The controls are an absolute nightmare in this game. I tried to map auto pilot so the plane would maintain altitude, it does nothing. I followed the mapping for applying trim, it does nothing. So basically i just spend the entire flight going up and down altitude getting warnings from ATC to either increase it or deceased it.
Where do you see controller save settings simplified? Serious? They confused us with General control, with Airplanes, with Specific..! An idiocy, that I set it to be the save for all planes and it doesn't keep my settings at all, that it always returns to the default. Some idiots!
I have found it impossible to map any controls in this sim .. Both my bravo and alpha controls refuse to work correctly . The install of 2024 also screwed up 2020 visuals and settings
Isn't it better to always make a modified version of Gamepad 2024 Planes under Airplanes controls so these would automatically be the defaults for all? Specific changes can then be made per aircraft. That's what I did and I can't work out if you are doing that (I -*think* you are).
Yes precisely. Except, you do have single, twin, jet and quad engine variants....So rudder pedals would be the same throughout, yoke possibly too....But not forthcoming your throttle quadrant.
I appreciate the attempt by the video author. However I'm so lost that I cannot get even basic functionality and views. What I need is a cookbook video telling me how to start from scratch. When I scroll through my devices with the various control selections, I see lots of stuff mapped to lots of stuff. None of it works and I don't know what step one should be.
Are ms planning on simply transferring the default controls from 2020 to 2024? This is all too complicated for me. I'm already used to the 2020 default controller settings. Ps. I really appreciate the effort you've put in here, thanks. For me as a casual simmer, mapping every control seems like a developer's job.
So, my xbox controller on my does t have a preset configuration. i have to manually input everything? Also.the fact that this needs a constant internt.connect.is also a bunch of bs.
Thank you. I do not believe that is possible In-Game, but if you could find it (the physical file) and tweak the input from airplane to glider (good chance it is XML) then it should theoretically work?? Then again, might just be easier to recreate it?
I have problem with the sim not mapping my xbox controller keys right, i started from scratch, mapping all the keys need and went to career mode... it never deleted camera movement from right thumbstick and totally is doing wrong movements with the same stick. Tried all kinds of tricks from re connecting my controller to updating controllers software... nothing helped thus far... anyhelp or other tricks ?
have you flown with controller in game yet? New player but I struggle with the sensitivity of the yoke a lot, and i'm struggling to maintain altitude/steadily climb as it just "flicks" the aircraft. I did change the sensitivity in the hardware settings, but it just doesn't seem to cause much effect
Having the same issue. It is I think something that can be learnt and overcome, but reducing sensiti input is a better solution WHEN they finally fix that part of the controller input system.
Thank you, great video. I have an issue with my airplanes and specifially to bind the parking brake and throttle config. I am using a PS5 controller. I have done something wrong and I cant get back to it, because I want the throttle to work through the X for increase speed and the O for decrease. It does this now but only in one go, I am not able to increase or decrease bit by bit which ruins the hole experience. I cant figure out how to set the right throttle config now at all, tried some many times. It seems to be easy, if there is a bug I dont know. When enabling left and right pointer to use for parking brake this doesnt work either, it did before. I have reinstalled the game 3 times now. As I understood the Duplicate function was to enable the config from MS2020 but that had no effect. If someone in this comment section could help or you yourself making this video could help me, pls reach out, I am FRUSTRATED! :)
Hi Guys! My Last MSFS245 Setup Guide was a little longer than necessary, so I threw this together to hopefully get you flying quicker.

this might be a silly thing, but just in case - did you turn off auto-trim etc?
Great thumbnail!
Hey thanks!
Thank you for an excellent explanation
You are welcome!

What happens?
There are so many bugs in this sim. Nigh impossible to configure controls properly ... even axis calibration is broken.

Working on that video :-)

No, & they cannot because they were all lumped together and that is a worse situation TBH. Got a handy little vid coming out asap....Might help you.
@@SimUKReviews appreciate it, thank you.
Great video I do have one question how do you get the efb on your tablet?
@@beauthompson5338 great question. I was wondering the same thing!
Thanks: planner.flightsimulator.com/
You can just click in the search box if you want the cog wheel mini menu to disappear

@@NavyVetGamer literally why im here no presets.
Great video. Thanks. Can you copy an airplane config over to gliders to avoid having to repeat the set up?
Thank you.

Thanks I'll give it a go and repeat the config setup for gliders and helicopters I'm assuming it won't overwrite the existing airplane setup lol
Correct. ONLY the General Config is copied across all aircraft type. :-)
Thanks. I have now set them up manually which was quite easy as I have a simple set up. The Airship was a bit interesting LOL. Thanks for your help

Did you clear the general configuration file?

Was hoping to find out how to adjust input sensitivity on controller, sad to learn it's bugged

I just bought the game and connected my Xbox controller to my PC but I have 'None' as options under the 3 control types. Something Im missing?
Did you make sure you selected the controller? White tick bottom right hand side?
@SimUKReviews I did. The problem was that the game didn't properly detect the controller over Bluetooth, but hardwiring in resolved it.
This game is completely broken
