Well on the Bruce Wayne issue. Its year 2 Batman. its him figuring himself and Batman out. Thats the arch of the movie. He's basically suicidal throughout the movie(I.E him just walking into gunfights) and he finally realizes what Gotham needs when he goes to rescue the people in the water after the fight in the arena. We'll get more B.W in the 2nd and 3rd film
“Suicidal” is the wrong word. He’s closer to fatalistic, meaning he doesn’t really care if he lives or dies.
@@artarealmblazer8452 You got what he meant though right? I guess you did because you pulled a word out of your a$$ that 97% of the population wouldn't understand.
I role my eyes whenever someone doesn’t understand Bruce Wayne’s arc in this film. Absolutely brilliant writing
He's wearing friggin body armour.
Of course he just walks In to gun fire.
*”is that a thing? Has this ever been a thing before?”*
Great question, answer : yes. Matt Reeves drew heavy inspiration from a highly coveted story “The Long Halloween” In which Selena was the daughter of Falcone. Bruce’s opening monologue is from the same source. As well as Thomas Wayne performing surgery on Falcone. I highly recommend giving it a read. Reeves did an excellent job with this iteration. This is exactly everything I could ever want in a Batman film
AND the sequel, dark victory. very very good. nolan drew the whole scarecrow hiding drugs inside of stuff at the docks thing from that book. also has the best robin origin story i've ever seen.
hell, some people dont enjoy comics/reading. There is a two part animated movie that does a pretty good job regarding the same thing. definitely worth a watch for any batman fan or just a superhero/hero fan in general.
Man u earned my respect. A guy who actually knows Batman comics
"Are you all right? Are you dead? No one would blame you if you were."
lol, such an accurate thing to say about Batman: he's not dead until he gives up.
The Riddler as a Zodiac/Jigsaw-esque serial killer was an amazing choice.
Imagine what they'd do with the brutality of Joker.
Being a Pattinson denier in 2022 is embarrassing sir!
Just like Ledger was laughed at.
I love the twist of how the whole time we think Riddler knows Batman is Bruce Wayne even in trailers they confirmed that, but when he starts saying Bruce Wayne he says he's the only one they didn't get thinking Batman was on his side this whole time
Its a grounded Batman movie and its something ive always wanted. Joker is a grounded style. He actually has acid burns everywhere instead of being just covered in makeup like the usual style we've seen. The laugh.. From what ive heard and read, the laugh goes with the take their doing for him where he has some condition where he laughs uncontrollably, which had happened in the comics at one point. It'll be an interesting take on the character.
Joker in this is the only thing I was not a fan of
Best Batman movie we've ever gotten. Its dark. Exactly what I have been wanting. Riddler is a mix of Jigsaw and The Zodiac. Penguin was amazing in the limited time he got. IMO i think the 2nd movie will focus on Penguin and a Hush and Mr.Freeze, while the 3rd film will have Riddlers return and Joker
darkest and most grounded batman, still cant deny the nolan trilogy holds up well
Jigsaw? No, more like John Doe from Se7en.
Pattinson wants court of owls next.
@@juniegyllenhaal3937 could tie them into 2nd movie with Hush and Freeze
Nah Michael Keaton is still better
6:33 He was staring at him because he can relate to the kid.
28:20, Yes in some comics Carmine Falcone is the father.
THE BEST BATMAN MOVIE! I still think TDK is slightly a better film but this is the best Batman. This movie had it all. Amazing acting, arguably the best cinematography in a comic book movie, good storytelling and an amazing score.
Robert Pattinson is an amazing actor and most the general audience think he is a bad actor because they haven’t seen him in his best performances likes in Good Times, The Lighthouse, The Devil All the Time, The King, etc. Paul Dano is also another actor that is always killing it in every role, his acting was crazy in this movie. Every cast was amazing, everyone is perfect in their roles and I can’t wait to see the characters grow and have more development. Matt is going to built something special with this universe. They already confirmed two spin off series one with the Penguin and Arkham Asylum. The Arkham Asylum series is supposed to resemble a horror movie and offer a fresh perspective on the characters incarcerated there, which traditionally consist of villains like the Riddler, Joker, Two-Face, Poison Ivy and co. I literally can’t wait to watch whatever he creates.
