For the breeder this was such a horrible thing that she offered tho annulate the purchase of the dog. Just because the nose now had some pink/white and wasn’t all black.
My 12 year old Aussie has medical issues now but, has been the best, loving dog we have ever had. @@sindylouwho5781 pretty sure injury to a working breed's tail isn't outdated. You're the same person who would take a 6 month old puppy to a vet for pediatric spays/neuters. Odds are that same vet supports and performs declaws on cats, too.

This isn't even going into discussion of injuries gained on the farm. Tails smashed, caught either by cattle, sheep, horses, other animals or equipment, bitten, trampled, etc. Many people get reputably bred dogs from ethical, reputable breeders. BYB's are generally the ones to leave tails intact as a marketing scheme. Tail injuries are one of the number one issues with working dogs. A breeder has zero way of knowing if a dog will end up going into a working home/environment until after the litters temperaments have been tested at 7 weeks of age. In other breeds, such as Dobermans, where docking and cropping both ears and tails is required, it's done for a reason. These breeds are often plagued by chronic, nasty ear infections and tail injuries as, once again, these dogs are primarily a working breed. And often go into working homes. I would rather get a well bred puppy from a reputable breeder who docks and/or crops as per breed standard because they understand their fucking breed, than a BYB who markets to people like you who would turn around and spay or neuter a dog pediatrically before they've even finished maturing. Which, most breeds mature at 2 years old. That, or people like you generally declaw a cat because their precious furniture is being torn up, due to idiotic lazy morons refusing to take the time to train said cat to use scratching posts and trees. Either that, or the cat has nowhere else to scratch because the owner is a selfish asshole, so he's forced to do it on furniture. I’ve had 2 Aussies, and I can definitely tell you they instinctively stick with their pack (much more than many other breeds would) but you do have to teach them early on to come back once you call them because they are very adventurous (specially from 6 months to 36 months)
You know. I feel better hearing it's most likely a phase! Lol our mini is smart...until he's dumb haha. He learns tricks and such quickly, but can turn those ears right off when he'd rather Not come back to me. I want him to be safe and be able to be off leash, get a good run in, etc. But he does end up back on the leash when he decides to ignore me for too long. He's also unneutured and I assume that would be part of that.
I have a mini blue merle Aussie, he for sure loves exercise, one thing you mentioned about them running off, they always come back. I have to believe it has something to do with them being person dogs, they never leave the owner, they always come back. Mine chased two deer, was way out of sight, he came back though. So that should tell you something about the breed.
We have a border aussie that we adopted at 2 years old. She was surprisingly already socialized and loves other dogs! She gets so excited when she knows we are going to a play date.
I have started my research on Mini Aussies, this would be the first dog i have ever picked out that i really wanted and did real research on. It'll still be a few months till I am ready to purchse. I do want to go for a puppy so i can train and acclimate it to how i want her to do things the first time, like you said puppys just have to learn something, not forget and learn again or a new way. I am so excited. I am a bit allergic but i feel like with brushing everyday and maybe grooming with shorter haircuts, i live on the Oregon Coast, it doesnt get that cold really, ill be okay with my allergies, especially if i get as a puppy so my body can adjust. your vidoes are really what have hooked me onto these dogs, and i plan to watch as many videos and reearch a ton before putting down money, but i am so excited!! thank you for posting, i super appreciate it!!
Our mini is 3 years 6 mos. He is gray, black and white with hints of tan, and his eyes are just like Frankie's. He is still shy to other dogs, though. We're trying to get him around more dogs. We love him!
always love watching your videos, i just got a black tri aussie. he’s the sweetest. frankie is such a beautiful pup! and you guys have a great bond :) thank you for your videos!!!
Nice video! We just got a Black Tri Mini Aussie 2 months ago. She's great! We're still trying to get her used to going for walks and not barking at everything and everyone. She's a spaz, but she's a sweetheart.
One thing I did with Frankie when I trained him for walks especially when he was scared of buses and loud noises. I would go to a somewhat busy street, wait for a bus to go by and then when it did, I would just feed him treats to it distracts him from worrying about the bus. And after a few times of doing that, he was desensitized to the noise
As soon as you said Conroy Pit i knew you must be in Ottawa! Great place! I miss my Radar (blue merle Aussie mix) so much. But he lives with his Daddy now.
