack-Jack Attack", but there is also "Auntie Edna" that you can watch after seeing The Incredibles 2.
Syndrome is the perfect name for a fanboy based villian ark
You have the most soothing voice 🥺 subscribed immediately 🩷
Brad Bird, who wrote and directed this, also voiced Edna Mode
The two old men talking about the old school, are cariactures of and voiced by legendary Disney animators and two of the Nine Olf Men, Frank Thomas and Ollie Johnston, who have done animations for several of the old Disney movies from Snow White and the Seven Dwarves to The Fox and the Hound. Director Brad Bird met them when he won an animation contest at school and got the chance to visit the Disney Studio. Since then he he kept in touch with them ever since and he showed them his works, including Iron Giant (where they also got a cameo as train engineers) and The Incredibles, giving him constructive cristism. Sadly, Frank Thomas died a ciouple of weeks before the premiere, so he never got to see the final film, Ollie Johnston passed away in 2008, being the last surviving of the Nine Old Men.
Loved this reaction ❤❤❤😂😂😂
Thank youuuuu!!!!
It doesn't appear you've seen Turning Red. You should. I'm an old black man, but I adore that movie.
I'm right there when a reactor watches a film from Pixar Animation Studios for the first time.As a cartoonist,I love Pixar and the stories...the laughs and the sudden tears at the heart.Dreamworks' Kung Fu Panda series are great, and Disney's Big Hero 6 and Wreck-it Ralph are favourites too.
You'd think people would be grateful to heros but in reality they be doing a better job than cops, fbi and government, hell i remember a Dc movie where superman straight up took over the earth and ended all war on earth.
I just noticed at the beginning in the interviews, Mr. Incredible talks about wanting the simple life and Elastigirl doesn't want to settle down. After being forced underground, she's all about fitting in and he misses the hero life.
Batman has powers, he's a super wealthy employer of half the city. Power means control of people.
Edna Mose steals his movie.....DARLNG !!!! lol
😎👍 I did a search of your channel to see what other Disney/Pixar films you've reacted to. Yes, "The Incredibles 2" (2018) is a great film, but there are so many others that are also well worth watching. Just to name a few: "Monsters Inc" (2001), "Finding Nemo" (2003), "Cars" (2006), "Meet The Robinsons" (2007), "Ratatouille" (2007), "Bolt" (2008), "Wreck-It-Ralph" (2012), "Big Hero 6" (2014), "Zootopia" (2016), "Soul" (2020), "Luca" 2021 and many others. 🥸 You've got a great channel. 😉
This movie is when Pixar solved the problem of wet hair animation.
You were very observant about Buddy becoming Syndrome, and caught that immediately, but you jumped to the wrong conclusion about Edna's suits.
It's that Buddy obviously didn't take rejection from Bob well at all, and wasn't accepted by him, nor did he receive any guidance from Edna or the advice he might have absorbed from the deaths of caped supers. He caused his own downfall by not learning those lessons.
Ok, Nia.
There is a reason people say this is the best re-imaginig of the Fantastic Four.
First, they are a family. They are bound together by their family dynamics and quirks.
Next, superheroes powers are usually bound to the type of personality each of them exhibits as a way for them to develop.
Violet is shy she felt invisible. She had to learn the confidence to emerge from her shell. Or she would never be able to stand up for herself or family.
Dash is a boy full energy and is anxious to do alot things. When he finally gets his chance,he fully relished being set free.
Helen, a.k.a Elatsi-Girl, is the wife and mother. As you probably know mother's have plenty on their plate everyday. She must be able to stretch herself in many directions to keep things grounded.
Bob is the typical male typical male. He feels like he has to be strong enough to protect his family. Which is why his breakdown is telling of the limits of physical strength. Because his emotional strength isn't enough. Which is what his family wants from him.
Jack Jack is a baby who can potentially be anything. Which you will are more of in the sequel. Get ready.
Edna is just director Brad Bird having some by inserting himself into his movie for fun. Edna is actually based on Academy Award winning costume designer Edith Head.
