I'm not sure if you noticed at the end, but in the scene at the drive-in, Mack notices how they're just using the same actor in a lot of the movies. The actor who voices Mack, John Ratzenburger, is more or less making fun of himself. He's been part of the voice cast in some form of every Pixar feature film since Toy Story.
Up until Onward, that is. He stopped appearing from Soul onwards except for Inside Out 2 when he reprised his role as Fritz (and most likely in Toy Story 5, reprising as Hamm).
@NiaMakiReacts There're more voice actors that are in more than one Pixar movie (not counting those reprising their roles in sequels and prequels), like Bonnie Hunt (Sally) have been in A Bug's Life (Rosie), Monsters, Inc. (Mrs. Flint), Toy Story 3 and 4 (Dolly) and Monster University (Karen Graves), Richard Kind (Van) was in A Bug's Life (Molt) and Inside Out (Bing Bong), and Cheech Marin (Ramone) have besides the Cars sequels and spin-offs "only" been another Pixar movie, Coco (Corrections Officer), he have been in a couple of Disney Animation movies such as Oliver & Company (Tito), The Lion King, The Lion King 1 1/2 AKA The Lion King 3: Hakuna Matata plus Kingdom Hearts (Banzai).
The fact you recognized the girls "flashed" McQueen in the beginning. Pixar used to be so great at keeping the adults involved in the movies alongside their kids.
I'd say it's the other way around, they used to make pretty deep animated action comedies full of jokes and references only adults would understand, but that also had scenes and characters kids could laugh themselves silly over, before getting to a scene they didn't understand, and had to ask "hey dad, I didn't get that joke/line/reference, what did they mean?". I've seen reactors who watched movies by Pixar and DreamWorks as kids say that they understand them a lot better now, when they watch them again as adults.
Rest In Peace Joe Ranft 1960-2005 George Carlin 1937-2008 Paul Newman 1925-2008 Thomas Louis Magliozzi 1937-2014 and Katherine Helmond 1929-2019, this movie was dedicated to Joe Ranft, on August 16 2005 Ranft 45 and his friend Eric Frierson 39 were passengers in Ranft’s 2004 Honda Element, which was being driven by another friend Elegba Earl 32, Earl suddenly lost control and crashed through a guard rail while northbound on Highway 1, the SUV tumbled down a cliff and plunged 130 feet (40 m) into the mouth of Navarro River, killing Ranft and Earl instantly, Eric was injured but survived by escaping through the sunroof
The Fabulous Hudson Hornet was a real car and they were the NASCAR champions from 1951 to 1954, absolutely dominated the competition. Sadly the Hudson Motor Car Company was not in a great financial situation and was forced to merge with another car company Nash Motors, and they became a company known as American Motors. Sadly after that the race program was terminated during the merger and not long after the Hudson name was retired.
There's actually a book that details Lightning's backstory and origins as a racer. His real name is Montgomery, and he learned to race at an Racing Academy where the top student would receive a sponsorship. During his time there, McQueen befriended another car named Carl, and the two often spent their time racing each other in friendly competitions. Before the final race of the year, in which would determine who would graduate and earn the sponsorship, Carl told McQueen there was a problem with his car parts (I don't remember exactly what it was) and urged him to remove it to avoid any crashes. However, this was a lie as McQueen was in perfect condition, and this removal made McQueen slower and allowed Carl to overtake him and win the race, and Carl earned the sponsorship, and McQueen felt betrayed by the one who he thought was his friend, and after that, McQueen came to believe that he could only depend on himself and didn't need anyone to avoid suffering another betrayal, which explains his self-confidence and lack of teamwork skills at the beginning of the movie. After graduating and racing on the minor leagues, McQueen was fired from his sponsor, Smell Swell Deodorizer in favor of another young rookie racer named Sammy Smelter, whose poor racing fit the image of Smell Swell better, according to the representative who fired McQueen. Mack, who had overheard McQueen's termination, approached him and offered to take McQueen to Boston to meet for a job opportunity with Rust-eze, who had been looking, with little success, for a new spokescar. During their trip, McQueen and Mack became fast friends. Upon their arrival in Boston, Rusty and Dusty Rust-eze offered a sponsorship to McQueen. Though he was initially hesitant due to the sponsor's humiliating demeanor, McQueen ONLY agreed if Rust-eze allowed Mack to become his driver, which they allowed, and that's how McQueen and Mack came to work together.