I have two Aussies now. Both are girls and from the same dad, but a different mother. They had a rough start at introduction because my first one gets stressed around other dogs since she was attacked by a neighbor’s dog. But now a month in, they love each other. My first is a mini and my newest one is a regular and the regular looks after the mini. She’s even gotten her so much better with other dogs. It was the best decision, especially since they love to just run outside and chase each other for hours. They’re both the same as the two in the videos. Finley is a blue merle and Oakley is a red tri
I literally mentioned over the phone how much of a good boi my aussie is - and now this is in my recommended. Kinda weird that my phone was spying but this is a good channel so I subbed.
I have a mini Australian Shepherd/poodle cross (you'd never guess he has poodle in him) named Gus and he is the love of my life. Such an amazing breed!
I had a jealous dog as a kid. I'd had him from day 1, and he was my constant companion. There was one time I was getting beat up, and I was yelling for help, and he heard me and came running and (he was a Chihuahua/terrior mix) jumped and launched himself at my attacker, managed to bite his face, and when my attacker ran off, he just kept licking me. But yes, he was very jealous of other dogs, and would not let his littermate near me.
what a cool park. I am on 3 acres that my 5 minis play on. I also have 3 chihuahuas and 2 great pyrenees. I have my own private dog park. lol. Aussies are very "aloof" but, yes, afraid is sad. You have beautiful dogs.
Both r really cute and love the colors they have. Different personality help with them, too, I think. U have great video's and I learn more about the breed. I will get one soon I think. Thanks for the care u put into the video's also.
My mini aussie is a RUGRAT in the best way possible, and he loooves playing with other dogs. We exposed him to all kinds a sizes of dogs at such a young age, and we made sure to socialize him as well because we tend to have a lot of family gatherings that I plan to bring him along to.
I too have a merle miniature Aussie (American shepherd) named Frankie but a female. Named for her Frank Sinatra eyes. Everyone falls in love with her and she shows off her frisbee skills and they are truly amazed
My dog absolutely gets jealous of my cat. I acquired my cat 3 years before my dog, which is weird. If I play with my cat my dog will whine and eventually come over and scare the cat away. She is never aggressive, just a big baby. It’s been almost 8 years and that hasn’t changed. Basically, I’m saying there is totally a such thing as jealous dogs lol because I live with one. Though I think this stems from how young she was when I got her. She is a personal rescue and was 3 weeks when I took her in. I weaned her myself and I think that’s where her childlike jealousy in the home comes from. She is only like this with the cat, my other fur kid lol
OMG! This is like me and my roommate's story! She has a 7-year-old mini and I have a 6-month-old puppy and the personalities are day and night! Obviously, part of the age difference, but also their personalities are different!
I have a 5.5 year old toy aussie who protects me around only certain people/dogs. He will bark or get aggressive or sit in front of me. But it's only certain people/dogs. We have 2 other did in the house that he can play with just fine but also get aggressive around food (I think the older dogs taught him that though). I love the bond you and Frankie have. I enjoy your videos! I hope to learn more about training and the things I can do with my aussie. He is like my therapy dog! I wish we had parks like you to go to!!
I have an Aussie at home. Adopted 7 years ago!! Tri-color full size Australia Shepherd. In my opinion, the smartest breed of all. She is even bilingual!!
okay so I got to play with her she was super high energy but she would sit with me in my arms it was soooo cute. I went to Petland and the cost was like 5000 dollars so my mom says we need to think about it more, if you have any question don't be scared to reply and ask! updating soon on what dog i get
@@Thecoolesttdy you should be able to find a breeder that sells Aussies for cheaper than $5000. I just got a pedigree standard Aussie and she was $1800. No reason why a pup should be that much 😅
@@JohanTemkinPB yeah you're right, she did come with insurance puppy for life guarantee crate supplements training for like food toys and basically everything you would need but it was still WAY to much. I'll try to find a different breeder.
I think we have Frankie’s brother. Same coat, same eyes, same age, and same personality. We walk every morning during the week and he is never on a leash. I only put a leash on if we come around others as not all people like dogs. Enjoy your life with Frankie as I am sure he is an awesome companion like our Blu is
Great Video. We have a mini aussie(not so mini). He is 3 and AWESOME. He is great with other dogs. He loves people. Put the time in early and it will be a great partnership.
I have a red tri mini Aussie and it’s so adorable to see others, I only see blue merles or red merles. My dogs name is legend and he just turned 13 months. I can’t wait for his coat to fully grow out.
@@FrankieToTheMoon thank u, there’s a video I made of him on my channel documenting his growth up to 8 months if u would like to see what he looks like.
We lost our corgi, who helped raise our mini Aussie. We adopted a 9 yo black lab / blue heeler mix. There is a jealous bone in Holly the Aussie, but the lab doesn’t care. It’s taken a year for the lab to really adapt to us. She is never headstrong, not pushy. The two play well now.