I would compare this to Batman begins over tdk cause tdk was a sequel in the trilogy.
@@kingghxstgaming Sure, but at the same time Batman Begins was an origin movie and this wasn’t, it’s hard to compare them. The Batman is better in my opinion, but yeah…everyone tries to put The Batman against TDK, that’s how good this movie is that they have to compare it to the sequel that already had developed characters and a set up story.
The ramp coming together on the freeway was fast and furious levels of ridiculous but still was cool lol.
Finally someone said “that’s what she said” when the Riddler said “you came”😄
I loved the movie. It's like a 1940s film noir meets Zodiac.
The Opening Monologue
Alone is Better than all
The Batman Movies
I can Tell you dat
Just gives me chills and goosebumps
That's indeed Bruce Wayne's voice
this batmobile is the best, id love to have one myself
I love this movie so much! The look and feel to it, the detective noir, voyeuristic theme in the camera work, the score, the story, everything. But aside from how visually stunning it is and just how brilliantly made it is as a film, I think my favorite thing about it in terms of Batman and storytelling is the room it has to grow. Cuz it shows a younger Batman, who is angry, and naive, and impulsive, and who makes mistakes. And we see him very early on so his tech is quite basic and his Bruce persona has yet to be created. It leaves so much room for both Batman development in terms of gadgets and skills but also character development for both batman and bruce. Cuz in other iterations of the character, especially the dark knight trilogy (which im not shitting on those movies at all because i absolutely love them) it feels like he has about 10 minutes of figuring out how to be batman and then he's instantly good at it. But in this u see him make a lot of mistakes so it'll be so cool to see how he grows to be more of an expert at what he's doing. And I will absolutely love to see how his Bruce progresses cuz Rob can definitely play that playboy billionaire character well and I know it'll be a cool character for Rob and the director/writers to create and show to the world. And I even loved the character development within the movie itself cuz there was actually a lot, which I think lends itself to open the door to more natural growth in future films. As batman he realizes the difference between being vengeance and being hope and how he must be more to the city of gotham than an instrument of fear. And then as Bruce u can see the wheels beginning to turn in terms of the impact he can have when he embraces his influence and his family's legacy, which I think will lend to him becoming "Bruce Wayne" more. Idk, I could rave about this movie for hours. I love it so much. And i agree, i dont understand how people can hate this movie. I can understand maybe why it's not in people's top 2 or 3 Batman movies due to taste and what u want out of a batman film, but for the people who think it's an absolutely shit movie.... straight to jail with those horrible opinions.
This Riddler is bone chilling.
*34:06** This scene is good. We expected to see a monster for the suspense, but he's just a "normal" guy. Paul Dano was so amazing.*
Yet more Hitchcockian inspiration.
This movie blew me away. Worth all the hype. Prob my second favorite right behind the Dark Knight
Most adaptations of Batman will pay lip service to the idea that it's really weird for a man to dress up like a bat...but this movie, and Pattinson's performance, really play it like he's always aware of just how truly weird it is, and he completely owns it.
This was great, loved your reaction!
This movie was awesome
The almost dead silence throughout the last act was absolutely hilarious 😂😂😂
Had so much fun watching you guys enjoying this.
I love ❤️ this movie so much! Matt Reeves gave us a young Batman who doesn’t have it all figured out yet, he only wants to be Vengeance and he doesn’t see a need for Bruce, it’s almost like he has a death wish! There was a arc for Bruce and Batman in the movie, we’re going to get to grow with Bruce/Batman! The cast the story was so great and he went from Vengeance to a ray of hope for the people of Gotham! Robert Pattinson can do a playboy billionaire, have you seen him in Tenet, his character is charismatic and charming! Another great thing is even the villains aren’t fully forms, very excited to see where Matt Reeves takes this trilogy, great reaction!
