I love how you left out that Mexico invaded the republic of Texas 3 times in the 9 years of being it's own country. That's what made them go bankrupt. Also all the anglos that settled in Texas were Mexican citizens and half of the revolt included tejonos fighting against Santana. Also Mexico rebelled against Santana for two years before the Texas revolution started.
brain4breakfast What accent do you have? It’s so cool!
You fallout players! Guess what?!?! THE NEW CALIFORNIA REPUBLIC IS ON ITS WAY!!!
Hello from texas
Have you thought about doing a vid about Canada's provinces? We are having a near crisis of Confederacy right now between BC and Alberta and it seems to only be heating up with our PM and federal leader of the NDP (the two parties in charge of each province) also taking a major hands off approach. We rarely get noticed by folks but be super fun to see your animation style go over it :)
Mexico: *loses control of the North*
USA: it's free real estate.
I wonder if the US should give the territory back.
Alec Norton Probably not because the people living there have no interest joining Mexico (I am a person living there). I'm not even sure that the illegal immigrants here have any interest in the area joining Mexico, if you're going to play that card.
obi0914 I consider myself more Texan and Mexican Equally however I don't really care about the american title.
It would be silly to give back territory that mexico only loosely controlled nearly 200 years ago haha, especially when the people living in it most certainly would not benefit from it, or want it.
You act as if conquering land wasn't a thing for all of history. How far back we going with the reset button?

Texas and California both share the same indomitable spirit of the Wild West- rugged individuality, freedom, and a totally unique style. Somebody can look, act, and dress 'Californian'. and somebody can look, dress, and act 'Texan'. Both states have their own paradigms and identities, various distinct geographical, cultural, and economic regions, and an enormous amount of territory and population. Essentially, while still being mostly American at heart, California and Texas are their own nations.
The perfect 2020 vision nations in spirit unfortunately ):
Marlon Quintana-Nieto trying to bring down california while boasting about texas being a country for a decade is just downright toxic. No one said anything to provoke you so you shouldnt act like they did
@Marlon Quintana-Nieto When I say "nation", I don't mean "nation-state", like how most people do when they say it. I mean "nation".
Marlon Quintana-Nieto why would the world care about a country that lasted a decade. It could’ve been 5 seconds and nothing would’ve changed
@@sonicxburner To be fair, there's a pretty substantial difference between being independent fora few weeks, and being an actual country that lasted 10 years, that had their own currency, fought their own wars, had multiple elections, etc. California's independence was more of a technicality than anything, especially when considering it had no civil structure and was created only by a few dozen landowners, in a tiny chunk of northern California, for the purpose of disturbing Mexico's presence in the area during the Mexican-American war

texas: *breathes independently*
mexico: Wait, thats illegal.
Hmm, no more like
Texas: breathes slavery
Mexico: Wait, that’s ilegal.
diego contreras Slavery was actually one of the smallest factors of the Texan Revolution. The bigger ones included their exorbitant tax rates and the denial of equal rights compared to what the Mexican government defined as “true” Mexican citizens. Secession was a net benefit for everyone living in Texas at the time.
@@texantucker ...no, slavery played a larger role than you think. While not the largest factor, you can't deny that the right to own slaves was a key part of the Texan Constitution, since that clause (along with Mexico still claiming Texas) prevented Texas from joining the United States for nearly ten years. Most Texan schools don't teach kids this, and only that Mexicans were being jerks. Which admittedly they were, but the American settlers weren't so squeaky clean either.
@@texantucker early American Texans were allowed to live in the region and over time outnumbered the tejanos. More and more Americans settlers came over but when the Mexican govt tried to ban Anglo immigration, they got pissed. I would even say that a good chunk Texans are descendants of illegals (oh the irony). Also the ban on slavery in 1830 by Mexico clashed with the Americans desire to preserve chattel slavery so while not it wasn’t the sole factor for revolution it was important one. Also when you tend to outnumber the native population you feel like you own the place so another part it was the cultural differences and just the lack of respect they had for the Mexican govt.
like any country or nation, it’s history is not black and white.
The Texan revolution was not the Texans standing up for the Mexican govt for moral and just reasons anyone can see that with a little studying. However, Texan individuality today is great but lets remember history through unbiased lens.