I also felt the same Honey. When I was a kid I was only focused on the cars and race but when I got matured, I felt every story and emotions and even teared watching it again.
I've seen a lot of dramas that were designed to make me cry, which I didn't, but that scene where he pushes The King to 2nd place always brings a happy tear to my eye.
I remember crying when I first saw this as a kid. I watched it multiple times after but didn't cry again since that. Watching you get teary-eyed over this made me drop a couple of tears again too haha. Keep up the good work!
This movie was dedicated to Joe Ranft, who was a storyboard/story man at Pixar, as he sadly passed away in 2005 in a car crash. He was co-directing the movie with John Lasseter, when he died, and voiced Red and Peterbielt. He have voiced other characters in Disney and Pixar movies like Elmo Saint Peters/The Clown in The Brave Little Toaster, Igor in The Nightmare Before Christmas, Lenny in Toy Story, Heimlich in A Bug's Life, Wheezy in Toy Story 2, Peter Claws Ward in Monsters, Inc. and Jaques in Finding Nemo.
@NiaMakiReacts Tim Burton also dedicated him in Corpse Bride, for he was the Story Supervisor for The Nightmare Before Christmas and James and the Giant Peach (both directed by Henry Selick, the former had Burton as a producer and had written the poem that the movie was based off) and was the Executive Producer of Corpse Bride. He also have been Story Supervisor, Story Artist and/or writer of several Disney and Pixar movies like The Brave Little Toaster, Who Framed Roger Rabbit, Oliver & Company, The Little Mermaid, The Rescuers Down Under, Beauty and the Beast, The Lion King, Toy Story 1 and 2, A Bug's Life, Fantasia 2000 and Monsters, Inc.
The king (voice by richard "the king" petty), was modeled after the real NASCAR driver. Even the king's crash at the end is a real life, frame by frame recreation of the famous crash at Talladega super speedway, when rusty Wallace crashed in the exact same way. Being hit causing him to spin, get airborne, and roll and land the same way.
Oh sweet Nia! I am exactly where you are! I watched this film with my daughter when it first came out (in 2006) and -- I SWEAR -- I got BIG emotional in the theater when I first saw it! And, to this day, i cannot watch this without smiling through my tears-of-joy! I love this story. They nailed the character-arc and...awwww....it's such a good movie! It totally gets me every time. Bless you, sweet dear! Now I want a hug!
Cheech Marin voiced Ramone, George Carlin (RIP) voiced Fillmore (the hippie van), John Ratzenberger voiced Mack, Michael Keaton voiced Chick Hicks, Richard Petty (actual racecar driver) voiced The King, Jeremy Piven voiced Harv, Bob Costas (actual commentator) voiced Bob Cutlass....i could go on but i'd prolly be typing for another 30 minutes
The main reference was to old Route 66, which was a hugely important and popular US highway that crossed the nation before the Interstate system. There were many tourist sites and interesting sites along the way. There was even a television series in the 60s about it. If you drive through Missouri along Interstate 44 (which, by necessity, follows the old Rt 66 because of the mountain passages), you get a taste of what the entire route was like. You may not have noticed that the background scenes showed mountain outcroppings that looked like old cars with their front ends buried in the earth. That was a reference to Cadillac Ranch, located near Amarillo, Texas. It features a row of 10 Cadillac cars (ranging from 1949 to 1963 models) partially buried nose-down in the ground, with their tail fins sticking up.
The town itself and it's surroundings are based off a lot of what's left of old 66 through Arizona and New Mexico. The Cozy Cone is an homage to the Wigwam Motels (two still remaining, one in Arizona, one in California) which were giant concrete teepee rooms and the slogan "Sleep in a Wigwam!"
Thnx for the entertainment. Please consider to also watch part 2. If you liked this one, you gonna love the next one. And there's a no. 3 worth watching aswell. :)
Another very cool and wholesome animated movie is "Wreck it Ralph", would love a reaction to that one at some point, it's my favourite Disney movie and very underrated.
I'm amazed by some of the shots in this movie. Some of shots of the terrain look so realistic, they could almost fool me. Oddly, I don't feel the same about the sequel, even though they had a higher budget.