@ 1:01...am I the only one imagining Christian Bale's batman voice when Bobo popped up..."IM BATMAN" LOL
Batman dark Hallway scene and Vader scene in Rogue One are done by the same cinematographer
Theres a deleted scene on youtube with the joker I think you guys should watch, adds to the excitement for the characters return.
this commentary was top tier lol i like you guys! the rpatz disrespect is overdone though, he’s more than proved himself at this point. he wasn’t even the worst part of the twilight films! anyway, i was cackling the entire video at you guys, the fall for you moment actually made me choke 😭😭 thanks guys!
the thing i love bout ur reaction was nothin much been cut.. and the seriousness in u both face was priceless. 😊😊😊 🔥🔥
In the Long Halloween comic Selena is Falcones Daughter
new to your channel. Fun fact: Colin went to get coffee at a cafe in full make to see if anybody would recognize him. He just got a weird looks from customers lol.
We must have that suit in Batman Arkham Knight!!!!
I found this movie to be very good. Great cast, story, costume, time, and want to see The Batman 2 with Freeze. Big 👍👍👍👍
Can I ask where you got the awesome "All work and no play..." raglan?
Riddler's theme song is just Ave Maria in a minor key
“It’s le Jesus!”
Damn I didn’t even realise that lmao
"The furnace from home alone" that got me 🤣
22:03 this is a Batman that is just starting at the beginning when he was going to jump he doubted ❤️
Vengeance Came
And Delivered
This was Batman is his 2nd year so he's just figuring everything out.
He hasn't figured out the playboy billionaire alter ego yet.
All batman movies from now on needs to be serial thrillers... or I'm not gonna watch them... this movie set the bar.

I absolutely loved this movie and this version of the riddler as much as I love Jim Carrey’s version when I think of the riddler this version is sm better with how serious he is and demented. The mix of being the riddler with the zodiac killer and jigsaw was so cool.
you summed up the secondary narrative to this story pretty well at the first crime scene..."who the hell is this guy in a suit and what's he doing here, he shouldn't be"... When you watch this again, keep an eye out for weirdly placed green lighting or lens flares, riddler mask shaped objects or shadows and reflections...it's continuous throughout all the scene's riddler isn't, and there's a similar thread of ambiguous good/bad actions by Batman too..like some really manipulative stuff if you watch closely, particularly with Alfred and Selina, and there's another consistent thread of bystanders pointing out Batman is breaking the law...it ties in to what Riddlers full plan was, he knows who Bruce/Batman is and is presenting you with his version of Batman (A selfish brutal manipulative and reckless insane person taking justice into his own hands to get his kicks), as Riddler is the story teller.. it's no accident he's the only character who calls Batman "The Batman". I was very surprised at the dual narrative..a fun surface story with gorgeous set pieces and a fun whodunnit plot...and then a secondary narrrative that puts a different spin on events with a little bit of puzzle work to pick apart what Riddlers motives really are...Matt Reeve's did really well balancing those..it's not perfect but damn close
This was a 🔥reaction
This was awesome!
After a 3 hours movie
"Is that it ?" LOL
That's how good it is tho.
Robert and Zoe were awesome as Wayne and Selina but for me the standouts were Paul Dano as The Riddler and Colin Farrell as The Penguin, both of them completely embodied their characters and with the mask/prosthetics both were unrecognisable which allowed them to completely become their respective roles, Matt Reeves’ filmmaking is unparalleled and this movie is the first to match The Dark Knight
This movie is great. Loved it.
The only place Penguin should set up a nightclub/lair is a fish factory… or maybe the arctic building in an abandoned zoo…
ehmm I dunno why, but this batman costume design is really look like zorro, just see it and you'll know what I mean
Lol fuckin dope
GOTHAM...where every other day is either the purge or Halloween.