Mirage always reminds me of Kelly Ripa.
Bob's boss looks like writer Stephen King.
I'll be back to watch the next movie. It's always fascinating to watch your mind chase the threads of ideas in your head, like a mouse in a maze.
Keep going and enjoy the movies
I Seen this back in the day after coming from Wanna Do City when I was a kid.
& You made gettin the Tea sound juicy 😄😆😂
lol yo this movie WAS tho!!! That waterfall parting looked so SUS 😂
@@NiaMakiReacts I was tryin not to think about the actual image Myself while it was Parting. 😄😆😂 💯% 🔥
Incredibles 2 is even better
Hope you watch the sequel, it's pretty fantastic, at least as good as this one. You'd definitely love it, they do some really fun stuff in it. 😊
You should check out the short good shows what happened between Jack Jack and the babysitter.
This may be the greatest Superhero film ever made and how The Fantastic 4 should have been.
Btw, Edna Mode (who is such a fun character) is voiced by director Brad Bird.
Other animated movies of his who are absolute classics and worth the watch are The Iron Giant and Ratatouille.
wait she was voiced by a guy?? I would never have known!!
Which is funny because the iron giant and the Incredibles are my top 5 favorite animated movies of all time
@@jlhanlon1980
Yes, if you take only American animated film (Japan has a list of its own), The Incredibles and The Iron Giant are certainly up there.
Other great animated films with robots are of course, WALL-E and if you haven't seen, I strongly suggest you watch a movie that came up this year, The Wild Robot.
It is absolutely excellent and has immediately risen for me in the top ten list of best American animated movies of all times.
Just like The Iron Giant it has a message bothe for adults and children and is full of gravitas but also plenty of humor. Without a doubt a new classic.
My favorite pixar movie❤
27:14 One Hit Kills
Thank you, Nia
thank YOU!!
*You* don't have to wait *10 years* for the sequel. ;)
Edna Mode is the best. Except for the height the characters based on the Hollywood fashion designer Edith Head.
Lilo and stitch next before the love action remake comes out!
Aww, there’s a live action?! I caught some of lilo and stitch, she’s pretty feisty!
Hey, you should do "Horus: Prince Of The Sun" (Also known as "Little Norse Prince")
2:27 if it isn't Incredi-Musk and his hero Donald... I mean Mr. Incredi-Bull
Let's go Legend
I really don't think Edna was in on it. That would make her a bit of a villain like Mr Glass
Recommendation: Toy Story and Spider Man
Can you watch Incredibles 2.
Saludos desde la República Dominicana excelente
💕
did Nia miss the bonus credit scene?!?
What, no jack jack attacks?
Bravo.
The Incredibles is the greatest movie ever made besides The Shawshank Redemption, :) .
Megamind next?
A really hard WHAT NOW?
Jack Jack attack short feature is great - pls reacts

Since we're in the Christmas season, you should react to "Christmas Chronicles 1 & 2" These movies will be classic Christmas movies.

Aw man, I have 12 Christmas movies coming out from next week… and then one more Christmas movie poll for Christmas Day… if I add it to the poll it’ll only be part 1 I can do this year
👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
What I dont get is, if they can erase memories, why do they also have to relocate them? Makes zero sense.
I assumed that they can erase a few memories here and there, but if a super does something that's witnessed by a large crowd of people, it's more cost-effective to give them new identities and relocate them.
It'd be very difficult to track down every last person who saw something if there are a lot of witnesses to a super incident. For example, there were _a lot_ of people in Bob's office who saw him throw Mr. Huph through those walls. If they missed even one witness, there could potentially be big problems if that person started investigating. Also, there's Mr. Huph himself, even if they erase his memory of the incident they're going to have to invent a story to explain his injuries (and the damage to the office). Again, very suspicious, and anyone investigating might find out about the cover-up and Bob's identity if he isn't relocated somewhere he won't be found easily.
A platinum wig and a tight dress and you could cosplay the heck out of Mirage Nia 😍
Awesome reaction/ can you please watch a movie called ANY GIVEN SUNDAY.
😄👍