Texas and California
Sisters in Nationhood, Sisters in Statehood.
Sisters with 2 completely different Economic and Political Structures and Philosophies that have led to major hate between California and Texas.
Andrew Clements, not even wrong.
thatguy4973
What do you think the Star Represents on the California Flag?
It was put there to associate itself with the Republic of Texas, as they were both American Style Republics that broke away from Mexican Rule. Them both having a lone star was not a mere coincidence, but was intentional. Though it was more California being like "Look Texas we are just like yoooou" rather than anything planned between the two states.
thatguy4973
So thats why I consider them Sisters in Nationhood, as they shared a path to statehood and one tried associating itself with the other.

Spain and then Mexico always underestimated too much to the north, so much so that in fact the state of Coahuila and Texas were the poorest in the whole country. Even today in northern Mexico the culture of our region has not been very promoted, reaching such a point that many believe that we are an empty desert, without indigenous people or culture of our own. It's incredible how in the US, the states interact with each other almost as if they were diferent countries. I'm from Argentina (wich is supposed to be a federal republic) but practicly nobody cares about the governors of the provices or they respective laws, everyone just cares about the central goverment. I think this happens because the capital city of Buenos Aires and it's metropolitan area has about one third of the total population.
Yep! Honestly it used to be far more impressive than this too...the federal government has grown very large since the days of FDR. A lot of people complain American isn't a true 'democracy'...because they're right. The states are supposed to have a lot of independence.
Argentina is just a big city and a desert...
That is exactly how the U.S. is suppossed to be. A republic of smaller states, coming together to form a more perfect union.
But each U.S. state basically is it's own country, although it's more obvious in some than others. :)
I always wondered how foreigners view US states

