It is amazing to see a 98 year old out and about. My nanna is hopefully soon to be 101, but in a care home and very well looked after. She did get the royal congratulations card and invitation.
Liverpool is not a rough city not at all, and the crime that does happen is between gangs usually money and drug related. Even the criminals respect wider public and keep it between themselves. You could walk through Liverpool alone at night and you’re perfectly safe. Liverpool is an anti establishment city so the media tends to always throw shade onto us. It’s easily the best city in the U.K.
Yeah I actually worked in Huyton back in 2007 and everyone I met was great and very warm. There were some gangs in the area but nobody ever gave me any trouble at all. And I loved the city it had a great vibe about it. I agree the best city in the UK

I would say that somehow Liverpool is bucking the trend to the rest of the country. I've never had a customer (taxi) who have had a bad experience and the City is getting huge investment. I love it.❤

I was in Liverpool city centre a few years ago. I stopped to look at map I'd printed out and someone approached me asking if I needed directions. It was much appreciated, and hasn't happened anywhere else.

I was born in Liverpool. I went to Dovedale Rd School and Quarry Bank. The same schools as all the Beatles except Ringo! Liverpool was a shady place in the eighties and nineties. It then received a lot of investment from the EU and ithey revamped the place with a real airport and the city centre was completely upgraded. It's a special place, I'm happy watching this from Spain!

Stayed near the river the other year for a weekend and went round all the pubs and did the Beatles tour. Had a great time. Met some right characters in the pubs.
Liverpool is not dangerous. The statistics speak for themselves. The City is predominantly working class, warm and friendly. Yes, it does have a problem with organised crime so naturally with that comes difficulties but for the most part it is a very safe place.
I'm from Liverpool.... It's not rough any more..... Not exceptionally.......it used to be 80s 90s yeah....not now....just normal city dangerous now. Nothing out of the ordinary. Great place.
I lived in Liverpool all my life until I left to move up north a year ago. Anfield where I lived used to be very rough in the 90s/2000s but from the 2010s onwards it’s gotten a lot better
The friendlier cities usually feel safer to me too cos the people seem to have better empathy since it's a natural by product of friendliness. And empathy makes you feel safer. The crime rates may not always translate to our experience but often people that don't properly know a city spread misinformation about it
Liverpool, for all its problems of willful neglect , underinvestment, and poverty, remains one of my favorite places. great people , and nowhere near as dangerous as people from the home counties claim. in 20 years here, I've had trouble ONCE, from a drunk fella at 3am in town, and it was resolved when some bus driver stopped and intervened to end the issue. i walked round day and night , all areas, been all over

Them Shops in Croxteth are my old local shops from when i lived in Sword walk, my wifes Aunti lives round the corner and both her cousins live a few mins walk away, it was sound round there.
After living in some of the roughest places on the planet, I moved from Puerto Rico to Liverpool to retire. It is one of the most peaceful places I've lived and Scousers, like people in most 'earthy' places, take you into their hearts and homes . . . . as long as one doesn't adopt airs and graces!
I love what you are doing. I have a couple of comments. 15 year old girls in the UK also get hit on by older men who are British. I know because I was one once. That's not something that only foreign men do! Older men fancy younger women and girls. Possibly because mentally they feel younger than they are. Younger women often date older men too. When speaking with youngsters please be mindful of the words you use to describe them. Our words have power and can stick with influential youngsters - please don't call them trouble.

Liverpool and Glasgow are by far the best cities in the uk, never had a problem in either city and have been visiting them for many years, friendly people, great pubs.

When you come out of that shop. those houses opposite was the site of The Dog and Gun Pub, to your left where the are two separate rows of Houses stood a Big Police Station, so much as changed since I lived their in the 1960s we had Dwerry House Football Pitches that span from St Swithens Comp to Dwerry House Lane, there must have been 40 pitches, and by Cartmel Terrace was a Running Track. I attended Gillmoss Infants and Croxteth Comp which was two schools separated by the River Alt. The Most happiest time of my Life.

I was brought up in Liverpool and I still love the city even though I don't live there anymore. My parents are scousers and I lived in Croxteth, it's good and bad ,but isn't any major city now. I now live near Manchester and Liverpool is a far safer place than Manchester, just ask Charlie Veitch ;-)

I attended Gillmoss Infants and Croxteth Comp which was two schools separated by the River Alt.

I was brought up in Liverpool and I still love the city even though I don't live there anymore. My parents are scousers and I lived in Croxteth, it's good and bad ,but isn't any major city now. I now live near Manchester and Liverpool is a far safer place than Manchester, just ask Charlie Veitch ;-)