That #43 car is symbolic of The King Of Nascar Richard Petty. no one in history has won as many championships as he has. his father Lee Petty won the first ever Daytona 500 3 times. his son Richard Petty won the Daytona 500 7 times. after he (King Richard Petty) retired i quit watching Nascar. i was surprised to see his image in this movie. my nephews and my sister were after me for a month to watch this movie. i finally did and see why. thank you for this video @NiaMakiReacts. liked and subbed. have a great day everyone.
There is a nice fun fact when you look at the voices in the german version. Daniel Brühl voices Mcqueen and Niki Lauda voices the king, meaning that Brühl helped Lauda finish his last race. For anyone who's seen the movie Rush that's a bit special.
The other movie in the credits was A Bug's Life. All of those movies they showed were movies that came before. Which is why they did little parodies of them.
Doc Hudson "drive it in deep and hope it sticks." Nia "That's not what anyone said cause this is a kids movie" Me approximately 30 seconds later it registers between my limited brain cells "Nia caught me off guard with another one"
I loved your reaction, this was my little brother’s favorite movie growing up! I’d love to see you react to my favorite childhood movie “Robots”, it has a star studded cast including the GOAT Robin Williams!
I know this is Disney/ Pixar, but in all of the Pixar movies, there will be easter eggs. When Mack wanted to stop off for a breather, if you look on the sides of the sleeping trucks, you will see the "The Incredibles" logo as well as a couple of logos for movies that they were working on and would be released after this movie. You will also notice that the Pizza Planet truck and the yellow ball is also somewhere in every movie that they made after Toy Story.
3:35 Fun Fact, also not so fun 😂, Mia and Tia are modeled after the 1992 Mazda Miata, this movie was released in 2006. If you can do math correctly, means that Mia and Tia are 14 years old. And yes, the Miata has pop up headlights and yes this is an innuendo for flashing someone. So Lightning McQueen got Flashed by 2 minors and said "I love being me" 😂😂😂
Real cars don't talk and feel, but if you look deeper than just the steel, all cars have personalities. The way they drive and sound, they way they feel and make us feel, the time we spend in, around and under them. The shoulders of their great inventors they stand on, designers and hundreds of millions of people working on and with them every day, as in the past, as in the future. Whether you challenge the limits of man and machine on a racing track or a twisty road, whether they bring our children to school and us to work, whether they transport goods all across the world, whether a young man or woman discovers freedom ,responsibility, sometimes even love in them for the first time, or whether they serve as constant companions throughout the entirety of our lives. Cars are more than just a construction made of steel, plastic, glass, rubber, fiberglass, leather, aluminum, fabric and carbon fiber. They are an essential part of the human race.
Whole-heartedly agree. It's amazing how a good story-teller can make you feel for something as inanimate and cold as a car! I had the same experience the first time I saw Finding Nemo. I went into it wondering how they could make a fish relatable (I mean, fish are not exactly cute and cuddly, furry critters!), but - just like this one - the story-telling and characterisation won me over. If you haven't already seen Nemo, do add it to your list.