In Mexico we are taught that settlers from the US came to Texas to work the land but started using slaves from southern US states and since slavery was abolished in Mexico, the government tried to set them free which caused the Alamo and the subsequent war of texan independance.
4:35 "but more about that soon"
Yep, took three years and Kraut to do it
Your videos are honestly some of the best informational videos on UA-cam
>California has technology
>Texas has oil
G8.
Exxon
Texas is more modern. Tf you talking about
spoonkey no. it really isn’t. in almost any field. Tech, not having climate change deniers, etc. The only thing I hate about california is the DMV. fuck the dmv
Seta Entertainment Texas also has wind and beef
spoonkey what are you talking about fuck no it’s not
"Texas has it's own independent energy grid"
Looks at recent events: Well that worked out well for them /s
All who view this video is paying respects
It’s been 2 years and we still remember
RIP B4B
I didn't know this many people love Texas so much. To be honest, I thought were the most hated, but it seems California and New York are. Lol
Probably because mostly Texans looked this up UA-cam bevause Californians dont care about Texas
Texas puts people into space and cures cancer, California builds massive tech companies who seem to have the singular goal of pissing people off and jack ass celebrities who doe the same, and New York trades derivatives of non-differentiable functions then looks all confused when the economy collapses.
poopiosplopjr 2 texas leads in pharmaceutical manufacturing, is the 2nd biggest tech center next to cali, and agricultural hub, and major tourist destination. I miss home 😪 eat some whata for me boys....
I used to hate Texas because Texans outside of Texas are so fucking annoying. It's always "everything's bigger/better in Texas, Texas is so great because... I miss Texas, I'm going back to Texas" blah blah blah, shut up. Texas is pretty great though, but fuck Cali.
@@ozzywoods38 proved my point. Didn't even see your comment until after I wrote mine lol.
It is Ironic how Americans used to immigranted illegally to Mexico
why are you on every video i watch
Gospodin Pederas he da iluminati
Is it really ironic?
I guess one could call it cosmic irony but that still seems like a far stretch there.
HMMMM....... THERE IS ONLY ONE EXPLANATION FOR DIS! MEXICO IS LEARNING FROM DA MASTER!!!!
Hi illuminati
6:52 I’m sure this won’t backfire at all 😂
Incluso acá en México se sintió ese problema.
Man I miss this guy his videos were always amazing rest in peace
My Texas heart is filled with pride
Crick1952 and grease.
And barbecue
Crick 1952 and Dublin doctor pepper .lol
Dammit I’m hungry now
Your heart is filled with blood you tribal idiot.
Being from Texas I love both these states they have their pros and cons but in the end they are both needed in the United States and are pretty beautiful in their own way.
emanuel Miranda You so far have been the only reasonable person here. The majority of people here are just here to jerk off to their guns.
emanuel Miranda This is the only comment that actually makes sense.
Finally, a safe haven from the bonfire that is this comment section. Texans and Californians flinging insults at each other. Why must we fight each other? We are only accomplishing more disunity among the states. People do not change their beliefs from yelling insults at each other, we change belief from thoughtful argument.
Thank you for using Antonín Dvořák - From the New world 🇨🇿🇺🇸😍
Superb symphony.
California and Texas , both have an anglo dad and a mexican mom
Everyone in the comments: *Literally starting World War III in the comments*
Me, a Texan: *Sipping tea* I mean, I don’t really hate any country’s/states, but it’s funny seeing all these debates. *Sips tea*
Also a Texan, and while I wouldn't call it hate, I *would* call it extreme annoyance. Californians stop moving here and voting blue!
That better be sun tea with 5 scoops of sugar.
@@fubarace1027 agreed they cant take their communist idea back to their state, oh wait they cant afford to live there.
The only reason why they move to texas is because the tech jobs are moving to texas
@@Robert53area California is liberal, not communist. That's like saying that Texas is full of incest supporting hicks. Not true. Don't take it to the extreme and call us communist. We are just democratic and Texas is Republican. Also I see many Texans around here, in fact my county votes red.
Me, a Texan: Lets the Texas Republic be free again
Texas has Dairy Queen
We win
Doesn't every state have DQ? You know it isn't some local store right? It is a national chain.
Dairy Queen actually sucks today. Used to be good back in the 1970s.
So does California...
raney150 we have the HEB though
I live in Ca and there is a dairy queen down the street from where i live lol
Daddy district of Columbia loves California and texas equally.
"More obout that one day soon"
I miss you b4b
here in Southern California our power mostly comes from solar and wind farms, out in the mountains in Palm Springs there's a HUGE wind farm and also another huge costal wind farm built right by LAX, most of if not all our energy mainly comes from wind, nuclear, solar and gas
Damn. . . I didn't kno that and I live in southern Cali XD I guess it's cuz I don't really explore much
Fuck, if an earthquake hits again, closer to LA it can break power lines and cause powerouts in LA
Janine May
Hello beautiful
Patrolling the Mojave almost makes you wish for a nuclear winter
Dude that's Nevada, not California!
But when i got this assignment, i hoped there would be more gambling
the mojave is in both states.
cobraglatiator yep
No way! Ain't that a kick in the head
I like how you cover touchy subjects, visually and verbally. Thanks.
Om Shanti to the soul of Mr. brain4breakfast ji and may his soul attain Moksha !
Texas: I’m better!
California: No I’m better!

As you stated, the tech industry is not tied to California’s geography, and because of this, the incredibly high housing costs in Silicon Valley are causing it to slowly move to Texas.
The tech sector wouldn't move to texas
N8ter my guy the tech sector would never move to Texas dont know where you got that idea from
Dynamic it could easily move if housing costs and rising taxes aren't addressed. The politics are also stifling and the middle class exodus from California is eventually going rock the boat.
Dynamic Yes, I doubt it could move completely, but many of the employees are moving, and I’ve seen quite a few offices for tech companies in the few times I’ve visited Austin.
They're also moving a to Indianapolis
Oh, brain4breakfast, how we miss you.