Colin Farrell doing his best De Niro impersonation
and to me, that wasnt adrenaline. That was Venom... Yep. that Venom
yep. its absurd how many people cant see that as a direct reference. Batman got addicted to it in the comics.
@@werdle92 I thought it was adrenaline when i first seen it too. but thinking about it after i left the theatre, they made it obvious what it was. Making it bright green and focusing on it like they did
Source: trust me bro
@@werdle92 nah, in the "The Art of the Batman" book, it's mentioned as just Adrenaline
@@werdle92 it was confirmed it wasn’t Venom from the art book and the Mezco action figure
Bruce's Corvette is the same car that Neal Adams based the 70s redesign of the Batmobile on.
"call me The "Bat" Man
People that complained about his Bruce Wayne failed to realize that in the comics Batman is in his mid-30s
I believe Patton said was supposed to be 28
He has not yet learned how to be Bruce Wayne
Incredible film. Still don't believe there could be a super-hero film, this well made right now. My #1 favorite super-hero movie, right now.
The thing that I like about this film is its almost not a superhero movie. We dont really see Batman do anything super hero-y, or at least not super human. Even comparing it to The Dark Knight Trilogy, which was realistic at the time, this batman doesn't do any of the theatrics that Christina Bale's Batman does, like appearing and disappearing without a trace.
Hell, in this one, we literally see batman walk into the fight, or knock on the door and just ask to see the Penguin. Its so grounded comparatively that it feels almost less super which I really like
There’s a deleted scene online with the joker and Batman
It’s really good
Sexiest Batmobile ever !
22:11 ... superhero landing ...
I was surprised just how much I loved this movie. I have been a D.C. for many years and always thought I would forever consider The Dark Knight trilogy my favorite Batman movies. But this easily surpassed those for me.
8:25 You guys really need to watch Teen Wolf the series. That's where those twins got famous from.
You guys should react to the deleted scene with the Joker that came out!
Robert do a amazing job in this movie. Well done Mr Pattinson. 👏🏻 He looks very sexy and hot too, i admit that Sir. U.U 😂
Watch the deleted Joker scene. Its so awesome.
Best batman movie after dark knight.
We need a mr. Freeze in the next one.
So down for a Mr Freeze! Bridgette’s never seen tho old Batman and Robin movie, I might have to make her watch it 😂
@@BRIDGECO1 that would be hilarious! Especially now that we’ve all been spoiled with this incredible Batman film!
Guys, you should watch the deleted scene. You'll most probably enjoy it.
Great movie
Top shelf
33:12 XD
How much you wanna bet that green shit Batman injected is Bane juice
Naw it was adrenaline
@@damonestephens8722 Naw it's obviously venom and green like no shit ofc they called it adrenaline for realism but obviously venom in this universe
@@lilstupidahhboy5155 Adrenaline exists though and it’s clearly adrenaline
Bruce is still a very angry young man. He'll grow into that playboy persona eventually. Give him a couple more years and he'll figure himself out!
I personally want to see Mr Freeze or Clayface next 🤞🏻🔥
Wat da dog doin
Doggo things 😂
React to the The Batman joker deleted scene the director released, its about 5 mins long, its really creepy! The Batman joker deleted scene!
You need to react to the deleted scene it has a very special character.
I love that Selina is bisexual in The Batman like she is in the comics. That's pretty awesome.
5 min deleted Joker scene would be a great reaction video.
*nice*
Now the deleted scene
you gotta see the deleted scene. that's all i'm saying. it's everywhere online.
Batman 2 in 2027
No 2026
@@ammiyassine6940 bro my answer was 1 year ago but how they start to delay it i will not be suprised if they put it in 2027
@@wolfkane1986 they delayded enough
Gotta react to the joker deleted scene at some point
This is ok but for me the original and batman returns are my favourite ones
Same reactions.... at end "thats it?" I want to see 4 hrs
Where’s your dog Kevin?
41:19 Venom?