I have nemo over on Patreon, I'll probably bring it over here eventually, but yeah, at least fish are living creatures but CARS, I was like no way hahaha. boy was I wrong lol
I know you will enjoy this movie. Just be aware, if you decide to watch the trilogy (I hope you do) number 2 comes out of left field. I still enjoy, it but it isn't what anybody was thinking it would be. 3, however is a wonderful and heartfelt life lesson that NEEDS to be watched. Have a great day everyone :)
😎👍 One doesn't have to be into automobile racing to enjoy this film. That's the beauty of animation. It always transcends it's subject matter. One also doesn't have to like insects to enjoy "A Bug's Life" (1998) or fish to enjoy "Finding Nemo" (2003), two other early Disney/Pixar films that you'd really enjoy. Incidentally, they were both goofed on at the end of this film. 😉
6:19 “Top Down Truck Stop” Mack was originally gonna stop at a truck stop for a truck wash. (has mosquitoes on his grill) Bored himself, Lightning McQueen meets Mia and Tia (Twin Sisters) and the semi-trucks and Rusty and Dusty brothers. (Mack is all wet and soaked after a truck wash) Rusty Dusty Brothers told lightning about headlights. 7:20 (After Mack leaves the truck stop, Lightning tries to get back to him but enters the interstate the wrong way. 7:20 7:57 “Lost” Before Lightning McQueen crashes into Radiator Springs, he tumbles downhill to a graveyard of old dead cars. 12:53 “Community Service” (Instead of Bessie) Lightning’s body gets replaced into a steamroller to fix the road he damaged. Lightning: What have you done to me?! You put my engine IN A STEAMROLLER?! Mater: You asked for community service, dummy! Later on while he fixes the road, Mater’s body gets replaced into McQueen’s empty body. Mater: Woo-hee! Thanks, Doc! I always wanted to be a race car! Doc: My pleasure, Mater. Lightning: (in steamroller) What do you think you’re doing? Mater: Just borrowing your body. C’mon you ain’t using it! I’ll give it back when you’re done! Lightning: YOU’RE ALL MONSTERS!!! (Then he realizes that the whole thing was just a dream) “Traffic School” In order to race in Radiator Springs, Lightning requires to become street legal. “The Nightmare” Before Lightning McQueen wins the trophy, his hood and engine gets ripped off. 18:48 “Motorama Girls” During the night of Flo’s Karaoke, Ramone tells Lightning a story of how he met Flo and fell in love.
I went to one of the towns while on my way to LA in 2015. Seligman Arizona, it's a really small town ,but they have some cars made up like the characters in the movie.
This movie is a sort of rehash of the Michael J Fox movie called “ Doc Hollywood” Watch that sometime . Equally satisfying. But Cars is as great movie. Should have left it a one and done.
hmmm... Maybe you should watch "Ford vs Ferrari" and "Speed Racer" 😆😁 Maybe even "Gran Turismo" since its a video game movie that based off a true story. (Well Ford vs Ferrari is also based off a true story)
Good movie, although the basic plot (and many of the roles) is the same as "Doc Hollywood" ten years earlier: "Cocky young doctor Ben Stone (Michael J. Fox) is off on a road trip to California in pursuit of a relaxed and high-paying career as a plastic surgeon to the rich and famous. But before he can pass the Mississippi River, he crashes his car on a small-town judge's property in South Carolina and incurs a community service fine, to be served out at the local hospital assisting the aged town doctor, Dr. Hogue (Barnard Hughes). Ben is soon tempted to stay by a pretty ambulance driver (Julie Warner)."
For a live-action, true story car movie that non-car people are shocked at how sweet it is (and how much they cry), please watch Matt Damon & Christian Bale in "Ford v Ferrari." You won't be sorry!
I will say this in advance... The voice actor and inspiration for Doc Hudson, Paul Newman, had unfortunately passed away due to lung cancer awhile after the first movie, so they made Doc pass away in a similar manner to memorialize him in the 2nd and 3rd movies. May he rest in peace 🙏
Just a heads up in case you end up watching the sequels, but Cars 2 is, uh... a very different type of movie. It's entertaining enough by kids' movie standards, but it probably won't have you feeling anything like the first one.

I loved your reaction, this was my little brother’s favorite movie growing up! I’d love to see you react to my favorite childhood movie “Robots”, it has a star studded cast including the GOAT Robin Williams!
Robin Williams?! he did another robot movie?! say less I'm there!
@@NiaMakiReacts yes! I saw you did bicentennial man as well, never seen it myself but any movie with Robin Williams has to be good! 🙌🏼
Didn't know about The Incredibles logo easter eggs in this movie.
oh MAN!!!! I didn't catch those at all!!!!! dang it
3:35 Fun Fact, also not so fun 😂, Mia and Tia are modeled after the 1992 Mazda Miata, this movie was released in 2006. If you can do math correctly, means that Mia and Tia are 14 years old. And yes, the Miata has pop up headlights and yes this is an innuendo for flashing someone. So Lightning McQueen got Flashed by 2 minors and said "I love being me" 😂😂😂
Funny thing the pinstripe tatto of sally is a toyota logo.
Have a great day everyone :)
aww, ok now I'm a little worried about 2 lol! this one was great though
Best scene was the street racer cars with the neon lights 🔥
LOL!!!