Hey, I just realized you're in Ottawa! So cool! I have a Mini Aussie named Murphy. A total wiggle butt and the love of my life. He turned 10 in August and hasn't slowed down at all, people are constantly amazed when I tell them how old he is. He is a Tri Coloured (black, white, brown), with brown eyes. He likes other dogs but gets really confused by aggressive dogs. His only issue is "separation anxiety". I've had him since he was 10 weeks old and he is a confirmed mummy suck. Smartest dog I've ever known and I love him to bits ❤. Great site btw.
Ohhh my gosh I believe they DO get jealous!! I bought 2 siblings of a litter. One female for my mom and 3 days later I HAD TO go get one for myself because i was hooked! I bought her brother. They are a bit over a year old now and whenever I go see my mom little Rye (the female) always wiggles over to me and wants attention and boooyyy my Rotie IMMEDIATELY runs over and bulldozes her around growling and play biting while hks sister is getting my attention! He goes CRAZY! Haha its soo cute! I always tell him hes getting jealous and squeeze him😁 Absolutely LOVE aussies! The female is soooo swweet! Shes definitely on the timid side but not her brother! Hes very outgoing, loves everyone especially kids but can get pretty vicious twards wild cridders. I am convinced I will never own another breed. Love em!
Hi just found you! Your pups are beautiful. We just got an Aussie, 14 weeks old Named her Scarlett. Have had her for only 3 days. She has handled the transition beautifully. She was brought into a family of 9. Youngest is 13. And a 9 mo old Golden Retriever. Day 1 she had first car ride, first bath, endured hair dryer, nails clipped, held her own with the much bigger Retriever. She hasn’t displayed any destruction behavior. Is social and is recognizing demands. Our only issue is potty training. In the time that we’ve had her, we have not had a successful potty outside. She has started to go to the door but when she is taken out she does nothing. Last night she slept thru the night, was taken out first thing this morning. No go. She held it for 2 hours after she got up. We had her out most of that time. Do you have any suggestions?
I have a mini aussie that is 5 years old. He started out much more willing to play with other dogs and shortly after age 2, he stopped being willing to make new friends. Interested to see if you will be able to keep Frankie as open as he is now.
I have an Aussie (Hiro) and my housemate has a Japanese Spitz (Tori). When I first picked up my puppy from the airport, and came back home, tori smelt Hiro on me when she hadn't even seen him before. She instantly started crying and was definitely jealous. Ive played with other dogs before but never gotten that reaction.
@@FrankieToTheMoon definitely jealousy. She did not react well to seeing him for the first time despite us trying to make the transition smoother. They get along perfectly now thankfully
Your aussies are just like ours, personality-wise but our blue Merle is the older dog. Our red-tri, Chestnut, is jealous and will often butt in for rubs if Willow is getting attention. 😆
so happy i found you guys we have a 5 year old girl aussie that reminds me of your indy and a 3 year old boy aussie who’s fun like franky. problem is both our aussies dog reactive especially our 3 year old boy who’s been kicked outta petsmart camp and turned down by another camp. he “hates” dogs - nipped 2 neighbors dogs! i don’t know what kind of trainer to hire for this. 🤷🏻♀️ and our 3 year old girl barks at everything - especially my husband. it’s very stressful here 🥲.
I lost my aussie back in September of 2019 and I've longed to have another aussie ever since. Unfortunately, my living situation doesn't suit an aussie well right now. Someday, I'll have another wiggle butt.
Wow! I'm impressed! My Aussie is fear aggressive. She don't trust anyone, with the exception of my son and I. Other than that she is really sweet and smart as hell! She was 7 months when I rescued her from a co-worker. She's 5 years old and she still behaves the same way, but I'm not going to give up on her. I have 2 other dogs and three cats and she interacts just fine with them. Any suggestions on correcting this behavior?
Subscribed today and enjoyed your video ❣️ We have 2 male mini Aussie’s (red tri is 4and blue merle is 1)and we LOVE this breed❣️❣️❣️They are so loving and are velcro doggies😍
Socialize (or expose, as he said😂) them early. I owned standard Aussies over 15 years. I had them on rural property and right in the middle of New Orleans proper. As with a lot of dogs, when my female had pups she started with dog aggression but that is normal bc the pups were still around.