Well as a huge Batman fan I ended up really liking it, but didn’t love it tbh. There was lots of stuff I loved but also lots of stuff I didn’t. Some even nit picking stuff. But I agree with the best bat suit but for me 4th best Batman. It did feel way to long I will say. But I’m sold on RP As Batman and hopefully this will change the twilight stink he is strongly still judged on. Imo he’s a great actor from alll the other stuff I’ve seen him in but felt like this wasn’t his best ACKING compared other his other roles and from his pure range IVE seen. 4/5 for me
I think I just liked the most it felt a little fresh, and not just an attempt at like being a Christopher Nolan Batman movie. Focusing on the detective part of Batman was nice and definitely down to see more in this world and hopefully some growth from RP’s Bruce. Now I need to make Bridgette watch Batman and Robin 😂
@@BRIDGECO1 it’s definitely was a refreshing take of Batman for sure. I personally like Batman and robin as a kid and it has a place in my heart but I totally understand why people give it crap. Agreed , i cant wait to see what we get next in this new Batman franchise. You guys really need to check out more RP movies. He has a great range.
@@BERSERKERKINGREVIEWS oh I do too it’s my childhood Batman as I wasn’t even born when Keaton’s came out. Definitely liked Lighthouse with RP but should look for more to check out!
The movie is best
He moves his arm to cover his face just saying.
31:39
boop
8:06 the bat though
He was great as Batman but I hated him as a Bruce Wayne
that was literally the point of this movie that y'all are just missing. He's obsessed with being Batman and seeking revenge for his parents, he is so absorbed in it that he neglects Bruce Wayne, this version of Bruce Wayne in this movie isn't supposed to be exactly likeable because Bruce is still trying to figure things out, Bruce as a character will be further developed in the next movie.
@ZoiddBergg well said
They skiped some of the best parts of the movie
...and The Riddler won. Because this is the Worst Batman in the history of Batmen.
So what The World's Greatest Detective was a step behind the whole movie, at least a thousand blue-collar people died, he needed help to solve every riddle and saved no one but conveniently Bruce Wayne and the mayor, and The Riddler did what no Bat villain has ever done in a live-action film or TV show - WIN. Because on the bright side, the homeless problem has been washed away, high-rise condo owners saw their property values skyrocket, and Batman's heart grew a size.
The Mayor: The sea walls were blown to bits, at least hundreds died, the city will be in a crippling debt for decades to come, we're surrounded by incels with guns, and the Riddler did what he wanted. But Batman, how are you?
The Bat: Hey! It's only my second year, Mayor! You save two and lose a thousand sometimes. Those are the odds! And not that you care, but I learned to accept I can't win them all, and in the end, isn't that the real victory?
worst review for this movie ive seen
What apart of year 2 Batman did you not understand? Your entire essay didn’t even mention that. Batman solved every single riddle but missed that very last key detail. Matt Reeves knows this, this Batman is far from perfect, Bruce is fully invested into his mission and doesn’t care about anything else. He became as obsessed as the Riddler, why this movie is perfect for that.
I watched today. As far as I'm concerned it stole too many plots from the Nolan Dark Knight trilogy.
1. Alfred you're not my dad.
2. Using a truck flatbed to escape a blocked road.
3. Alfred telling Bruce Wayne he failed him.
4. Having a romance with Cat woman.
5. Having Cat woman asking Batman to leave with her.
6. Exploding the sewers.
7. Catching a villain with a wire whilst falling from a building.
8. Having the police chase Batman from a building.
9. Having the police side with Batman near the end.
10. Having a one on one with the main villain in jail.
11. Exposing city corruption with a villain.
The entire movie stole so much from Nolan, it was boring to watch. Even the police had been working with Batman for two years and they would have been more trusting, but nor so in this movie. Was weak plot and have NO original thing about it.
Your comment is unintentionally and unironically ridiculous.
@@itzelwisteria1819 I read through it and was like ''there's no way you're being serious'' lmao
