Suggestions: Pokemon with "fixed" typings: Cloister: Water/Rock (I also proposed this before) Golduck: Water/Psychic Kingler: Water/Bug (The word "bug" often enough is used to refer to arthropods) Marowak: Ground/Fighting (I proposed this before) Pinsir: (Bug/Fighting) Pokemon with moves they should have: Growlithe with Growl and Fire Spin
@@bronsonneill2944 No offense but... 1) Why should Arcanine be dragon? 2) These videos here are played in Pokemon Yellow; Gen 1: Gen 1 didn't have the following types: Steel, Fairy and Dark.
I sincerely do not see the Fighting-type helping Pinsir at all. Not only will it be brutalized by Flying-type moves (there aren't many, but there are a few!), but it just gives it a weakness to Psychic that will scourge it against Koga and Sabrina and the later Rivals with Kadabra/Alakazam.
Should have made Bone Club Ghost-Type for this. Not only would it have given it some decent Ghost STAB, but it works with the fact Ghost is physical. Plus, it's an attack with a piece of a decayed carcass, so you can't say it's thematically inconsistent :P
I need this done again, but with a ground ghost type, and a changed up moveset equivalent to what the ghastly line gets. Which is mostly just night shade I guess.
Marowak getting a Ghost/Fire variant in Gen 7 was a hype moment for me. And the fire dancer motif was pretty choice. Ghost in Gen 1 basically had no weaknesses except Lick. Its resistances were pretty uncommon types to come up against, since Poison and Bug didn't have many offensive moves either. Its immunities are pretty strong early, but later in the game Normal and Fighting seem to fall off, so I predict it will start pretty well but struggle down the stretch as non-Normal moves become more staple. Its lack of effective boosts and BBG will make extra battles a necessity, and probably lots of them. Outcome was pretty much as expected. Easy early game, but the struggles started basically even at the mid-game and kept snowballing. Typing can only do so much, it seems.
I always thought the cubone line to be very odd that it is just a solo pokemon type. Like I felt it should of been a Ground/Fighting Type once it evolves as a reflection of its pokemon lore of it overcoming its despair of the loss of its mother.
Arcanine with the fire/dragon type, fire/normal type, or fire/fighting would probably be a really cool run, i seen another comment about a fire/dragon arcanine and id figure id try and recommend it as well as a few other suggestions since why not
Question: Why should Arcanine be dragon? Nothing about it seems draconic to me; It'd make more sense to me to make Nidoking, Nidoqueen and Rhydon dragon-types.
This run shows off how valuable STAB is. A good number of the headache spots would have been less painful with that 50% power boost. Ghost is definitely a good type to have in Gen I, but on its own can't salvage low stats, especially low Speed and Special.
I really like the concept of these kind of runs, exploring these type changes with certain pokemon, some aren't benefiting that much from these changes,Marowak was one of these cases. As a decent pokemon, with lowish speed ,an okay attack, the ghost type hiders it's results, compared to the disobedient sd Marowak. 😮 But I think that the final nail in the coffin was it's low special, Lorelei, Erika were basically it's major time loss. I would like to see a normal Rhydon or a normal hypno in play.😊
A type change suggestion Arbok: Posion/Dark (I know dark type didn’t exist in gen 1 so just maybe dragon type but dark fits it better in my opinion) Magmar: Fire/posion (weezing could also get this typing) Blastoise: Water/steel
This pokemon really should have been the 1st ghost normal type and boomerang should have been a ghost move. Give a reason for ghost to be physical in Gen 1.
fissure alone in gen 1 is enough to beat the game, just max its pp with pp up and stock up on x -accuracies and 99% of fights are done. the only fight you will have to worry about are flying because ground moves don't work, and psychic moves as in gen 1 they one hit ko most ghost types.
Is pure rock Onix still just as bad as Rock/Ground Onix? Before they were fossils, they were just regular Pokemon: How do pure water Omastar/Kabutops and pure flying Aerodactyl do? Have we done non-flying Doduo/Dodrio yet? Can this mod do evolution lines or do you have to start with the fully evolved version?
Got a mid / late game moveset question. Was there any reason to keep Tail Whip nearly as you did? Hyper Beam may have helped against the Venonats in Koga's gym and it felt weird watching it stay over Ice Beam for Fire Blast.
As a first run, and without any boosting moves, I thought there could be a situation where a Tail Whip + EQ or Hyper Beam could have been significant. Overall, it was not.
What if Eevee kept the normal type when it evolved? Vaporeon = Normal/Water, Flareon = Normal/Fire, Jolteon = Normal/Electric? Would normal stab do them any favors? (Flareon in particular because of his lackluster fire moves)
I didn't use Ghost/Ground because outside of Lorelei's Lapras using Confuse Ray, all other battles are functionally the same due to how the AI looks at type effectiveness
It's really unsettling how your cam is like a fraction of a second desynced from your audio Is it just impossible to fix? I member this always having been a thing Also, the concept of a normal move in Mega Punch as "Coverage" is hilarious :D
Did pure ghost because otherwise the results would be identical to a normal Marowak, Gen 1 AI basically just looks at one type for decisions and Ground has so many wealnesses
Suggestions:
Pokemon with "fixed" typings:
Cloister: Water/Rock (I also proposed this before)
Golduck: Water/Psychic

We could always do a later Gen run someday that has the newer types. I can't agree more about But/Fighting Pinsir

Yeah, if I did this as a ROM hack, I could make that change, it would be cool as a ghost-type move

I think it needs Hypnosis then or Confuse Ray as well.

Yeah, moveset trumps typing any day. A solid Pokemon can get massively improved by a type change, but weak movesets are always bad

Yes!
Tombstoner does have a random chance to hit for 420 on crit. Otherwise it's 69 power 100% accuracy and 40 PP... That move was OP
Perfect, let's get it coded in lol
Too bad it can't be grass ground in gen 1 lol

in gen 1 x accuracy buffs ohko moves to always hit 100% of the time.

Yeah, X accuracy is the main reason for no item solo runs. X Accuracy in particular has lots of broken mechanics with wrapping moves and OHKO moves
Pokemon with moves that restore all pp between battles no pokemon centers. Get a healing move or only use potions