"We got a nooodddeeerrr" 🚛💤
one of my favorite Pixar movies ❤
😎👍 One doesn't have to be into automobile racing to enjoy this film. That's the beauty of animation. It always transcends it's subject matter. One also doesn't have to like insects to enjoy "A Bug's Life" (1998) or fish to enjoy "Finding Nemo" (2003), two other early Disney/Pixar films that you'd really enjoy. Incidentally, they were both goofed on at the end of this film. 😉

“Top Down Truck Stop”
Mack was originally gonna stop at a truck stop for a truck wash. (has mosquitoes on his grill)
Bored himself, Lightning McQueen meets Mia and Tia (Twin Sisters) and the semi-trucks and Rusty and Dusty brothers.
(Mack is all wet and soaked after a truck wash)
Rusty Dusty Brothers told lightning about headlights.
7:20
(After Mack leaves the truck stop, Lightning tries to get back to him but enters the interstate the wrong way. 7:20

“Lost”
Before Lightning McQueen crashes into Radiator Springs, he tumbles downhill to a graveyard of old dead cars.
12:53
“Community Service”
(Instead of Bessie) Lightning’s body gets replaced into a steamroller to fix the road he damaged.
(Then he realizes that the whole thing was just a dream)
“Traffic School”
In order to race in Radiator Springs, Lightning requires to become street legal.
“The Nightmare”
Before Lightning McQueen wins the trophy, his hood and engine gets ripped off.
18:48
“Motorama Girls”
During the night of Flo’s Karaoke, Ramone tells Lightning a story of how he met Flo and fell in love.
@ 5:38 ... In the real world, race cars are not street legal. (no headlights, etc.)
each time they mentioned those things I was cracking up, stickers is crazy haha
R.I.P. Paul Newman he was perfect voice for Doc Hudson
I went to one of the towns while on my way to LA in 2015. Seligman Arizona, it's a really small town ,but they have some cars made up like the characters in the movie.
This movie is a sort of rehash of the Michael J Fox movie called “
Doc Hollywood”
Watch that sometime . Equally satisfying. But Cars is as great movie. Should have left it a one and done.
hmmm... Maybe you should watch "Ford vs Ferrari" and "Speed Racer" 😆😁
Maybe even "Gran Turismo" since its a video game movie that based off a true story. (Well Ford vs Ferrari is also based off a true story)
Awesome beautiful i so much love your reaction 😇🥰💝💖
Cute sparkling eyes at the end there Miss Nia, 😆
This movie is awesome I love the accents😂
U drive like u fix roads,Lousey lmfao
Kinda reminds me of the town called Lucerne Valley, California.
Most favorite animated movie❤
For a live-action, true story car movie that non-car people are shocked at how sweet it is (and how much they cry), please watch Matt Damon & Christian Bale in "Ford v Ferrari." You won't be sorry!
Did you see doc Hollywood, very similar
Doc and Lightning reminds me of Lewis Hamilton and Nicki Lauda
Did you notice chick hicks voice as the voice of #Batman original?😊
4:07 a very big hood*
“Holy Porsha” 👀🤌🏾
😍
I will say this in advance...
The voice actor and inspiration for Doc Hudson, Paul Newman, had unfortunately passed away due to lung cancer awhile after the first movie, so they made Doc pass away in a similar manner to memorialize him in the 2nd and 3rd movies. May he rest in peace 🙏
Way to spoil the movies, genius.
she looks like sally...and thats real michael schumaker at last as a ferrari
Pixar magic. 😊
He cried in the end🥹🥹❤️
Can you watch Cars 2.
No disrespect towards this movie, but I can’t believe Nia cried more at Cars than Muppets Christmas Carol 😂
You gotta watch Cars 2 and 3 you won't regret it
He did what in his cup?
LOL!!
6:03 I can be your friend 😭 even though you're so much cooler than I am
He didn't have headlights because they're not needed on the race track.
Let's Go
Just a heads up in case you end up watching the sequels, but Cars 2 is, uh... a very different type of movie. It's entertaining enough by kids' movie standards, but it probably won't have you feeling anything like the first one.
Cars 2 not really good but Cars 3 is a must watch on pars with Cars!
Yup the boy had to grow up
You should watch Barnyard the movie 🍿
2 now plss
I’ll be your friend! 😊
I’ll be your friend!
pls react to cars 2 and 3 !!!!
