It is amazing to see a 98 year old out and about. My nanna is hopefully soon to be 101, but in a care home and very well looked after. She did get the royal congratulations card and invitation.
Liverpool is not a rough city not at all, and the crime that does happen is between gangs usually money and drug related. Even the criminals respect wider public and keep it between themselves. You could walk through Liverpool alone at night and you’re perfectly safe. Liverpool is an anti establishment city so the media tends to always throw shade onto us. It’s easily the best city in the U.K.
Yeah I actually worked in Huyton back in 2007 and everyone I met was great and very warm. There were some gangs in the area but nobody ever gave me any trouble at all. And I loved the city it had a great vibe about it. I agree the best city in the UK

I would say that somehow Liverpool is bucking the trend to the rest of the country. I've never had a customer (taxi) who have had a bad experience and the City is getting huge investment. I love it.❤
I was in Liverpool city centre a few years ago. I stopped to look at map I'd printed out and someone approached me asking if I needed directions. It was much appreciated, and hasn't happened anywhere else.

Great video. I visited Liverpool back in 2007 when, alas a somewhat red-faced gentleman relieved me of my prosthetic leg. I've almost finished whittling its replacement and once mobility has returned I know where I'm off to first.
I was born in Liverpool. I went to Dovedale Rd School and Quarry Bank. The same schools as all the Beatles except Ringo! Liverpool was a shady place in the eighties and nineties. It then received a lot of investment from the EU and ithey revamped the place with a real airport and the city centre was completely upgraded. It's a special place, I'm happy watching this from Spain!
I'm a liverpool supporter from South Africa. I grew up supporting LFC because of my dad. As I grew and was able to think for myself I can see why he supported them. It was not just the team, but he supporters as well. They don't sing about other clubs especially the the things that pain other clubs... watching videos like this also show how nice the people of the city are compared to videos of other cities... it does feel good to support a team like this which is goodin every way

Liverpool is not dangerous. The statistics speak for themselves. The City is predominantly working class, warm and friendly. Yes, it does have a problem with organised crime so naturally with that comes difficulties but for the most part it is a very safe place.

I visited UK recently in Dec, i enjoyed my best moment of my trip which is in Liverpool. My kids and wife shared the same sentiments. The people are friendly, approachable and often cracking jokes.

Lived on the edge of Sefton Park/Aigburth...great place. A Wool from Wirral originally; worked in Old Hall Street, loved the Pig and Whistle pub, gigs at the Stadium and the Empire, Eric's....Anfield....just a great place...
Chris was great and his accent was amazing. Canada has lots of snow in winter and we would love that here in the South Wales Valleys. but dont get it much .

I grew up in Aigburth and have many memories. That pirate ship in the park was the coolest thing and i remember "the barracks" which we were not allowed to play in but we did anyway with caution. I now live in Canada as well.
The friendlier cities usually feel safer to me too cos the people seem to have better empathy since it's a natural by product of friendliness. And empathy makes you feel safer. The crime rates may not always translate to our experience but often people that don't properly know a city spread misinformation about it
My great Grandparent's and family used to leave their doirs open for neighbours up till the early 80s in knotty Ash. No problems. I miss my hometown, after living all over the country, working with the Grid! I'd move back tomorrow.

I love what you are doing. I have a couple of comments. 15 year old girls in the UK also get hit on by older men who are British. I know because I was one once. That's not something that only foreign men do! Older men fancy younger women and girls. Possibly because mentally they feel younger than they are. Younger women often date older men too. When speaking with youngsters please be mindful of the words you use to describe them. Our words have power and can stick with influential youngsters - please don't call them trouble.

Them Shops in Croxteth are my old local shops from when i lived in Sword walk, my wifes Aunti lives round the corner and both her cousins live a few mins walk away, it was sound round there.

I lived in Liverpool for 38 years and couldn't wait to get away. I finally got away and moved to the Manchester area for the last 5 years and I got to say I really want to get back to Liverpool as it's such an amazing place compared to where I am now. The people are so much better in Liverpool. I recommend everyone going to Liverpool for a shopping spree and you will notice the difference believe me.

I was brought up in Liverpool and I still love the city even though I don't live there anymore. My parents are scousers and I lived in Croxteth, it's good and bad ,but isn't any major city now. I now live near Manchester and Liverpool is a far safer place than Manchester, just ask Charlie Veitch ;-)
When you come out of that shop. those houses opposite was the site of The Dog and Gun Pub, to your left where the are two separate rows of Houses stood a Big Police Station, so much as changed since I lived their in the 1960s we had Dwerry House Football Pitches that span from St Swithens Comp to Dwerry House Lane, there must have been 40 pitches, and by Cartmel Terrace was a Running Track. I attended Gillmoss Infants and Croxteth Comp which was two schools separated by the River Alt. The Most happiest time of my Life.

I went to quarry bank too (calderstones now) near Christmas they always had a 30 foot Christmas tree in the main hall, left in 2015

Always found Liverpool England’s friendliest city. It does have some very rough areas (Kirkdale, Walton, Kenny etc.) but between gangs normally

All I heard was bad things and when I went everyone was polite, warm and friendly with good humour.
I was brought up in Liverpool and I still love the city even though I don't live there anymore. My parents are scousers and I lived in Croxteth, it's good and bad ,but isn't any major city now. I now live near Manchester and Liverpool is a far safer place than Manchester, just ask Charlie Veitch ;-)

When you come out of that shop. those houses opposite was the site of The Dog and Gun Pub, to your left where the are two separate rows of Houses stood a Big Police Station, so much as changed since I lived their in the 1960s we had Dwerry House Football Pitches that span from St Swithens Comp to Dwerry House Lane, there must have been 40 pitches, and by Cartmel Terrace was a Running Track.
I attended Gillmoss Infants and Croxteth Comp which was two schools separated by the River Alt.
