I picked the green variant of the land tortoise and these fit quite well even in smaller wrists. The numbered editions might seem huge from an overall watch POV, but since Seiko's presence is significant across geographies most of the good limited models do get sold out early.
I have the green version of that watch, and it's been a great watch. That one is awful tempting. I love the turquoise hands and indices. Great color combo!
I was never a fan of the turtle models until this. just bought it and I am in love with it. the matte black stealth look makes the indices and the hands pop. The factory strap although nice is hard as nails and will def required some breaking in. ill def be putting something softer.
This watch would be fantastic with a dual time / 12 hour bezel insert. I have no use for a compass insert but love these tortoise watches. I hope someone makes replacement inserts soon.
I have a black dial bracelet version I kind of wish where it's a prospex that it ment better movements or something. I bought on ebay for $300. I love it my first real seiko

I guess Seiko gets confused with Limited Edition and limited run. But considering the number of watches they sell and the vast number of markets, larger number seems to be the norm.
I think if you take into the equation that there are soooooooo many folk in the world and of which most can't afford a watch or multiple in our lucky first world, it's quite limited 🤔🥺 but I understand what you're saying. I worked out that a 7000 limited edition they wouldn't even cover my whole town's wrist and that's food for thought😊
Imwould be more interested if it was DLC than PVD. The one PVD watch I had scratched through the PVD and looked horrible. DLC is much harder to scratch.
If orient can put their F6922/6722 which is 6R15/35 equivalent onto their watches, why cant Seiko do it for all their Prospex line-up as a minimum and still keep prices down?
I like limited editions with larger numbers produced. This means I can get one and still feel somewhat privileged to own it. 😊

I bought the Samuai one. I use it when hunting. It makes me feel like a Navy Seal lol. It's great!

Bought it last week; great looking watch. The bracelet, though, stiff and will take a while to be comfortable...
Have not bought a DLC coated black watch in a while… This one is definitely a candidate! I think 450 sounds like a better price point though

That would be a killer if it was a GMT, even a desk gmt.
We may see the Seiko 5 GMT movement making its way up into the lower end prospex and presage lineup this year.