What you said about the jealousy of dogs is totally true because now that I think about it, my step dad’s German Shepard will get mad at my dog (mini ausie) if I’m petting them both at the same time. I’m realizing it’s BECAUSE I give the German Shepard so many dang treats and now I’m like 😂 man I knew she’d be using me all this time.
Love seeing aussies doing their thing. They did not look that mini to me. How big are they? I have two standard aussies and watching these two gorgeous dogs is just like seeing my two play at the park!
We adopted a 6-month old Aussie last summer. We already have a mixed breed dog (we’re not sure but he probably has some boxer, Aussie, and husky in him). I’m not sure about jealousy but our older dog certainly becomes vocal and has to be involved if we’re playing with the Aussie (which is just fine because the only thing funner than playing with one dog is playing with two). I’m also not sure if the Aussie is just smart or if having an older dog around helps, but it’s been a lot easier to train the new Aussie than it was training the older dog. Both are super sweet and smart though and have grown inseparable. They’re sleeping next to each other as I write this.
Hi! I have a 14 week old mini Australian shepherd puppy and it almost seems like she always needs to be on a leash when she's outside. Sometimes she'll try to pull us into the street when cars are driving by, or when she wants to eat something like a leaf. Will that ever change and when can you start trusting your dog?
Yes, but it does require work! 14 weeks old is a brand new pup experiencing the world for the first time. If she pulls, it doesnt mean pull back, but just stand your ground

So, shove off with your whiny rhetoric about something you know nothing about. Your ignorance is showing. Ignorance isn't bliss in the animal world.

I’ve had 2 Aussies, and I can definitely tell you they instinctively stick with their pack (much more than many other breeds would) but you do have to teach them early on to come back once you call them because they are very adventurous (specially from 6 months to 36 months)
Yes I completely agree! I taught Frankie when he was a puppy to come back and now he is always looking for me / my command
@@FrankieToTheMoon how did you teach him I need tips
Awwww, Indie looks exactly like my 16 y/o red tri Honey. I just love these Aussies!!! Thank you for your posts!
We have a border aussie that we adopted at 2 years old. She was surprisingly already socialized and loves other dogs! She gets so excited when she knows we are going to a play date.
Awww that’s so amazing to hear!
I have an Aussie doodle and he is crazy and then super chill
Aussie are the best! I have a red tri standard Aussie. She loves to go hiking in the woods with us, loves people too. She's just the sweetest.
OMg i love frankie and your togethers bond AAAAHHH
he's my best friend!
always love watching your videos, i just got a black tri aussie. he’s the sweetest. frankie is such a beautiful pup! and you guys have a great bond :) thank you for your videos!!!
@@FrankieToTheMoon Thanks! I will give that a try!
I adopted a blue Merle mini Aussie from a breeder and she’s very crazy and we’re training her!
I am getting my mini Aussie in a week and your videos have been so helpful!!
so excited for you!
Great great video. I am adopting a 3 year old mini Australian Shepherd. She is going to be bred once more and then I get her. So excited!
“Mother like daughter” I gasped
My dog was blinded by an "off the lease dog" and it only takes once. I spent the last 2 years of her life, loving her, and being her caregiver.
Before to adopt an Aussie, you have to check it with a veterinary 😉😉
I literally mentioned over the phone how much of a good boi my aussie is - and now this is in my recommended. Kinda weird that my phone was spying but this is a good channel so I subbed.
I have a mini Australian Shepherd/poodle cross (you'd never guess he has poodle in him) named Gus and he is the love of my life. Such an amazing breed!
aw sounds like a cutie!
First video I’m watching of yours, I subscribed in the first minute *adorable* 🐶
Yes dogs are able to be jealous of affection and its not related to food.
Watching your vid today.Wish you a Happy New Year 2022 with love from Singapore
Super cute doggie!
Love your channel man! Just got an aussiedoodle, and just like your Frankie, he carries around a stick every time he’s outside lmao
Ahah they just get so bored so they make their own jobs
Omg mine is the same! Carries sticks bigger than she is!
I just found your channel. I'm learning a lot from you. My wife and I just got 2 litter mate mini Aussies. They are 9 weeks old. Wish us luck.
I too have a merle miniature Aussie (American shepherd) named Frankie but a female. Named for her Frank Sinatra eyes. Everyone falls in love with her and she shows off her frisbee skills and they are truly amazed
I love mini Aussie! They always come to my work and they are so smart! And Frankie and indie are so cute!! ♥️
They are amazing little fellas
She is only
like this with the cat, my other fur kid lol
OMG! This is like me and my roommate's story! She has a 7-year-old mini and I have a 6-month-old puppy and the personalities are day and night! Obviously, part of the age difference, but also their personalities are different!
Shared, love your Aussies.
thank you!
Love your channel. I have had two australian shepherds and they are the best! So smart. And yes, need a job and exercise.
Thanks so much!!!
I have an Aussie at home. Adopted 7 years ago!! Tri-color full size Australia Shepherd. In my opinion, the smartest breed of all. She is even bilingual!!
im going to see a red Aussie tomorrow wish me luck!!! im gonna check back in and tell u guys how it went
okay so I got to play with her she was super high energy but she would sit with me in my arms it was soooo cute.

@@maggies9418 omg that's terrible I didn't know, I'm so glad I didn't buy from them. I feel bad for the puppies.
Soon I going to have a puppy Australia shepherd. I can’t wait
I think we have Frankie’s brother. Same coat, same eyes, same age, and same personality. We walk every morning during the week and he is never on a leash. I only put a leash on if we come around others as not all people like dogs. Enjoy your life with Frankie as I am sure he is an awesome companion like our Blu is
That is awesome! Sounds like you have a good relationship with Blu - who knows maybe they are long lost brothers haha
We just adopted a 4 year old from a breeder release program. ❤
Great Video. We have a mini aussie(not so mini). He is 3 and AWESOME. He is great with other dogs. He loves people. Put the time in early and it will be a great partnership.
my Aussie just passed away 2 months ago sure miss him. his name was Sonny what a fantastic dog,
Aw rip :(
I have a red tri mini Aussie and it’s so adorable to see others, I only see blue merles or red merles. My dogs name is legend and he just turned 13 months. I can’t wait for his coat to fully grow out.
awww Legend sounds legendary !
Really cool
Love em!
They are both beautiful Mini Aussie’s. I have one that looks a lot like Frankie but he is a red mural. Mine just turned 6.😎
I have an Australian Shepherd named Frankie too! Probably why this was on my recommendations. Indie (?) looks like my Frankie.
Aw that is so cute! this was like meant for you
Frankie is just like my Peaches in personality
Love your video man I’m definitely subscribing 🤙
Appreciate it
Hi just found you!
I’m getting a rescue Australian Shepard mix tomorrow 😁😁
Aww cant wait to see the new addition to the family

I have a mini aussie that is 5 years old. He started out much more willing to play with other dogs and shortly after age 2, he stopped being willing to make new friends. Interested to see if you will be able to keep Frankie as open as he is now.
I have an Aussie (Hiro) and my housemate has a Japanese Spitz (Tori). When I first picked up my puppy from the airport, and came back home, tori smelt Hiro on me when she hadn't even seen him before. She instantly started crying and was definitely jealous. Ive played with other dogs before but never gotten that reaction.
Well sometimes jealousy can be confused with excitement too! But it is tough to tell
ahaha that perfectly describes frankie and indie
Hi buddies ,happy new year 2024🎉💚🐾
so happy i found you guys
we have a 5 year old girl aussie that reminds me of your indy and a 3 year old boy aussie who’s fun like franky.
problem is both our aussies dog reactive especially our 3 year old boy who’s been kicked outta petsmart camp and turned down by another camp. he “hates” dogs - nipped 2 neighbors dogs!
i don’t know what kind of trainer to hire for this. 🤷🏻♀️
and our 3 year old girl barks at everything - especially my husband. it’s very stressful here 🥲.
I lost my aussie back in September of 2019 and I've longed to have another aussie ever since. Unfortunately, my living situation doesn't suit an aussie well right now. Someday, I'll have another wiggle butt.
You have a fence? They require free roam and a fence at your home. But if ya take em to the park off leash they’re most happy! 🐶 And toys too!
Another Aussie with a Wrangler owner! Twinssss
I think it’s the law to have a jeep and an Aussie haha

Wow thank you so so much! Aw your aussies sound lovely
Frankie is DA best!!!! 😍♥️
I agree!
Love your videos and watching your videos from Kentucky The Bluegrass State !
Socialize (or expose, as he said😂) them early. I owned standard Aussies over 15 years. I had them on rural property and right in the middle of New Orleans proper. As with a lot of dogs, when my female had pups she started with dog aggression but that is normal bc the pups were still around.
Keep up the videos. I love your videos.
Glad you like them!
Great video and encouraging because I have 1 year old with at least as much energy as Frankie🤦🏻♀️🤣

Ugh. My mini Aussie. She is so anxious 🙇🏼♀️
You and your girl friend are super cute together!! I love Frankie and indie ❤️❤️❤️
aw thanks!
